Liberty's Edge

That's too bad - I LOVE flying. Always thought I was gonna be a pilot growing up. Ended up going to school as an English Major thinking I was gonna be a teacher, and then ended up in an IT career. Go figure.

I'd still love to get my pilot's license some day, but it's dang expensive. And I have kids, which are also dang expensive.

Anyways, have a good trip! We'll be here when you get back!

HP 45/45, AC- 18, Touch- 14, Flat- 14, CMD- 21, Fort- +6, Ref- +9, Will- +2, Percep- +7, Init- +4

I make my triumphant return... but the GM has now gone instead lol.

I feel you on the fear of flying GM. I took a 14 hour train ride followed by a 36 hour coach ride to not have to fly when I was making my way back. Saved some money, on the bright side.

King of Talingarde

Just checking in. Tomorrow I have off and will make sure to update all my games. Trying to get one in now quick (the advantage of a restless sleep I guess, lol).

One of the people heading here had a bird hit the front of their plane, I guess they dented it good and forced them to land. Not gonna lie, that makes me a tad nervous flying back, didn't think about anything like that before.

HP 45/45, AC- 18, Touch- 14, Flat- 14, CMD- 21, Fort- +6, Ref- +9, Will- +2, Percep- +7, Init- +4

*shudder* thank you for reinforcing my fear of flying...

Not in use

Living where I am, and working as what I do, one has to fly as otherwise one cannot actually get anywhere. Flying in big planes is a lot easier and smoother than some of the smaller ones they use for crewchange on oil rigs and whatnot. Had a fun flight in a twenty seater as we raced ahead of a pretty impressive stormfront... not sure if it was going to swallow us up and make the flight even more fun before we landed.

I've been on a train that hit a sheep before... poor thing's ribcage rattled all the way back through the undercarriage.

This is what came to my mind when you mentioned boy.

King of Talingarde

Back and getting ready to do some updates. Expect them soon.

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

I think it's cool the way you can at least know something as long as you roll marginally good. I like those kinda spoilers.

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

As per Beatrix's opinion on the spoilers, I'm more for you just putting them out there and we roll for them ourselves like you did. That's just me though.

It just seems more fun that way, to me.

King of Talingarde

What does the map seem to be doing, Alazandaru? I just loaded it up and it seemed fine on my end, but anything I can do to fix it I will.

HP 45/45, AC- 18, Touch- 14, Flat- 14, CMD- 21, Fort- +6, Ref- +9, Will- +2, Percep- +7, Init- +4

It was only loading the tokens. Its probably a work firewall thing.

King of Talingarde

Beatrix, I will be sending you a PM shortly.

Not in use

Aaaand Beatrix is turned into kibble - greataxe crits hurt... alot.

King of Talingarde

Yea, I get very leary of anything using a x3 weapon. My first PC death in my table-top Way of the Wicked game was with a Halberd.

Liberty's Edge

Rolling for tentative replacement character.

1d10 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
1d10 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
1d10 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
1d10 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12

Ick. I guess I'll try point buy.

I've been following along this game with two of my favorite posters in it and all I have to say is: ouch.

Oh, get the heck out, AK. I know your characters never sound retreat, but this is ridiculous. Then again, given your usual dice luck, you'll probably take out the other 7 single-handedly without getting a scratch. :P

Sovereign Court

Jeez people, he was just fighting to let you retreat safely and get ready to shut the door etc... I don't feel that enough time has passed for warnings like that tbh. You literally only six seconds ago shouted for him to retreat.

Not in use

Well to be fair it only took the draugr twelve seconds to cut down Morthos and eviscerate Beatrix ;)

But we've bought ourselves a momentary reprieve... let's hope they aren't smart enough to cut down the door.

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

I have to admit, these are some of THE toughest challenges I have ever been in at such a low level.

We've got con damage at 1st/2nd level and destructo crits to go along with it. I'll confess, this level of big-badness is new to me. Of course, KM is rolling like AK which is totally bad for us.

As per Beatrix, I really hate the fact she got killed. That stinks. I liked Beatrix.

And I know you mentioned in Joana's recruit thread, Buggula, that you're not sure if you are going to continue due to a lack of an idea for a new pc, but I'd hate to see you go, bud. I feel like this is a good group of 5 that runs quite well together.

Liberty's Edge

I appreciate the vote of confidence! Of course, if you liked Beatrix, you're welcome to follow the good version of her in my Kingmaker campaign. She's alive and well.

I'm still trying to come up with a new idea. I'm much better at coming up with good or neutral characters than evil ones - and I find the evil deities especially distasteful (which is why I made Beatrix relatively agnostic). The weekend's been a bit hectic for me and I haven't really been able to think about it much though. I'll keep working on it and see what I can come up with.

Liberty's Edge

I actually had a dream that I had come up with the perfect character to replace Beatrix in this campaign - and I remember that it was a halfling monk zen archer, but unfortunately (as dreams tend to be) I don't remember much else. Either way, I'm going to start in that direction and see what backstory I can come up with.

