GM W.R. Monger

Fastest way to the prison should be going by the backdoor as he seems torn between going to help his men at the front or rush into the keep to kill the usurper.

Frempt and Buriel are carrying masterwork breastplates, ornamented and with cloaks. For weapons the carry a dagger each in a masterwork longsword

"Then it's decided. We go to the keep." Lindynt dismounts hurriedly and tucks his lance into a designated sleeve on Sylvie's saddlebags. Looking the chocobo in it's busily dilating avian eyes, "Sylvie, stay here and don't let anybody in or out until I get back. Understand? Good girl."

Handle Animal (passive) 22 vs DC 10, Guard Trick

As he approaches the door he draws his sword from it's sheath and prepares himself for the worst on the other side.

M Romandan Human Templar 3

Alaire, while his features show he doesn't entirely agree with the chosen course of action, does nod and moves up front with Lindynt to take point beside him. Hefting his sword and shield to the ready he quickly remarks, "If this is our course, let us tarry no longer. Men are fighting and dying which our blades can prevent."

Human Blue Mage 4

Akela sets the wounded kobolds down in the safest corner he can find. No way to carry and fight, so it will have to suffice. Hide here, I will return.
Moving to the door, he tightens his grip on his club.

Human (Romanda)

The let us be on the... As the doors to the keep open and a man in a red uniform makes himself present while a group of soldiers and kobolds with red pain make themselves way into the courtyard...

Red Officer I am afraid you can go no further, the lords orders are for your surrender as he points to Rammsteiner Surrender and I will spare them, tho I cannot say the safe for you as you can almost see the grin in his face, concealed behind his helmet.

Surrender, I will make you eat those words!

Perception check (Listen) DC 20 for Alaire, rest take DC 25.

Spoiler:
Sounds like Jager's voice, but it can't be... can it?

Perception:1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14

Nichelle could see that they had definitely wandered into a political situation, and her initial expression of distaste was marred by the confusion that was on her face. She had not thought to see any men barred from a conflict that their joining would save lives, but such was the way of some nobility she assumed. Blinking widely, she looked back and forth between Rammsteiner and the man, then to Alaire and the rest of his travelling companions.

HP 23/23, AC 12, CMD 13, Fort +2, Ref +3, Will +4, Init +3, Per -1 Current Spells:

What the hell is going on here?

Vance can't make that roll.

M Romandan Human Templar 3

Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10

Alaire is evidently too distracted as he takes in the scene before him, appraising the enemy forces and watching for snipers on the walls to hear anything of note.

As the man finishes, Alaire levels his gaze on the officer and brings his sword slicing through the air to point the knight's blade at him across the battlefield, "How kind and noble of thee to offer such an option. We shalt offer thou the same, though we will not to the monsters ye call companions. Drop thy blade and repent! ...lest Adest be judging thy soul by the end of the day."

Human Blue Mage 4

Perception 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22

And what lord does a dead man serve, Jager?

Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19

Lindynt presses the blade of the bastard sword into the frozen ground and overlaps his hands around the pommel, "We have risked far too much in coming here to simply hand over our ward to the likes of your nameless lord without so much as the courtesy of an explanation. May I suggest counter proposition for you to consider? Go inside and tell this lord of yours that the proper sovereign has returned to his keep and will be greeting you shortly after dispatching the hounds you've set out. Hurry now, this won't take long."

Intimidate: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21

GM W.R. Monger

Akela your difficulty is DC 25 ^^ mate to know, since you are not familiar enough with Jager's voice, but the voice will sound familiar as if you heard it before you just can't pin were or who.

Fine you may all follow me inside to meet the current lord of the red keep as he lowers his guisarme look-a-like weapon, as the soldiers and kobolds surround you with a hostile intent of escorting you properly Well escort them to the our lord the Crimson Blade, he await for them inside, meet you inside...

Battle map coming soon

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7

"That wasn't hard. We have interposed once before, let us see if there are any more affairs we can meddle with." Lindynt smiles as he allows the sneering kobolds to escort him into the keep. "Lets not forget your friends over there," he says pointing out the two wounded kobolds fitted with their own unique crest.

