With Strange Aeons Even Death May Die

We each dwell upon an island forged by our ignorance amidst the black seas of infinity. Should your feeble mind correlate the seemingly disassociated contents of your skull, thus affording you an opportunity to leave your island behind, terrifying vistas of reality will entomb you and you will never know peace.

It was only a matter of time...every species can smell its own extinction. The last ones left won't have a pretty time of it.

" I think it is the best choice, that and if Storm is looking for Ssilax that is the best place that she would be at, since that is the last place we have left any tracks. " Daxniss says over the roar of the incoming storm that is currently wreaking havoc in the area.

Ssilax starts his casting the first of the of Teleport spells that will get the party to the hunk of some star metal and iron that fell and buried itself. Ssilax's first spell gets the group close to where the rock lies, after the second spell the group has arrived to at their destination, and not much has changed except the fact that Storm is currently standing watch at the campsite that the used before going on the extra planar travels.

Male Dragonkin Cleric/Wizard level 12

"Well, the impact site left a fairly strong impression upon my memory," Ssilax had said to Argon, with a grin on his snout. "That, and Sanctuary might have some wards that displace teleport spells. That is one of the many things about or home that I have not investigated fully.' the dargonkin had added before finished up the first of his teleports.

Letting the wave of dizziness pass, Ssilax looks around, feeling rather pleased with himself. That was the first time he had teleported anyone, let alone back to back teleporting.

"See? Aside from a little dizziness, we are all here, in the same shape we left as," Ssilax ignores the sound of Dog losing his lunch.

Blinking a few times he looks around, catching sight of Storm watching over their old campsite. He noticed that she wore an expression bordering between the realms of relief, happiness, and anger. 'I think I might be trouble. I really should have sent her a message,' Ssilax thinks to himself, surprised he had forgotten to do so.

"I might have forgot to mention, it is possible that we might have been gone a little longer than we think. Time has been known to flow differently on different planes." Ssilax looks at his friends and smiles, looking rather embarrassed he had forgotten to mention the thought when it had occurred to him back in Sigil.

"Hello, Storm," Ssilax greets the elf, a warm smile spreading across his snout. "Sorry, we ended up in Sigil, and a few other planes, and quite a few things have happen during the last two weeks." Pausing, he looks at the lovely elf, and sheepishly adds, "And I am truly sorry for not sending you a message, but in my defense, I was a very busy."

"Umm, it has only been two week since we left, has it not?" Ssilax asks after a few moments of being silently glared at by the druid.

Game master

" Aye, perhaps that would have been a good idea, you were a week overdue, not surprisingly as the trek here is difficult to say the least. I circled back to where you all last had footprints and you vanished from the ground. I figured that you would be back sooner or later since thwre was no signs of combat or blood, I figured that something came up. " Storm says coolly and looks at Ssilax.
" Perhaps next time you leave this plane you make sure I'm going with you or at least let me know you are still breathing. " Storm finishes with a smile, her anger set aside at the moment of seeing Ssilax alive and well.

Male Argon Gestalt Slayer-Cleric 12

Argon smiles and greets Storm. "We were pulled away, quite by surprise. And then there were some... complications. Ssilax just feels guilty because we actually learned things, and enjoyed it to a degree. But I think we're all glad to be home, right Dog?"

He wanders around, looking at Storm and then at the big stone, wondering about how to cut it up into movable pieces.

Game master

Storm shakes her head at Argon's words and gives a snort and says " Look I'll hear more about your vacation to other planes, now what is so important about this bloody rock, besides the fact it is not natural. " Storm finishes with a cocked eyebrow while looking at the three of you.
Everyone has made note that the surrounding area seems to be returning more fully back to life, aince it has been some time since everyone was last on Sel Torin. Life seems to be returning back to this section of the world still, it would seem that your trip did allow the world mkre time to heal.

