During the past decades, Westcrown has lost her god, Aroden. It has lost her throne to Egorian, the streets to criminals and the night to shadows. The struggle for survival is hard and bloody, yet some people believe not all is lost.

Hey, Mazon's been stalking around after dark for a while now - on purpose. ^^ If something finally shows up that she can pound on, she'll probably be pleased.
Ozer - Mazon's words are against your character, not the character's player, okay? ^^; It's purely IC smack-talk.
No worries, I am completely cool with characters having tension and or conflict as long as it is warranted in the role-play. Mazon, or any of the others, are free to have a less then stellar opinion of Ozer, he is created to be a not so like-able guy...at least at the start. Looking forward to see how the four of you will interact with him and see how that changes his personality and outlook. I will only have issues with negative things towards Ozer if it is done maliciously and doesn't seem to fit in character. I am against player vs player combat, spell manipulations, and thievery. I am cool with a character needing to give him a swift kick in the A$$ if needed. :)
Tomorrow the family and I are headed to Seattle for Christmas, I will have a PC with me but not a lot of free time to post. Just wanted to let you know if you don't see a post from me over the week. I will try to get at least one in, but no promises.
He takes the pitcher and dotingly tops off Ozer's tankard of ale.
:)
I recognize that, his exit to the bar is less about getting another drink and more about making a dramatic pouty exit, well not much less :). Ozer is not swayed by words to do the right thing, he needs to be in a situation where a decision has to be made. He is bored with the talk, and is ready to be done with the conversation. As a player I want to keep him involved with the role-play and as part of the party, I don't want his adverse attitude to be difficult on the players and DM, but I do want to be true to the personality I see him having. So he "exits" to the bar instead of "going home" to give the other PC's and the NPC's opportunity to still interact with him, and keep him present for any encounters the DM has planned.
First of all: Merry Christmas everyone. I hope you had a wonderful time with your friends and/or family. As for me, I certainly did. The times I came to check upon this forum tough, the site was down. Did anyone else encounter this or did I just have bad luck/karma?
We're going to have some action, introduction lasted long enough ;-)
Concerning the (minor) RP fail with Ozer's name: let's ignore it and pretend it wasn't called aloud, so Ozer can continue his RP. Stick to it until Ozer reveals his name to the rest of you.
I think the RPG voting is forcing the site to make CON saves, and it sometimes fails. :)
I'm not too stressed about the name, just trying to keep him kind of cantankerous at the start. If someone knows his name in character feel free to use it. Ronwn might and of course so would our host.
I am still out of town running with family and will post in the main thread as I can.
EDIT:
DM? Is Ozer aware of what happened in the room from his spot at the bar?
@Ozer: Yes, the inn is empty apart from Janiven, the teenage boy that came in and the five of you. So either Ozer is very distracted in his beer, either he must have noticed by the sounds (the knocking on the door, Janiven getting up from her chair and running to the door, a door opening and closing again) or by the sudden movements of the people (visually).
Ozers name: Thanks, good to know you're ok with it. To keep things simple:

-> Valid for Ronwn's error. Since it was immediately said to be a mistake, we stick with this.

Sorry, not gonna tell for free, even for the most stupid magic item like a potion of CLW. Roll it if you want to find out the exact properties or find out by using it ;-)

Identifying Potions: In addition to the standard methods of identification, PCs can sample from each container they find to attempt to determine the nature of the liquid inside with a Perception check. The DC of this check is equal to 15 + the spell level of the potion (although this DC might be higher for rare or unusual potions).
As for Maxis:

In addition, an alchemist can use Craft (alchemy) to identify potions as if using detect magic. He must hold the potion for 1 round to make such a check.
Hi all, I just want to give you and FYI. Today I started not one but two intensive 3 week courses that have heavy reading requirements to keep up with. I will try to find time each night to check the thread and post (even if its short) but if I miss and it's necessary please NPC me as needed to keep the thread going. Thanks, loving it so far!
Had some busy days as well, my collegue has been absent for 2 weeks so I did double shifts untill now. And I wouldn't miss time with my family during these days ;-) Planning to post a little more again so we get back at the initial planned 3-4 posts/week, if needed with godmodding Ozer the next 3 weeks.
Concerning battle (we should get a part of that in the near future, I'll repeat what I said earlier:
Quote:
-When in combat, I'll roll initiative for everyone. Don't wait your turn (combat would take weeks that way), just post what you would be doing that round, if needed with various options. I'll do the same for the bad guys.
I'll evaluate after our first encounter if this works and if we can improve that.

Ages of gaming force me to go "Nest?! That means TREASURE!"
And then I realize not a single party member we have, to my knowledge, has any particular interest in acquiring dungeon wealth. We'll be in the poorhouse before you know it!
ahh, I should have recognized PS work when I saw it. Got a buddy who's an absolute sorcerer with photoshop. Practically takes stick figures and turns them into full color glossies. It's uncanny.