Wow, should have gone with the passive... O well, Lindynt assumes its time for tea and biscuits

HP 23/23, AC 12, CMD 13, Fort +2, Ref +3, Will +4, Init +3, Per -1 Current Spells:

Not even going to bother rolling sense motive. Vance doesn't like this at all, even if he thinks diplomacy worked.

"This is a bad idea." Vance said looking around. "We don't know what we're walking into. Why can't this lord of the keep come to us?"

Human Blue Mage 4

Sense Motive 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19 Hooray I have a social skill!

In a flash of insight Akela speaks, not to The man in Red, but to the wounded kobold chief.
Is this the danger you spoke of?

Dark Archive

GM W.R. Monger

Akela you know the soldiers and kobolds do intend to escort you, they are just going to take their time on doing so and the way they take you in also seems to be a very painful one

"Vance, you forget yourself. The lord of the keep is walking beside you." Lindynt gestures to Reinholdt as he walks in the pace the kobolds have set for him. "We've found ourselves in yet another curious position my friend. Personally, I am rightfully interested in hearing what the Crimson Blade has to say about the situation here. I suggest you keep with the formalities your parents had taught you. After all, we are guests of the Red Keep... Regardless of the rightful patron." The last part he mutters to himself just audible enough for the rest to hear.

HP 23/23, AC 12, CMD 13, Fort +2, Ref +3, Will +4, Init +3, Per -1 Current Spells:

"Funny that the lord of the keep is beside me, and yet there's someone else in his chair. I don't think I'm the one you need to be lecturing about breaches of protocol. How about this Crimson Blade gets off his lordly ass and comes down here? If we go anywhere with these jokers, we aren't coming back. Look a these guys. You think they really want to talk?"

M Romandan Human Templar 3

"My own thoughts align with the Black Mage's. These men are not the honorable sort, just look at the company they are keeping. Nothing but traitorous wretches."

Human Blue Mage 4

If they are in the courtyard, is there vegetation, or just stone/dirt?

Dark Archive

GM W.R. Monger

There is mostly stone and dirt with some grass and flowers around will have the map ready ^^ so you can know were you are and they are, it has been 2 very complicated days fro me.

Nichelle held her tongue and even adjusted her mannerisms to seem less important, less noteworthy, more of a worried servant than a retainer with a mission. Bluff:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17. Trailing after Alaire, she looked around, still gathering the pieces of what was going on. Things did not look good, but there was really no other choice at the moment, if they wanted to get in and find out more about what was happening. The pins were in her hair again, and only the knowledgeable would know them for what they were, as well as the trio of daggers concealed on her person, but she played her part.

Promise to have an update today, its been hard all this damnable week, wife in the hospital and got laid-off so I'm a bit busy but will try to keep it up

Dark Archive

GM W.R. Monger

Check the map it has been updated :) so ready your actions and post initiative with your characters also just so I don't forget turns.

Lindynt's sword is already drawn so I suppose if I were to ready an action it would be to protect Reinholdt against anyone who threatens him. Putting that into game terms: If an enemy comes within 10ft of Reinholdt in an obviously threatening manner, Lindynt will move between that enemy and Reinholdt and attack. Still banking on a diplomatic win.

Readied Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
Damage: 1d10 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18

Crit Confirm Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
Crit Damage: 1d10 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12

M Romandan Human Templar 3

Passive Initiative: 13

Alaire will take a five foot step up to Reinholdt's side (did it on the map already) and hold ready. He is never the one to start a fight, but should one break out or the enemy take hostile actions toward them he'll attack. Count this as the same condition as Lindynt.

Readied Attack:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
Damage:1d10 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

Human Blue Mage 4

Passive Initiative: 16
If any of the enemy move to take hostile action, move to attack.
Readied attack 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
damage 2d6 + 5 ⇒ (4, 4) + 5 = 13

O wow, I suck. Here's my initiative:

Initiative: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14

[ooc]Well as expected the kobolds and guards keep walking closer to you with big grins in their faces, even when their weapons are still in their scabbards their intentions are obvious...

Guard 1Oi! M'lord! as he flicks a finger to Reinholdt My salute to you... your eminence and wait for my compliments as the group laughs and they begin raising their fists as they will attempt to escort you in in a very non peaceful and non-deadly form but nonetheless painful.

