Melashara staggered forward, stumbling past the nimble dark elf. She steadied herself by grabbing the sides of the sled with her hands while her hair lashed forth and hooked around the reigns.

Warriors are proud--and boastful, foolhardy, and ultimately weak at heart. Some even sing or yell during battle to hide their inadequacies.

She managed a pained smile at the elf, then continued:

Me? I just survive.

This post:

I've copy pasted my previous post and made some small edits, Lorn will mostly try to do the same thing.

Still excited Lorn felt his sleigh was harder to control with more than one apelike monster tugging at it. Through the blizzard Lorn saw struggling sleighs in front of him and to the inner side of the track. He grinned and said to his teammate:

"That's some lovely magic, Muscle Wizard! I'm going to steer to the inside of the track now, can you make sure that rope doesn't get tangled up with our monkeysheep or ourselves?"

Hoping to avoid a collision with the wall Lorn steered their sleigh inwards trying to make it harder for the sleighs to his left, while at the same time taking less of a detour to the finish line. "We're starting to get too far behind. Since I'm driving, finishing last will be on me!" he thought and his grin disappeared. Clenching his jaws he literally tried to push away the competition.

As Ryujin jumped from his sled to the nearby sled a flaming missile hit him and his sled which burned his skin yet could have been worse without having previouslybeen covered in cold water and ice. Despite the explosion Ryujin managed to jump just as his sled rammed into a nearby one.

As he landed in the sled his first thought was to find the reins and control where he was going. He aimed to get close to the wall and try for the special area and give Loric a chance to jump into the new sled

With a grin, Zar'zan took a split second to enjoy his grim deed while he tried to shake the cold from his bones. Yet, time allowed him nothing more before it presented his way back into the race.

Quickly Zar'zan's eyes locked onto the sled of Severus and his legs pumped into action.

Although the feeling of being weightless was quite enjoyable, Zib decided that floating there wouldn't be a good idea. Quickly pulling out his sickle Zib attempted to sink it into the wood of Sereveres's sled.

With a growl, Zar'zan pushed himself back up to his feet as he realized he had never even made it to the back of his enemy's sled. Instead, his balance had failed him and left him on his back.


Loot Tracker Current Map

With a wild grab Joboo managed to grab the barrel of the wildly swinging cannon, hanging on for dear life as the now-disconnected sled swung wildly into the wreckage.

Lorn used his sled like a ram, angling sharply back toward the inside of the track, grinding Severus' sled into the wall. Zib suddenly found himself being savagely shaken as the sled he was hooked to ran tremors along the wall. With no buoyancy he was at the mercy of the vibrations being transferred up his sickle.

Melashara's strange, animated hair grabbed the reins and whipped their monkey-ram onward, somehow managing to pull free of the mess she had just been in the middle of.

Varniel's uncontrolled beast pulled sharply on Karlov's rope giving their sled an extra boost of speed. Varniel was not so lucky. His sled was whipped to the outside, cracking against the back end of Melashara's sled, nearly tipping onto it's side. Joboo suddenly found himself dangling over the unmanned cannon next to the snow witch.

Ryujin's amazing display of dexterity had left him in possession of a new, un-iced sled, a loaded cannon and a new companion. Sir Loric dashingly jumped aboard with a grin.

Ahead of them a kangaroo scrambled in the snow, struggling for purchase and traction.

Lorth struggled to keep his eyes open as the cold continued to seep deeper into his bones. Barely able to hold onto Magnus they continued their uncontrolled dance along the side of the ring.

Joboo knew he was blessed by Sickly Death and even understood the irony of that thought as he grabbed a hold of the cannon and swung himself up and on top of the weapon as he drew his dagger. All in one very fluid motion. Seeing that Melashara was barely holding on to control with her..mucho crazy hairsies... he let his small blade fly at her back.

As his sleigh plowed itself to the inner side of the track, Lorn howled with pleasure:

"MWAAAAAAAAAH!".