Male Argon Gestalt Slayer-Cleric 12

"The metal itself should have some special properties, that's all. Plus, some strange creature came with it, said our names, gave us some dire warnings, and then attacked us. Later, a storm appeared at the stone and transported us to that other world, Golarion," says Argon, recalling it vividly.

The group spends hours talking about the things that they had seen to Storm, what haf brought them to Golarion amd beyond, certians details can be kept to themselves if needed.

"Oh, the rock fell from the above the sky, from outside the planet, its core is star metal, at least we are pretty certain it is," Ssilax explains after releasing the druid from a hug and a nuzzle. Dog ran around the two excitedly, tail wagging furiously.

Ssilax goes over what the group had been up to over the last few weeks, managing to keep himself on track during the conversation. The cleric of Nethys avoided going off into explanations about theories during the walk back. The dragonkin does his best to describe Sigil, although the sight is better witnessed first hand. Ssilax goes over the deal that the group had made to restore the balance of their own plane by freeing a number of portals that where in the clawed grip of several devil and demon factions.

"More or less, the demonic and devil agents on our plane are attempting to create permanent open portals to the Abyss and the Hells. This also cuts our plane off from the divine agents that are trying to stop them. Basically, we were hired to restore the planar balance," Ssilax had mentioned rather casually during his description of the inn they had stayed at.

The young dragonkin proudly tells of their journey to actually rescue Dainoth. Who, as it had turned out, didn't really need so much rescuing, more of an explanation as to why they had cut a path through a number of his defenses and guards. Still it had been an overdue, and heartfelt reunion, in which Wrathe had decided to stay behind to aid the Arch-Mage.

"And than we traveled to a prime material plane called Faerun to find the portal to our plane. The place we had found the portal was actually one of Dainoth's old towers. Once we cleansed the portal, the magical guardians where able to restore it, and reactivate the wards. Traveling through that portal, we found ourselves back home, on an island with a ruined city. Where another corrupted portal is hidden," Ssilax pauses to look at Storm, a grin curving the length of his muzzle. "Nothing too exciting, just another ordinary day."

Game master

" Well s!~%e! Things might be changing to say the least. " Storm says with a chuckle... " I'm glad that all you are safe and back home to say the least. " Storm says with a hint of caustic edge but smirks to ease the insult l.

After everything that has happened to the party, there is a sense of normality to wveryone as Storm informs the party that they are a week overdue from traveling from Calshaim. As the party ponders what could have changed in their absence and things appear to be normal... for Sel Torin.

Male Argon Gestalt Slayer-Cleric 12

Argon stands and stretches, reminiscent of a cat. "We should talk in the comfort of our own castle. I'm hungry, too. Can you bring us home?" he asks Sssilax.

Game master

Storm informs the group that not much has changed in their absence, the city is slowly starting to change it's view points rhanks to in part to what the party had been fighting for. Storm also reports that only this section of the world is starting to change back to a more livable area. Not much has been heard from the other land masses, the void of power from the invasion and the birth of new god is still being felt.

Male Dragonkin Cleric/Wizard level 12

"Absolutely, one moment," Ssilax says, gently freeing his clawed hand from Storm's. The dragonkin's thoughts have been picking at the new information that Storm had relayed. He would have to talk to the others about the power vacuum that had grown.

The last thing they needed was a repeat of the what had been the normal rulership. Not too mention they had Sanctuary to make sure didn't devolve.

Gathering up his arcane energies begins to shape his teleport spell.

"Alright, everyone gather hands," Ssilax says before casting his spell. He feels Dog put his paw on his foot.

Game master

Ssilax's teleport spell goes off without a hitch, taking the group from their current location and transporting them to the courtyard instead of the catacombs that he is the most familiar with, rightfully thinking that the others wanted to spend as little time there as possible. Once everyone spends a moment peering around their new location, they see that the groups Castle. Everyone is surprised at the state of the upkeep while they had been away, everyone knew that Daxniss had been adding to the city itself, doing a lot of rebuilding over the course of months, the sentry spirts seem to be doing a patrol of the keep grounds itself.

