Miss Price, checking in!

Looks like we got our old crew back. :D

Xzaral aka Mark aka Rose - thanks!

Hey, everyone! Thanks for the acceptance, Xzaral.

you probably have enough to get as you're preparing to run the two games, but Im up for hashing out the details of Cain's lycanthropy whenever you're ready.

Welcome back to prison, gang. :)

HP 21 | AC/T/FF 14/12/12 | CMD 17 | F+3 / R+3 / W+8 | Init +6; PER +10 | Image

Price rattles her chains experimentally and regards their reeking cell. "Cain, I just love what you've done with the place - quite homey."

King of Talingarde

First off a few notes on how I plan to run this shindig.

On the Campaign Info tab I plan to put links to links to each of your profiles, links to profiles of important NPCs as they come up, any maps I use, and anything else that strikes my fancy.

Under the NPC profiles I will have at minimum two sections, one for each Parchment (unless that NPC only affects one Parchment). The information for you parchment will include what information your group discovers. If it's spoilered to a specific person(s), that means that only that person knows this information.

For each person, please make sure your alias also includes your background information. It helps to have it in an easy to access location as we go through.

For combat, I will be grouping NPCs as much as possible to avoid any delays. As such, when it is your turn for combat, I will take your actions in the order they are posted within a group. So for example:

Villain A
Villain B
Villain C
Soldiers
Villain D

And Villain B posts first, his action will go first. If Villain D posted first, then Villan C, Villain C gets to go first since D is in the next group. If for some reason someone's action becomes invalid due to another player's action, I will either try to adapt it as best able or wait until you can repost.

All members of a group have 24 hours from my post stating it's their turn to act to post or I may either skip their turn or take their action for them. I don't actually expect to use this rule and will wait longer than 24 hours, except in extreme situations. Weekends are exempt of course.

I would appreciate it when you post your combat action, you list some basic info in a spoiler at the start of each turn. As an example format:

Round 1

Stats:

HP: 12/12
AC: 19 T11 FF 18
F/R/W: +4/+1/+3
Effects: None

This just makes it easier to keep track of things.

I think that's everything (though I'm sure I'm missing something). Any questions on your ends?

HP 27/35, Temp HP 0, 3 str damage, AC: 11, Fort +02/ Ref +2 / Will +6, Perception:+5 Channel 8/8, Bolster 8/8, Infernal Healing 50/50, Command Undead 50/50. Active Effects: Fox's Cunning

I'm a little confused what "second parchment" means.

King of Talingarde

I tend to find things I like to run with. In this case, when I was setting up the RP part of who got selected, I decided it was going to be two roster's listed on parchment, one for each group. For some reason calling each group a Parchment sounded appealing, so I just went with it.

HP 21 | AC/T/FF 14/12/12 | CMD 17 | F+3 / R+3 / W+8 | Init +6; PER +10 | Image

Second Parchment = Group 2 = US :)

One question, Mark. Do you prefer our actions in a round to be spoilered or open?

King of Talingarde

I'm fine with either. I personally find spoilering the OOC portions makes it easier to scan through a page of posts, unless that happens to be the information being searched for.

HP 21 | AC/T/FF 14/12/12 | CMD 17 | F+3 / R+3 / W+8 | Init +6; PER +10 | Image

Thankfully, at first level, our explanations and actions should be fairly concise. :)

I tend to provide more information, with links, when casting a spell to ease the DM burden, like so:

MOVE: Move to J36
STAND: Cast Ear-Piercing Scream

Spell:
Ear-Piercing Scream
COMP: V,S
RANGE: Close (25' + 5'/2 levels)
EFFECT: 1d6 ⇒ 5 Sonic DAM + Dazed
DURATION: 1 Rnd
SAVE: Fort Save DC:16 for 1/2 DAM & no Daze

Especially with no gear. :D

Um... I punch him?