For the moment their sleigh was being pulled by two of the ape-like creatures and Lorn found it easier to steer now that they were more or less going in the same direction. As their sleigh passed the wreckag of another sleigh, Lorn enjoyed the sound of small bits of wood from the wreckage being crushed by their sleigh. With splinters flying around Lorn suddenly thought of something and with one hand he reached inside one of his pockets.

Zibs sickle plunged into the passing sled, pulling Zib with a sudden jerk. The strain on his arms was enough even before the sled started to vibrate. It was to much for his little arms so he let go. His little went sailing through the air...."SOMEONE PLEASE GRAB ME!!!", he yelled.

Chess saw the goblin's erratic leap carry him to the sled's cannon, and around the creature went before somehow managing to slow the thing and regain his feat on it. Almost in slow motion he saw the creature raise a wicked dagger above his head, as if to toss it, but the drow slashed across with the hilt of his own blade, hoping to drive the blade it from the foul creature's hand.

Melashara felt the weight of the sled change slightly and turned around to see the goblin jump aboard, brandishing a dagger. Before he could throw it, Chessna'ra deftly knocked the weapon aside.

Even the goblin can't stand to see a woman competing against men.

Chess, get this filth off my sled! Rrrrrraaaaaghh! She shouted with rage, lashing out past the dark elf at her would-be assassin.

The violence of the motion caused a fresh wound to blossom and trickle dark blood before finally freezing.

As her hair furiously assaulted the hapless goblin, the winter witch grabbed the reigns awkwardly and attempted to steer the strange beast.

After he found a new sled and a partner, Ryujin focused on the race ahead of him. Alarmingly, a flailing sled was just up ahead of him so Ryujin pulled on his reigns and yanked them to the left trying to avoid slamming into another sled. Ryujin saw his teammates on the yellow sled behind him and not wanting to slam into them, Ryujin spurred his mount and tried to keep ahead of them.

The dark elf didn't wait to see if he'd deflected the finishing blow to his companion as he dropped the dagger to his feet, deftly drawing the scimitar with the other with a practiced ease. The drow warrior adopted his familiar fighting stance with ease, and lashed out with the curved blade towards the goblin. The drow called out to his companion once he had executed the strike, keeping his eye on the goblin.
"Melashara! Are you yet standing?"

The witch swayed on her feet, struggling both to stand and to control the ponderous beast in front of her. She watched the dark elf fell the pesky goblin, nodding with approval.

The race is still on, isn't it? Help me keep this creature in line so we can stay on track. We need to distance ourselves from everyone else.

"Aha! I shall make magic yet!"

Karlov squeezed past Lorn and leaned over the front of the sleigh. "If we have one monkey sheep," he said as he tied the rope to the front of the sleigh, "two will go even faster!"

He leans back and waves to the crowd. "Who likes magic?!"

The sled took off abruptly almost immediately after the smiling Sir Loric jumped on. The knight clung to the sides of the sled for dear life, addressing his teammate while he drove.

Ryujin:
"Partner, you have been driving masterfully thus far. But would you kindly slow down a bit once we solidify our lead? My armor is great for protection, but not so much help in the way of balancing on something as fast as this craft. This cannon appears to be loaded, and if you can ease just enough for me to keep my footing, I should be able to take care of any competition."

Ryujin angled sharply back to the inside of the track as Sir Loric hung on to the cannon and dropped to a knee to stabilize himself. Lorth let out a breath he hadn't realized he was holding as the monk's sled scraped by him when it could have so easily run him over.

As Joboo's cannon swung near enough to throw a dagger at the snow witch, the nimble drow slashed at him and Melashara lashed at the little creature with her hair, ripping frozen furrows in his skin, but she dropped the reigns in the process allowing her monkeysheep to jerk away from the cluster of sleds. Their sled wavered back and forth as she fumbled to regain control.

Lorn's sled lurched as Karlov anchored the rope to the front crossbar. The right runner hit a chunk of wreckage and hooked it, tossing the sled into a hard left lurch, but the extra pull from the rope managed to keep the craft just stable enough that it did not crash. Instead, Lorn and Karlov suddenly found themselves hanging on as the combined might of two ram-apes began dragging the sled sideways.