Game master

Everyone looks through the open door to see the town and can see the city is prosperous in their time away from this plane. After all of the group's time and efforts in the last year, everyone can see guard patrols in the city, keeping watch for monsters trying to attack the newly formed city.
Ssilax is startled to say the least as he sees two dragonkin walking around, Storm smiles at seeing Ssilax poleaxed at seeing others of his kin here. After all, he had spent years looking for others of his ilk.

Game master

Daxniss drifts off from the group letting Ssilax gather himself upon the sight of seeing others of his race. As she walks away she pulls her Lyre out and heads towards the town, stopping briefly to pull out a notebook that she had written down some of Argon's suggestions fpr creating a defensible strong point.
" I imagine there will be much to talk about, I'll spend time improving rhe town itself and be back at the dinner table later tonight. " Daxniss throws a wink at the others and keeps moving.
Argon can see that there are nore Dragonkin in the town itself thanks to his trqining, can also see a few membera of his own race, how they got here is a mystry in itself.
In total it looks like there are about 10 dragonkin that xan be seen, along with 10 of Argon's race as well, no one can see any Wrymtouched in the citu but then again it is only midday.

Hearing Dax speak, Ssilax snaps his open maw, his sharp teeth audible clicking. Blinking his eyes a few times, a complex storm of emotions briefly appear upon his scaled visage. Relief, happiness, bitter sweet memories from his past, the lose of his family all fought for the emotional main stage in his mind. Leaning against a nearby wall, Ssilax takes a deep and slowly lets it out as he eyes the pair of dragonkin.

For a brief half of a heartbeat, the Masked cleric's eyes narrow in suspicion, as if he didn't quite believe what he was seeing.

Closing his eyes and shaking his head as if that would help to clear his thoughts, the dragonkin opens his sapphire orbs appearing calmer.

"That sounds like a good plan," Ssilax says a few moments after Dazniss had begun to walk away. He surmised that she was off to use the magic of the lute to hasten the construction taking place. "I believe I will introduce myself to the dragonkin. I am curious to know where they come from." While Ssilax wears a slight smile on his scaled muzzle, there is a hint of steel in his voice. Ssilax was more than a little curious to know where they had been hiding.

Walking over to the dragonkin, his arm linking with Storm's and Dog trailing lazily behind the two, Ssilax makes his way over. Greeting the two, the dragonkin introduces Storm, Dog, and himself and begins a conversation.

As Ssilax approaches the two Dragonkin that he can see, that are clearly working on crafting a well using magics, they stop as he gets closer, one is dressed in female garb but smells male while the other one is dressed in robes. Ssilax makes note that both Dragonkin are male by their scent, something that he had forgotten since he hasn't smelled other dragonkin in a very long time.
Both Dragonkins are scales are note nearly as shiny as Ssilax, both are more muted in tones almost as if they had used an alchemical solution to help hide their scales. Both of them Bow their heads lower then what is considered a standard greeting to an equal, and wait for Ssilax to open up the conversation.

Male Argon Gestalt Slayer-Cleric 12

After spending some time in his room near the forge, resting, cleaning his gear and eating a good home-cooked meal, Argon does a thorough inspection of the grounds, reminding himself of the defences. He notices that through his experiences in other, very different places (such as Sigil), he has a different perspective, wider view of things, than he had previously. He makes mental notes as he goes, with hope to implement fixes and improvements to the castle. He wonders if they should hire a few stonemasons.

After the castle inspection, he heads into the city to meet the people. He keeps his eyes open for Me'lar, or her father Graff. At this point he just wants to see what everyone is building and what they're doing. He hopes they are not keeping bad old habits from Caern. He hopes to see some reading, as Wrathe had started teaching.

Male Dragonkin Cleric/Wizard level 12

"I had thought I was the last of our race. I was unable to find more than historical note of our people when traveling the planes. Never have I been so happy to be so completely mistaken," Ssilax says with a broad smile cutting across his Masked muzzle. "Thank Nethys I was wrong," the dragonkin says with a chuckle.

