Hm. Most likely just dark, fake-gemstone earrings.

Well, in That case! ;-)

As Ali appears to meet the others the next morning she seems happy and buoyant to start their adventure and she seems to be almost…flaunting, something..as she saunters specifically by Muchorak and Kallie. Those who look closer notice the glint of silver at her ears. Did she pierce her own ears last night?? Yup. Finally her exuberance overflows and she cries out pointing to her head as she twirls around “Look look! Me have pretty pretty too!”
Mercurial as always she then is suddenly subdued as she approaches Big Bear and says in a quiet voice as she looks up at him with her big eyes “Ali pretty too now…like Her..yes yes?”

By the way, if Ali notices or anyone points out to her at some point that wearing silver earrings if trying to sneak around a dark dungeon is not a good idea she simply will remove them with no qualms...she’ll still hold onto and treasure them though : )

The young sorceress can't fail to notice that the old scholar is no longer calling her Kali

"Y-yes sir." She regained her composure, taking one of the healing potions and quietly checking her belongings, thankful for the old teacher reinforcing what she hoped was true and for putting her back to the task at hand. She did not catch that she was taking a childlike comfort in that, as if she were still a student in his care, until later.

Keep your head straight, girl. You wanted to prove yourself, so do it!

Kallie was a bit taken aback by anyone using her as any sort of standard of beauty. Well this is new...Gods, did she do that herself? She tried to see whether or not the gnome had pierced her ears properly, if only to make sure she wasn't bleeding or wouldn't get infected.

Spoiler:
Thanks for checking Kallie as there's a good chance she didn't do it properly. I thought she might have smudged dirt around her eyes too but maybe that will come later :P

And oh hey! I just remembered. What about Tsuto?? Did the mayor get anymore info from him? I'd ask in IC but Ali wouldn't think of that :|

Ilsoari will tell you that he hasn't said a word since he regained conciousness...the Mayor intends to send him for trial in Magnimar after this current situation is resolved.

"The creature we believe we are to face, it is a small thing, yes?" Marak asks. "If this is the case, perhaps it would be useful to ensnare it in a net, or with an alchemical gluepot. Even if the creature is resistant to flame or spell or mundane steel, it may find itself in dire straits if it is entangled, grappled, and plunged headfirst into a barrel of rainwater."

"Although, I will admit, I am not entirely sure if this would work. The creature may have no need for breath, and may be able to slough off an entanglement as easily as it sloughs off it's form to assume another..."

If this seems like a potential plan, Marak will spring for a pair of Tanglefoot Bags, although he will recommend that someone more adept with ranged weaponry (i.e. someone with higher Dex, better BAB, perhaps a Small size bonus) take the shot. He *might* be able to use his Hand of the Acolyte for such an attack, but that would be a DM call, as the SLA doesn't explicitly state that it can be used that way.

Ilsoari nods "Aye thats what the web is for..just make sure you don't bring flame to close to it or the thing will be freed..a backup plan never goes wrong though"

My apologies if I was unclear, but that was exactly my intent in my post, to have her do the piercing last night. I was doing a little back-tracking time wise. Looks like she didn't injure herself but she still may not have put them in the right place and is glad of Kallie's help. PS Ali has no idea of her own beauty and does indeed find Kallie beautiful. As the young woman is the first female the wild druid has ever befriend she is both captivated and intimidated by her (We'll make it easy and say that was a SM DC8 for Kallie ;-)

If Marak is kind enough to explain to Ali what a tanglefoot bag is she will indeed take to of them and add them to her sack Big Bear may have to pay for them though :P. She will be very curious about them and begin trying to figure out how they work. I intend next level to give Ali some ranks in Craft(alchemy)but have her make stuff in a natural way. Like say a 'tanglefoot pod' filled with sticky plant fibers instead or something like that (not my idea, copying from another Druid ;-)

Kallie held her finger to her chin, studying the strange gnome. Gods, she trying to imitate me? She really is crazy! she thought with a soft smile. It was rather disarming for her.

Kallie knelt, trying to speak with Alisebett in a softer tone one normally reserved for children. "You did that yourself? That's a good job for a first try. It's a little off, but I can show you how to do it properly if you like." The offer was sincere, but Kallie couldn't help but think that it would be a good idea to learn everything she could from the small woman. Gnomes have strong ties with the fey. I could learn a lot just from speaking with her...

She stood and spoke up along with the others. "I am ready as well." She neglected to mention the meager additional supplies she brought, provided they were still outside the front door where she left them. She wasn't entirely sure she would claim them on the way out.

