Human Blue Mage 4

Aklela lifts a hand to set the spilled oil afire with a gesture as the enemys cross it.
Ready to cast spark when they are in the oil

HP 23/23, AC 12, CMD 13, Fort +2, Ref +3, Will +4, Init +3, Per -1 Current Spells:

Vance nods to Alaire and fires at the wraith.

touch attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19

1d10 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9

Cheliax

GM W.R. Monger

The creature steps into the oil and Akela ignites the oil provoking a instant gush of flames that engulf the wraith that angers him to no end since he cannot feel pain anymore but the damage is done.

Vance attack hits the wraith as well as Lindynt's flaming weapon adding a bit more to the insult as he drops and burns to a crisp.

Well that was rather simple, but hope we are this lucky if there are more of them in the keep as Reinholdt lowers his weapon but does not put it away.

HP 23/23, AC 12, CMD 13, Fort +2, Ref +3, Will +4, Init +3, Per -1 Current Spells:

How long's this blessing going to last? Vance asks, as he reloads his now faintly glowing gun.

Cheliax

GM W.R. Monger

Long enough my friend... The presence of this foul creature defy Gods will I must make sure to get them all! says Alaire with grim determination to purge the undead were ever he might find them.

HP 23/23, AC 12, CMD 13, Fort +2, Ref +3, Will +4, Init +3, Per -1 Current Spells:

"Good. Lets move."

Cheliax

GM W.R. Monger

The fires dies out after a few moments living a charred corpse letting you all pass with nothing more but the smell of something got burned. Strangely enough there is not much of a sound.

My men shall go check the tower dungeon, we should go through the other door As Reinhold points to the door behind Lindynt.

"Lead on, my Lord. What is it that lies beyond that door? It would be helpful to know of any dark corners where these... things... may be lurking."

Someone should prolly grab crispy's weapon

Cheliax

GM W.R. Monger

Crispy's weapon is a regular long sword it was the undead that powered it ^^

Reiholdt begins to walk slowly but steadily towards the door that reveals a small corridor that leads to a small room "After this small room there will be a large room were our enemy must be waiting" as he begins to check his equipment "Best check for anything you might need right now before we step in to face him"

Alaire begins to chant slowly in front of everyone asking for the guidance of Adest Effectively casting the Guidance cantrip on everyone Adest give us strength to defeat this unearthly foe

Reinholdt immediately says his part Faia light burn away impurity

F Human Rogue

Nichelle was satisfied that the fight had ended with none getting hurt, and looked towards the door where there were possibly children trapped behind the door. While she wanted to help immediately, she clenched her jaw as she realized that it would likely be better for her to continue with the group, and make certain that there was no chance for them to get injured.

Quietly, her hands slid over her person, loosening the daggers that were hidden, and calming herself so that she would not make any nervous mistakes in the battle.

Well I'm glad he's dead. Getting my hopes up just to pull them out from under me, it's uncalled for.

Lindynt searches the area for any noteworthy or usable materials (quality weapons, shields, potions, alchemical items, etc...) to ensure the group isn't missing anything potentially useful for the upcoming encounter. When all is said and done, and everyone looks like they're ready to move on, the knight steps over the charred remnants of the wraith and moves decidedly into the next room to greet their mysterious enemy.

Taking 20 on Perception; Total 22 (I'll happily lend this as an Aid Another to someone with a decent Perception mod)

Cheliax

GM W.R. Monger

Once you move into the small room and out of the corridor.

The small room before you is in fact an armory of sorts with weapon racks to the left and shields to the right, most of them are gone as the defenders must have taken them, but the few left are just standard quality common weapons like swords and axes, wooden shields and some metal ones of different sizes.

Perception DC 13

Spoiler:
Noo!! This was not what I bargain for! I wanted power! as a wimpering desperate mans voice says this word a similar familiar voice you have heard before but not quite the same You shall have it!

Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18

Ignoring the equipment, Lindynt leads the group into the room where he hears a pleading man arguing with an overpowering force.

"It seems we are seeing the same lust for power again and again," he says to himself in a disenchanted sigh. With his glaive still flaming he enters the room.

I just looked over my sheet and realized I never chose an "adaptive skill." Putting it into perception, where it belongs.

Cheliax

GM W.R. Monger

Very important skill ^^

Human Blue Mage 4

Looks around for more oil
Perception1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24

Cheliax

GM W.R. Monger

There is no mo oil in the room you are in as there are only weapons and shields

Reiholdt looks at his flaming blade I tire of this, let's move to face our foes once and for all as he moves with aggression towards the door and kicks it open.

The door slams open but it is rather sturdy so there is no damage to it, and Reinholdt steps into what seems to be a big room of sorts.

Now... Yield to me... You will have power... Unlimited power... a disembodied voice is saying this.

while a man's voice answers as you hear noises and Reiholdt face turn pale. I already have enough power and I will not lose to a child

Cheliax

GM W.R. Monger

Here it is the map

Red Keep War Room

Position yourselves this is one tough fight ^^

I'll take the square at F30. My reach should helpful for AoO's if the guys at the bottom of the map try to flank us. Although I'm pretty sure this is at least a CR ~10 encounter so we should probably think of a way to avoid fighting...

Cheliax

GM W.R. Monger

It's not a CR 10 encounter, just looks like it, most mob will go down in 1 smack or 2 I used the minion rules for them, the rest boss is another story.