Mentally, Ssilax stores what he had been learning concerning the creation of a race of beings in the depths of his mind.

"It does me worlds of good to see another dragonkin, let alone two! Please, tell me about yourselves, and where you came from. How did you happen to find Sanctum? Have anymore of our people come here?"" Ssilax excitedly asks, having switched to his native tongue. He knew Storm would be able to easily follow the conversation, so he didn't feel as though the druid would be excluded from the conversation.

Stopping, Ssilax takes a breath, chuckling and shaking his head slightly.

"My apologies, I am a bit excited," the dragonkin says with a grin. "Would you like some assistance with creating the well?" Ssilax offers his aid.

The cleric of Nethys tries to be patient for their response. It is a mighty test of his willpower, but he manages to succeed. A few thousand other questions where bouncing around in his skull, but he would get to those later. The dragonkin's sapphire orbs never trail far from the two dragonkin as if the might vanish into the ether if he took his gaze off them for two long.

Ssilax thinks about their behavior and responses, observing and analyzing, trying to glean more information from their mannerisms and appearance.

Upon hearing Ssilax's words the " female" chuckles and says to Ssilax " After many culls against our race brother, we hid ourselves deep underground, miles and miles we traveled on our pilgrimage to the depths of the world. Some stayed a few miles below the surface thinking that humans wouldn't find them, some tribes stayed closer hoping to simply hide deep in the forests away from Man. We lost contact with many of our tribe mates over the years, and finally those of us with enough magical strength fashioned portals to leave this world, before many of our race left, we came with to the agreement that we would hide in other planes, burying as much knowledge about our race as possible. " She pauses and the other Dragonkin takes over for her.
" There would be a cost to the traveling, some would have to stay behind to dismantle the portals so no Man could follow and keep up with their slaughter of us, many of our tribemates are still asleep and we brought those of us that had woken from our slumber back to the surface, to see if there was any change. Imagine our surprise when we found the being that had woken us from our slumber from the ages was a dragon, smashing a statue, she brought us here after explaining that there was a city that had another Dragonkin, along with his family. " He stops and than chuckles.
" It has been a long time, my name is Naflixss, and this is Visznoxiths, we have brought those that were awake to this city and offer our assistance to you. " Naflixss says with a bow of his head.

Argon:

Argon makes his circuit of the grounds, seeing that Rygear had brought a number of trusted guards with him and Argon feel a sense of pride swell in his chest and seeing various humanoids training together, his fear of bad habits from humans acting as they did in other cities is quickly put to rest. Everyone that comes to the city has an understanding that this is a welcome to those that are not strictly human.
As Argon looks around he can see many people working together building houses, magic is being used freely both Divine and Arcane, Argon spots Daxniss playing her loot and consulting with a book when she stops playing, Daxniss' lute while it is being played is constructing buildings, helping fix walls, and laying stonework down for a road as well.
Argon also makes note of a few Alman here and there, not many but it would seem that members of his race have found a way to his home. Before he can move forward and greet them, Argon hears the sound of running footsteps as he turns he sees Me'lar running towards him.

Daxniss lets out a sigh glad to be using her lute again, glad to be focusing on something that would help the city and their home as well. Daxniss keeps moving around until she spots one of her agents, she stops playing the loot and flashes a few hand signals at the agent.
Daxniss frowns as she moves forward as she had left enough orders that would keep the guild safe and operating for at least a month. Daxniss growls under her breath and knows that she will have to make a few items that would allow for communication over great distances to assist her plans.

Male Argon Gestalt Slayer-Cleric 12

Argon is struck dumb at the surprise of Me'lar running in his direction. She has grown, as has he, but is now more beautiful, more womanly though still a child in some ways. He greets her as warmly as she greets him, shy and tentative about her intentions.