Is it sad that I'm dreaming about D&D?

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

Psst! Buggula! Yes. Yes it is. :)

King of Talingarde

Just a heads up, I'm waiting on a confirmation on how you all wish to proceed at this point. Not to poke or prod or anything ;p

I'm assuming we're going to rest if we determine we've found a safe place to do so. My original thought was that a more judicious spell selection might be helpful, but looking at Tatya's spells known, they're almost all mind-affecting and not terribly useful vs. undead. She can at least load up on healing. Instead of heading straight back to the undead room, we could try the other door and hope the pendant we're looking for isn't in one of the coffins? Fighting undead things with greataxes doesn't seem to play to our strengths. :P

Liberty's Edge

If I get my replacement character finished, did you want to introduce me somewhere in the dungeon or not until after they get out?

King of Talingarde

There's a couple ways of introduction. PM me with the link to the alias, and we'll discuss it.

HP 45/45, AC- 18, Touch- 14, Flat- 14, CMD- 21, Fort- +6, Ref- +9, Will- +2, Percep- +7, Init- +4

Beatrix, clearly you want to play the squire, amiright? ;)

Timeon the Terrible? It would certainly solve our conundrum about what to do with him. ;)

Liberty's Edge

Rolling HP for level 2:

1d4 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

Liberty's Edge

How much money will I have for equipment? The standard 1,000gp for lvl 2?

King of Talingarde

That is correct.

Male Halfling Monk (Zen Archer) 3

Ok, meet Aedorn, Beatrix's replacement. Halfling Zen Archer, raised among nobility.

Just so you guys know, I struggled to do this. Evil is really difficult for me. I think this is a concept I can work with though.

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

Hey man, you ain't alone. I have a hard time myself playing an evil dude. It's tough. I'm there with you, bro.

Male Gnome Sorcerer/9 - (HP: 34/46 - AC19;FF16;T17 - F+5;R+6;W+7 - Init+9 - Per+11)

Raises his hand - hey, if you do not want to be evil, I will happily stab you in the back and take your place. Tirion checks his list of split personalities to figure which would fit best.

King of Talingarde

Hey, I get to be the good guys in this adventure! Wait, I did just use undead in that last battle, and they're usually evil....

Liberty's Edge

Haha, how many lurkers do we have following this game? I think that's at least two that have popped out of the woodwork and posted in here.

HP 45/45, AC- 18, Touch- 14, Flat- 14, CMD- 21, Fort- +6, Ref- +9, Will- +2, Percep- +7, Init- +4

Me and Joana are PbP celebrities, did no one tell you? :P

I used to have a fan club. ;)

EDIT: Tongue out of cheek, fairly certain that the AP is the draw in this case. WotW is very popular; everyone wants to be the bad guy.

Male Gnome Sorcerer/9 - (HP: 34/46 - AC19;FF16;T17 - F+5;R+6;W+7 - Init+9 - Per+11)

I'm not stalking anyone. Ok, maybe Mark . . . and AK . . . and Xzaral. But that is it. Although if I find what campaigns the rest of you are in, I will definitely add you to the "to be stalked" list.

And yeh, since this is one of the best Evil campaigns, It would be fun to get into. And since there are only 3 active WotW campaigns - Xzaral's 2 and Dm VoV's - it makes the stalking pretty easy.

King of Talingarde

I actually just went through my PM box, and based on what I can tell, besides Tirion and Gary, there's about 5 other stalkers, er observers between the two games.

My ego score got a +2 morale bonus from that ;)

King of Talingarde

One more thing, tonight I'll be sending out a PM to Count Buggula to get him worked. Just letting you know all know. Just needed to figure out one last thing story-wise.

Liberty's Edge

Wohoo! I'm getting worked!

Not ignoring you, Count Buggula, but I don't think any of us have a +11 Perception to even have a chance of hitting a 31 DC.

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

That ain't no joke. With that kind of roll, Morthos couldn't see you if you tapped him on the shoulder and said, "Hello." :P

Nasty stealth at 2nd level, dude.

Liberty's Edge

Haha, I know. I honestly didn't expect to roll that high. Halflings are sneaky fellers.

Bostarg Halvardonwine wrote:

Western door; sorry. I have a negative Survival score IRL and no sense of direction. I usually doublecheck myself before making a post with a point of the compass in it, but that doesn't always help, obviously. :P

I was going to get all excited that we had an archer now to use those magical arrows we found, but can you fire Medium arrows from a Small longbow? Or is resizing part of the magic?

HP 45/45, AC- 18, Touch- 14, Flat- 14, CMD- 21, Fort- +6, Ref- +9, Will- +2, Percep- +7, Init- +4

Roll-off on the cloak anyone? My will save scares me.

Female Human Witch 3 / Rogue (Poisoner) 1

+4 +7 +0, Mr. 58-Point-Buy? My +0 +1 +2 weeps for you. ;D

Although there is the added consideration that if Tatya gets dominated, there's literally nothing she can do to hurt the rest of the party. Back off or she'll infernal healing you again. :P
