I'm definately interested in this but I have one quick question. Where do elves fit in this setting? Any big changes from golarion elves or tolkein elves, anything that makes them stand out?

I've got in mind a elven cleric or oracle (w/ Dark Tapestry or Heavens mystery) who believes that the race is nothing more than heralds for something far worse. A little Lovecraft vibe, but nothing that would dominate the story, he would just think that he's better than everyone and that they're all going to die a nasty tentacular death. Some of his powers might push at times.

Barring that, i've also got an idea for a LE magus with the mentality of everything and everyone is just another path to power to be exploited, used up, then cast aside.

There's nothing particularly different re: elves from the usual Pathfinder/D&D tropes. Feel free to roll with one.

If there are names for other saints already defined in the setting, I can change her name to fit one of them as appropriate.

What language would old religions texts be in?

Your improvised Saint name is perfectly fine with me.

As for the old religious texts...I'm winging it here; let's make up a dead language akin to Latin...Old Mitran, or something. :{

Thanks for your consideration, Mark.

If he instead doesn't belong to any religion, then I'd have to choose murder. To be perfectly frank, I've got a preference for this path. I'll have a character short story up at the latest on the 10th that'll explain this specific murder better than I can now. Well, that is, if you'll accept the idea of this character. Odd circumstances, definitely.

I'd say you'll be better off following this idea for Solomon. I'll let you elaborate a little more before adding you to list officially.

Well here's my submission:

Player/Character Questions:

Player Questions:

1. Do you have previous pbp experience as player and/or DM? If so, on Paizo's boards, or elsewhere?

A: I have experience in PbP on pazio's boards. I have practicle experience as a DM IRL and have played pathfinder, 3.X, and Gurps.

2. Where do you live (specifically, in what time zone)?

A: Austin, Tx. Central Time Zone (GMT-6). I keep odd hours and either post in my free-time while on my laptop in class or in the morning or late at night.

3. How often can you expect to post (barring illness, vacation, etc.)?

A: Usually once a day, but I let a games pacing dictate how often I post. I can post 2-4 times in a day if pacing is quick and everybody is getting to interact and enjoy themselves. In all honestly I will occasionally become a little busy and might post less than once every 24 hours, but every time I do I rarely ever exceed 48 hours.

Character Questions:

*Most of this is will be answered by below as I'm simply copy pastaing character fluff. Or in his profile*

-----

Backround/Crime:

Crime: Sedition Punishment: Beheading

Vladimir was born to a once noble family whose fall from grace came upon the dawning of the shining lord and the outlawing of devil worship.

His family once had high hopes for him as his conception was overseen with a dark ritual with the intentions of breeding a fiendish prince to take the reigns of the noble house as even before their tragic fall more recent events had turned over many bad years and they had been struggling financially.

Upon his houses fall from grace Vladimir swore off Asmodeus and all forms of reverence for evil deities along with turning on his former siblings and various many other family members. The act spared his head the bloc and allowed him further ability to scavenge the financial remains of his noble house at the price of the blood of his own kin.

Vladimir is a liar and over the course of the next 15 years of his life he restructured his assets and harbored the storm. All the while he masqueraded as a philanthropist accumulating followers and power. In time he began to hold secret meetings where he would discuss politics often critical of the government among like-minded individuals that over the years began to morph from mere anti-establishment political discussions to outright plans for revolution and with it the resurgence of the worship of Asmodeus and evil gods outlawed by the current establishment.

Over time his secret cult like cabal grew splintering off into terrorist cells dedicated to causing chaos among his competitors increasing his businesses profits and spreading outright violence against the government masquerading about as a fight for religious freedom. (Someone's planning on taking leadership at level 7 :P)

Eventually he was implicated and his assets where seized and his ambitions as an aspiring noble where crushed a second time in his life. Furious at his trial he showed his true colours and promised to burn this insipid country to the ground with hell-fire as a new land under the banner of his dark lord would rise from the ashes like a great fiendish phoenix for the grievance of twice damning what is rightfully his.... birthright and a universally natural calling to hold great power and influence.

Words that would unfortunately fall on deaf ears none expecting the true hell he had promised them all....

Appearance:
Vladimir carries himself with the pomp and regal befit for a noble. He stands unusually tall at 5'11'' and has long white hair, gaunt features, an pale complexion with a dark gray ashen undertone, piercing bright blue eyes, and is considered by most quite handsome.

His infernal heritage is noticeable by his small vestigial horns that his long hair usually obscures. Even so he's fond of tri-cornered hats to hide that particular curiosity even further. His nails naturally grow in at sharp points and an odd natural odor of sulfur that persists about him usually obscured with cologne. He has a birth-mark that resembles three eyes the infernal symbol of the arch-devil Barbatos the gate-keeper of hell upon his back. Vladimir also seems to never cast a shadow.

Personality:

Vladimir's inhuman charm would get him far in life, however his charms are also matched by his arrogance. He values decorum and politeness highly and applies it amusingly in situations that obviously don't call for it often apologizing for any inconvenience before killing someone. He doesn't view himself as evil (even though he is), but rather strong in contrast to others weakness. He isn't stupidly cruel, but rather harsh and uncaring of those around him often finding nothing ill-morality in exploiting others vulnerabilities or misfortunes for his own gain.

In an ironic contrast any misfortune that befalls himself he views as a twisting of the natural order of the universe (which obviously should revolve around him) and a heretical perversion of reality that is manipulated by the weak and undeserving.

He thinks of himself as a political prisoner and claims to be an innocent philanthropist magically dominated to spill a confession and set up by his competitors. He worships Asmodeus as well as other arch-devils and holds reverence for other evil deities and outsiders he views as strong and powerful in contrast to the weakness of good deities displayed by their pitiful tenants of compassion and mercy, but prefers to keep that a secret shared only among his closest allies.

Role in the party:
Vladimir can function as a great party talker, but is primarily an arcane blaster character in combat who prefers to stay out of the front lines due to being squishy spamming daze or acid splash.