Romon sees a few in the party look his way and does his best to remain cool. That's got to be them. Though there's more than three. Looked like the old guy in the corner might be their fence.... Dammit. Jael was going to be here to introduce me.He twists his head like there's a kink in his neck. All right. Best just bluff it out.

Summoning his nerve he crosses over to the party. He bows low from the waist (a bow pointed more at Kali than the others, but not outrageously so). "Madames, sirs. I am Normon, late of Magnimar, where I was employed as a man at arms. I believe we have a common friend in Jael. Knowing I was down on my luck, so to speak, he suggested I might work with you."

Romon is slight of build, naturally so for his half-elf blood. His hair is unevenly close-cropped, and you can see some scabs through the thin layer of follicles. His armour is a surprising shade of red. He seems well enough armed for a fighter: shortsword, and two daggers at his waist, another strapped dagger sheathed on his right calf, a short bow and quiver strapped to the pack on his back. His cloak , pack and boots unevenly filmed by dust, as if he has been travelling much lately and recently hurriedly brushed them.

Perception roll 14.

From his attire, I would think some gullible widow to bilk out of her inheritance. Marak thinks in silent answer to Windstriker's query. He chides himself, as he is far from the city, and there could be a perfectly mundane reason the man has leather dyed in the color of virility. For all he knows his own attire has some local connotations that he is unaware of.

Taking a look over the basket of supplies that appears to have been waiting for them outside of the inn, Marak is puzzled at Kaliciel's stammered explanation. "Such generosity is to be treasured. Tales of adventure so rarely include sleeping in inns and being given baskets of food from generous townsfolk!"

At Ali's interest in the Tanglefoot Bags, Marak will happily go on, once introductions are out of the way, discussing the different ingredients that can go into them, and digress, if she's interested (and perhaps a bit after she's lost interest) in the composition of Alchemist's Fire and strong Acid. He knows less about Sunrods, Thunderstones, etc., having never made one of those items.

Ali let’s the skinny fat man speak as long as he likes as she finds the subject interesting and actually hangs on his every word, seeming to pay attention and understand more than she normally does when people speak in this ‘ci-vi-za-shun’. She thinks to herself Him so Smart!

Ali, not really understanding what embarrassment is let alone why Kallie would feel so about giving food to her friends ignores the girl’s strange emotions and simply looks through the basket. If she finds something to her taste she will happily munch on it as they walk.

As the new man approaches, Ali steps close to the stranger in red and, quite curiously to him, begins to sniff him! After she completes her brief little ritual she stands in front of him, looks up at him and says “Ali say you Ok, no bad, no good.” Not having any fashion sense whatsoever the odd colour of his armour doesn’t stand out so for her rather instead striking her as practical. She touches his leg and says “Good colour for killum Goblins. We go killum Goblins now! Oh, and Kaz..Kaz…Kazit! Ali say you can come killem too, but she keep her eye on you so you no hurt her fre-ends!” As she points her finger menacingly at him. Intimidate (1d20 3=23) Nat 20! Gobbos better watch out as she’s feeling Savage today! Heh heh
“But we in hurry so you come now” She then turns considering the matter over but after a few steps turns back and looks to Big Bear for confirmation with a question in her eyes.

You unlock the doors and descend into the depths of the cellar assembling in the room with the tunnel. Everything is quiet..still ness reigns.

The tunnel is tall enough for you to stand upright in..even Muchorak although it is only wide enough for one of you at a time.

You move down the tunnel which winds generally northwards according to Ali who seems to know unerringly which direction you are headed in(know direction is such a useful orison)

Marak hoists his shield and draws a dagger, leaving the longsword slung across his back. He's wedged his everburning torch so that it's sticking out of his backpack, and doesn't require a hand to hold, the ruddy illusory flames licking at the flap covering the pack, but causing no damage.

"With the possibility of an unseen foe, it would be best not to discuss specific tactics from this point forward, as we can not be sure that we are not being watched." he says, unnecessarily.

Kallie relaxed when the gnome girl gave the stranger her approval. It's certainly a strange way of judging character, but whatever works...maybe that's how some fey handle it. Her thoughts turned back to what awaited them below, and so deep was she in them that she didn't notice she was carrying the basket down into the tunnels until it was too late. Oh yes, this is certainly the proper image for an intrepid adventurer...

She kept her dancing lights summoned and close-by, ready to send them out at a moment's notice.

Kaliciel will follow Marak and I guess that puts her right in front of Romon.

As they walked through the corridor, she wondered, Shouldn't we be discussing some sort of plan, for when we finally find the demon? She thought over how best to ask this, when Marak warned the others. Ah, yes. "Naturally." she replied in affirmation, glad that everyone was facing forward and likely didn't see her eyes widen.

