Fyi, still working through updating the crunch, but I went with Escape Route as well...

I like the scene, Xanos! Let's all give him a hand.

... he needs it. (you see what i did thar? i so funny!)

...this is going to be a recurring theme, isn't it...

Thanks for indulging me guys.

I would like to jump back to Gwyn's exuberance, but she's out of town.

Anyone else have any scenes they'd like to do until she gets back?

Female Half-elf Bard 1/Unchained Rogue 3 HP: 20/20 AC 14/10/14: F+2, R +9, W+6 (+2 vs. Enchantments), Per:+18, Init: +10

Nope I leave tomorrow.

Oh, well in that case lets finish this up. :)

HP: 38/38 AC 22/14/18: F+6, R +4, W+1*, Per:0, Init: +11

My triumphant return, of course!

Unfortunately, I need to wait whilst King Mark is plotting things....uh oh, I imagine its going to hurt. At least I have retained all limbs, to my knowledge - sorry Xanos.;-)

Whatever. I still have my limbs. It's just that not all of them are attached.

Don't worry though, I plan on making up for it...

Mark, is there anything in this world equivalent to a Burka, Habit, or full monk's robe? Do mourners wear funeral masks?

Mark, I asked this earlier but didn't see a reply. Did it get lost in the flood?

It did indeed get lost, but that's because I didn't have a good answer at first.

As this takes place on Golarion, I did a little research myself but couldn't find any good examples. I would personally say that indeed a monk's robe would not be too uncommon in my version of Talingarde, possibly draw a couple looks but nothing suspicious (well, if you're kicking puppies and burning down orphanages, it might be, but that's not the robe).

So yes, a monk's robe, as an example, would be available.

Schemeing in progress, just a heads up. I hope to have post up by tonight.

Alrighty, by the way, I'm back.

Excellent! Look forward to it.

Not to derail your efforts to move the game forward, but have you made any decisions about Cain's 3rd level Favored Community (or replacement) ability?

FYI - I'll be on a small vacation from Wednesday through next Monday. I probably won't be able to post. Feel free to bot me as needed. Go Team Evil!

Ok, follow up question-

With applications of Decompose Corpse, Taxidermy, Dust of Dryness or anything else I can come up with, would it be possible to dry out and clean the Draugr enough to remove it's stench ability?

I'm guessing generous applications of Prestigiditation ain't gonna cut it, huh?

Can we mask it with an even worse/stronger smell? Price's perfume, perhaps?

HP 21 | AC/T/FF 14/12/12 | CMD 17 | F+3 / R+3 / W+8 | Init +6; PER +10 | Image

Perfume. Are you mistaking this humble seamstress and your partner in crime for some tarted up strumpet?

:D

OH, hey, Price... thought you were on vacation.

Um.. nice to see you. Looking so lovely, too.

Female Half-elf Bard 1/Unchained Rogue 3 HP: 20/20 AC 14/10/14: F+2, R +9, W+6 (+2 vs. Enchantments), Per:+18, Init: +10

Oh lordy, I guess it's a good think Price doesn't know about Gwyn's new toys yet.

Gah Ninja'd!

And Price, Gwyn is a paragon of virtue as far as that is concerned. The toys I was referring to were the ones Gwyn showed Xanos, since he donated to the "Help Gwyn get nicer stuff fund."

Hey, Cain has a INT of 8... i'm just trying to roleplay him appropriately.

... yah, that's the ticket.

Did someone say desert?

INORITE?!

King of Talingarde

So desert or dessert? 'cause I like dessert ;p

HP 21 | AC/T/FF 14/12/12 | CMD 17 | F+3 / R+3 / W+8 | Init +6; PER +10 | Image

I like'em both. But I rarely enjoy a tasty desert after dinner - too dry.

Female Half-elf Bard 1/Unchained Rogue 3 HP: 20/20 AC 14/10/14: F+2, R +9, W+6 (+2 vs. Enchantments), Per:+18, Init: +10

Never been to a desert, or had one after supper. I like a nice big glass of sweet tea with most of my meals though.

...don't suppose I'm going to get an answer to my question after this incredibly intellectual discourse?

King of Talingarde

I would say no, you are going to get an answer. In fact, your answer is about to come now if you continue reading. So no, you will get one ;p

I'm actually going to go with a no, with circumstances, on this one. part of being a draugr is the seawater base of the creature. The nausea is because of this rancid touch of theirs, transmitted by the seawater.

That said, I would say you could alter the base form of the undead itself, changing it to a zombie stat-wise instead. This would make it slightly weaker, but remove the water based aspects of it.