Vladimir is uniquely suited for a prison break out due to his ability to grow claws as a free action giving him offensive capability in melee without needing a weapon. As well as a full range of spells available to him without the pesky need for material components.

At later levels he'll be able to combine his natural attacks from his claws with touch of fatigue to fatigue opponents who get to close to him in melee.

Primarily he'll be blasting with ranged spells (acid splash/daze) or ending fights quickly with color spray and stabbing those with his claws if anyone gets too close to him.

As a sorcerer he's relatively powerful and has ample opportunity to cause arcane havoc with little to no resources, which should be nice given our position.

----

If you're allowing the fiendish heritage feat. Here's my roles:

Dice Rolls:

1d100 ⇒ 68
1d100 ⇒ 34
1d100 ⇒ 44

*I'll take the 68; if you'd like me to reroll or simply pick from a list I will. If you don't want to use the feat I'll simply pick a different feat instead.

I will probably produce an alternate submission relatively soon, as well. *Tips hat*

Player Questions:

I have PbP experience as a player and GM on Paizo.
My time zone is EST
I expect to post at least once a day. If I ever get a real life gaming going I might not post on Saturday or Sunday, but I will try.
Character questions
1.I am really bad and slow with names. That is normally the last thing I figure out, but I will have one before the deadline.
2. 6'4 240, muscular. I might give him tattoos. I don't know yet. He has jet black hair. He always looks upset even though he rarely gets upset.
3. If I go with the battle oracle he will be a no non-sense type of guy who has a “business-like” attitude. Work first, play later. He is never mean for the sake of being mean, but he can be somewhat cold when things have to be done. It is difficult to upset him, but once he gets upset he holds grudges, and takes them farther than they need to be taken which is why he is in the situation he is in now. He will most likely be LE
Time Oracle: He has a great interest in the planes, and other scholarly pursuits, but only in what they can do for him. He knows his affinity with time affords him great advantages, and he makes sure he gets everything he can without caring too much for what it does to others.

4 Battle Oracle: He was actually a low ranking officer in charge of a bunch of field medics. His crime was allowing a noble and a member of the government to die when he could have easily prevented it. They thought he was in on it.

Time Oracle: He is in trouble for dueling to the death on several occasions, trafficking with fiends which I am assuming is as bad as witchcraft, and heresy.

These will be detailed in the background stories.

I have decided on my character.

He will be a male human Time Oracle. All information is in the spoiler. If I forget something let me know and I will add it.
character information:
Appearance:
He is about 6'0 200 pounds. Other than that I will base the appearance off of the avatar.

Personality:
Mr.X has a superiority complex. This is one reason he breaks rules that others are expected to follow. He also has problems accepting responsibility for the things he does. Mr.X does not think he is really a bad person. He is just put into bad situations. At almost no point will he not see himself as the victim despite his ego or greed being what got him into trouble. He either “had to do it”, or “they deserved it”.

Background:
Mr.X was born to a middle class family. His father was a tax collector while his mother stayed home and took care of him. He fascination with magic first came when a spellcaster killed a man with a fireball in the middle of the street. He had never been so impressed. His parents had never been so horrified. From that point on he always desired to be able to do such things, but he did not have the aptitude for wizardy, nor was he gifted with the powers or sorcery so he had to settle for being normal. Growing up, he a friend named Thomas Willowton. Thomas was very intelligent, and did have what it took to become a wizard. He was somewhat of a prodigy, being able to summon minor being from other realms. Even though Thomas was told not too he often continued to do so, and Mr.X was more than happy to help. He became the researcher. Often he would ask anyone who would lend him an ear about creatures from the outer realms if he could not find the information on his own. That kept him and Thomas from bringing something into this world that could not be dealt with. When he was not doing research he was doing theoretical spellcrafting, and for someone with no formal training he was not bad at all. Eventually Thomas graduated from the academy, and after going on a few adventures of his own opened up a business that catered to adventures. One service the business performed was to figure out the function of magical items. Thomas might have been the one that had the formal training, but Mr.X was a natural at such things. Later Mr.X was given the responsibility of doing magic based research for customers just like he did when Thomas was in school. Mr.X's work ended up bringing in just as much money as Thomas was. Eventually he wanted to be a partner. Thomas declined saying that since he was the one to do the adventuring and risk dying he would not share the business with anyone.

This was the first time Mr.X felt like life had dealt him a bad hand. Many times people to the store, just to talk to him, and he would use that to get a sale. As smart as Thomas was, he was not a businessman at least not in the sense of being able to keep the customers coming. Mr.X tried to put the thoughts away, but he could not do it. He had heard of people who had dealt with devils or other fiends. He had to be careful to not sell his soul in order to find a way to get his own business. What he wanted to do was not that bad. He was only leveling the playing field. The problem was that he had no way to reliably summon anything. Thomas did however. After much talking, well really goading by questioning Thomas's ability he got him to call an imp. Upon its arrival Thomas was sent to the kitchen to get drinks. Finding a way to get it to cooperate might take awhile or at least that is what Thomas was told. The imp a creature of evil and manipulation itself saw the greed in Mr.X's eyes. He immediately thought of how to use these two mortals to get his more powerful bosses into the material plane and thereby get some sort of reward, maybe even a promotion. The imp played itself as the pitiful creature beholden to serve such a powerful caster. Just by resisting a little at first he sold the act.

This continued for a while except for the fact that later outsiders were not imps since Thomas was getting more comfortable than he should have dealing with such forces. It basically got to the point where Thomas would call creatures for Mr.X because he was no longer afraid of things going wrong.

Unknown to Thomas he was being setup. Mr.X told the authorities that “his boss” was dealing with dark creatures and forcing him to cooperate. Why? Well Mr.X needed to give the devils a base of operations on the material place as part of the deal. The business or the basement of it would work well, but only after Thomas was out of the way. Mr.X felt bad, but had Thomas been fair this would not have had to happen. It was all Thomas's fault. To make a long story short Thomas was accused of trafficking with fiends, among other crimes and arrested. Due to the connections of Thomas's father who was not killed by the people Mr.X had hired to prevent this very thing, strings were pulled and Mr.X had to take the stand. He figured he could lie his way out of it, but things got worse. In an almost unprecedented maneuver Zone of Truth was used. The infiltration of fiends was important enough to go above the law since it was deemed a matter of national security. In the end the decision was reversed. Mr.X was found guilty of trafficking with fiends, treason, heresy, and witchcraft.