He asks about what and how she has been doing, and asks after her father as well. It seems the inhabitants of the city are all doing well. Graff's skills with metal would be useful here; though Argon never saw his handiwork directly, it seemed all of the metalworkers of his strange underground town had taken great pride in all their metalwork. Argon had assumed Graff would be no different. A part of Argon is jealous, a bit, at the opportunity to concentrate on something with a single mind, fully, and not worry about dragons, demons, or world eating behemoths.

Before he realizes it he has invited Me'lar to dinner at the castle, and her father too, and hopes there is someone there who can cook for them all. He would have to see to that, now. He looks forward to explaining about Rivven of Ebberon to Graff, and smiles at the thought.

Me'lar manages to tell Argon all sorts of things in their brief renioun things that Argon knows has no baring, but knows that she is glad to see him. Me'lar also informs him that Graff managed to make it here as well the young woman is talking a mile a minute to Argon and does manage to invite both her and Graff to the castle for dinner, a number of hours have passed and Daxniss pokes her head from the kitchen, she gives a mock frown and an unseen voice asks Argon what he and his guests would like for dinner.

It takes a matter of a few minutes before the well had been completed, Ssilax turns to Naflixss and Visznoxiths, nods to them and smiles.

"Let us continue speaking on the way back to the town. I would like to met the others that have arrived," Ssilax says looking at the developing town near the the base of the mountain. It was hard to miss the buildings backlit by lavafall.

Talking with the two dragonkin, Ssilax eyes the developing town as they walk through it. The dragonkin Mask of Nethys returns the greetings that are sent his way. It is not long before they get to the dwelling that the group of dragonkin are making their home.

Spending a very pleasant few hours with members of his race, Storm, Ssilax and Dog take their leave. Ssilax ends up inviting Naflixss and Visznoxiths to the castle for an informal dinner. It would give them more of a chance to talk about their time in Sanctuary.

As the three are casually walking back up the long path of stairs leading to the castle. Ssilax is telling Storm of the adventures that they had encountered walking the planes. Before long, Storm leans close to the dragonkin and says something quietly. A wide, almost foolish looking grin speaks across his muzzle. Leaning down slightly, the dragonkin nuzzles the elven druid's cheek. With a flourish of his fingers and a string of arcane words the three vanish. A few motes of magical energy float whimsically in the air before winking out of existence.

Later in the evening, at the normal hour the group ate in the castle's main dining chamber, Ssilax sits near Storm the two chatting about nothing. Having scrapped the leagues of planer travel from his scales and buffed them to a glossy shine a relaxed looking Ssilax has donned a clean robe. It mirrors the black and white of the Mask of Nethys that covers his snouted face.

At the sound of armor approaching, the dragonkin looks over to see one of the animate armors escorting Naflixss and Visznoxiths. After announcing the two in a surprisingly baritone voice for a hollow suit of armor, it turns and marches back to its post.

"Welcome! Please, make yourselves comfortable, the unseen servants will be along in a few moments. Allow me to introduce the others," the dragonkin smile curves his muzzle as he greets the two and waves to the vaquent seats. He had been pleasantly surprised to see to some old friends at the table when he and the druid had first arrived.

"Did you have a chance to speak with the others concerning things you need?" Ssilax asks the two dragonkin. "We are still building the town and everything is a bit chaotic at the moment, " he says with a slight chuckle.

Daxniss finally comes out of the kitchen, sipping from a tankard a dark brew that smells strongly like a spirit but has the consistancy of an ale, she takes a seat at the table and pulls out her journal and an ink quill. Daxniss looks at the others and nods a greeting towards everyone and mutters a few words under her breath and then says " Hello everyone, once we have a few free moments after dinner I'll inform everyone about what I've been building and we can make plans for what we want to add or change in the city. "
Daxniss blinks a few times at seeing other Dragonkin and smiles at Ssilax, glad that he managed to find a few other members of his race in the city, as he had no information about others of his race in Sel Torin.

