Before I adjucate the trip, I need to know if Gwyn is counting for flanking for the trip or not. If she does, Cain gets the +2 but her bluff is over. If she does not, Cain does not get the flank bonus but she may still be bluffing him (depending on if she succeeded or not).

Well, he'd get the Flanking bonus, but not the bonus for attacking a Prone target. On the other hand, he rolled a 27. I think he can afford to lose a couple points.
Hey Gwyn, if you want to be extra awesome, you should totally Steal that fancy holy symbol instead of stabbing him. Then he can't heal, turn undead, or any of that other holy nonsense. :D

Sure, as soon as someone burns his AO for me. She may have 14 HP right now, but it only takes 22 points of damage to kill her, and if he smites he could make that. I don't trust my luck that much.
I've got to say, nice job on Sir Eldon. You saw the damage output he would have been able to do with his shield, imagine if he still had his sword! He's pretty lethal.
My home group fought him and did something similar. First round, everyone moved up to flank. Second round he dropped two players, they paniced. Round ended with him getting tripped (lucky 20 on it too!) Third round he stood up and they managed to knock him down by 1 point from AoOs.
Nice. I'm assuming he was Smiting there... or at least I HOPE he was smiting there. 8O
I may have to sneak into the Parchment 1 thread just to see how the other team fares against him. That dude was a beast.
The description of his Iomedae pendant... is that the goodie we are after?
If it is, guys, do you wanna roam the rest of this dungeon and have a little fun - in addition to picking up our bag of snakes obviously... and possibly giving Timeon his boss' head as a consolation prize?
Then were was that damage coming from. That was brutal. And I think his holy symbol was probably what we wanted. And I agree we might as well clear the dungeon, grab our snakes and have fun with timeon.
I know nothing specific, I just think it is one of those things that the boards were going on about a while ago before all the synthasists are better than fighters threats got started.

I recall there was a debate in the rules forum a while ago on whether some certain wording describing how you could use a shield as an off-hand weapon meant you couldn't use it as anything but. I don't know that it ever was resolved. Personally I don't see why someone shouldn't be able to 2h a shield.
And I'm all for clearing out the rest of the dungeon - after we loot him ;)
Last Saturday, my wife and I were watching The Tenth Kingdom and the protagonists knock out an adversary that had been chasing them and held one of them captive. They flee after knocking him out and fail to relieve him of his hunting knife and magic crossbow. I turned to my wife and told her it was ovoise none of them ever roll played. They would have cou de graced and then looted him.
That, or the writers watch way too many slasher flicks. :)
Honestly, when you knock out the homicidal maniac, don't run away. Finish him off in the most expedient way possible. If you've got a gun - empty the clip into him!

You absolutely can 2 hand a Sheild. In game it's a 1 handed weapon (which can all be 2 handed per RAW. Only Light weapons can't). Out of game, standard swat Sheild training involves some pretty awful 2handed Sheild techniques. (they are really vicious)