HP 27/35, Temp HP 0, 3 str damage, AC: 11, Fort +02/ Ref +2 / Will +6, Perception:+5 Channel 8/8, Bolster 8/8, Infernal Healing 50/50, Command Undead 50/50. Active Effects: Fox's Cunning

So I can alter it to be a 3 HD Zombie? What if I scraped all the bones clean? Would it then be a skeleton?

Are we handwaving this, or are there checks I need to make?

King of Talingarde

Handwaving. Because it's cool.

HP 27/35, Temp HP 0, 3 str damage, AC: 11, Fort +02/ Ref +2 / Will +6, Perception:+5 Channel 8/8, Bolster 8/8, Infernal Healing 50/50, Command Undead 50/50. Active Effects: Fox's Cunning

In that case I'd like to turn it into a 3HD skeleton. Thanks.

Mmmmmmmaaakeooooover....

HP 27/35, Temp HP 0, 3 str damage, AC: 11, Fort +02/ Ref +2 / Will +6, Perception:+5 Channel 8/8, Bolster 8/8, Infernal Healing 50/50, Command Undead 50/50. Active Effects: Fox's Cunning

Do I base it on CR? A Draugr is a CR 2 creature with 3 HD. A 3 HD skeleton is only a CR 1.

King of Talingarde

3 HD skeleton

King of Talingarde

So yea, post up. Ended up re-writing it multiple times. Hope it makes sense, feel free to interact at various points in the events.

HP 27/35, Temp HP 0, 3 str damage, AC: 11, Fort +02/ Ref +2 / Will +6, Perception:+5 Channel 8/8, Bolster 8/8, Infernal Healing 50/50, Command Undead 50/50. Active Effects: Fox's Cunning

That loses a lot of power. All I really want to do is mask/get rid of the smell so I can disguise it.

For 500 GP I could make a permanent item of Prestidigitation that would alter it's scent to smell like whatever I wanted.

I can make Scentbane Incense for 40 gp a pop that will obscure scent for a minute or so at a time.

I can make Dust of Dryness for 425 GP that will suck up up to 100 gallons of stinky water (making a bead of concentrated stinky water that I could potentially use for all kinds of fun stuff).

I can coat the whole damn thing in taxidermy resin to basically turn the flesh into something more like plastic.

I can use Restore Corpse to make it back into a non-rotting corpse, or Decompose Corpse to clean the flesh off the bones.

Would any combination of these effects negate the Draugr's smell?

King of Talingarde

With three months to work on it, if you want to remove it's nausea to remove the smell, I suppose you could somehow work out something to do so and keep the remainder of the stats intact. So go ahead for it.

Makes plenty of sense. Thanks for including the details, I was worried for a moment before posting that I was meta-gaming a bit. (I have the first two of this AP and I am going to start a game tomorrow with some palyers who wanted an evil campaign.)

HP 27/35, Temp HP 0, 3 str damage, AC: 11, Fort +02/ Ref +2 / Will +6, Perception:+5 Channel 8/8, Bolster 8/8, Infernal Healing 50/50, Command Undead 50/50. Active Effects: Fox's Cunning

One more question/extrapolation for Mark before I finish up-

The rules for undead state that they "retains all the natural weapons, manufactured weapon attacks, and weapon proficiencies of the base creature, except for attacks that can't work without flesh."

The Draugr had a battleaxe, which means it must have possessed that proficiency in life.

Can I assume that it can use other martial weapons as well? What about armor proficiencies?

King of Talingarde

Great axe, not battle axe. And matrial weapons, light and medium armor

HP 27/35, Temp HP 0, 3 str damage, AC: 11, Fort +02/ Ref +2 / Will +6, Perception:+5 Channel 8/8, Bolster 8/8, Infernal Healing 50/50, Command Undead 50/50. Active Effects: Fox's Cunning

Ok, thanks

Get ready for the new, improved Slave of the Spiral!

It doesn't stink anymore! It doesn't drip anymore! Now it smells like leather and sandalwood!

It's wearing a thick wool monk's robe with a low hood and a nice scarf around its leathery neck. With the nice incense burner held in it's gloved hands and swinging on a short chain, it looks like a simple priest on a pilgrimage!

Under those robes its wearing Hide armor shaped to help it look like a normal human! No more emaciated hunchback!

Xanos has hollowed out its ribcage and sewn a chainmail bag inside it! The bottom of it sits nicely inside its pelvis. Now volatile chemicals and anything you wouldn't want to carry can be stuffed down the Slave's neck!

That sack also serves as a sheathe for the heavy iron club Slave can draw from inside it's chest when things get messy!

Here at Working Dead Enterprises, Xanos can custom design the walking corpse of your dreams! Get your very own undead slave today!