HP: 38/38 AC 22/14/18: F+6, R +4, W+1*, Per:0, Init: +11

Fan-flippin-tastic. Thanks to Xzaral for preserving as fine a group of cowards, naer-do-wells, and scoundrels as ever been gathered. Looking forward to it.

King Mark, what are your feelings on maintaining those desired stats on the poster info line, like so?

King of Talingarde

Fine with that as well, Kalina.

Female Half-elf Bard 1/Unchained Rogue 3 HP: 20/20 AC 14/10/14: F+2, R +9, W+6 (+2 vs. Enchantments), Per:+18, Init: +10

Gwyn reporting in.

I'm think I'm pretty much ready to go, but I may have to double check that.

And hello everybody. Glad to see the gang's all here.

HP 27/35, Temp HP 0, 3 str damage, AC: 11, Fort +02/ Ref +2 / Will +6, Perception:+5 Channel 8/8, Bolster 8/8, Infernal Healing 50/50, Command Undead 50/50. Active Effects: Fox's Cunning

Me too. It's amazing that the lot of us made the transfer to a separate game. I've never seen that happen.

I think Cain is more or less good to go, other than the specifics of lycanthropy.

I think I'll probably end up dropping the Skirmisher angle. Being able to pick up some support heals round level 4 might be helpful to Price... even if they're small.

King of Talingarde

Here's a few recommendations for minor background edits. These are just recommendations and are subject to your approval (these are merely to help intertwine the characters into the AP a little more personally later one.

Price and Cain:
During the interruption of the ceremony, the man leading the attack was the famous Witch Hunter Sir Balin of Karfield.

Cain:
As far as the lycnathropy goes, here's my own thoughts (based on after what you posted). You are a natural lycanthrope. During your capture you were stabbed close to the heart with a silver dagger by Sir Balin, which has hindered your lycanthrope nature at present. Starting off you won't even be able to transform (this will be fixed very quickly during the prison break with a temporary solution for the story). Your suggestions for early lycanthrope abilities will include:
  • +2 Wis/-2Cha
  • Low-light
  • Hybrid/Animal forms with +2 Str/+2 Con and bite
  • Lycanthropic Empathy

Pretty much what you said, but just re-written for clarification. As the story progresses there will be opportunities to acquire more of your lost lycan traits. How does that sound for now? Oh, and standard cavaet, if something ends up broken, we will work to fix it.

Kalina:
I'm pretty open with how you would want this to go down, but the man who caught you during your desertion was named Sir Balin of Karfield, a Witch Hunter by trade who happened upon you.

Gwyndolin:
When the guards were upon you, the one who managed to defeat you was the famous Witch Hunter, Sir Balin of Karfield, who happened to be in the castle that day on business.

Xanos:
I'm gonna PM you this one.

King Mark & Price:
Excellent! sounds good. Now I have someone to hate/want to track down and destroy. :D
I'll add something about it to Cain's story of the job that got him caught.

King Mark:
Ooh, I like the stabbed with silver. And if they knew enough to know to stab me with that specific weapon, they would know to put a low level of Wolfsbane in all of the food/water our crew has been rationed while in prison. That way, his powers would be exceptionally weak still. Feel free to take it or leave it.

About the mechanics, fantastic. That works for me. Are you fine with Cain having a hybrid AND animal form? I only ask because the animal form has a speed of 50. That's a big freebie at low-levels, i would think. I'm fine if he has to "grow back into" acquiring his animal form.

Just let me know when I get access to what (including Hybrid). I'm fine waiting a bit if you want us to get out of the prison without all our abilities.

Scent: Are you fine with me flavoring Cain's perceptions sometimes as his nose being the thing that picked up the target or whatever? I'm fine waiting to pick Scent (the actual ability) when you're comfortable parceling it out, but I'd like to flavor CAin as if he has it still. I mean, he has a fairly high perception score, so it wouldn't be hat far-fetched.