HP 23/23, AC 12, CMD 13, Fort +2, Ref +3, Will +4, Init +3, Per -1 Current Spells:

Vance slowly levels his pistol towards the guard captain, the runes on the barrel flaring to life, and angry glow building inside the chamber. "What part of "we aren't going with you" don't you understand? Tell your animals to back the hell off or I'll do to them what I did to the ones outside. Tell your boss we're here to talk. Go on. We'll wait."

Intimidate 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22

Shrinking at the implied threat, Nichelle looked around fearfully and stepped closer to Alaire for security, appearing quite miserable at being surrounded by hostile men and beasts. Sure, she might be wearing leather armor, but someone like her probably wore it because her lord did, and she was not carrying a single weapon.

GM W.R. Monger

As Vance speaks and makes a dent on their morale for a moments as they turn around to see their leader just walk away into the keep closing the doors behind him, you see the fear in the soldiers face... but not at Vance even tho he made them flinch. The kobolds seem as joyful as ever to spill some blood and break a rib or two.

HP 23/23, AC 12, CMD 13, Fort +2, Ref +3, Will +4, Init +3, Per -1 Current Spells:

"Oh to hell with this." Vance muttered. Palming a bullet with his left hand he picked a kobold in the distance and tossed it in an underhanded lob. "Catch"

A whispered word later and massive spheres fell from the sky, following the bullet's trajectory.

I've marked the outside area of the spell on the map with "sc". Basically, everything left of column O is effected. In addition, everything in that area is Difficult Terrain until my next action.

Dark Archive

GM W.R. Monger

The fall of the spheres wreck havoc as it was unexpected and caught the soldiers by surprise, making them draw their weapons and lounge themselves against you in an effort to overwhelm you by sheer numbers.

AoO for all those able to make them

I'm guessing that my readied attack can be used in place of my AoO but the following is for Sylvie seeing as she's combat trained and whatnot.

Sylvie's Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

Human Blue Mage 4

Assuming the readied ation is moot
attack 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
damage 2d6 + 5 ⇒ (2, 6) + 5 = 13

Dark Archive

GM W.R. Monger

Yes you may use your ready actions as AoO for those with pretty rolls lol

M Romandan Human Templar 3

Using the above roll for the attack of opportunity then (Attack Roll: 22 Damage: 8), Alaire would target a kobold over a human if he has a choice between them.

Dark Archive

GM W.R. Monger

If you can hit it then you smack the kobold

M Romandan Human Templar 3

Looks like there are two kobolds that move within range so yes, he will gut one brutally with his sword. Hopefully killing it so we aren't quite so surrounded.

Seems Nichelle is not around so let us begin this summary

Round 1

Vance displays his magical capabilities with an impressive and surprising attack hitting the enemies and making it difficult for them to at least charge headlong against you.

Nichelle strikes at a guard but it only hits the armor.

Akela impacts on the guard leaving him wounded but still standing.

Alaire Slashes down on a kobold but not enough to make him fall.

Lindynt attack break the defense of the soldier piercing his body making the soldier fall with a groan holding his wound.

Reinholdt sword is blazing like his master mood and strikes down one of the guards with searing pain as the smell of burn flesh fill the air.

Sylvie hits a kobold with her beak making it stumble for a moment but not enough to make him stop his attack.

Guards and kobolds attempt to defend themselves not knowing their prey was more than they bargain for.

Two kobolds engage against sylvie hitting her for a total of 12 damage.

The guard fighting the traitor kobold (your ally) hits him for 8 damage.

The soldier attempt to feint Vance to leave him open for a strike
Vance Sense Motive DC 17 or be flat-footed next round for him

Nichelle takes a cut to the leg for 4 damage from the kobold spear and the kobold with the axe smashes her arm for 8 damage.

Reinholdt is ignored by his enemies as it seems they do not seek to harm him but subdue him.

Alaire is hit back by the soldier for 8 damage as he is missed by the other soldier and the kobold makes a failed trip attack.

The kobold stabs Lindynt with his spear in the torso leaving a cut on his side fr 7 damage.

Let us begin round 2 soldiers initiative is only 11 so you guys act first all the time.