During his stay in jail, while his fate was being decided some guards paid him a visit and beat him badly, severely injuring his leg. He eventually went to sleep. While dreaming a voice came to him saying that if he pledged himself he would grant him one boon. Mr.X wanted to be able to see an attack against him before it took place. In return the leg would be forever wounded as a reminder that Mr.X could never outrun his new benefactor and he should never try.
--------
My first oracle power is the ones that allows me to roll initiative twice. The fluff is that I see the person about to attack, just before they actually do so.

edit:Mr.X is not his real name. It is just a placeholder.

edit2:My party role will be the diplomacy guy. I have knowledge arcana, and planes as skills along with UMD, spellcraft and sense motive.

I will basically be the party healer to a large extent, and a secondary combatant.

RPG Superstar Season 9 Top 32

Player Questions:

1. Do you have previous pbp experience as player and/or DM? If so, on Paizo's boards, or elsewhere?
Some experience as a player, not too much. Almost exclusively on these boards.
We've played in two games together: Apothecary of Caliphas' Carrion Crown (where Agrimar would be welcome back, BTW) and Finder's Ruins of Madaro-Shanti (which has died, to great shame, but perhaps some players are still lurking?)

2. Where do you live (specifically, in what time zone)?
Eastern Europe, GMT +2

3. How often can you expect to post (barring illness, vacation, etc.)?
1/day usually, sometimes more often, occasionally skip a day when RL gets too tiresome.

Character Questions:

1. Who are you? (Name, race, class)
Zeljka, a NE female human witch with the Occult patron and the Gravewalker archetype. The desired role is arcane debuffer and undead summoner.

2. What do you look like?
Thin, pale skin with dark threads of blood vessels criss-crossing it. Dusty, unkempt dark hair, the hairline goes unusually high. Fingernails are broken in places, with dirt under them. Green eyes gleaming malevolently from deep in the eye sockets. The gaunt woman in her thirties clutches what could pass for a rough-hewn teddy bear, except it is actually a grotesque big-headed human doll, stuffed with grave earth and made of actual human skin. The woman smells faintly of earth and decay.

3. How would you describe your personality?
Zeljka is mad with grief and solely concentrated on her suffering. She has a twisted view on good vs evil, as she thinks that while people live, they inevitably harm each other, but when they are dead, they are truly placid and carry no more evil. She is fascinated by corporeal undead, whom she views as more perfect and free of sin than the living. She couldn't care less for the suffering of others, and might be easily infuriated by begging for pity since she is sure she deserves all of it herself.

4. What crime have you committed to cause your incarceration in Branderscar Prison?
Witchcraft (primary). Consorting with dark powers, graverobbing, desecration.

background:

Zeljka had a rough childhood and eventually escaped her family home with a dashing handsome young man, who turned out to be a descendant of the old Asmodeus-worshipping nobility, tracing his bloodline to the half-fiends of yore. They lived in recluse for a while and she got pregnant with his child, when one day he got arrested by the so-called Paladins of Mitra. She was there when he was hanged for desertion from the Talingarde Army, but there was no funeral for him. She was told that all the hanged men were buried in an unmarked common grave, and at night she came in digging for his body with her bare hands. From the extreme physical and emotional stress, her pregnancy ended prematurely right there. Laying in a puddle of her own blood on a fresh grave, holding a lifeless foetus in her hands, she swore her soul to any power, no matter how dark, which would bring her loved ones back bodily. And her plea did not go unheard.

RPG Superstar 2015 Top 8

Player Questions:

1. Do you have previous pbp experience as player and/or DM? If so, on Paizo's boards, or elsewhere?

I have played 2 long running PBP campaigns before, but neither on paizo's boards.

2. Where do you live (specifically, in what time zone)?
Central US timezone (-5/-6 DST GMT)

3. How often can you expect to post (barring illness, vacation, etc.)?
I can post at least once per day.

Character Questions:

1. Who are you? (Name, race, class)
Broosilith Ravenmoon, Elf, Witch

2. What do you look like?
Pale white skin, black eyes (pupil and iris are one), raven black hair, long, pointed ears, beak like nose, wide mouth with thin lips. Slight stature and slim of build.

3. How would you describe your personality?
She seems dreamy and spacey, but is uncannily aware. She believes that she is good, and morally better than those around her. She doesn't deserve to be in prison damm it! Asmodeus is a bringer of truth and knowledge and light and power, after all. People should be free to worship him. Broosilith is geeky and methodical, and thinks that those that deny her what she wills and desires deserve the pain that she intends them to receive.

4. What crime have you committed to cause your incarceration in Branderscar Prison?
Broosilith was found (rightfully) fact guilty of many crimes-- theft, heresy, fraud, consorting with dark powers, and desecration. She was a pawn in a scheme to bilk the high priest of a temple of mithras out of over 100,000 gp worth of jeweled religious paraphernalia. And the rich, holier than thou scumbag deserved to have lost a little money in her opinion.

Really interested in playing this

He is a quiet man, but will not hesitate to take action. he ran away from home at 16, and was taken in by a monastery of asmodeus who trained him in the way of the monk. His parents were both priests of mithras, and he hated getting it jammed down his throat all of the time.

4. What crime have you committed to cause your incarceration in Branderscar Prison?

He killed a priest of mithras who was good friends with both of his parents. He stabbed a dagger into the preists neck and twisted it around so it completely ruptured his windpipe

Hmm.. will likely submit a female Halfling Rogue, preparing to go Assn.. Who uses the Childlike feat :o

dot for interrest.

I really don't have the time for another game, but this is a very cool concept. I played in an "evil" campaign back in college ('84-'85) - our DM was very creative and we had a wonderful time. One of my top 5 gaming memories. Good luck!

I agree, it sounds like it would be a really interesting idea, if you got the right group of players together.

