I was struggling not to say the same thing. :)

Well, blood can be used as rouge in a pinch.

I'm trying to determine if that's a very masterful pun or not.

Should I be waiting for Shulme to post that AoO before we move into the next round?

Also, Xzaral, would you prefer I wait until you can put up a summary/fluff post before I push ahead in combat? I'm fine either way; I just want to be doing what you'd prefer.

King of Talingarde

GO ahead and post your actions. I'll kinda ad hoc as we go.

As far as pushing ahead, I'll try to adjust as possible when things go awry. I'd rather keep things moving than wait for my summaries.

King of Talingarde

Just a heads up that my PC decided to stop operating as normal today. I hope to get it up and running over the weekend (not 100% sure what's wrong, but I have a friend who knows abit). I can still post from my iPad, but I can't manipulate the battlemats that way, though I can see them. This shouldn't be too long (I hope!), but I'll see about continuing on.

HP: 38/38 AC 22/14/18: F+6, R +4, W+1*, Per:0, Init: +11

No worries!

Ouch, if you need a new PC, better get it now before all they sell is the Win8 ones.

Seriously, if a roomful of techs couldn't figure out how to shut a computer down from inside of it, I dread what's going to happen in a few months when more people get their hands on it.

King of Talingarde

Pretty sure it's salvagable. From it's symptoms, it's probably just a virus, at least my friend thinks so. Though I don't understand how it relates to the strange shut-offs it's doing. Probably gonna have to wipe everything on it though.

Welp, hope you get things all squared away... computer problems are so ridiculously inconvenient. Stupid digital age!

That could be a virus, but it could also be a memory, powersupply, or motherboard problem.

Unless you have one of the new Macbooks where they glued everything in, the first one isn't that big of a deal, even for laptops. The second is also a fairly simple fix, if you have a desktop. The last one's the kicker.

We got anyone along the US east coast in here?

King of Talingarde

The computer is fixed as of late last night. I've been going through games getting updates going, should get this one moving tonight. Just wanted to give a heads up.

Cool. Look forward to it. :)

I am eastern PA, which is almost the east coast. It is times like that we actually do not mind that New Jersey is blocking the beach.

Heh, Glad you're alright there.

Alrighty, ready to get this thing on the road. Gwyn's got soldiers to shank. :)

MA North Shore here. Had some road flooding and the power was out for a while, but things are pretty much back in order, we definitely missed the worst of it.

Glad to hear of it, Coriat. Being from TExas, I can't really imagine dealing with that type of weather.

Hope everything gets back to normal for you and yours quickly.

I live in part of an old farm house. My wife and I thought everything was good, just the power going on and off at time during the night. The next morning I went outside and a tree was down in the sideyard, rippped up by the roots, and one of the barns had its roof blown off.

King of Talingarde

Yikes! Glad to hear no one's hurt at least.

Seriously. Seconded.

Also, i' feeling really stupid for overlooking the fact that one of the fish guys is casting... i really should have stuck an arrow in his chest. :(

Epic strategy fail!

Rules question-

Counterspelling is a Readied (standard) action, no matter what kind of spell you're countering.

The Summon Monster spell is a full round action, so it goes of on their action next round.

Do I use this round's action to counterspell it (even though it goes off next round), or do I use next round's action.

King of Talingarde

Hmm, good question. For now, I'm going to rule you counter at the moment of casting, so you would want to ready now to counter when the spell goes off next round. Mainly because you're lower on the initiative count and won't have another action to ready.

HP 49/37, AC 18, CMD 15, Fort +0, Ref +1, Will +5 Per +4 Channel 9/9, Grave Touch 8/8, Shirt 1/1, Vestments 1/1, Slippers 10/10 Current effects: Detect Magic, False Life, Mage Armor, Message, Spider Climb, Shield

That makes sense. I wasn't sure which one of them was casting and where they compared to me on the order.

Gwyn! Shulme! SMASH!

(Or Gwyn should do something to stay alive.. ya know, whichever. :D)

Also, Xzaral, do we suffer cover penalties for firing at the creatures in the water? I haven't fought in this situation very often, but i seem to remember there being some penalties involved... specifically for shooting from "land" at creatures partially submerged in water.

