It's still pretty bright, what with stadium lighting and all.

As for figuring out the ammo type, maybe Linguistics. Go for it if you want. Detect magic takes a few rounds to focus. It probably won't help you much right now.

I'm not sure if you want the checks here or in the game play thread, so I'm putting them here and if you want I'll re-roll them there. . I'm hoping to be able to try and identify the symbol or the spell as a move action and fire it at someone as my standard action.
Linguistics 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Spellcraft 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14

Linguistics tells you that a + sign is for basic mathematics and also for medical aid in surface common tongues.

Spellcraft reveals that the symbol is created with a Minor Image spell.

In that case, I will ask Severus to maneuver himself so he isn't between Mel and the cannon. (Holding onto it via levitation or just turn his body would be fine, since I assume the cannon extends pretty much right to Mel) Get Mel's attention and ask her to drop her guard so I can heal her, and then shoot her, as oxymoronic as the statement seems.

Severus will get taken out as soon as I can figure out a way to do it without making it seem contrived. Rightnow he's on borrowed time.

I have a solution for the Severus thing. Our sled is going right by Sir Loric. As we drive past, have Severus dive out and tackle Sir Loric so they start fighting. Cool story-wise and takes 'em both out of the race.

Could Zar'zan move through an ammo square to get ammo to throw with his Throw Anythin feat?

Fraid not. The icon is more of an "activator". It doesn't actually dispense ammo.

Ah. Gotcha.

Yes, it does heal you. It grants Fast Heal 1 for 1d8 ⇒ 4 rounds.

Different shot. Zib was towing a broken cannon and it went off when he drove over an icon.

Dang it, I thought I posted. Do one of the beasts look more injured than the other? Both doing pretty bad? Pretty good?

I was considering the options and was thinking about perhaps readying an action to hit after they attacked each other again, that way he could get another action in right after and keep himself from garnering their attention right off the bat.

Recovering from epic holiday road trip. Hope all of you that celebrate St. Patty's Day had a good one.

Zarzan, you're not much of an expert on animals, but it looks like what these two are doing is actually more of a display of dominance than a real fight. There's lots of headbutting, pushing and hitting, but little real damage. If you had to pick one that seemed to be losing it would be the one closest to you.

Update to come tonight or tomorrow, depending on how much I manage to get done today.

I haven't been able to get Paizo to load for quite a while. All day yesterday and this morning. Anyone else have trouble? Anyone know what's going on?

Zar'zan, that's fine. You can Delay to wherever in the initiative you like. I'll do a quick post about the monkey's actions so you don't just lose your action this round.

Lorth, you're prone in front of Ryujin and he has vicious stomp. This might hurt. Also, DC 13 Reflex save for Magnus to avoid taking 3 Splash damage from fire.

Ryujin, you have vicious stomp and Lorth just went prone in front of you. Your sled is now quite overburdened. It's speed is reduced by 10 feet this round.

Gwrr, you have a choice. Crawling onto the sled will probably dislodge the kangaroo. You can risk it, or be dragged. If you choose to be dragged give me another climb check. ALso, DC 13 reflex save to avoid taking 3 splash damage from fire.

Mel You have gained Fast Heal 1. The camel you are now steering has just been iced. This round your drive check goes up by 4. Also, you need to give me a DC 13 reflex save to avoid the splash.

Lorn, one of the icons looks like a snowflake with an X through it, the other looks like a flame. Ill assume you went around the one you didn't want to hit. Take your choice.

Joboo, you just hit an Ice patch. Your base DC is 16 for trying to drive a wrecked sled and it was raised by 4 this round for the ice. If you fail by too much the sled may roll. Good luck.

Zib, no luck. The DD check is a little higher than that.

DM DH, could you possibly use different color squares on the map for the snowflake squares and the fire squares? This assumes that the icons are visible to us while we drive, which is I think the case.

Also, can I choose to hit the ramp and not increase my speed/drive difficulty? For example, if Chess uses aid another on me and I take 10 I can reach a 14 DC with no roll. Or if he does something else I can reduce my speed to 45 and take 10 and not have to roll. If I do that and go over a ramp, does it do anything?
