Yeah it is, though I had trouble finding a picture of a kid. There were one or two of little girls from a board game called Key Largo, but they didn't look innocent enough :p had to go with the boy instead.
Yeah I haven't forgotten :p Still not sure whether he wants to split it or not (he probably will) :p Also I didn't say sell it, I said have it ground up for silver dust :) For spells like curse water and unhallow and such :p
Longbow 75gp
2xQuiver 2 gp
Bull's eye lantern 12gp
2xOil, pint flask 0.2gp
Backpack 2gp
Bedroll 0.1gp
Tent 10gp
Flint and steal 1gp
Grappling Hook 1 gp
Pouch Belt 1 gp
Spell Component Pouch 5 gp
Sack 0.1 gp
Waterskin 1gp
Disguise Kit 50gp
10x Rations, trail. 5gp
There are still 35 gp left unspent, any chance I could get that in money or in a precious gem? The Lord's servants also have to pay for inns and gate taxes...lol
Well Mi'Dre hasn't actually told anyone about that so far :p I did mean to post something along the lines in the 'what he'd been doing the last few days' but forgot, so if you want to retcon slightly and say he divied it up, delivering a pouch with 300gp to Black Jack and Shendalyn, and keeping the other share for himself and Albina that's fine with me.
Mi'Dre will let Albina hold his cash for him if she's okay with that, which will be 665gp (half of which is her share, though he'll be more than happy to let her borrow from his share if she needs it) and 25gp of silver dust which he will give her as a gift. He'll be sharing the rotgut whiskey with Grumblejack while he hangs out with him a bit (something else I wanted him to do during the intervening time but forgot :p). The question is does he realize what's up with 'Blackerly's Medicine' before he shares it with Grumblejack too :p
As long as we are distributing coin around, there's also the coin in the pouch embroidered onto the scarf of useful items. Albina hasn't detached it yet (or any of the other items we ended up not using) just because we didn't really have an immediate use for it yet.
She'll do so, and count de money (de moh-nay!). No reason not to distribute it, since she's got more important matters to save her sudden-but-inevitable betrayal for.

What? We can't betray the cardinal and his puppet devil together? For shame!

First rule of being evil. Occasionally do something trustworthy and reliable and team player-ish.
Just a note - had today off work and hence the lackage of posts. Weekends being weekends with chidlets makes it hard to get a decent post in also. It will improve over time, but at present my evenings are curtailed with the amusement of one that does not sleep much.
So apologies, update will be incoming as soon as able - but might not be until later this weekend.
While the topic of Mi'Dre's Hit-Dice has been brought up (by me admittedly :p) will we be following all the rules from Appendix 4: Monsters as PCs from the bestiary? I mostly ask because of the following.
Bestiary 1, pg 314 wrote:
Note that in a mixed group, the value of racial Hit Dice and abilities diminish as a character gains levels. It is recommended that for every 3 levels gained by the group, the monster character should gain an extra level, received halfway between the 2nd and 3rd levels. Repeat this process a number of times equal to half the monster’s CR, rounded down. Using the minotaur example, when the group is at a point between 6th and 7th level, the minotaur gains a level, and then again at 7th, making him a minotaur barbarian 4. This process repeats at 10th level, making him a minotaur barbarian 8 when the group reaches 10th level. From that point onward, he gains levels normally.
I like to know these things so I can plot more effectively *strokes his fluffy white cat*
Mi'Dre - sorry I forgot to reply to your question until now...
As a rough rule, I'd be using CR = character level-1, So a vanilla Gaav would be the same as a level 4 character; MaGaav = 7th, etc. For monster characters it can be quite hard to strike an effective balance, so we'll be eyeballing as we go along.
Any leveling beyond that will be 1 for 1, so a MaGaav Fighter 3 would be a 10th level equivalent.
Hey guys, I got some vacation time at work so tomorrow I will be starting a backpacking trip here in South America. I dont belive I will have much internet access for the next 10 days. Fell free to npc Jack if needed. See you guys soon.
Hope you don't mind me hand-waving the last of the draugr into death. Freshly out of the weekend and ready to fact the ultimate challenge of the trials of Thorn... Level 3 awaits if you can manage to lay it low :P
I'm loving this :) compliments to the sheer arrogance of Shendalyn - My campaign has a character very similar to yours and I'm spoonfeeding him some of your quotes.
Sooo, what do I get for my third Gaav Hit Dice? Things still to get:
an extra DR 4/good,
immunity to fire, resist 10 acid and cold,
fly 60 ft. (good),
noxious breath +1/day,
summon devil,
greater teleport (self plus 50 lbs. of objects only) at-will spell-like ability,
shared senses and swarming
as well as:
+1 HD, +1 BAB, +1 Will, +1 feat, +6 skill points
I'm glad people are enjoying Shendalyn's disdain for villainous tropes.
Right now I'm finding myself at a crossroads. You see I definitely want to get my hands on Eldritch heritage but I'm torn between grabbing Arcane for the inevitable imp familiar down the road and some improved spellcasting or Abyssal for the rather decent claw attacks that will only get better down the road the interesting implications it makes, and the significant strength bonus it adds. Decisions decisions.
Abyssal! We don't take kindly to your types round here >:( I guess that's what you mean by the interesting implications though.
As for what I think is reasonable... well the last three on the list the only one I really want is greater teleport :D but that's a bit powerful I think. I'd say DR increase to 3/good, maybe resist 5 acid/cold, and uhh Fly 20 or 30 (poor or average, wings are still healing)
Oh, and if anyone's uncomfortable with Mi'Dre being creepy and cracking peoples chests open then let me know and I'll try and tone it back more :)
Yeah - Greater Teleport is unlikely to be granted in any case, at least until normal teleport magics are more readily available. Lets go with DR 3/good, the two resists and Fly 30ft Poor.
Shendalyn - the taint of an Abyssal bloodline might make for some more interesting reactions from some, but not insurmountable.
I advanced Albina to 3rd level, but haven't decided yet whether or not I want to move her towards the Diabolist prestige class or just stay straight Cleric.
Diabolist will end her advancement in channel energy and domain powers, and she'll have to UMD a scroll of 4th level lesser planar ally and make a good check to bind a devil to get in before her 8th level, which, the way I roll, will probably require burning through two or three scrolls before the dice bless me with success on the binding.
Plus five whole levels of being hard to resurrect could suck...
Hmmm, it looks like a pretty interesting prestige class, just depends how much you want to summon/call devils, and other infernal things :)
You're not actually that hard to resurrect... though I guess since we'd be doing it from a scroll or NPC (unless Thorn deigns to do it for us) that might cause some issues...

I've never liked the planar X spells, 'cause it's generally a huge waste of money, and in a game where your WBL is an assumed part of your characters assumed power level (through gear and equipment), in the long run, you end up nerfing yourself a little bit more every time you cast the spell and fork over gold for temporary service. (Not any more than blowing money on a bunch of potions, scrolls or wands, though, so it's hardly a unique thing.)
I am intrigued by the idea of having an Imp companion, 'though.
Well I was also including Summon Monster spells as there's the Augment Summoning as a bonus feat at 3rd level.
I agree about the Planar X spells though, they've always seemed a bit weird, more of a storytelling thing than an actual useful thing unless you want to burn a tonne of cash.
