Time to check for secret doors. If they are not at the bricked up ends then there must be one along the passageways themselves.

Well that was good....Inikai finds the hidden catch almost immediately. He swings the door open and you find yourselves in a small cave high on the cliffs overlooking the bay. Down on the beach you can see the unmistakeablesigns of a goblin campsite..it looks as if the goblins you captured rested there before entering the tunnel.

"They must have been brought in by ship. It is unlikely that many goblins could enter by land without being noticed."

How far down is it to the camp? Can we climb down from here? Can you put up another map?

You can make it down to the beach fairly easily. It's only 20 feet below you and there is a defined path.
You are outside the town walls and the beach stretches away to the east it wouldnt be difficult for goblins to come here ..

sorry there is no map of this area..if you have the players guide to Sandpoint then you are at least 4 inches past the NE corner of the map

"Gods, they could just walk right in...", Kallie said aloud without realizing it. Still, she was glad to be outside in the sunlight again despite herself and the worries that such an easy way into her home town brought.

Perception: 9

She idly kicked through the some of the remains of the campsight, morbidly curious about how goblins lived out here but not willing to touch anything they left behind with her bare hands.

"The creature is in the caves somewhere, there is still another passageway to take." Muchorak looks at the group, "If the last passage ends with no other exit then there has to be a concealed entrance, perhaps the creature can conceal it's entrance just as it can conceal itself?"

Romon is not much interested in a deserted goblin campsite. Muchorak's statement is far more interesting, and alarming. He nerves himself to speak to the big barbarian. "What creature, the kazit? Have you dealt with it before? What's it like?"

Female Human (Chelish) Sorcerer 3

Kallie saw the opportunity and leaped. "Ah, the quasit you mean. They are among the lowest forms of demonkind, but are demons nonetheless. As Muchorak mentioned, it can turn itself invisible. It is safe to assume it may have any number of other tricks up its sleeve." She affected a calm smile as she spoke, as if simply explaining some mundane matter. She found herself hoping just a bit that it made him as nervous as she felt.

Turning to Muchorak and the others, she asked, "What if it is behind that cave-in? How long would it take for workers to clear that out?"

Romon's eyebrow lifts fleetingly in interest or agitation, before all emotion is smothered beneath a blanket of "urban cool." "Uh huh. Where'd you learn so much about demons?" Romon smiles brightly.

She couldn't resist.

A somber look came over her face, her gaze turning to steel. "When one has been condemned to walk in darkness, it pays to know what one may run into." With a twirl of her dress, she turned away and stared out towards the sea as if Romon had touched on some deeply personal matter that offended her.

Her back to the others, she couldn't stop a gleeful smile from spreading.. It took her mind off her fear at least.

Romon stops. His face freezes as he struggles to keep his puzzlement from his visage. His eyes flick left, then back toward the woman, just catching the swirling motion of her dress. 'Walk in darkness'? What could that mean? (Subconsciously he was disappointed in the failure of his smile to snare another victim of the heart.)

Then he smiled. Whatever her cryptic statement meant, the dress twirl was pure theater, good theater too. And nobody wasted theater on the undeserving. He should know.

Ali stops and looks at campsite. Her little Gnome face is scrunched up as mind is obviously working furiously. Finally her eyes go wide and she jumps and claps “Ali have good idea! Maybe we blockum door so Goblins no come back in?”

Wellard, would we be able to get any rough idea of how long it might take to bring enough rocks from the cave-in over to block the secret door? (and hopefully it opens Into the tunnel??)

Could you tell us what they look like Wellard, how they’re formed etc. as it may effect how we combat them. Also, how wide is the tunnel at this point? And appreciation for rolling for me. :)
Ali, relying on her pack training, tries to nimbly Slip Past (1d20 3=5) the creatures to flank them before trying to rip out a hunk of one of their hamstrings. She stumbles though on an unseen rock and is not as nimble as she’d hoped.
Bite Attack (1d20 5=18, 1d4 2=5) So with her failed acrobatics check, depending on the space, I guess either she doesn’t get through or they get AOO’s?

This is what you see

map of area...sorry it hasnt got positions on it but I'm just not technically minded enough to use photoshop it should be gridded A-L across the top and 1-10 down the side

The creatures close with Muchorak and Inikai clawing at them and, thankfully for you, missing completely.

Marak's sword floats towards the fight.

Swinging with his Longsword, (D20= 12+5=17, Damage D8=5+3=8). Muchorak will have his Dodge on the creature he is toe-to-toe with.

the answer to Ali's question is yes to both

Ali tries to slip past the creature attacking Big Bear but cannot find an easy opening..the thing slashes at her with a claw as she moves along the wall but misses wildly. Her bite then sinks into its leg as Muchoraks sword hits it squarely on the chest. The thing roars with pain.

The wolf again tries to Slip Past to other side to flank (1d20 4=5) but the melee is too fast and furious for her to find an opening. Do we have critical failure’s in this game? Or on acrobatics checks??

