Thought I'd throw in Cruxcarr's thoughts as well as his actions and words - give everyone an insight into what makes this brutish mage tick...
Realise that I don't want to spend 100 posts establishing his character when you guys are mid-game, so hopefully these fuller posts will allow me to hit the ground running (well waddling in the case of Cruxcarr lol)

I did that with blackjack accidenaly on another pbp. Now everytime I post there Blackjack is the first alias that pop on the list for me. Which have made me repeat the mistake a couple of times lol.

With regards our disguises, if we do pose a clergy of good faiths, then Cruxcarr will appear as a beneign friar-merchant of Abadar (same look as suggested in the game thread) Both faiths have an recognised alliance - which ironically fits our modus operandi :)
You don't really need to worry too much about the Captain of the longship and his crew - they knows that you are Asmodeans to start with. Feel free to with-hold your true visages... but he already knows what you are.

Saying that - so wear disguises from the get go, adds a certain level of mystery and malevolent nei? After all no need for the good captain to see our true faces until such time as its advantageous?
Remember that Disguise Self doesn't change you physically... Mi'Dre should be able to freak out people more than enough just by brushing them with his arm ;)
Since there isn't much to actually do on the trip North until you get closer to the Watch Wall I've conveniently hand-waved it away. If you did want to achieve anything - then feel free to put it in retrospect, but I'm sure we'd all prefer to sink our teeth into something tangible than doing a low-rent version of Days of our Longship ;)
Been listening to the dune audiobooks too much. Just had a horrid vision of Shendalyn as Baron Harkonnen (minus the incredible amounts of gay), Mi'Dre as Fayd, Albina as Pietr (with added curves), and Black Jack as Raban.
So, plan is now we immediately cut the throats of any royal family we are sent to assassinate. No one comes near a paralyzed duke to gloat nor exiles his son to a wasteland filled with religious fanatics that ride city sized monsters for fun. Understood?

The preserved skin of an angel retains a portion of celestial grace and can be crafted into leather, hide, or studded leather armor. Angelskin radiates a moderate good aura that masks malign auras. Any evil aura radiated by the wearer is reduced in strength by 10 Hit Dice. Auras reduced below 1 Hit Die can’t be detected by means such as detect evil; the creature doesn’t detect as evil, though this has no effect on other aspects of the creature’s alignment. For example, a weak chaotic creature wearing angelskin armor detects as chaotic, but not evil.
Spells and supernatural abilities that have special effects when cast on or used against creatures with evil alignments (even beneficial effects) have a 20% chance of treating an evil wearer as neutral instead. Ongoing effects such as smite evil make this roll the first time they are used against the creature; if the effect treats the target as neutral, it does so for the remainder of the effect’s duration. If the ongoing effect applies to an area and the wearer leaves that area, the percentage chance should be rolled again. Permanent magic items such as holy weapons always treat the wearer as evil. Armor constructed from angelskin is always of masterwork quality; the masterwork cost is included in the prices given below.
Angelskin has 5 hit points per inch of thickness and hardness 5.

Yanno how good people are all 'demons are corruptive and a blight on the earth' and stuff? I think Albina would feel the same way about wearing angel skin. She works hard for that Aura of Evil, she doesn't *want* to hide her light under a bushel (although she'll accept the necessity of doing so, so long as those namby-pamby Iomedan usurpers are running the asylum)!
Eh, they say the plan never survives first contact with the enemy, and we *are* the bad-guys, so I guess it makes sense that our own plan wouldn't survive first contact with us... :)

Cruxcarr was never going to get away with approaching five armed and wary men supported by eight back on the other ship and deliver a touch attack unmolested.
I try to allow for common sense for reactions and what not - and everyone would have certainly noticed Cruxcarr beginning to chant away in Infernal and had a chance to do something prior to his being able to deliver a touch attack. Hence an opportunity to peel back the action a bit and rectify ... if you want to that is :P
Weekend being weekend henceforth the lackage of postage.
DM VoV will be flying out of Malaysia and back into Australia on 28th September and will be visiting family for a couple of weeks through to the 15th of October. While I should still be able to check in periodically it will likely cause a few interruptions and my posts may involve a little more brevity than usual.
I'll definitely try to keep things ticking over in thread, but it's highly unlikely to be daily.
Oh - and Malaysia is indeed pretty cool. Lots and lots of good cheap food ;)
mmm, fair enough. It's a level-less & classless system which uses a dice pool mechanic for resolution. Advancement is a bit unusual too. I've been considering running a PbP game using it on here and figured I'd see if anyone had heard of it and/or was interested in it :)
Well, for anyone who's interested in looking at Burning Wheel, I'm taking a stab at running a PbP of it. It's probably going to be pretty slow to get going however, as not too many people seem to know the system on the forums here (that or they're not interested/don't trust me to run it :p)
