@All: There is a 'House Rules' section in the campaign tab now. I guess I have collected all the house rules active in this game in one spot. Mostly for our new players, but also for the rest of us (and a spot for me to put all of them together).
I'll try to keep it up to date if new ones add up (and given the state of the rules in the book, they certainly will ^^)

How do you determine what an 'encounter' is GM? Elisabeta has a once per encounter power. If she uses it, will it be just for the little three person scrap that we're in right now or for the whole thing with the running and the screaming and the chasing and everything until we (maybe) get back to safety?

That's an interesting question, but I am leaning towards the latter.
Since things will (probably) get quite hectic now, there's not much time to calm down and rest to regain your powers in between.

If you would have had a run in with some Orks on the way in, slaughtered them silently, then rested while the others advanced further and are now in the next fight ... I would rule that as two encounters.

Since you probably will give covering fire after finishing the Orks and so on ... that's one big encounter in my eyes.

I think I got the flamer rules right by the way on my last post.

Yeah you used it right, but they're well out of range - sadly (surprise attack with a flamer is NOT funny, since you may not dodge an attack that you are not aware of!).
You let them walk a while after they passed you, to see if they actually walk towards the minefield the IN-group planted ahead of your position.
They are about halfway between you and mines (which are planted ~100m in front of the camp), so that should be about 200-300m from you now.
Let's go with 'just' within normal range of a lasgun.
+30 from surprise-attack
+20 from full aim
+10 from braced
--> You 'may' be able to hit something with those modifiers ^^

So I think that's -30 for laspistol extreme range right? Since it's more than 90 m away?

Two more things:
- Why exactly are you using the laspistol? You get the trusted guardsmen-standard-issue lasgun as part of the regimental kit
- Hatred only provides it's bonus for melee attacks (+10 WS on all attacks)

Haha, no problem.
As long as those things are quickly resolved, it's not a problem at all for me :-)
And the system IS "rather" complex, with all the possible modifiers and stuff.

Bolus would have made a single shot. So the only difference is +5 from the damage roll to make it a 13 pen 2 lasgun hit to the head.

I'll rule dodge not possible. You were running with the back to the tower and were unable to hear the ork open fire due to all the noise around. So you were unaware of the coming attack, which denies a dodge.

But to be fair, I will give you a chance: Roll me an awareness -10 (hear-based). If you make it, you hear the attack coming and can dodge accordingly.

Hrm, on a weapon jam, can I get my comrade to use a full action to reload the weapon so I can be good to go next turn? Or was her action used up with the +5 to firing?

@Pete: Oh yeah, seems like it. So let's see: The 'nbew' frag grenade looks like:
2d10+4X, Pen:2, Blast[1], Shrapnel [8], Proven[3], Delayed

First we remove the Delayed property. Then reduce Shrapnel to ... let's say 5, keep the Blast.
That was the easy part. Pen ... penpenpenpen ... Let's keep it at 2.
Damage ... reduce it by 2 for the tiny bit less explosive inside.
So we look at:
2d10+2X, Pen:2, Blast[1], Shrapnel[5], Proven[3]

And what are you aiming for? The Ork, or your charge? I couldn't really read that out of the post.
If aiming for the Ork, then there are no real modifiers.
If aiming for the Charge, thats ... -10 for the size but on the other hand it does not move (hopefully, eh?) so I will give you a +20 to hit.

@Bolus: That's a heavy Gunner's special Comrade ability, so I will rule that out. Also you spend a half action of your comrade to assist in the attack.

With two autocannons that would likely work. One or two burst should weaken the wall enough to allow the chimera a "easy" way in.

Thanks for the wishes. It's so-so. Have an infection in the ear. Really sucks and makes concentration difficult - due to headache coming from the ear. It's getting better though.

Probably.
You could send in Pete again to set a charge at the wall and blow it up with his remaining charges.
That would certainly work, but would be quite time-critical.

Sorry for the long down-time.
I told already (the older ones), that my schedule will be tight in the end of August and throughout September and October due to the approach of my last exam, the deadline of my thesis and ... my wedding :-)

Post rate will likely be lower than usual until start of November, but I will not disappear.
Expect ~2 longer gameplay post per week for the time being. Short ones or questions should be another matter and I guess I can answer those within a day as usual.

Just being open with you guys, so you know whats up on my side.
Don't fear, I have way to much fun with this, to let it die.

If turning the vehicle appropriately, all mentioned threats are even within heavy flamer range.

Opening the ramp is quicker than closing it.
Closing will need a Full round.
Opening is a matter of 1 or 2 seconds ... so ... let's got with a immediate action there.

For future consideration.
"Jink" action: Operate+0 test (modified by maneuverability of the vehicle, which is 0 for the chimera) and the size-modifier of the vehicle (which is 30 for the chimera).
So, to jink a chimera you roll: Operate+0+0-30
For a Leeman Russ you would face: Operate+0-15-30

The oil-Squigs are in a more or less direct line before the open ramp (otherwise you probably could not have see them and Bolus could not have toasted them in the first place), so the fireball has a direct way inside ...
With a successful dodge you would have been able to get out and to the side of the chimera ... but the dice wants to see you burn it seems.

Also note the last paragraph of fear-tests: if a Fear test is failed by 3 or more DoF, you also gain 1d5 (additional) insanity points.

Mhhh yeah I checked some pictures of the chimera back hatch - I expected there to be a back wall 'border' in which the back hatch slots when closed but it seems the whole back wall is just lowered in its entirety. RNGesus said no anyway tho =3

Firing (^^) on a oil-squig with a flamer *can* cause something like that.

@Bolus: Don't feel bad, it would had happened with a normal lasgun/plasma pistol as well. Only chance to avoid that, would have been melee or SP weapons (shot from a save distance, such that the firing has no chance of igniting their oil).
