"Apologies, Grumblejack, obviously my words were misplaced," Albrecht managed to get out through the ogre's crushing grip. Once the ogre released him, Albrecht moved over to Black Jack.

"Ready?"

I hope no one is overly attached to Grumblejack, he'll likely be dead before we leave the castle. Two errors: first was laying his hand on Albrecht, second was calling him a pissant.

Minor Crab-beast

In this instance you get a little leeway - but in future please do not assume NPC actions.
Specifically above from Albrecht - you don't get to decide if Grumblejack releases you. That is a decision that I as the DM will make based on your actions and if necessary your rolls.

Grumblejack holds Albrecht solid for a few more moments clearly conflicted over his desire to ignore the pleas of the human's companions... but he does drop the man roughly and inelegantly to the floor. The brute then lumbers over to the interrogation room and squeezes through the door to wait with Shendalyn.

Map + Initiative + Start of Combat will be up a bit later tonight after I get home from work.

I'd simply done so in this one instance as you'd expressed that Grumblejack was waiting for Albrecht to apologise and written that in for expediency. Otherwise I'd not have made the assumption. It won't be an issue in future. Now, in what amusing manner shall Albrecht off the lumbering oaf? ;)

Male Gaav (52/52 hitpoints) Inquisitor

Oh dear...

I realise that post might seem confrontational in nature after reading it back to myself, which wasn't the intention. Apologies if any offence has been taken.

Minor Crab-beast

No offence taken and moving on...

As the group of mismatched villains small and tall move into their places of hiding, Blackerly and three other guards ascend the stairs. Blackerly speaks boldly "Come now little poppets, time to go back into your cells" before adding quietly to one of the guards "No need to be gentle men, I'll not hold it against ye if ye kill one or two."

Map

I've put in a few assumptions for positions - at present the door to Grumblejack and Shendalyn is closed, while the door to the cells is open. I put Mi'Dre in the alcove (fire is not burning) so that he'd have a chance to flank around behind - though you can start with the others if you like.
If you want to start in a different position, then just say so in your first post.

Initiative Block:
Black Jack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
Shendalyn: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20
Albina: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19
Albrecht: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
Mi'Dre: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Grumblejack: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (20) - 1 = 19
Guards + Blackerly: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9

Antipaladin lvl 3

After looking at tbe map i guess we will use the corridor to the cells as our choke point. Since I am the bait my action will be total defense.

As they move to their positions Jack wispers to Albrecht.
And I thought I was the one with a knack for making new friends... chuckle.

After arriving at his position the blackguard ready his shield to take the upcoming beating. When he can hear the guards at the other room he hits his shield with the butt of his weapon making a loud "CLANK" and shouts:

Blackerly is that you? You fat pig! Your boy hit like an 8 years old sissy. You should dress this kids with skirts. I always knew you liked the wrong gender Blackerly!

Hahaha

Albina delays until the guards pass the others and the trap is sprung.

Male Gaav (52/52 hitpoints) Inquisitor

Nope, fireplace is good. I forgot about that in the room description :)

And ALbrecht, none taken, I think we all have to make sure we keep our in character disputes, and out of character opinions separate, as I'm sure there will be some :p (in character disputes that is)

Mi'Dre tenses and relaxes his sore muscles as he waits inside the fireplace, doing his best not to stir up the soot too much as he waits for Blackerly and Co to move further into the room.

Delaying until Blackerly or Grumblejack act, whichever comes first.

Minor Crab-beast

Shendalyn:
You see Grumblejack's brow furrow slightly before he seems to have a lightbulb moment. In pantomine he puts a finger to his lips to shush before mimicing himself throwing the door wide and pitching a chair through. He readies himself with a chair in one hand and the door handle in the other.
Or in non-ogre panto - he's delaying until the guards move, then opening the door and pitching a chair.

Grumblejack will not go before the guards, so just need Albrecht's Round 1 and I'll collate and move things forward.

Arcanist 8 | HP: 30 | AC: 15 (14 Touch, 12 Flatfooted) | CMD: 16 | Fort: +3, Reflex: +6, Will: +8| Init: +9 | Perception: +3, Sense Motive: +1

Shendalyn smiles and nods liking this ogres idea.

