D'hara simply stood silent as the others examined the gravity paradox. She considered herself quite the knowledge seeker, but this was outside of her realm of expertise. Training guided her to let those with experience investigate this occurrence.

Her mind instead was on the great dragon and the silvery scales left behind. Her words echoed over and over in her head. Chaos stands at our gates. Heal the Worldwound. After what she had witnessed, combined with the information her guest had volunteered, and what her superiors had provided all seemed to speak to the great chaos that was descending upon Kenabras. If stopping the chaos fell to their shoulders, chaos was going to have a huge hurdle.

anyone rolling a DC 10 Planes check:

Everyone knows that the Abyss is a realm of chaos. Places that are strongly associated with the Abyss, like the Worldwound, often take on a few of the properties of that horrid place. One such phenomenon is weakened or even reversed geometry and gravity

Kevroth and Giosue observe that nothing appears to be suspended above or below the rocks. They really are floating in mid-air! Likewise, Giosue's tossed rock defies all natural laws and hangs with the rest of the pebbles a foot above the rocks

Darsanga steps up on to the stair and, immediately stands on the stair as though he were walking up a normal flight. To him, he is walking on a perfectly level set of stairs. To everyone else, he is perpendicular to the ground!

Darsanga knows that the floating rocks are at north. Sorry, forgot to post this

Undaunted, the Hellknights boldly step onto the stairs. Chaos shall not defy them, though it defies the natural laws of the universe! Still, their discipline is rigid, and bound with the iron chains of Hell. With strong, firm strides, and resolute minds they step onto the stairs.

They stand, perpendicular to the ground. The stairs curve up over the rubble, bending towards right before curving up towards the roof. None of the knights feel as though they're being pulled down to the ground. Rather, "down" is the stairs! As the knights walk up the stairs, they can feel the unmistakable breeze whistling against their armor from the cracks up in the ceiling.

Further and further they walk, towards the resolute image of the Inheritor Triumphant, and her twin angel heralds.

anyone making a DC 15 perception check, or a DC 10 engineering check:

Their's a crack in the ceiling that not quite wide enough to wiggle through, but the rocks around the crack seem loose enough to pull out. Ordinarily, the roof would become unstable, but given how gravity is working here, the roof will probably NOT fall down. Also, the stained glass window is big enough to fit even Chakat through, and it's breakable. It wouldn't endanger the integrity of the roof at all

so.. the problems should be fixed. and you can see the new map and control your characers

"I believe the simplest way out is up." Iavdi says, laughing quietly at his own joke before replacing his helmet on his head. He mounts Igneous, and couches his glaive before turning to look at the gathered Hellknights.

"And I intend on going up, brethren."

With this, the armored machine spurs Igneous forward, directly towards the painted-glass pane window, glaive aimed to smash ahead of the pair. He and Igneous soar through air, crashing into the stern gaze of the the triumphant Inheritor. Glass shatters in a thousand directions, flying up into the sky and down towards the ground at the base of the ruined dome. The glass doesn't fall, though, it hovers in the air, both above the dome, and within. Hellstrider wisely follows the mounted knight, letting the infernal machine take the brunt of the glass shards.

The other armigers follow suit and climb through the hole. For a moment, the armigers hang in the air, as they pull themselves through the hole where the stained glass window once was. Then, they feel the pull of that eternal force as the absolute laws the universe reassert themselves beyond the corrupted stones of the cavern. But, the Hellknights marshal their discipline, and cling to their duty! They pull themselves over the rim and stand tall and proud on the top of the dome.

The sun hangs dark and foul, an unnatural stain across the sky. Its light tinges the sky a dark blood red, reflecting off the smoke rising from the ruins of the burning city. In the distance, the sounds of war rings through the air. The knights gather themselves about the hole, taking stock of the situation. But, then, the air rings with the sick hum of flies! They look, and the shards of glass hanging in the air above and below melt and flow together, forming grotesque flies that drip foul acids from their sneering, angel-faced maws. They hover fifteen feet in the air and swoop down for the kill, shrieking mallevolently

Theyre 15 feet off of the ground? Then Iavdi should be able to reach them, what with being mounted and having a reach weapon. Right?

Continuing the natural charge through the window, Iavdi sets his sights on the closest....thing, (Knowledge (planes): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14) and lashes out with his glaive once more, aiming to kill it before it can react.

D'hara waited for the others to begin their climb up the awkward stairs before following and bringing up the rear. She took a moment to gather up the remaining dragon scales. Not usually accustomed to souvenirs or personal possessions, the dragon scales were simply too impressive to be left behind, buried beneath rubble and forgotten to time. Besides, maybe it was possible to return the great dragon to life through them...somehow. The magic was far beyond her power and understanding, but perhaps her superiors knew a way. She slipped the scales into her belt pouch and began her ascent of the stairs.

