I see this:
Spell resistance does not apply if an effect fools the creature's senses or reveals something about the creature.
Also, the Minor Image spell (and Major Image by extension, I think) says: Spell Resistance no
So I think not.
Argon Alma |
I didn't know that before. I have little experience with Spell Resistance..

Consider using Chrome or Google bookmarks (I forgot which). They remain synchronized across devices/computers, and of course are backed up constantly.
Tentacledone |
Chrome does it, I have access to my PC bookmarks on my phone and vice versa.
And Loki, given the quick turn around, I would have thought you had company over, or where just RL busy unless you had mentioned laptop issue to us :) You end up losing the entire hard drive? Or just sections of it?
Argon Alma |
Firefox does the bookmark sync thing too. I prefer Chrome, though.

Now we watch as Argon becomes red paint on Sanriel's pretty face. It's not a bad way to go, all in all...

p.s. Estrogen unit just took me to Suicide Squad. Run far and fast from the movie. Yuck.
p.p.s. Harley Quinn was epic in it though.
Sometimes you just gotta stand up. Even if it means your life.
What is it about Harley Quinn that I and every other straight male likes? I've never even read anything or seen anything with her in it, yet she has this strange fascinating effect....

I thought the movie was fun, mostly because of the characters/actors, but, it needed to be an R rating, and left the possessed people as human beings rather than eye-blob zombie things. It definitely has flaws, I cannot say it is a great and awesome movie that will change your out look on life. I did think it was fun (course, a buddy and I got really stoned before watching it), and am looking forward to the director's cut.
While it certainly had it's flaws, some of the more spastic editing and some annoying flash-backs, plus a lot of the funny bits have been in trailers. Not too mention a lot of the bar scene was cut down. I still thought it was one of the better DC films. Which still means they have a lot of work to do. I think less time spent on big effects and more time with the characters and them interacting would have been nice :P Practical effects on Croc where well done, I thought they where just going to do the standard slather him in CGI and call it a day, so that was a neat surprise. I liked the look of the Enchantress a lot more when when she was the smoky CGI effect rather than the make-up effect later in the movie.
I really liked how they tweaked the Harley and Joker story so it isn't a psychopath and his pet Stockholm's syndrome nutter. They actually seem to need each other, not just in a messed up kill everybody for laughs kinda way. More like the Joker almost needs Harley around, rather than her just being a henchwoman (which is what she started out as in the cartoon show from the 90's)
I think some of her appeal is the sexy crazy fun chick. Also, being a young DC character, there is still mystery to her mythos (unlike say, Batman, Superman, etc). Or possibly, she hits the White Knight nerve in people. I.e. She can be redeemed/or is someone that can be helped/saved. OR a combination of several different things. In short, I really don't know, but still, love Harley Quinn.
And, just to be clear, my last post is just Ssilax being emo.

I think that we're all attracted to beautiful people, and she is that, but it goes beyond that since the entire film is filled with attractive people.
Her rendition of the character was spot on, varied (we got to see some vulnerability to pair with homicidal ideation), and fun in a twisted sort of way.
Tis too bad that we couldn't see her with Heath.
The movie should be rated R.

I really like the premise of the movie where you need bad to fight evil, but they spent so much time developing bad guy number 1 and 2, then the Joker and his people, flashing back into back stories, flashing back into how people were caught or where they were held, and then us needing to understand the motivations behind the team, and so on and so on, that we missed out on the actual Suicide Squad doing their thing.
To give the SS time to gel would have been great, especially since it would have come with fumbling moments where they don't click (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yrDXseJRJIk).
Heath Ledger has ruined me for all other Joker renditions (other than Mark Hamil) forever.
Tentacledone |
That would be neat to have seen her with Heath's joker, but I think that might have been closer to the cartoon/comics where she was more of Joker's punching bag, that version of their relation is very one sided, as Mister J doesn't really care about Harley.
And I love Heath's Joker, probably one of the best things about the movie. I might catch flak for this but, I am not a huge fan of Bale's version of Batman.
Also, I did find myself surprised by liking Leto's version of the Joker, but we really needed some more time with him (and Harley).
Finally, did Joker's right hand man remind anybody else of Bob from the Keaton Batman film? I know he was supposed to be the Jack Frost character, but still reminded me of Bob in a suit.