Albrecht holds until the guards are further into the room so they can swing the trap shut.

Minor Crab-beast

Blackerly barks at a fair haired guard "Horace, go see if you can shut him up" as he moves warily into the room...
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
...spotting Mi'Dre in the fireplace. Pointing with his sword he tells another guard "Jenkins, get the devil-spawn." before standing ready for an assault.

Aforementioned fair haired guard moves to the cell entrance before spying Black Jack, Albrecht and Albina - moving forward to engage Black Jack.

A second guard towards where Blackerly pointed...
Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
...though he can't pick out the devil. He has his shield raised defensively.

The final guard follows Horace towards the cells.

DM Notes:
Blackerly: Move and ready action to strike first adjacent.
Horace: Double move

Grumblejack then shoves the interrogation chamber door asunder and hefts a chair through the freshly opened portal at Blackerly...
Chair Toss: 1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (7) + 2 - 4 = 5
...missing, but clearly startling the man. Grumblejack bellows "Little un's let Grumblejack out.... bad news for you" roaring with enjoyment.

Map to come when I get son to sleep tonight - but the guards are in P,5; Q,7; P,15. Blackerly in P,11
Guard in P,15 is flat-footed to Mi'Dre in round 1.

Albrecht skirts around the guard in P5, taking care not to come too close until he is behind the man (movement: O3 -> R3 -> R5 -> Q6, which should avoid any AoO). He then uses his longsword to try and impale the guard on its point.

Longsword attack @ guard: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20

Mi'Dre enjoyed the look of shock on Blackerly's face as Grumblejack burst into the room, though he suppressed a chuckle. Even if Blackerly had noticed him it didn't seem like the idiotic guard could pick him out and he didn't want to give himself away. As the idiot drew within arms reach of the fireplace, Mi'Dre stepped swiftly forwards and tried to claw past the man's shield.

Albina steps out, though her bolt of flame does not meet flesh. Albrecht has more luck, dealing Horace a wicked slash across the back of his waist. The guard remains standing... albeit barely.

Mi'Dre steps from the shadows and scores a raking blow with his claw before the guard gets his wits about him enough to block the second strike.

Going to post my next action just in case I don't get time over the weekend so I don't hold up proceedings.

If Jack fails to kill Horace.

Albrecht becomes aware of the presence of a guard behind him but presses the attack against Horace. With a flourish, he attempts to finish off the wounded guard.

Longsword attack @ Horace: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Longsword damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

He then takes a step to the side (R5) in order to let Jack have a clear run at the fresh guard.

If Jack kills Horace.

Albrecht spins on his heel and flashes out his longsword at the newcomer.

Longsword attack @ newcomer: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
Longsword damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

He then steps (R5) out of the way to permit Jack a clean run at the newcomer.

Minor Crab-beast

You still threaten the areas around you while prone - so yes, Albrecht can provide flanking

Albrecht attempts to crawl away from the guard while Jack presses the attack (move to R5) before standing shakily.

Only move I can see that gives Albrecht a chance.

Minor Crab-beast

From the PRD:
Crawling: You can crawl 5 feet as a move action. Crawling incurs attacks of opportunity from any attackers who threaten you at any point of your crawl. A crawling character is considered prone and must take a move action to stand up, provoking an attack of opportunity.

So if you crawl away you'll provoke an attack from the guard. You could still attack from prone at a -4 penalty; take defensive measures (fighting defensively or total defense); attempt to Bluff (as a standard action) - which allow you to then crawl 5ft without an AoO.

Minor Crab-beast

Albrecht can ret-con his proposed actions to ones that don't provoke

Black Jack draws the attention of the guard away from the felled Albrecht... and while his strike is inaccurate, he has done enough to save his new companion.

Jenkins flails his sword around at the assaulting devil...
Longsword: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13

Grumblejack squeezes into the room proper and attempts to envelop Blackerly in a bear hug, drawing an opportunistic cut from the sergeant...