Bolded for spot-on-ness. Group dynamic is important in any game. In an evil game, the wrong mix of players is a killing thing.

Hi everybody, busy day ahead today...I'll be looking in, but may not have much to say. I'll try to answer any pressing questions, though. Get those last minute concepts in, and I'll post the final pool of applicants by tomorrow afternoon.

Liberty's Edge

This is an alternate take on a character I already play in a Kingmaker campaign – a Paladin of Erastil. She was on the precipice of darkness when she found her faith - what if that had never happened? Without Erastil to heal her conscience, who would she have become?

Player Questions:
1. Do you have previous pbp experience as player and/or DM? If so, on Paizo's boards, or elsewhere?
I’m currently playing and DMing one game each on Paizo’s boards. I’ve participated in several others that fizzled out, and DM’d a few on rpol.net.

2. Where do you live (specifically, in what time zone)?
US, Mountain Time zone
3. How often can you expect to post (barring illness, vacation, etc.)?
I post daily during the week – sometimes have less access during the weekend.
Character Questions:
1. Who are you? (Name, race, class)
Beatrix, Human Fighter or Cavalier (still on the fence mechanics-wise)
2. What do you look like?
A fair skinned woman of medium build in her mid twenties, Beatrix has a somber face with dark hair and darker eyes.
3. How would you describe your personality?
Beatrix is sullen and cold, and utterly without pity or mercy. Her way of dealing with PTSD was to lock away her feelings, and she’s now numbed her emotions to the point that she feels very little anymore.
4. What crime have you committed to cause your incarceration in Branderscar Prison?
Desertion

full background:

Beatrix was raised in the grasslands, a hardy daughter of farmers. Her brothers handled most of the work, and as she would be passed for any sizable inheritance, she left home to earn a living. At first it was simple guard jobs or escorting caravans, but she quickly found a place in the city guard before finally becoming a soldier.

Her platoon was sent to deal with a revolt in a small village, and upon arriving was ordered to burn the buildings and kill all inhabitants. Following orders, Bea and her companions slaughtered women and children as well as men who put up no resistance.

The guilt tore her apart. Rivers of blood tormented her dreams nightly, and she would be found furiously washing invisible blood from her hands. Unable to continue, she slipped out of camp one night and fled her company. She wandered for weeks but was unable to hold any job and was finally picked up while trying to steal food from a bakery. A constable recognized her as a deserter and she was sent for holding before execution.

What's more emphatic than "Hell YES!"...

It took me awhile but here it is

1. Who are you?

Konrad Carmel, human cavalier,Order of the Cockatrice

2. What do you look like?

Konrad is a tall, sinewy man, with long, blond hair, green eyes and disdainful smile

3. How would you describe your personality?

Konrad is impulsive, fearless, arrogant and vain.
He is prone to saying and doing things with little regard for the consequence relying on his physical and martial prowess, status and wealth to back himself up.
Konrad appreciate the pleasures of life, but he had more than enough of anything the money can buy . His true passions are the hunger for glory, and of course for revenge

4. What crime have you committed to cause your incarceration in Branderscar Prison?

Konrad is the younger brother of Lord Henric Carmel, the head of the old and powerful House Carmel.
He is charged for treason, but refuses to talk about it whit his co-prisoners.

behaind the scenes:
Konrat was actually nothing more than pawn in his older brother's schemes.
Henric was smart enough to understand that House Darius was too powerfull and popular, and to openly act against them would be foolish.
King Markadian however has only one heir – the princess Belinda, the man,who take the princess's hand ,would be the future king.
Henric himself was too plain looking, and already married,Konrad however was perfect, handsome brave and popular jousting champion, and of course allways ready to listen his older brother.
Unfortunately the king rejected the proposal,Henric smiled, but immediately start plotting the king demise.
He was exposed, arrested and executed for treason.

Konrad managed to escape to Carmel Castle.
Lacking deep understanding of the political situation and
enraged about his brother's death,he beheaded the king's emissaries, and issued call to arms against house Darius.

The king however was to popular amongst the common folk, and Carmel family while powerfull and respected was never loved.
Majority of Carmel vassals remained loyal to the king, and as Konrad moved whit his troops to punish them, another group of loyalist seized his own castle from inside.
Konrad tryed to retake it,but as he layed siege, king's army smashed his troops.
Konrad was captured and send to prison to be drawn and quartered as rebel and traitor.

Thank you! I regret that the ugly Real Life monster took me away for awhile, but it is good to be back.

Knowing what I know about where the campaign will be headed, I'm afraid a CN character will really not be very appropriate for this game, sorry.

I have a character idea I'll like to sumbit; the concept has been bouncing around in my head for awhile, and this seems like a good fit.

Background Questions:
Player Questions:

1. Do you have previous pbp experience as player and/or DM? If so, on Paizo's boards, or elsewhere?
Not much, am currently in one game and was in another that faded out pretty quick.

2. Where do you live (specifically, in what time zone)? U.S. Central

3. How often can you expect to post (barring illness, vacation, etc.)?
Once an day easily, but likely at odd times due to working somewhat odd hours. Multiple posts a day are easier as the week closes(thurs-sat)

Character Questions:

1. Who are you? (Name, race, class)
Sirius 'Sterling' Luther, Aasimar Sorcerer

2. What do you look like?
Sirius is slight of frame, the little muscle he has hard-earned and wiry. He has dark hair and and pale colored eyes, something that's gone a long way
towards concealing his heritage. People seem to expect the celestial-born to be blonde haired and smiling, not black haired and scowlingWhen casting (or particularly pissed off) however, they tend to shine in an unearthly manner, something that has not done him
many favors. (I'm picturing that his angelic ancestor was a movanic deva, and that his and his sister had favored that appearance.)

3. How would you describe your personality?
Sirius is grimly optimistic, and has to be; with his very existance being a cosmic joke, not laughing in the face of it would be a crime. His flavor of humor has
taken a more graveyard flavor since his capture, and his sister's death, his current favorite being curiousity over whether they'll get confused in the planes over
where he's supposed to go.