Zar'zan watched as the sled that Ryujin had abandoned slid around as the monkeysheep pulling it suddenly realized he did not have to anymore. Behind him, the loose monkeysheep moved closer, drawn to the flickering purple lights that surrounded the dwarf.

Zib found himself flying through the air, passing directly over Karlov's head as the muscular man raised his hands to the crown. Taking the opportunity, he grabbed his teammate. Karlov suddenly found himself dragging a gnome through the air as the crowd erupted.


"Muscle Wizard caught the Gnome! He caught him! Like he had it all planned!"


"Very impressive. He puts on quite the show doesn't he. Just the right mix of skill, luck and style."

The wounded witch cursed the beast in front of her and snapped the reigns with authority, showing no fear.

Hiya! Move, you great lumbering beast!

She once again glanced at the carnage around her.

At this rate we'll be dead before two laps have passed. All of these foes would rather kill everyone then actually race. I have to put some distance between myself and the rest of the pack, or I'll end up like that crazy Goblin.

Chessna'ra smiled briefly as he retracted his blade from the slash, finding a brief moment of solace in the practiced stroke that had served him so well for so many years. But his moment of peace didn't last long as the cold gripped him, permeating his body and beginning to crystallize the sweat that hung round his form.

The witch isn't faring well, and she is fragile in her current condition...

The drow looked not 10' feet away from him into the crazed expression of the elven alchemist and judged risks and distances. One bomb would push his companion over the edge, and the drow would take all precautions that he could. Chessna'ra had begun to sing an elvish dirge in a low deep voice, more to himself than anyone entering an almost trance like state. The dark elf stepped onto the remains of the sled that carried the elf in front of him, one hand holding onto the cannon as balance, before whipping his scimitar in a quick diagonal arc designed to cut a deep wound into his opponent with only the the last few inches of his blade.

Chess knew it was risky, but he hoped that he could be as dextrous as the goblin and manage to hold onto the cannon and swing back aboard his sled when it zoomed off. All doubts and fear were replaced by the dirge that echoed through his head.


HP 78/78, AC 25/12/23, Saves 11/5/14

So... cold... Lorth's eyelids were heavy, but when they did part he saw that at least they were clear of the others. Clutched tight to faithful Magnus, he willed his steed to find footing on the frozen ground. At the re-assuring grip of his master, Magnus Rufus did as he was bade - long feet thumped the ground with confidence and his tail slid in the slush acting as a keel to their marsupial vessel. As they surged forward, he surveyed the field... a rogue sled was headed near them, so he urged Magnus to leap o'er top it so as to be able to keep a more profitable line on the track....

The dark elf jumped gracefully onto the arm of the cannon, the turret swinging back towards his companion. The drow's rumbling dirge rose to a crescendo as he preformed the daring maneuver, his white hair whipping behind him, as he aimed for a graceful landing besides his companion.

The witch saw the hypocrisy in her partner's merry song and dance combined with the brutality of his blade. She was grateful, though, that such a direct threat to her was neutralized.

Chess, quit fooling around and help me with the reigns! she started. Then she remembered that he was a man, and proud, and he would not take kindly to being shamed. She also needed him if she wanted a shot at winning this thing. So she spoke again:

And...thank you. He would certainly have done me in had you not intervened. Now, make sure that goblin doesn't fall off our sled. I may have a use for him.

Then she raised her head to scream at the halfling .

Lorth! You need two teammates to win the race. Come back here and take this goblin off our hands before he falls. I trust you have more honor than he does.

At the request of his new teammate, Ryujin slowed down. As he rounded the corner the wind hit him fully and he finally began to feel the effects of getting hit with the water. Determined to finish however he grit his teeth and focused what was coming up ahead of him

Lorn panicked for a moment as their sleigh started to drift sideways and he felt he was losing control of the sleigh with two of the apelike creatures tugging at it. Lorn tried to make his own monkeysheep slow down by releasing the reins a bit while trying to find a way to gain control over the second monkeysheep.