King of Talingarde
Pathfinder PRD wrote:
Attacks from Land: Characters swimming, floating, or treading water on the surface, or wading in water at least chest deep, have improved cover (+8 bonus to AC, +4 bonus on Reflex saves) from opponents on land. Land-bound opponents who have freedom of movement effects ignore this cover when making melee attacks against targets in the water. A completely submerged creature has total cover against opponents on land unless those opponents have freedom of movement effects. Magical effects are unaffected except for those that require attack rolls (which are treated like any other effects) and fire effects.

Based on that though, I'm going to say normal cover as they have enough aflot to fire at you.

Cool. Just want to make an informed decision. :)

On my last post I noted that I 5' adjusted away and Slave moved into my spot, but I forgot to move myself on the map. Just corrected that.

Whenever my Counterspell goes off, I'd like to take another 5' adjust.

We waiting on Jakes?

Hi guys, I'm moving across country so I'll be offline today and tomorrow. Feel free to NPC me as needed.

Updated...

Percep +4. Init +8 -- Hp 50/50. AC 18, t12, ff16. Fort+4, Ref+4, Will+6

Hi,

My laptop's screen has died. As such my posting ability is, while not zero, greatly impaired. Please feel free to NPC Shulme until I get a new one (hopefully circa Black Friday).

If your turn comes up and we don't see a post from you, we'll bot ya. (We'll try not to get you killed too badly)

In taht same spirit (and since Kalina said she was short on time), I threw Kalina's AoO agaisnt the water elemental up in the game thread. If you'd rather Kalina roll it, feel free to ignore it, Xzaral. Just trying to help things along.

King of Talingarde

I'm fine with whoever. The only reason I dont' roll 'em to get them out of the way is in case someone doesn't want to take one.

On that, I'll try to get gameplay updated tonight. My schedule got moved around (couple things happened at work), and had unknown to me errands this morning. Man, I feel like I've been making too many excuses as of late. Shakes fist to the sky, "Gimme some more free time!"

Joins the King in his fist-shaking. "Damn you sky! More time! MORE TIME!!"

HP: 38/38 AC 22/14/18: F+6, R +4, W+1*, Per:0, Init: +11

Thanks Cain. I assume the AoO was in response to the attempted Bull Rush?

Yep. :)

So, how long do we wait before we bot Fargo and his frog? has anyone heard from him?

King of Talingarde
Cain... wrote:

Giving until morning (mostly because I'm having trouble staying awake right now to make a post) then I'll move along.

I say we give Shulme and Kalina through today and this evening, then post for them if they haven't been able to put a post up.

Unless you'd prefer otherwise, of course, Xzaral.

King of Talingarde

Updated, I did DMPC Shulme as stated above about his laptop.

With Thanksgiving just around the corner, I don't really want to push too much on posts, so gonna wait to see if Kalina responds. I should've asked earlier what people's posting is going to be like for this week. I personally don't have too much (work everyday but Thursday, long day Friday for me). Thursday will be with alot of family, so not sure what I'll be able to do that day.

Okay, so i'm leaving in the morning to go down to my folks' place for Thanksgiving. Don't know how likely it'll be that I'll post tomorrow through Saturday.

Feel free to bot Cain as needed. :)

HP 49/37, AC 18, CMD 15, Fort +0, Ref +1, Will +5 Per +4 Channel 9/9, Grave Touch 8/8, Shirt 1/1, Vestments 1/1, Slippers 10/10 Current effects: Detect Magic, False Life, Mage Armor, Message, Spider Climb, Shield

A certain fishy someone is about to have a bad day...

ANything we can do to shut those casters down... the water elementals dont seem too hard to take down, but i'm not sure how many times those Tritons can summon them.

I'm gonna try to put another arrow or two in this one to the south.. I just don't like my odds of actually hitting him.

King of Talingarde

Sorry I haven't managed to get things moving, but this holiday has been busier than I thought. Managed a few small posts here and there, but might not get combat pushed ahead until Monday. Just giving a heads up.

Almost... out... Can... see... Oh crap that's a train.

Just a heads up, I may be going AWOL this week. DMPC me as needed.
