If we are keeping Ecaterina, then we still have an arcane caster and I would be inclined to encourage Mothman to join as the cleric, assuming he is still 50/50 on which concept to play. That said, we can always accommodate with extra healing items and such as an alternative.

DO NOT STICK FINGERS IN CAGE

Yeah Flash has been nice enough to reprise his role. A good thing too, Ecaterina is a very versatile character. I was sad to see her go

Back in the USA! I see we've got some familiar faces joining us. Hurray! One last trip, GENCON and then my traveling may slow down for a short time.

I was initially more inclined towards the wizard, but the cleric is actually growing on me more, I think he'll be fun (and useful). If Flash is rejoining the game and you're keeping your arcane caster, then cleric it is!

Pat (and other players), do you have any concerns with me playing an aasimar? If so I am happy to convert the character to human. Let me know.

I imagine it may make sense for my character and Treppa's to join the party together. Perhaps they are friends or recent travelling companions who have heard of this mysterious wintery summer and come to investigate, or else have some common interest or enemy with the rest of the group that will bring them together?

Any suggestions from the gallery?

DO NOT STICK FINGERS IN CAGE

Aasimar works fine for me Mothy!

The group should be returning to Heldrin soonish. I figure the odd wintry events would be pulling folks into the area. They could meet with you there, perhaps you could be recommended by the village council, which had given its blessing to the first expedition.

Yeah, anything you can think of is good. I have nothing for my character beyond a vague longing for "home", which is northward.

Yeah, sorry to throw a spanner in the works. I totally didn't realise that Pat was botting Ecaterina along. I figured he would have just written her out. If I had of known sooner, I would have rejoined 6 months ago when I got my internet back. :(

No spanner mate, gives me a chance to play a cleric - which I do too rarely - rather than my fall back position of arcane caster. It's all good!

I love the fact that somebody is playing a winter witch in this campaign, so I'm glad we didn't lose her!

And I'm glad to see the campaign chugging along. Gaelin is actually the first "tank" I've played... ever... and I'm having a blast.

I've tried playing Healers in MMOs and failed miserably. I can never heal people on time, as I'm usually too focused on killing things. :(

And then there was that one time in a Pen and Paper game that I tried to stabilise a party member and failed 4 heal checks in a row (I wasn't playing a healer, I was playing a TANK. After he died, I realised that I could have simply poured a healing potion down his unconscious throat and all would have been good... :/

Liberty's Edge

Male Mothman Expert 5

Well, I'm not that practised at playing the healer either, hopefully I'll remember to do it from time to time in between my other clerical duties.

Probably no surprise given my board handle, but being a healer back when I played MMOs was the only thing I was good at. I found group combat too disorienting, but I could watch those health bars and keep them up pretty easily.

Being an MMO healer is thankless, especially at lower levels. People run out of range or stand directly in enemy fire, then yell at you when they die. C'mon, there's got to be some survival instinct active for tanks and DPS. God Himself couldn't keep up with some of the damage they voluntarily take.

DO NOT STICK FINGERS IN CAGE

Not to mention is you like mixing it up a bit in battle, at higher levels you get yelled at

"SIT ON YOUR DAMN HORSE AND MED!"

Poor Cookiecrisp the Cleric. He never got any respect.

Ack, we're in already! I have to run off to work. My character will get a name, pic, and personality this afternoon and I'll do an intro post. Mothy, we arriving together?

Quick heads up guys: I am just beginning to plan my GenCon trip. I will probably try and tie up a few loose ends, but then I'm not sure how much time I will have to dedicate to PbPs. Maybe some, maybe not. So just keep y'all in the loop, I might not post up quick this upcoming week

Not asking for handouts or special considerations, but I'm just double checking that Ecaterina didn't end up with anything fancy from the adventures; money, items, etc... I doubt she would have since she was a bot for the majority of time so far, but I'm updating my sheet and just wanted to make sure there's nothing I need to add.

Group loot has not been divvied up. If there are things you can make use of, by all means. Only loot Gaelin has taken so far was a cold iron longsword.

120 gp
Rohkar's corpse yields A finely-crafted set of leather armor, a very nice crossbow, a nicely-made short sword, three vials containing oily substances, 15 gp, a blue potion (healing), a white fur cloak, a slim book with the simple legend: 'spells' written on it, a necklace with an amulet with what looks to be a blank black face, and a ring of several keys With the key I mentioned previously on it, and a scroll tube.
A gold ingot stamped with the Taldan Royal seal
A spyglass
three small tiger eye gens
fine leather boots of a smallish make
A silver dagger
A leather portfolio containing a sheaf of parchment
Donsby's gear: +1 handaxe, composite longbow, 12 arrows, wicked dagger

Some things may still need to be identified.

Cool, thanks. I can Detect magic on anything that needs it and depending on how long we are in town for, I can also Identify anything that needs it. Depending on what the others are after, I would be happy with either of the Daggers. I don't think I can use the Spellbook, and depending on what of the items are magical (if any) she possibly might be interested. Also, is there anything on the parchment in the leather portfolio, or is it blank? She might be interested in that as well to store her paper in depending on whether it would be better than a scroll case.

This campaign seems to have a really high posting velocity, so fair warning: I plan to be out and about all day without access to Internet. Go ahead and bot me along with you as needed if you get rolling.

Headed here on my last day of freedom. Didn't move here to sit in front of a computer all day and all night! Really. I can do mountain/cold weather ranger research, too.