4. What crime have you committed to cause your incarceration in Branderscar Prison? (Note that your choice will convey a mechanical benefit,
but I want the initial decision based on role-playing and background concerns, not the potential benefit. If you'd like more fluff about any
of the following options, feel free to ask. Note also, the omission of crimes like rape, sexual assault, child abuse, and the like. The exclusion
of acts of this nature is deliberate, and not open for negotiation.)

"So, whadda ya in fer?"

"Consorting with dark powers, apparently." Sirius chuckles grimly. "Yeah, I'll agree that the vault was pretty damned dark, and enough coin certainly has
a power of it's own, but really. Do you think they call me Sterling becuase the silver hurts me more?

[ooc]Just to clarify, the actually crime Sirius was commiting when he was caught was high theft. But when one starts flinging 'hellfire' and curses in Infernal upon
being told his sister is dead, it tends to give the wrong impression.

Back Story:

"You are what you choose to be." Sirius will never forget those words, the last he heard from his mother as he and his sister were forced to flee their home. When the twin aasimar had been born, their home village of Aldervale had seen it as a blessing, a sign that the gods truly favored them. The pair was placed on a pedestal, symbols for ever bit of good fortune, and bulwark against the bad. Both Sirius and his sister Ereias were too young to grasp all the nuances of the situation,But all the attention and good will towards their family couldn't be bad, could it?

Then the goblins attacked. Their father, Gerald, had left with the town defense, leaving Sirius and Ereias alone with their mother, Saria. When the goblin burst through the window, she did her best to defend them, but was left bleeding on the floor in moments. The horrid creature turned its attention to the siblings, and while terrified, Sirius stood in front of his sister and yelled at it to leave. When the goblin instead charged, he yelled something he only barely understood, words of fire and ash, and a gout of flame came rushing from his hand, leaving the goblin dead and charred, just as the town priest burst in to their defense. Unfortunately, the holy man understood the words Sirius had used better than he did.

The next week was a blur; their father dead, killed by goblins, mother bedridden with her injuries, cloaked and hooded men constantly at thier home, asking question after question, and demanding answers Sirius couldn't give. Who had he consorted with? What ill bargains had he struck? On the seventh day, the questions finally stopped, but the silence somehow seemed worse. That night, Sirius' mother forced a small bag with food, clothes and a bit of money and told them to run, imparting those last words to them. You are what you choose to be.

Ten years passed, and the twins managed not only to survive, but thrive as opportunistic thieves and con-men. Working with gangs, taking jobs from the upper and lower crust, or simply working as a pair, the Gemini Thieves gained a good bit of fame in all the wrong circles. It certainly wasn't the life that had been planned out for them back in Aldervale, but they had chosen it, and when the two of them were standing triumphant after another scam or job well-done, Sirius couldn't imagine anything better.

Then their luck ran out. A job lifting thithes from the High Church went south, due to treachery or just bad luck, and Sirius was caught working the locks on the vault. Ereias was snagged trying to make a distraction, and in his despration, Sirius called on the words he hadn't uttered since childhood, sending fire at her
captors. The last he saw, she had gotten past the gate, but it wasn't long into his imprisonment that he heard tell of a slip of a girl getting killed trying
to break into a holding cell. He barely even heard them annouce his site of execution for High Crimes: Branderscar. It didn't matter, if Ereias was gone. All that matter was how they would pay for it. He'd show them divine vengance. It is what he chose to be.

@ Cry Havoc: Hey Finder, we missed ya! I have a quick question, Is it evil characters only, or would you consider a CN character? Gwyn also has a more detailed background and personality in her profile.

Thank you! I regret that the ugly Real Life monster took me away for awhile, but it is good to be back.

Knowing what I know about where the campaign will be headed, I'm afraid a CN character will really not be very appropriate for this game, sorry.

That's fine, hope I don't scare too many people. >:)

As much as i Would love to create a profile character, having Issues with the site. So doing this without an avatar yet...

The concept is a Human Rogue who is part burglar, part swashbuckler, and part deadly knife fighter. Straight rogue, focusing on short/light blades that are easy to conceal. He's a theif, braggart, liar, charmer with a mean streak that he keeps hidden. at leats until it's time to put some fear into his mark.

Player Questions:

1. Do you have previous pbp experience as player and/or DM? If so, on Paizo's boards, or elsewhere? Yes, here and mythweavers

2. Where do you live (specifically, in what time zone)? EST

3. How often can you expect to post (barring illness, vacation, etc.)?
1-2 times a day,
Character Questions:

1. Who are you? Talyon the Talon, human rogue. Burglar and Knifefighter extrordinare!

2. What do you look like? On the taller side, with medium blond hair kept back in a simple knot. Quite handsome, if I do say so myself.
Granted I'm not built like these muscle bound morons you see, and I've avoided scars. Some say the Talon not only grabs your jewels but your womans heart!

3. How would you describe your personality? Outwardly I'm flashy, showing you spinning knives or a winning smile. On the inside, cold and calculating, loooking for the perfect opening to strike. Laws are nothing more than the game board, the trick is all in how you work the pieces. I don't get caught up in all this Mitra worship, there were other gods once, perhaps they still watch over some of us, though not lately....

4. What crime have you committed to cause your incarceration in Branderscar Prison? Bribery, forgery, and fraud are all crimes Talon ahs committed, the one that landed him in prison was High Theft, caught trying to sneak out through the princesses room! Apparently these 'holier than thou' types don't take too kindly to me helping myself to their excess of jewels and "secret" documents, not to mention choosing the princesses room as a good hiding spot! Is wear she winked at me as I was being dragged out in manacles.

Well hopefully I'm not to late and this is an appropriate character

4. MURDER (well attempted)- (wrong place at the wrong time) Kyras was known for his mastery with a knife and being able to get close to his targets to kill for they would never see his knife or know where it would come from. One day he was told to meet with a rising crime lord in the more lawless area (for even the most peaceful nation turns its blind eye to keep the stability) and was given a purse full of gold to kill someone the terms where that no name was given just a place and a time and the first one you see kill. So he thinks to himself "whose life is worth this much" but doesn't care for he believes he can trust his skills for escape if need be. Turns out it was the head guard for that area and having failed and no one believing his story was sent to be executed.