Naflixss and Visnoxiths were at first slightly worried about being escorted to the castle by the hollow armor are put at ease by seeing everyone at the table relaxed and plates of food are starting to appear on the table. As they both take a seat after Ssilax's words Naflixss says " Right now making sure that the others have a secure place is important, I'm sure that something suitable can be crafted, some of the others are a bit shy, after spending so much time asleep they have little desire to speak with others, time and adjustment is the important things at the moment. " Naflixss says while looking around at the table and the others.

Naflixss goes on talking about various things he had noticed that were completely different from other cities that he had spent time hiding in and observing. Everything in this city that the group has made is more of everyone working together, each adding more to the city and not a power structure that is based only on humans. Naflixss has made note that everyone feels safe here, from the freed slaves to the non humans that have arrived here.
Daxniss informs the group that there is a few merchants that have made the trek to the city to sell their supplies and to purchase from the city itself. Argon remembers seeing a number of forges in the city and that there are reports of a mine that is being worked in, food was at first going to be a problem but thanks to Storm and a few others that the city will have little trouble making harvests.
Daxniss also tells everyone that a number of rangers have been helping out to make the passage to the city a little easier and there are a number of patrols as well in the city. Daxniss also tells the others that she will be working on building a wall around the city as well as a number of watch posts outside that will be manned and will have a way to communicate with others through magic badges.

Glancing around at the dinning room, Ssilax remembers what the chamber looked like before the group of friends had spent almost a month cleaning out the castle. Given that it had been the lich lords hone and base of operations for hundreds of years, the less he thought about the horrible experiments they had uncovered, not too mention mess, the better. Despite the castle and surrounding areas intimidating appearance, it felt like home.

Returning his gaze and thoughts to their company, Ssilax smiles as he listens to the others speak.

"I am glad to hear people are treating each like sentient beings and working together. I am certain that we all are happy that is the case," the young dragonkin says with a warm smile. "I have a few ideas for building I would like to establish as the town develop. I think some form of school should considered, along the lines of general education," the dragonkin pauses to take a drink from his wine cup. "Also to help dispell racial prejudices between different species. I am still working out the finer details on that one, probably something for a later date. More importantly, a hospital and place to teach healing arts." Ssilax taps the side of Masked snout as he thinks.

Looking over to Argon, Ssilax nods at his friend.

"We will have to sit down and design a sewer system. I have a few ideas, but I am a rather poor engineer," the dragonkin says with rueful grin. "Not to mention what we are going to do about developing a guard force, and so many other things, including reaching those portals," Ssilax muses outloud. "The three of us are going be very busy over the coming months," the dragonkin says with chuckle and a shake of his head.

Male Argon Gestalt Slayer-Cleric 12

Argon has much to say about city sewers and defences, as he's always studied engineering on the side, as he went. But not tonight.

He escorts Me'lar and Graff to their small stone forge and home, still unfinished but operating busily as there is much to forge. He leaves them with promises to visit soon.

He heads back to the castle thinking about portals.

Female Wyrmtouched Gestalt Unchained Rogue Sorcerer level 12

Daxniss chuckles at Ssilax's words and nods her head, knowing that staying in the castle for a few days to gather plans how what type of Devil that is guarding the portal will be what everyone will be focused on. That and the fact there was a problem that the group could solve since they had one portal that was nearby enough and a getting a plan together would be useful.

Game master

A few days have passed since the dinner, plans are enacted to start building new additions to the city, thanks to Ssilax and Argon, a sewer system is started, along with indoor plumbing thanks to Daxniss ability to create magical items. Ssilax also spends time going over books and getting a better idea on what possible devil is guarding the gate and a number of other devil types that would inhabit the ruins of the portal city. Ssilax also knows that getting more information would allow for a number of spells to help protect the group, thankfully no one would have to worry about being mentally controlled by anything.
Argon assists Daxniss in coming up with ideas for creating buildings that way, each new home would have a more structurally sound home and also with the walls as well.

Male Dragonkin Cleric/Wizard level 12

Splitting up his time between several projects for the growing town and research , Ssilax was quite busy. That was something that suited the dragonkin. He felt the need to keep himself busy with projects.

