Boom! Healer strike!
Tolus Soulrender |
Huh. Never heard of damnation Feats. Too bad Vitalists are so feat starved. Where can I find them?
Tolus Soulrender |
Indeed indeed. And rysky's looks rather martial as well by the stats.
Of note is the lack of a traditional full caster.
I'm a psionic healer. I'll be debuffing and healing your HP woes. I don't have good condition removal, however. It's one of my balancing weakness to temper the stoopid amount of HP I heal, especially at later levels.
Your Benevolent Dictator |
Here's what I'm seeing at the moment.
Tolus: healing/debuffing
Shinoko: melee/possibly a little buff/control
Ekkehardt: melee
Talenvere: melee/(plus skills?)
Rysky: ?
Basically you're lacking Ranged DPR and casting. Shinoko's actually a Synthesist, so she'll be almost exclusively melee DPR. The fact that you're an extremely martial party won't be too much of an issue until midgame, but you'll still have to be careful. However, since Leadership (modified) is perfectly acceptable in WotW, you should be okay.
Instead of followers, you'll get to create your own evil organization. Want to start an assassin's guild? No problem! Clandestine information network? Works for me! Want to control the black market? Piece of cake! You get the picture. Also, if multiple PCs take Leadership, they have the option of combining their organizations for an increased resource pool. Each week/month, you get a set amount of "minion actions" that can be used to earn money/gather information/purchase illegal substances/bully locals/etc. It has a lot of similarities to Ultimate Campaign.
Tolus Soulrender |
I just found my level 7 feat! I'm a big fan of leadership used in that fashion. Can I create a fake church of that stupid good god all the cretins serve in order to infiltrate the actual church and corrode it's clergy?
Tolus Soulrender |
Well, we should all have a ranged option. That's just good standard practice. I meant more of a dedicated ranged character. An archer or bolt ace or something.
Ekkehardt |
My plan is to focus on pain, intimidation, and leadership positions I hope!
Third level is going to be a tough call for me. I can remain a Standard Anti-Pally and scare even the fools without fear.
Or take The Lord of Darkness archtype for command shenanigans!
Oh the places we'll go.
And, Minions! Mahahahahahhaha!!!
Shinoko |
Oh Ill yell at him. I dont need permission. I've waited months to play this game!!! >:( Stupid germs and life stuff and such!

SHAMELESS ATTEMPT TO MAKE SURE EVERYONE STICKS AROUND FOR THE ENTIRE AP
I really don't want this game to die due to player loss, so here's some info about each Book. :-)
Book One - Talenvere will have an opportunity to enact his revenge
Book Two - Everyone will build and defend a dungeon crawl from adventurers
Book Three - Tolus will help destroy the Holy Order of St. Macarius (Mitra's most noble servants)
Book Four - Shinoko will get another chance to assassinate the King
Book Five - Ekkehardt will finally be able to seize power from the weakling who dares command Asmodeus' most loyal servants.
Book Six - Rofocale will relieve his endless boredom by helping run a kingdom
Ekkehardt |
Ready to bring Fear of Him back to the land!
He he he he hahahahahahah...Mawhahahahahahahahahahahah!!!!
The sniveling swine can keep my seat warm until I seize it from his worthless corpse!!
Ekkehardt |
Sorry for the low posting, the wife and I had a day off (with out children!) and had date day, the first in months! And I had to take some time for mental health, yay vacation time! And chores! Not so much the last, however...
Tolus Soulrender |
No worries man. That stuff is way more important than this. Especially the date day. Not so much the chores. :P
Talenvere Steelguard |
hehe *lawls at the diceroller* really ? really game? basically at a +11 to disable locks and you roll me a 3 and a 4? for shame! *chuckles*
At least i have daggers eh?
dd2: 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 9 + 2 = 23
dd3: 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 9 + 2 = 13
dd3: 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 9 + 2 = 22
dd4 fc: 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 9 + 2 = 18
shinleft: 1d20 + 9 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (8) + 9 + 2 - 2 = 17
shinright: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
*shrugs* so lets hope we can manage to get away with something eh?
Tolus Soulrender |
Indeed. This level of damage wouldn't be a problem (if it happened once or twice) at level 2. But at level 1 my abilities are extremely limited. :)
Ekkehardt |
I am starting to to see the error of putting everything into only Charisma and Strength. Oh well.
I'll start looking at plan B dude.
It's a theme for my characters to die.
In Tom's Skull and Shackles game he killed 4 of my characters, 2 in one session.
Original Vashti, bled out in the final battle of book one after killing the BBEG.
My Calstrian Priestess, ninjaed.
Clelest, an Angel Oracle of Life, full munchkin mode, dropped to negatives then Life Linked to death.
Cleric of war, crit with a longbow.
Our friend ran The Dragon's Demand and ended up with his first TPK running his first Pathfinder game! It was epic!
Died from breath weapon.
Heheheh....sniff, sniff, cries a little..
Tolus Soulrender |
But I like the vibe we have going!
(but if what you roll has an AoE heal, I won't complain too hard)
Your Benevolent Dictator |
If Engela does become necessary, it may be a little while before I can fit her in. If you want to start in the prison, the same creation rules apply. The other option is to start at a safe house. In that case, you'd start at Level 2 with 250gp worth of equipment, and I'll PM you some info to include in your backstory.
Of course, Ekkehardt might still survive this. We'll just have to see what happens....
Tolus Soulrender |
If we can get these guards taken care of I can save him. Still, our chances of getting out are dimming, I feel.
Your Benevolent Dictator |
Talenvere's veil of useful items has loads of potential to the creative player.... ;-)
Tolus Soulrender |
Ahh, ok. Level 3-4 is totally better for me. :)
Now, time to get creative, folks! I say we use the lantern as a grenade.
Your Benevolent Dictator |
If anyone wants to do a character rebuild, I'll allow it now. However, I'd appreciate it if you keep your core concept relatively unchanged (eg. rebuilt Tolus should still be a badass healer, rebuilt Shinoko should still have a creepy bunny of some sort, etc).
Also, here's a bit more info about the workings of this AP. My bad for not explaining this before we started. Paizo APs tend to be rather railroady with clearly-defined objectives. RoW is a good example: follow path to Winter Portal, enter, follow new path to Pale Tower, enter, close Winter Portal, etc. WotW, on the other hand, expects a high level of player agency. While it's extremely railroady in that you'll be taking orders from an Evil Overlord (at least at first), the nitty-gritty details are entirely up to you. For instance, at the end of this Book, you'll be given orders that boil down to "go here and destroy X". How you go about this is your decision. The GM notes flesh out 5 possible strategies (none of which involve a frontal assault) and also include a mechanical way for me to calculate the effectiveness of any off-the-wall shenanigans you might come up with. I even have two full pages of town gossip (both true and false) in case someone wants to chat up the locals.
The path of a villain is a hard one, and for most of the campaign, a poorly-planned frontal assault will only get you killed. Intelligence-gathering, careful use of skills, and smart tactics are the way to go here. This AP is nice in that combat isn't the only way to solve problems. Careful use of social skills, knowledge of literary tropes, etc will also be rewarded.
Rebuild or not, you'll be fine. Just realize that the standard AP strategies won't always work here. Good luck, and have fun. :-)