She nevertheless tries again to bite the same foul creature (1d20 5=21, 1d4 2=5) scoring another savage hit on it’s leg.

Er Ali look where you are..you managed to slip past it on the surprise round..and now that I think about it you couldnt have attacked then as you moved so this 5 is the first damage you have done to the thing. So you are flanking the creature attacking Muchorak in relation to Inakais position.

There are no critical failures on skill checks. There are bad things that happen if you fail some but thats for Romon to worry about

After Romon's turn:

Kallie was taken by surprise by the sudden attack, momentarily stilled by shock. Oh Gods what are these things!

Only able to catch glimpses of what they were facing, she flung her back to the wall behind Marak. With a hint of panic in her voice and focus clearly not in her eyes, she shouted out the words to a spell, pointing at the abomination closest to her. A white, weakly glowing dart of energy lanced through the air from her fingertip, weaving around her allies and unerringly striking the creature.

Romon hears the cries and sudden movements of combat. He takes Kaliciel's shrinking against the wall as fear rather than strategy, and stepping up to project the image of protecting her from the "goblins" , he is so surprised by the magic missile streaking by that he forgets to say "I'll protect you."

draw short sword. move up to C7 or as far as I can. If possible it'd be nice to tumble by them and attack them from behind with Ali.

The creature facing Muchorak is bleeding heavily now the other has taken some minor damage from Marak's sword(which hit the first time but not the second) and Kallie's Magic but they fight on howling their rage at you.

Romon manages to avoid a wild slash of a claw and makes it to E6 just above Ali.

Round 3
The beasts attack again the first clawing Muchorak(2 damage) pulling him close with it and sinking it's fangs into his shoulder(3 damage). For an instant the Shoanti is tempted to let his rage take control but he fights the impulse(yes I know he isnt a barbarian theres a reason for that)

The second creature makes no headway against Inikai one claw strikes the wal the other and its fangs rattle off his chain shirt

With another frantic gesture of his dagger, the floating longsword makes another wild swing at the beast, but Marak, in his over-excitement, slashes too high, and the weapon clangs off of the ceiling, coming nowhere near the creature.

5 to hit, I think. Invisible Castle is being funky, listing my roll of 1d20+4 as having resulted in a total of four...

Seeing how ineffective her magic was and now seeing more of the battle, Kallie fought to calm her nerves. Concentrate! ok a few things will not occur as you wrote them due to changes of target etc but the round goes like this...

Maraks sword swipes ineffectually at the second creature

Ali tears into the back of her opponents leg once again her jaws slicing a huge lump of flesh from it and sending blood spurting everywhere..the monster collapses in a growing pool of blood.

Creature 1 down

Romon maneuvers to flank the second creature sinking his sword deep into its back..Kallies missile jolts it's head back and Muchoraks sword leaps for the exposed throat. the thing paws at the gash in its throat as Inikai brings his morning star thundering down on its head smashing it down between it's shoulders with a sickening snap and crunch of bone

Creature 2 down

He's got pointed ears, like Spock. // AC 17, FF 14, T 15 // HP 68/73 // F,R,W 7,11,4 // Percept 14 + // Init +4

Mission Accomplished!

Romon wipes most of the blood from his blade on the creature's skin. Then uses a bit of cloth (their clothing first, if none a corner of his cloak) to scrub it fully clean before resheathing it. As he does so he says," I can't help but feel you haven't been completely up front with me. These are surely not goblins, nor the invisible quasit. I've never met either, but by all accounts goblins are about Alisebett's size although without her indisputably rustic charm. smiling briefly at the gnome And they are all too visible. Is there a plan or are we wandering aimlessly in the tunnels, slaying whatever comes to hand?

Female Human (Chelish) Sorcerer 3

After the lurking shapes fell and the sound of fighting suddenly died out, Kallie was preparing to attack again, unsure of whether or not it was over. When everyone else started relaxing, she let herself breath a sigh of relief, leaning against the wall.

That was horrible...what were those things? But everyone's okay...we did it. We did it! YES! A smile spread as the doubts over her poor show of power were forgotten for a moment. Until Romon spoke. Then the realization hit that they had far more left to do and probably worse to face still ahead.

She fell back to her calm, somewhat bored tone. "I don't believe any of us expected these things to be here. If there are any more of them down here though, it would be wise to put them down before they caused trouble outside. Did they bite or scratch any of you? Those disgusting things could be diseased. Or poisonous." Genuine concern was creeping past her cold tone as she moved closer, obviously intent on examining and treating any of the possibly wounded. Her eyes kept wandering over the remains of the creatures. Ugh, those jaws....

Kallie will perform a Heal check on anyone who needs it and allows her.

Muchorak turns to the man in red, his rage slowly fading back, "No we did not know of such creatures in this area, and no we are not wandering aimlessly...though if you happen to have a map of the area it would help." Muchorak pauses...realizing the words that escaped him, the rage that was in them...I am NOT that warrior, he reminded himself.

Muchorak turned to examine the cave area the creatures came from...