Deep within the catacombs, Ssilax searches around in his personal library. The dragonkin was talking to Dog and several ghosts that where giving reports on what had occurred in the time he had been absent. Fortunately, the catacombs had been quite, most of the spirits where resting, waiting to be called. Others occasionally spied upon the town, watching the town grow.

Thanking the two ghosts, Ssilax watchest as they leave through a wall and chuckles to himself. Selecting several tomes, the dragonkin walks out his library to the cavern next to his personal room.

Thanks to several crystals and mirror to redirect sunlight, the unground chamber housed a small forest, complete with a brook, which fed into the ungrounded waterways. Moving over to the table he had set up to study while enjoying a slice of nature, Ssilax sit's down. Smiling, the dragonkin looks out into the forest, bathed in redirected moonlight, thinking about Storm's reaction when he had first shown her the chamber.

Sipping a cup of wine, the dragonkin opens the first time that he had brought with and begins his research.

At Ssilax's best idea thanks to all the time he has spent this devil tyoe is what he believes to be guarding the portal:

SQ agile grappler

SPECIAL ABILITIES
Agile Grappler (Ex)

A gylou does not gain the grappled condition if she grapples a foe.

Tentacle Cage (Su)

If a gylou successfully grapples a creature, she transfers that creature into her lower body’s nest of cage-like tentacles. This works like swallow whole. The gylou’s tentacles are AC 17 and have 18 hp for the purpose of an entrapped creature cutting itself out. A gylou’s tendrils heal quickly, allowing her to use this ability 1 round after a creature cuts itself free.

ECOLOGY

Environment any (Hell)
Organization solitary, retinue (1 gylou and 2d4 erinyes), or cortege (1–4 gylous and 2d10 erinyes)
Treasure standard

Known as handmaiden devils, Mothers of Pain, and Maids of Miscarriage, gylous attend to the whims and schemes of Hell’s few female overlords. Like manipulative matrons amid decadent mortal courts, these deceivers hide their fathomless evil beneath illusions of beauty, graciousness, and tradition. Gylous particularly loathe children. It’s said that the persistent cry of a babe can sometimes cause these fiends to abandon their illusions and viciously attack.

As greater devils, gylous can command many lesser devils, yet harbor an exclusive favoritism for erinyes. A gylou weighs 160 pounds and stands stiffly at 5-1/2 feet— though many wear their head-sprouting tentacles in tall, elaborate coiffures.

However Ssilax believes that this Devil has more power available to it thanks to all of the time it has spent guarding the portal, not to menation the other devils that have been pressed into service as well guarding this portal, that prevents Celestial forces in bring about a balance.

Argon and Ssilax think the the best way to get the star metal from the rock with earth elementals will take about a week, best guess for the amount of star metal is enough to craft a magical suit of armor and a weapon. Worse case enough star metal to craft a weapon. Ssilax has spent at least three days doing research, and has a better idea on what type of Devil is guarding the portal.
The City is progressing well, as everyone that has arrived to the city knows that it is welcome to everyone, human and non. A number of freed slaves thanks to Wrathe's work are glad to have a save harbor, to say the least. Ssilax can see the construction of a hospital thanks to Daxniss's Lyre, along with a wall surrounding the city, that is about two feet thick at the very least.

Getting his collection of notes ready, Ssilax begins to hunt down his friends. Dog was right on the dragonkin's scaled heels, eager to run and sniff new peoples.

Tracking Dax and Argon (thanks to magic and perhaps a ghost or two, peeking out of the shadows), Ssilax allows himself a bit of fun and teleports.

Appearing in the room his two friends where working on pans to strengthen several buildings, Ssilax greets them with a smile.

With a few motes of magical energy still swirling around Ssilax, fading away as the dragonkin moves over to friends, he sets down his satchel of notes.

Ssilax informs Argon and Dax of what he had discovered concerning the devil guarding the portal.

