That's too bad - I LOVE flying. Always thought I was gonna be a pilot growing up. Ended up going to school as an English Major thinking I was gonna be a teacher, and then ended up in an IT career. Go figure.
I'd still love to get my pilot's license some day, but it's dang expensive. And I have kids, which are also dang expensive.
Anyways, have a good trip! We'll be here when you get back!
I make my triumphant return... but the GM has now gone instead lol.
I feel you on the fear of flying GM. I took a 14 hour train ride followed by a 36 hour coach ride to not have to fly when I was making my way back. Saved some money, on the bright side.
Just checking in. Tomorrow I have off and will make sure to update all my games. Trying to get one in now quick (the advantage of a restless sleep I guess, lol).
One of the people heading here had a bird hit the front of their plane, I guess they dented it good and forced them to land. Not gonna lie, that makes me a tad nervous flying back, didn't think about anything like that before.
Living where I am, and working as what I do, one has to fly as otherwise one cannot actually get anywhere. Flying in big planes is a lot easier and smoother than some of the smaller ones they use for crewchange on oil rigs and whatnot. Had a fun flight in a twenty seater as we raced ahead of a pretty impressive stormfront... not sure if it was going to swallow us up and make the flight even more fun before we landed.
I've been on a train that hit a sheep before... poor thing's ribcage rattled all the way back through the undercarriage.
Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness
As per Beatrix's opinion on the spoilers, I'm more for you just putting them out there and we roll for them ourselves like you did. That's just me though.
Oh, get the heck out, AK. I know your characters never sound retreat, but this is ridiculous. Then again, given your usual dice luck, you'll probably take out the other 7 single-handedly without getting a scratch. :P
Jeez people, he was just fighting to let you retreat safely and get ready to shut the door etc... I don't feel that enough time has passed for warnings like that tbh. You literally only six seconds ago shouted for him to retreat.
Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness
I have to admit, these are some of THE toughest challenges I have ever been in at such a low level.
We've got con damage at 1st/2nd level and destructo crits to go along with it. I'll confess, this level of big-badness is new to me. Of course, KM is rolling like AK which is totally bad for us.
As per Beatrix, I really hate the fact she got killed. That stinks. I liked Beatrix.
And I know you mentioned in Joana's recruit thread, Buggula, that you're not sure if you are going to continue due to a lack of an idea for a new pc, but I'd hate to see you go, bud. I feel like this is a good group of 5 that runs quite well together.
I appreciate the vote of confidence! Of course, if you liked Beatrix, you're welcome to follow the good version of her in my Kingmaker campaign. She's alive and well.
I'm still trying to come up with a new idea. I'm much better at coming up with good or neutral characters than evil ones - and I find the evil deities especially distasteful (which is why I made Beatrix relatively agnostic). The weekend's been a bit hectic for me and I haven't really been able to think about it much though. I'll keep working on it and see what I can come up with.
I actually had a dream that I had come up with the perfect character to replace Beatrix in this campaign - and I remember that it was a halfling monk zen archer, but unfortunately (as dreams tend to be) I don't remember much else. Either way, I'm going to start in that direction and see what backstory I can come up with.
I'm assuming we're going to rest if we determine we've found a safe place to do so. My original thought was that a more judicious spell selection might be helpful, but looking at Tatya's spells known, they're almost all mind-affecting and not terribly useful vs. undead. She can at least load up on healing. Instead of heading straight back to the undead room, we could try the other door and hope the pendant we're looking for isn't in one of the coffins? Fighting undead things with greataxes doesn't seem to play to our strengths. :P
Raises his hand - hey, if you do not want to be evil, I will happily stab you in the back and take your place. Tirion checks his list of split personalities to figure which would fit best.
I'm not stalking anyone. Ok, maybe Mark . . . and AK . . . and Xzaral. But that is it. Although if I find what campaigns the rest of you are in, I will definitely add you to the "to be stalked" list.
And yeh, since this is one of the best Evil campaigns, It would be fun to get into. And since there are only 3 active WotW campaigns - Xzaral's 2 and Dm VoV's - it makes the stalking pretty easy.
I actually just went through my PM box, and based on what I can tell, besides Tirion and Gary, there's about 5 other stalkers, er observers between the two games.
One more thing, tonight I'll be sending out a PM to Count Buggula to get him worked. Just letting you know all know. Just needed to figure out one last thing story-wise.
"There is no pendant... and only one passage left to explore" pointing to the West while within the chamber where the dead rose.
Western door; sorry. I have a negative Survival score IRL and no sense of direction. I usually doublecheck myself before making a post with a point of the compass in it, but that doesn't always help, obviously. :P
Beatrix had the following: Guard uniform, 50' silk rope, hooded lantern, masterwork backpack, masterwork breastplate, longbow, 19 arrows, masterwork greatsword, +1 Cloak of Resistance, potion of cure moderate wounds, oil of magic weapon.
I was going to get all excited that we had an archer now to use those magical arrows we found, but can you fire Medium arrows from a Small longbow? Or is resizing part of the magic?
+4 +7 +0, Mr. 58-Point-Buy? My +0 +1 +2 weeps for you. ;D
Although there is the added consideration that if Tatya gets dominated, there's literally nothing she can do to hurt the rest of the party. Back off or she'll infernal healing you again. :P