Price now has a new spoiler on her page labeled 'Vendetta'. :)

HP: 38/38 AC 22/14/18: F+6, R +4, W+1*, Per:0, Init: +11

King Mark: Sounds good. I'll incorporate some edits this evening.

Female Half-elf Bard 1/Unchained Rogue 3 HP: 20/20 AC 14/10/14: F+2, R +9, W+6 (+2 vs. Enchantments), Per:+18, Init: +10

Alrighty then. I just need to think about how I'm going to incorporate that in.

HP 21 | AC/T/FF 14/12/12 | CMD 17 | F+3 / R+3 / W+8 | Init +6; PER +10 | Image

Mark:
With your kind approval, I'm thinking that perhaps Price will cross-train into the Assassin PrC at around Level 6 or 7, alternate between Inquisitor and Assassin levels until she hits Inquisitor 8 and then dedicate several levels to upping her Assassin abilities. Let me know if that works for you. Thanks!

Did King Mark demand that all of your characters be the victim of chronic ADHD, too?

Sigh... DM's...

King of Talingarde

Cain:
I'm fine with that flavor for perception rolls.

Price:
No problem with the assassin PrC at all. Plenty of opportunities to kill people as well (as well as some past ones you already have).

I'm going to start some character sheet audits for the crunchy bits. As soon as everything is in order I'll start the initial post and get this show on the road.

One last thing I noticed I missed is encumbrance. I really don't like keeping track of all the little bits people carry, so I usually don't keep track unless someone gets ridiculous. If you notice you're carrying 10 lbs too much and it will lower your AC and speed, that's fine, don't worry about it. If you have an 8 strength and are carrying 25 weapons, 3 suits of armor and 16,000 copper pieces, then I'll have a problem.

King of Talingarde

Price:
Looks good.

Cain:
Just want to confirm if you're going for Skirmisher archtype or not?

King of Talingarde

Kalina:

It doesn't look like you've updated the crunch yet. If you have, lemme know.

HP 21 | AC/T/FF 14/12/12 | CMD 17 | F+3 / R+3 / W+8 | Init +6; PER +10 | Image

Thumb's up!

King of Talingarde

Gwyndolin:

I'm seeing two sets of attributes. I believe the ones you have listed in the lower stat block are correct as they total 25 points, whereas the ones in the actual blocks provided only total 21. Also I didn't see any roll attempts (in case you wanted to try and see what you get, you can always default back to 25 if you don't like them).

Also a question regarding your skills. I was unsure of a modifier.

Disable Device, shouldn't this be +8?

King of Talingarde

Xanos:
Looks like you haven't updated the crunch as of yet. Just give me a heads up when complete.

HP 27/35, Temp HP 0, 3 str damage, AC: 11, Fort +02/ Ref +2 / Will +6, Perception:+5 Channel 8/8, Bolster 8/8, Infernal Healing 50/50, Command Undead 50/50. Active Effects: Fox's Cunning

Moment of stupid:

I just rolled my stats int he wrong thread. Here they are

HP 27/35, Temp HP 0, 3 str damage, AC: 11, Fort +02/ Ref +2 / Will +6, Perception:+5 Channel 8/8, Bolster 8/8, Infernal Healing 50/50, Command Undead 50/50. Active Effects: Fox's Cunning

Ok, I think I'm done. Have I missed anything?

This is how the world ends. Not with a bang but with a dot.

DM Mark:
To Skirmisher? Or not to Skirmisher?
That is the question…

I'm leaning pretty strongly away from taking that archetype at this point. It seems like it could be cool, but with the group's very restricted access to healing, Cain being able to pick up and use any Cure wand at level 4 or higher is a BIG deal. Especially if you're fine with Cain using Quick Draw (which he'll be picking up at level 3) with said wands.

Plus, there are some tasty spells on that list, anyway. Longstride, Instant Enemy, the list goes on and on!

Also, i'm not planning on taking an Animal Companion at 4th. With his emphasis on the pack mentality, his ability to bestow his favored enemy bonus to his teammates seems the way to go.