Anyone rolling a DC 15 or higher Knowledge(Planes):

These are not ordinary flies! They have been infected with chaotic corruption of the Abyss! The entropic energies have mutated and twisted their flesh, making them swell to thousands of times their original size! In addition, their flesh is so warped, that they even take on the properties of demons themselves! They are immune to disease and anything that can cloud the mind. They resist the energies of the universe: cold, heat, and even magic are dulled against their bizarre physiology. They are particularly deadly against those who are pure of heart, and aligned themselves with the Heavens.

Anyone rolling DC 10 or higher Knowledge(Planes):

Everyone knows that the Worldwound warps life around it. These flies tainted by the Abyss! People say that they can infect you with corruption if they bite you. Flies and other insects always appear during or just after an advance from the hordes of the Abyss.

Initiatives:

Iavdi: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
Flies: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
D'hara: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13

Kevroth: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Giosue: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9

Iavdi continues his charge through the window. Propelling himself up and forward through the gap, his blade swinging at the ready. His glaive cuts in perfect arc, slicing deep into the side of one of the corrupt flies. The flesh of the insects is weak and putrid, it's carapace has been rendered soft and spongy by the twisted energies filling it with power, and his blade slices clean into it's side, severing several legs which fall to the dome, leaking a foul-smelling green liquid.

Flies:

1 fly attacks Iavdi
bite: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13 miss
another fly attacks Iavdi
bite: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10 miss

1 fly attacks Ezechias
bite: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6 miss

1 fly attacks Darsanga

1 fly attacks Hellstrider
bite: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11 miss
another fly attacks Iavdi
bite: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5 miss

The flies descend on the knights, their wings humming in the air, and stirring up dust and rubble with each beat. But, their sick pincers, dripping acid and filth are nothing against the perfect armor of Hell. Though the steel is pitted and corroded by the fiendish humors of the demons and, now, these flies, it still remains firm and proof in its purpose; a solid testament to the perfect will and rightness of the armiger's cause!

Everyone else up.. take 'em down.

With single purpose, forged by the Measure and the Chain, the Hellknights strike out at the corrupted flies, bringing order to the world once more.

D'hara pulls her chain free of her waist and lashes out at the fly harrowing Hellstrider. The cold iron whips clear and quick through the air, and strikes true! The metal links coil around the vermin, gnashing and grinding is bloated abdomen until more foul smelling green ichor oozes upon the stones.

The half-orc resents the horrid buzzing sound from the flies, and attempts to cleave one of them in two. Drawing his scimitar with a firm grip, he slashes at the chaotic fly. Three legs fall free from the vile creature. Each leg screams in pain, although the creature itself remains silent. save for the incessant humming of its wings.

Death before Chap!Darsanga calls out, his vise deep and ominous from beneath his helm. His morning star swing through air, heavy weight bound in chain and propelled by the unflinching strength of order and law!. The weight crashes into the head of his foe, bringing the vermin low to the ground, and splattering it in a great spray of foul green liquid against the stones!

Hellstrider lashes out, but the flies buzz lazily around the point of her lance, and she strikes only air.

Meanwhile, Kevroth calls out to the knights: "Try to get it between us. We can take advantage of any weaknesses it has." He sees his prey fall, so rushes to stand between Kevroth and the gap to harry another vermin. His dueling sword flashes towards the vile thing. The blow is true, but the fly's carapace bears proof against most of his blow, and he only gives it a slight cut. Meanwhile, Giosue prepares his crossbow.

Did any of the flies move through my threatened area in order to get to me? Because Iavdi has two AoO's per round. Sorry for all the backtracking, but that's kinda the sort of character I went for with the strategic bodyguard.

no no AoOs at this time. It's all good, please continue to double check on things. I'm by no means perfect. I'll make sure to give u AoOs when they occur! Promise!

Alright, sounds good! Around the time he picks up Bodyguard and Mythic Combat Reflexes, Iavdi will stop using AoO's for damage and start using them to prevent damage, so there will be less of an issue with backtracking and such.

Iavdi lashes out once more at the fiendish flies, disgusted at the multitude of fluids flying at him.

Round 2
Iavdi lashes out once more at the fiendish flies, disgusted at the multitude of fluids flying at him. Chaos repulses the loyal and disciplined mind! Iavdi, forged as he was in the foundries of Cheliax, clings to his rigid training and the Measure and Chain! His glaive lashes out with grim purpose, and slices one of the demonic flies in twain! The fly screams in agony as vile legs pull out of both sides of the wound and drag them away from Iavdi's horse, even as the pieces evaporate into foul-smelling smoke.