There's something about Christian, an intensity that makes me believe him in American Psycho, and to hear the tales of his weight loss around the Machinist days, that translates well into Batman.
That being said, his voice was so distracting and over the top that it's almost unwatchably comical.
There's not a lot of positive to take away from Bats vs. Supes, but I really liked the way they handled Batman's voice in the movie.
Tentacledone |
Hehehe, that voice was so damn silly {Bale), it really broke it for me. And I like Bale, I think he is an intense actor, who brings a lot to his role. Machinist was just nuts! And his weight loss for a role actual stirred up a bunch of controversy. And to think female actors have been doing that for years (and probably other actors) without really much being said about says too much about the Industry and it's audience (if you've watched a movie or tv shoe your a bad person! totally j/k).
All that aside, I kinda am digging Batfleck. Minus all the Superman stuff in B vs S, it would have been interesting to see Diana, Bruce and Alfred foil some plot or another as set up to JLA :)
His cameo's in SS where fun, and genuinely made me want to see more of what's in store for Batfleck. Wonder Woman looks really good, but I hope it isn't all just trailer hype.
F%!~, I'm rambling today, I should probably slept more than 2 hours a day, might have something to do with it.

Wow, free movie reviews! Nice!
I'll be traveling Wednesday most of the day, so I'm not sure when I'll get to posting.
Daxniss Sassith |
I went and saw SS and I went in low hopes for it. It wasn't bad and I liked the Leto's take on the joker and Quinn but I think I liked it more for the fact there was no one in the theater besides me :)

Just reading through..... When did Dandelion appear? And is Jaevan stil around? I assume he's up in the air where he was before?

Jaevan traded 1000 years of service to free Dandelion. Dandelion appeared as Asmodeus disappeared.
Jaevan hovers a few feet off the ground where Asmodeus was.

Would I need to become invisible again? Or did steal action not negate the invisibly spell?

BTW, I threw mention of the noble's celebration/ball thingie as kinda a both way for us to waste some time while Mike is busy, and as a way for us to learn more about some of the rumors around Caern and whatnot.
Plus, Loki is getting ready to take a vacation if I am not mistaken :) 24th through the 5th, correct?

Everyone taking Drow Sign?
Daxniss Sassith |
Adding it to my sheet when I get home tonight/tomorrow. I will try to have a DM post up on my lunch break. If not feel free to do some fluff text :)
Synxol |
Added in "Chapter 5" in the Campaign tab with level 8-12 as a placeholder.
Sorry about that, I forgot to give you guys a link to the newest version of lizard lips.

ta-da!
Updated.
I think Ssilax shall take the catacombs :)
Wrathe will take the tower.

I'll toss my dancing shoes on in the 'morrow.

I'm leaving Friday the 26th, so I should be able to post right up to then. Pretty sure I'm back late on the 4th, so the 5th makes sense.
I'm taking a block course, so depending on how crazy things are, I might be able to post over that period of time using my phone. Not sure though, so don't depend on it.
Everyone taking Drow Sign?
Have it.

Wrathe is CLANGed minus only me spending the moneys.

Daxniss is clanged as well. I've spent some monies and sold some things off my character sheet:
Daxniss
Still working on spending the rest of my coinage.
Wrathe Sepai |
Money has been spent!
Wrathe is good to go.
Working on a post as we speak.
Argon Alma |
Everyone remembered to add +1 to an ability score at 8th level, I take it?
Wrathe Sepai |
Don't forget abut the 5 bonus RP points folks
It doesn't look like we qualify for monstrous traits yet, so here's how I spent the points on Wrathe:
Light Blindness (–2 RP)
Prerequisites: Darkvision or see in darkness trait.
Weakness: Abrupt exposure to bright light blinds members of this race for 1 round; on subsequent rounds, they are dazzled as long as they remain in the affected area.
Fast (1 RP)
Prerequisites: Normal speed.
Benefit: Members of this race gain a +10 foot bonus to their base speed.
Special: This trait can be taken more than once, but each time it is, the cost increases by 1 RP. Its effects stack.
Lucky, Lesser (2 RP)
Prerequisites: None.
Benefit: Members of this race gain a +1 racial bonus on all saving throws.
Argon Alma |
Argon took Defensive Training, Greater, and Skill Training. His AC is now much improved...
Wrathe Sepai |
Loki, that's net 1 RP.
Light Blindness is something he had, so overcoming it will cost RP.
p.s. Had wifi and a few minutes while waiting for the ferry to Vancouver Island.
Wrathe Sepai |
I'm on the Island right now. Port Alberni!
Sorry for the late reply Mike.
I'm in Victoria!
So close.
Daxniss Sassith |
Yet so far away, perhaps you two might met up in the flesh. I hope you two are having a blast on your vacations. :)
Wrathe Sepai |
Lol, now I'm in Edmonton til Tuesday.
The block course I'm on has me here until Friday (course at UVic), sadly.
Upside I just got back from 3.5 hours of whale watching.
Argon Alma |
A blast. I'm now at Pearson (Toronto's Airport) with my wife and 9-year old, and our flight boards in 4.5 hours. :-p