King of Talingarde

Xanos:
I believe you get 8 channels a day (3+Int Mod), with a DC of 13 (10+1/2 Necro level+Cha Mod).

You are still short the bonus non-combat feat.

What are your opposed schools?

I see which first level spells are in your spellbook. I assume the bolded ones are memorized. If that's correct, you're short a spell memorized (1 spell base, +2 for 20 Int, +1 Necro spell, for 4 total).

I don't see which cantrips are in your book, or are memorized (remember you don't get opposition school cantrips).

I think that's everything.

HP: 38/38 AC 22/14/18: F+6, R +4, W+1*, Per:0, Init: +11

Reviewing my crunch. Remind me what the story on Traits is? One freely selected, plus one based on crime?

Yep. One regular trait and then your Crime.

Also, I definitely just realized that we have a pair of female two-weapon warriors... one rogue and one fighter. That should be fun. :)

"And if you'll step over here, prison guard, we'll show you the buzz-saw feature..."

We're going to have to be careful how we use our rogue, though... Gwen doesn't seem to have the best con score or HP's. Did Gwen take a stab at rolling Focus/Foible rolls? That might help her out a bit...

King of Talingarde

That is correct.

HP: 38/38 AC 22/14/18: F+6, R +4, W+1*, Per:0, Init: +11

Ok, profile crunch and background notes should meet the campaign conditions now.

Female Half-elf Bard 1/Unchained Rogue 3 HP: 20/20 AC 14/10/14: F+2, R +9, W+6 (+2 vs. Enchantments), Per:+18, Init: +10

Whoops guess I forgot to update the other part. I'll get that fixed. I never actually rolled my stats, but here goes.

Rolls:
STR:1d10 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
INT:1d10 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
WIS:1d10 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
CHA:1d10 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16

if only that first roll was better. I think I'll take these. I'll jsut have to be a little more creative in combat. >:)

Edit: totally misread your post... move along, people... no reading fail to see here!

HP 21 | AC/T/FF 14/12/12 | CMD 17 | F+3 / R+3 / W+8 | Init +6; PER +10 | Image

Price tries to help Cain get on task...

HP 21 | AC/T/FF 14/12/12 | CMD 17 | F+3 / R+3 / W+8 | Init +6; PER +10 | Image

Don't worry about it Gwyn, that's why the Dice God made Flanking attacks. :)

Price bows her, "Dear Lord, lead us into Flanking positions that we may take advantage of our enemies and deliver exquisitely painful death upon them. Amen."

Wait... Price = Cher?!

Mind. Blown!

HP 21 | AC/T/FF 14/12/12 | CMD 17 | F+3 / R+3 / W+8 | Init +6; PER +10 | Image

Well, don't get your hopes up that Price will be putting ranks into Perform: Sing... but it is only slightly ironic that Nick Cage plays a 'lone wolf' character in the film. :)

King of Talingarde

Kalina:
Mechanics look good. Now that I can compare the stats rolled betewen everyone, I'm gonna throw something out for you. This is your choice. If you like, you can go ahead and add 2 to one physical score and add 2 to one mental score, your choice of scores. Everyone else rolled pretty darn decent, and this should keep you on par with the others. This is your choice and you do not have to do it if you don't want to.

HP: 38/38 AC 22/14/18: F+6, R +4, W+1*, Per:0, Init: +11

King Mark:
Hey, I'm not one to turn down increased physical and/or mental aptitude, especially in an evil game. Spectacularly failing is for the good guys! Tweak made.

King of Talingarde

The gameplay thread is opened for dotting.

Rockin'

If this show kicks off tonight or over the weekend, I'l do my best to be available.

My little sister just had her second kid this week, one of my video shooters has a big shoot coming up on monday, and I have a ton of house-prep to do for our own little one coming in a few months.

But I'm definitely eager to get this thing kicked off (when Zxaral is ready, of course).