"MUSCLE WIZARD!! YOU'RE MAGICING US TO DEATH!" Lorn shouted to his comrade who somehow was now holding one of their teammates high in the air. Lorn was speechless for a moment, he shook his head and focussed on riding while muttering to himself.

Karlov leaned over the side of sleigh. He noticed the debris still lodged in place. He did his best to separate the sleigh from the scrap.

"I will make sure we do best," he said while giving one last push to dislodge the debris.

"I CAST HASTE!"

Chessen'ra managed to swing himself back onto his own sled, but only just. The monkey-sheep hauling them seemed to decide that it was tired of being pulled to the left all the time and yanked back unexpectedly. Meleshara simply did not react in time to keep their sled from ending up on the wall. With a hard bump the pair found themselves slammed hard into the icy stone, struggling for balance and control.

Seeing the angry beast closing behind him seemed to give Magnus the Kangaroo the spur he needed to get his feet under him again. With a powerful leap he bounded above the snowy canopy for a moment, long enough for Lorth to get a good look at the crowd for the first time. There were thousands in attendance of all shapes and kinds, and for just one moment, they all saw him. His chest swelled.

Joboo tumbled off the back of the sled propelled by the stinging slap of Melashara's hair, flew through the air and managed to grab and wrap around the base of a cannon mount. Looking around frantically and gasping for breath he realized he was looking at the back of the crazed alchemist Varniel as he tried desperately to control his wildly sliding sled. The little goblin had managed to fling himself back onto the sled he'd disabled.

Lorn struggled with his manacles as the sled skipped and dragged, propelled in two directions by angry bull-rams and held back by the wreck of another sled. Muscle Wizard grabbed the cannon mount and leaned over the edge, placing a few solid kicks to the trapped debris, freeing it with a crack. The sudden surge in speed sent Lorn back onto his butt. he would have likely slid back or even off the sled entirely if not for the chains around his legs. Looking up, his head between his strange partner's legs, he saw that the man was flying their gnomish teammate like a balloon by the excess rope they had tethered to their second ram.

Zar'zan surged through the snow, finally able to find his footing. Ahead of him he saw his prize. Behind him, the wooly beast came.

Flat on his back and looking to his teammates, Lorn had the feeling he hadn't just lost control of the monkeysheep but also the rest of his life. "Who IS that man?" he wondered as he watched Karlov for a moment while he tied the gnome to their sleigh. Lorn's face flushed as he saw things of the Muscle Wizard he probably wasn't supposed to see. Quickly he sat up straight again, using his still bound feet.

That's when Lorn saw the rough patch of ice in front of them. Once more he panicked and tried to gain control of the apes again to try and steer around it but he was under the impression that he'd only made things worse.

"Stupid monkeys just won't LISTEN!"

The cold had become a real probelm for him and his toes felt like they were burning as he swore that he was going to get some ...hawt squishy time with a squigly, plump gobbo gal... when this was all done...nose time for fun brains workings now tho...

Chessna'ra grinned as he awkwardly, yet still successfully landed from the wild maneuver, and steadied himself with the cannon, turning it about as he did so. The cold was getting worse, but the drow was deeper into his passionate song now, ending the dirge and starting up a dark tune about the folly of the surface folk in rolling undercommon. The drow elf saw just what he was looking for as an explosion lit the field, showing him Loric holding onto his sled for dear life. A wicked grin shone clearly on the dark elf's face as he launched the cannon at the oh-so-handsome so called "knight".

Lorth looked forward over the shoulder of Magnus to the path ahead. In the distance, a figure loomed out of the falling sleet. By jove, looks to be the Orcish fellow that's on my side.... wonder what befell the chap to leave him trudging on his own feet. Gears turned and cogs whirred within Lorth's snow-addled brain and an idea formed with surging clarity.

Reaching behind him to grasp the reins that still trailed behind him from Magnus' harness he held them up towards Gwrrr'rrr in one hand and shouted into the wind "Fancy a lift dear boy?"