She could not stop herself from feeling grateful for so many people being in front of her and at least one person behind her. She felt a bit ashamed by that.

When they stopped and examined the "fork in the road", she offered, "Do you want me to send my lights down either tunnel? Or do you recommend hiding our presense as much as possible?"

Answering Kaliciel, Marak says in a quiet voice, "We should stick to the passage we'll be going down. No need to send light down the other and possibly alert whatever may be down there that someone is poking around."

He adds with a touch of resigned humor, "On the other hand, while I know nothing of demonkind, it's safe to say that anything that isn't human on this world can see better in the dark than I can, so it might not matter one way or the other."

Marak seems to be sweeping his head around as the group moves, looking at the walls, ceiling and floor. He's trying to remain alert, and only succeeding in making himself jittery, and perhaps a bit dizzy, as he's trying to look at too many things at once, while moving forward.

"East seems as good a choice as any. In Cheliax, they call diabolism the 'left-hand path,' so perhaps going right is the 'right' choice."

Shadows shift as every one of Marak's steps shifts the light on his pack. Stumbling slighty through the dark passage, a bored Romon considered ways to enliven the passage. A spider-like brush of my finger against the neck of the woman in front of me? No, best learn more of my companions before jokes of that sort.

Stopping at the fork, Romon is flabbergasted to discover the party doesn't know where it's going. Odd sort of outing. Running around in the dark looking for dangerous creatures. Amazing what the provincials do for fun.

When the gnome transmogrifies, Romon pales. Werewolves! Effing Jael has effing thrown me in with effing werewolves!Eff, Eff, Eff!That sniffing! I should have known... Mind whirling, he struggles to maintain his outward composure. Eventually he recalls a wererat sellsword he worked with once. Having sucessfully scared Romon without even trying Ali leads off down the tunnel which continues to wind in a generally easterly direction. However, after just a few minutes walk, you find yourselves confronted by a cave in,the tunnel ahead is blocked by tons of rock.

Marak does not search the rocks, but instead turns to face the way we came as if scouting the rear, his face tight as he reprimands himself for his assumptions.

A shapeshifter! A Druid, most likely. I had dismissed her as some frivolous fey-child on a grand adventure with the big people, and yet she's a priest, and likely more advanced in her faith than I! We go to face a demon that is smaller than a dog, and can kill many grown men, and I dismiss this person based on her scant size and playful demeanor? Arrogant fool. Your next mistake could get you killed!

Female Forest Gnome Wild Druid / 9| G AC17, W AC18 H AC17 DW AC21; HP 81/81, CMD 21, F/R/W 10/10/6 **, Percep +11 Low-light & Scent, Init +7

Unaware of the consternation her changing forms causes to her new companions, Ali sniffs around, trying to see if she can smell or sense any air currents coming through the rock.
Perception (1d20 6=11)(+2 to Smell and Touch checks)

If no one finds anything she'll pad by everyone and lead the way down the other path.

Your efforts reveal nothing in the rocks...Ali leads you back her wolf form winding through everyones legs to get back in the lead..this puts Romon and Kallie right behind her at the front of the party.

you can reorganise at the junction if you want to go back to your original march order

about 300 feet further up the north easterly tunnel a new branch leads west..this surprisingly appears to have been ,at one time, bricked up

Please Only Read One of these two options:

If we didn't change order

Spoiler:
Ali looks to Kallie, then to both tunnels, then back to Kallie. She waits expectantly.

If we did go back to the original order

Spoiler:

Ali quickly switches back to Gnome form, casts light on two rocks, and rolls one down each tunnel. She figures Some dem so noisy! For sure Goblins hear us come. An nasty Goblins no need light anyway to see so better we see too. then switches back to wolf form.

SM 12 for new members of the group, SM 5 for old

Spoiler:
While Ali's companions that have known her for the past few days likely already know this, for her new companions they notice a remarked change in her from the somewhat insecure and frivolous small child like being they met in the town. It seems that once she is out of a civilized environment and battle looms looms she is all confidence and means serious business.

"Let's regroup the way we were."

Female Human (Chelish) Sorcerer 3

Kallie silently followed the group down the other tunnel. Her fingers were twitching slightly, ready to form a spell at the slightest notice.

Ali bowls her stones. Ahead the main tunnel continues on beyond even the spells lighting range, To the west however the stone travels only a few yards before hitting a wall..you can see the that tunnel tiurns north about fifty feet away from you

When the group reaches the other lit stone, Muchorak will sheath his sword and roll it further down the path revealing more of what lies ahead...redrawing his sword he continues down the path, be aware to look to the ceiling for possible creatures or unpleasant surprises.