A total of 5 days have passed since the group has been back to the city here is the fruits of the groups labor:
A school has been built to teach those that wish to learn reading and Writing, a wall surrounding the city has been built that will is about a foot in thickness, a hospital has been constructed, a watchtower about 30 miles away from the city has been built. A number of basic message tokens has been constructed to allow those that are in the tower to signal for danger, a total of 5 houses made from stone, and for this year Rygear seems to be the best choice as the person to help lead the construction and the day to day tasks.
Ssilax has informed the party of what type of Devil is currently guarding the portal, although it is unknown as to how powerful the Devil is, still this is information will give the group a better chance at preparing of what to expect when going to the portal that is close by on what spells to use and aid them against their new foe. Argon's smiting master has a forge and a shop in the city as well, Daxniss has a number of members of the guild making stops to the city, informing her of the goings on of the Caern, and Storm drops the bombshell that she is with child.

Edit for my last post IGNORE LAST POST!

"That cover what I know about the specific type of devil guarding the portal. I believe it will gain extra strength from the portal. Not too mention increased health, regeneration, and I would hazard a guess it makes summoning more allies easier for it," the dragonkin pauses for a drink of wine. "As well as the forces it will have already in the city."Ssilax frowns slightly as something occurs to him.

Sighing and shaking his head, the dragonkin looks at his friends and gives a weak shrug of his shoulders.

"I was so caught up in researching the devil, I neglected to spend any real time looking into the ruins that the Devils are infesting. I will have to fix that today," Ssilax says with a faint t smile. He felt a little embarrassed that he had forgotten to do so.

"On a possibly related subject, any thoughts on what you plan on smithing? And can I assist you in smelting the star metal. I am guessing that it might require magic to melt the metal down, Ssilax asks of Argon. The dragonkin was quite curious about the metal from the stars.

Argon has learned a lot of the about smiting and what type of fire that would be required to smelt the ore down to useful material, Argon knows that the fires that will be required will have to be at least 700 degrees just to start with. Argon knows that the smelting will take at least a week just to make the metal pliable. Argon thinks that a team of earth elementals would be able to life the remains of the meteor out of the ground and carrying it for as long as the spell would last.
Ssilax thinks that it would take roughly two weeks of casting earth elemental spells to move the rock, less if he were to use reduce object spell. Ssilax knows that there isn't a massive rush to get the material here to the city but sooner would be better.

Ssilax also has found a number of Tomes detailing about possible devils that might be inhabiting the ruins of the city, along with details about the weather patterns, he finds that there is a period of calm weather once a month, as luck would have it, next week the ruins of the city will be calm enough for an approach into the city. This information will be in important, thanks to the unnatural weather patterns that surround the city, teleportating into the city is impossible. After spending time with his notes, the weather prevents those with the ability to teleport in, as it has a permanent dimensional anchor attached to the the corruption of the portal, until whatever is guarding the portal has been defeated.

Argon has spent the last few days working on the best idea on how to start smelting the star metal and thanks to all of Ssilax's time spent into research finds a tome on how to build a forge that will burn hot enough, located under a passage about involving followers of Ptah and a ritual that will imbue the forge and smelter with the ease of temperatures that the start metal will require.

Male Argon Gestalt Slayer-Cleric 12

Argon has had his head down, both working on the city and on the star metal plans. He was not sure about the best thing to craft, but he's hoping to do something unique.

Now he starts to think about their task of closing the nearest portal. "Um, Ssillax, can you suggest some spells for me to pick? If we coordinate, we'll be that much more effective."

Male Dragonkin Cleric/Wizard level 12

"Absolutely! Should not be a problem," Ssilax says, pulling himself out of his notes. He had been looking through them for a few minutes, muttering to himself occasionally. Pausing for a moment to pull his thoughts back to current affairs, the dragonkin nods at Argon.

"Spell ideas for what you plan on putting on the item you plan on crafting? No, you meant the devil invested old ruins, sorry my mistake," Ssilax says with smile cutting across the length of his muzzle.