Finnaly have the avatar up and a profile. Avoided all the crunch for now, focusing on concept. I know his weapons will not be optimal, mainly knives and daggers, maybe a short sowrd if something is just too big.

We're in the home stretch! I'll post the final candidate list this afternoon or evening, and then settle in to try and find the right mix of players. I'm sure I'll have my work cut out for me....

It has been an incredibly hectic week for me, but I'm for the first time in a week actually free. I'll have Solomon Knox's backstory and murder crime specifics up by midday if you'll still accept him a bit late.

Player Questions:
1. Do you have previous pbp experience as player and/or DM? If so, on Paizo's boards, or elsewhere?

I have thus far submitted my characters to three different campaigns, two Carrion Crowns and one Council of Thieves, but I have not been accepted to any of them, not for lack of trying.

That said, I am highly familiar with the ruleset and have been DMing my own home campaign with my friends for several weeks now. I've read a bunch of PbP's on this board and have done my best to acquaint myself with their eccentricities.

2. Where do you live (specifically, in what time zone)?

I live in Long Island, New York. My timezone is EST.

3. How often can you expect to post (barring illness, vacation, etc.)?

I am able to post multiple times per day on a day, but once a day is my minimum. I am going to school during the day, however, and thus I can only regularly post in the evenings. I am good for weekends, however.

Character Questions:
1. Who are you? (Name, race, class)

Name: Solomon Knox

I’ve lately created a character, name of Solomon Knox, a human inquisitor with the Trickery and Deception domain and subdomain. Originally I had it that to fit in a good campaign he would be true neutral, without a proclivity towards religion, but took it as his inquisition to defy the oppressive state of the Council of Thieves Campaign setting. His original conception was of a NE inquisitor of Norgorber, and that I think could fit in this campaign. If that relation to Norgorber does pose a problem, however, he could still remain without a deity, being somewhat of an anarchistic terrorist.

Solomon’s ideals stem from a disillusionment with government. It began with the murder of his parents, both of them “heathens” and “blasphemers” of the goddess Calistria. He can since have forgone religion, and had instead taken upon himself one very specific mantra: Defiance or he arbitrarily joined the church of Norgorber on a whim, and has acted as their agent. He has since acted as a saboteur, utilizing subterfuge and deception to fool the Talingarde authorities and defy them at every turn. The trauma of his childhood has warped his mind a tad, but it’s nothing to be concerned about. He’s no rapist or murderer. He’s simply, well, off. His speech mannerisms are strange, sounding almost alien at times, providing his own idiosyncratic thought processes into his speech. He has a tendency to trail off mid sentence or ignore somebody he’s talking to entirely. He has no issue with killing, not having the ability to pay attention for long enough to properly care. This sort of madness is not specifically sociopathy, but is best represented by a highly functional version of Schizotypal Personality Disorder.

Schizotypal Personality Disorder

2. What do you look like?

Solomon Knox has a visage that is near immediately forgettable, and that has helped him in more than a few sticky situations. Not specifically attractive or repulsive, he has brown hair, brown eyes, a sallow complexion and gaunt features. His skin is tanned and he usually wears gray robes under his armored vestments. He does his best to look appear with as little ostentatious grandeur as possible. His demeanor, however, is anything but normal.

3. How would you describe your personality?

Like with Schizotypal Personality Disorder Solomon has odd behavior and thinking, and often unconventional beliefs. He acts atypical in almost all situations and rarely does he go out of his way to do anything that isn't on a whim. His goals range from narrowly specific to broadly incomprehensible, but they are tied to a specific purpose. What that purpose is... I still have yet to design. *shrug. He is not afraid to murder, but will not do so randomly like a chaotic character. He's does not uphold any specific code, but will work towards his own ends no matter the consequences.

4. What crime have you committed to cause your incarceration in Branderscar Prison? (Note that your choice will convey a mechanical benefit, but I want the initial decision based on role-playing and background concerns, not the potential benefit. If you'd like more fluff about any of the following options, feel free to ask. Note also, the omission of crimes like rape, sexual assault, child abuse, and the like. The exclusion of acts of this nature is deliberate, and not open for negotiation.)

Solomon is being accused of murder. The specifics of such is highlighted in the short story below. Sorry if it's too long. I tend to let it all get out of hand when I do character creation. My brother tells me that writing that much makes it seem like I want this character to be the protagonist, but trust me when I say I have no inclination.

A Murder Most Foul:
The fight or flight response kicked in as she sat down next to him. Solomon’s eyes twitched and he blinked furiously to kick out the colors that radiated in his eyes. She was a woman alright, definitely, he was almost positive – comely enough, maybe. It’s sometimes difficult to tell. She was sitting next to him though, and that wasn’t good. People don’t sit next to people in this tavern.

The Wyvern’s Grasp was not the most sociable of places, far from it. Everyone, everyone and anyone here kept to themselves. It was just that part of town, the part that the seething romantically shameless would call a hive of scum and villainy. That was impossible. There were no bees here.

Solomon glanced her over, small and curvaceous, Aasimar quality, really. Her bright luminescent skin shown with glittering luminescence, sparking casual glances from even the most insular of the tavern’s patrons. She was radiant and beautiful in the most unimaginable of calibers.

“My lord you are the most hideous thing I have ever glanced upon in my life, probably. I have to check.”

She smiled at him and sat down in the corner booth opposite him, staring directly into the blank brown pools of his eyes, lifeless, ordinary, still blinking.

“I know you,” the woman said, melodious, a pristine echo that glanced around the room and sent shivers of longing down the spines of all the patrons. Nobody dared touch her though. She was something to somebody that everyone didn’t want to interfere with.

“Yes you don’t,” Solomon said, monotone as can be as was his custom.

“No? I could have sworn it was you. Jack Lifestone? We’ve met before in the gala of Convivial spring, remember?”

“Nope, couldn’t say I was him. Well, maybe I was, but I got transformed, but is that unlikely? I really couldn’t say. I guess, in all probability, I’m maybe not him.”
She smiled, and that was odd to Solomon, and he blinked in surprise. She made no movements to leave, hardly made a movement at all, sitting stationary, stock still, perfect poise in a small -hive of scum and villainy- tavern of the coast in the dregs of the Southern heartlands of Talingarde. Odd, very odd. Solomon liked this.

“Who are you,” he asked, leaning over across the table to look at her.
Give Solomon Knox just a cursory glance, and you won't see much. The face face that stared back at him was entirely unremarkable. His gaunt face gave his skin a taught look and his eyes angled downward towards his nose, giving his face the appearance that he was always puzzling something out. Tanned skin, brown hair and eyes, average looks, marred only by the slightest and lightest of burn marks and the side of his neck, had gotten Solomon far in a land that didn’t take too kindly to murderers and fiends in its new grand renaissance. Give him a good look though, stare into the blank limpid pools of brown murky water of his eyes however, and you'll something completely out of the ordinary.

She didn’t look taken aback in the slightest, and just sat there, brilliant gleaming eyes glaring straight through Solomon, like he was not even there, like looking at a shadow. “I am Sarivian Sarif. I apologize if I might have mistaken you for somebody else, but it indeed a pleasure to make your acquaintance. What is your name?”

Her voice was silken and smooth. “No it’s not,” Solomon replied.

“I beg your pardon?”

“It’s not a pleasure to make my acquaintance. You’re lying to me for reasons that I don’t know about which is strange because, usually, I’m the one who lies.” His voice was coldness mixed with a sulfuric acidity.

The sun shone in through the windows, grimy and filthy, haven’t been washed in ages. It was a harsh sun, twilight, gleaming with a ruby red opulence like looking through a pane of stained glass. It bathed both of them in a crimson halo that enveloped their conversation and made Solomon blink some more.

“You are a strange man, sir. I have told you my name, will you be so kind as to tell me yours?” Her smile stuck to her face like an epoxy, but it never looked fake, practiced civility radiating off the beauteous woman in waves.

“No I’m not. Between the two of us, I’m definitely the less queer.” He still glared at her.

“I…”

He cut her off. “My name is Solomon Knox.”

“A queer name for an even stranger man,” she continued. “Tell me, sir, why are you here?”

Fight or flight response again. He kept his composure. “Probably because my father f@!@ed my mother and then out pops me. Somehow, eventually, I end up here.”

“Ahh, so you have parents? I know of several men in this facility lacking even that basic nurturing presence. That sets you apart, does it not?”

"Ahhh, bloody nostalgia time. Just love the nostalgia." Solomon gritted his teeth and pressed his hand hard against the table between him and the woman where his hand rested. He plunged down towards the other side of the alleyway, acutely aware of where his target now was. The rays of opulent sunlight reached a twilight as they entered the apex of the looming houses above him. He bathed in the half-light of the reeking alleyway, smelling of ammonia, gutters and burnt corpses.

"There are no burnt corpses, 'least not here." He blinked his eyes furiously. He kept seeing it, inquisitors of Mitras, house fire, his mother coerced into out the window into the street amidst yells of "fire," "spies," or "heretics". He saw his father wrapped in flames, screaming his final adulations to the savored sting, his entire cadaver burrowed in a brilliant glorious pyre as it descended down right on top of him.

The real Solomon Knox touched the side of his neck where the faint burn mark lied. He felt his father's hair lap down the side of his neck. Solomon, then and now, repressed a scream, pummeling his way out from underneath his father's melting corpse. He felt whispers in the back of his skull, coercing, numbing his spine and splitting each of his hairs with one little saying, one tiny phrase repeated verbatim again and again and again. "Give in," "Give in," "Feed the fire," "Submit."

Solomon, now, choked out one word with harried breath, "Defy."

He blinked and then he was back.

“I beg your pardon,” she stared at him now, the permanent smile finally smitten.

He stared at Sarivian Sariff, eyes focusing, narrowing, penetrating. The hairs on the back of his arms and his neck bristled with electricity. “Who are you asking me to kill?”

She looked taken aback for the first time since their acquaintance.

“I’m not asking you to kill anybody, I’m asking you to put a stop to a murder.”
“By killing him. Oh, I like this! Since we can seemingly justify killing killers, right, we can extort extortionists? Pirate pirates? Rape rapists? Sedition… seditionists? That’s interesting; have to wonder how that works.

“The man is a blight on society. He has been charged with seventeen accounts of murder, arson, kidnapping, desecration of a holy site of Mitras.” The woman had a golden aura about her, phosphorescent and glorious and the aura seemed to bloom forth as she spoke with righteous indignation.

Solomon blinked to clear out the image.

“What’s society?”

The woman was staring daggers at him. He felt her gaze and eased back in his chair so the inflamed sunlight would catch in his eyes.

She ignored the question. “The authorities are prepared to turn a blind eye in exchange for your services, sir.” Her smile returned almost instantaneously, like a candle being lit under her chin. “The matter is of such a grave importance that an overseer from the capital has come to pay witness to the operation.”

Solomon’s eyes grew blank. “Who?”
“His name is of no concern.”

“I am concerned. Call me concerned, for concerned I am. Who and where is he?”
The woman sighed. “The man in the gray cloak, at the table to our right. He is Simon Bellfont, high ranking clergyman at the church of Mitras…” Her voice trailed off in Solomon’s ears as he sat staring at the man. A thick woolen, gray coat hung off his shoulders in waves and his face was stone, deep in concentration, staring at a man in the far corner of The Wyvern’s Grasp. His hands grasped menacingly and his eyes were red with bloodlust, reflecting the light eking out into the middle of the room.

Solomon interrupted her. “Why not arrest him. You seem like the arresting type, not to typify. Wait, maybe I should sterotype, You’re a churchgoer, are you not? The Shining Lord often hires contract killers, right? Wait, no it doesn’t. That’s odd. Don’t pay much attention to these things, lots of things on my plate, though I am hungry. Hmmm, lots of things to do – people to kill and other unsorted objectives.”

“He has too many contacts this man. His tendrils reach far into the corrupt corners of the court which our church has been trying to eliminate for far too long a time. He is virtually untouchable.” She sat straighter. “He killed Simon Bellfont’s wife in children in their own home, but that was only after raping them and crippling the clergyman. He must be stopped at all costs.”

Solomon stared back at clergyman in the woolen coat. Softly he whispered only to himself, “You had me at hello.”

Turning back to the woman, he spoke hurriedly, “Why does a society exist? One that can never even reign in the worst of the lot.”

He stood up then, suddenly, kicking his chair back against the wall. “I’ll kill him then,” he said aloud, audible to the entirety of the tavern.

Sarivian hissed, “Not now you fool! Why would you attack him here of all places.”
Solomon was hardly paying attention. His mind was entirely affixed, focused on the center of his fascinations.

"Wait, give me a second, I know this. Hmmmm, tip of the tongue. Could be... nope. Terribly sorry, I forget these things often. I am what I am and..." he broke off mid sentence.

He approached the man slowly, carefully measuring out each step. “What are we to do with an ineffectual society that actively careens around and brings about our own ruination.”

His feet echoed loudly in the silent room as he walked, stalked more like, to his target, a giant bull’s-eye painted in the center of the mass of light streaming from the windows.
“Sedition? Nah, sedition is a route problem, problem, problems and more problems stacked up as high as they can go. All we can do is bask in it? Nope, I say every man for himself. It’s this nation and everything in it. We tear the world down brick by brick, piece by piece, moving inch by inch toward our own annihilation. La-ti-da-ti-da.”

He stopped in front of his target, the man in the woolen cloak, the clergyman of that great Shining Lord. He was staring at him, eyes wide and hands grasping for the hem of his cloak where he kept his daggers. There was a repeated bleating the background, tuned out by the glare of light that invaded all of Solomon’s senses.

He spoke directly to the man. “You know what it all represents?”

The clergyman struck out at him, a blow aimed straight for his heart, but Solomon blinked, and was suddenly behind him, a punching dagger brandished in his hand.

“It represents defiance!” He screamed, holding the man by the throat from behind and bringing the punching dagger up into his spine, again, and again, and again, and again. He blinked wildly, madly, blood streaming from the man’s shattered spine and splashing up and down Solomon’s vestments. His screaming was drowned out only by a loud high pitch he heard vibrating in his ears. He stabbed at the man, forever, rolling off into infinity until finally the world stopped moving and Solomon was standing there, a dead man in his arms and every single patron staring at him.

Sarivian was staring at him, eyes wide with anger and tears streaming down her face. “What have you done,” she screamed, “you’ve killed the wrong man!”

“What? Oh yes, that. You can’t blame me much, though; I told you I defy” he said. He reached onto his back, almost absentmindedly, and pulled out his crossbow. He aimed with one hand, the other still holding the limp body of the clergyman, and shot the murderer square in the neck. Blood spurted out of the wound as the other man collapsed to the floor in a heap.

He led them on a merry chase, but they caught up to him eventually. They brought him to Branderscar, telling him he would soon be beheaded for his most foul of murders. Solomon could do nothing but shrug.

I am withdrawing from the game. I can't seem to get behind this character. Thanks for the opportunity.

So, I'm really interested it this game but I've had a devil of time coming up with a concept. I though about serial killers as an inspiration but so many of them have a deeply disturbing sexual component that I don't ever want to RP.

I'm going back to an older concept, one of a masochist. I tried him in another campaign and he didn't get picked. Probably because the idea is a little brutal but without going evil it can't be quite brutal enough in execution. But here I can get nasty. So let the info on the profile be an idea of what we have here but not gospel. I'll be gutting him down to the roots for this campaign.

1. Do you have previous pbp experience as player and/or DM? If so, on Paizo's boards, or elsewhere?

I'm in a few games here on Paizo. Feel free to click around and check out my other PC's.

2. Where do you live (specifically, in what time zone)?

Maryland so EST

3. How often can you expect to post (barring illness, vacation, etc.)?

Generally, as long as there is something for me to do, I post more than once a day, often even weekends. I have as active a social life as I can manage with an 11-month old daughter so not every weekend but definitely some.

Character Questions:

1. Who are you? (Name, race, class)

Terran Khaine, human Cleric. Might switch that race, but I'm ok with it.

2. What do you look like?

His armor consists of spiked chains wrapped around his arms and shoulders with metal plates strategically affixed. On the left, a larger plate is affixed to the forearm chains (counts as buckler). The chain on the right is somewhat longer and is used as a weapon (counts as a morningstar). This arrangement leaves Khaine's muscled chest bare, revealing the Litany of Pain scarred into his chest and abdomen.

The Litany of Pain
Pain is a lesson that the universe teaches us.
Pain is the preserver from injury.
Pain perpetuates our lives.
Pain is the healing, purifying scalpel of our souls.
Pain is the wine of communion with heroes.
Pain is the alembic which transmutes mere mortal into immortal.

3. How would you describe your personality?

Aggressive, impulsive, and sadomasochistic.

4. What crime have you committed to cause your incarceration in Branderscar Prison?

Worship of Zon Kuthon is probably heretical, so heresy to start. The fact that he tortured people to death didn't help. The fact that he chewed off a long strip of flesh to strangle a guard while he was being held for trial was kind of nail in coffin.

I am withdrawing from the game. I can't seem to get behind this character. Thanks for the opportunity.

RPG Superstar 2015 Top 8

The powers that be really threw the book at Broosilith, but her crime would have been fraud, foremost. As the crime unraveled, she was found to have committed heresy, to have consorted with dark powers, and to have committed blasphemy.

Good Luck everyone

Agreed!

"To be perfectly honest and frank, I don't wish you all luck."

"I wish you dire misfortune."

"For every head that rolls my chances of to survive the culling increase. It's nothing personal, but I wish myself luck and hope many of you fall prematurely once the list begins to cull itself and strike us off into a void of non-existence."

"Being reincarnated for a fourth recruitment of this game would drive me quite mad."

good luck ,