Human Blue Mage 4

f28. hopefully we can lay down a quick beating before the boss joins in

HP 23/23, AC 12, CMD 13, Fort +2, Ref +3, Will +4, Init +3, Per -1 Current Spells:

C29 here.

F Human Rogue

D30
Stealth: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11

Nichelle descended the stairs and looked around with no small sense of apprehension. There were several things in here, she could hear them, even if she could only see a few, and between them all, she was uncertain of how to progress. She remained close to Alaire, looking to him for leadership, since being directly in one of these situations was not something that she prepared for. She was used to having room to run, hide, and strike again.

Even still, she could at least manage to take one or two out before it became a drawn-out battle, hopefully. As quietly as she could, she shook one of her three daggers into her hand...

Provided the alarm has not been sounded, and battle has been joined, Nichelle will take the initiative and throw the dagger at E34, to see if he can't be taken out quickly (if not quietly)
Attack (Range Increment): 1d20 + 4 - 2 ⇒ (16) + 4 - 2 = 18; 1d4 + 1d6 ⇒ (1) + (1) = 2

Cheliax

GM W.R. Monger

Not quickly enough with that damage

Perception DC 10
[spoiler]You can listen to the slow footsteps coming to your direction from all over the place, even some of these creatures seem to still have the uniforms of the castle guard except for 2 of them.[/ooc]

Stop fighting me feeble mortal and yield, I will erode your pathetic attempts to resist me a loud voice coming from the man on his knees that seems to be slowly turning into a creature you have seen before.

Nooo!! I'm the one to become king I asked for power but never to bend the knee and I will not do it to you! as he graves his head trying to tear it off as horns begin to protrude from it, slowly but surely the slow transformation has began as the evil creature laughs for a moment

Nichelle hits the undead creature unaware of them as they were in a trance watching their lord coming to this world, making it look at his wound and now his eyes are bright with hatred or is it pain?

Once you all step in the room and Nichelle attacks the undead creature they turn to face you.

The voice now in a worried tone You damned filth pathetic excuse of a creature yield, I made you powerful, lord of your own castle. I have come to collect and you will pay me now or you will accompany me back to the abyss were I will torture you for eternity!! as the man cries out in pain and the voice screams so loudly you he was probably heard in the capital KILL THEM!!

Cheliax

GM W.R. Monger

Lord of Spirits Adest, grant us your protection, blind our enemies and cripple them so we might do your will and send them unto thee in eternal rest as he mutters some more words

Alaire touches signals you all to touch him, as you are all filled with soothing energy that has no apparent effect for you.

Hide from Undead has been casted, the following Wraith made the Will save: 1,4,9,10 for the rest of the undead you count as being invisible since they know you are there they just can't see you. Attacking the wraiths that succeed in their rolls will not take away your invisible status from the other wraiths.

Faia master of flames and warmth bless us with the strength that fuels the eternal flames, so that we be cleansed of fear from the darkness

Reinholdt has casted Bless on the party

Red Keep War Room

Human Blue Mage 4

Are the torches in brakets on the walls or in free standing holders?

Cheliax

GM W.R. Monger

They are torches that are placed on holders that keep them on the wall

Passive Perception: 15

"My God! These are whats left of your guardsmen, Rienholdt. What kind of monster could do this?" Lindynt asks no one in particular but before an answer can be given, Nichelle hurls a dagger at one of the boney abominations and the preparation for battle begins.

Move: E32; Attack: enemy in E34

Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
Damage: 1d10 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16 (weapon) + 1d6 ⇒ 6 (fire)

Cheliax

GM W.R. Monger

I will ask him directly as he looks towards what is transforming with severe pain into something from out of this world (literally).

I will not yield, this is my body it was not part of the bargain as the man moans in pain trying to resist what's happening to him, but you can only hear a very familiar laughter that comes from the same person.

Cheliax

GM W.R. Monger

I need every ones initiative so I can place the order that way you know if you are before or after the NPC and can plan better. I will place this list in every round summary also just in case.

Wraith Initiative 11; Unknown enemy Initiative 16

Human Blue Mage 4

Initiative 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20

HP 23/23, AC 12, CMD 13, Fort +2, Ref +3, Will +4, Init +3, Per -1 Current Spells:

1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

Cheliax

GM W.R. Monger

Passive initiative would have been fine ^^ but will take results if you want me too

This guys are not hard to kill I'm using the minion template, lindynt downed one already so wackem so you look very heroic ^^ as there is going to be a horde of them

And you guys have the surprise round on them also

HP 23/23, AC 12, CMD 13, Fort +2, Ref +3, Will +4, Init +3, Per -1 Current Spells:

Darn! Forgot about that. I'll take my licks. Won't matter after round 1 anyway. After that it's all a circle.

Initiative: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9

Round 0, Initiative 9:

HP: 33/33
AC: 16
CMD: 19
Saves: 5/2/2(+2 vs fear); (+1 vs Spells/SLA's)
Speed: 30ft
Status:
Abilities: Challenge [-/day]; Mounted Combat [Ride: +8]
Equipped: Flaming Glaive-Guisarme (brace, reach)
Conditions:

Attack/Damage: base +8/+7, Brave +1/+1, Power Attack -1/+3; Total: +8/+11 + 1d6(fire)

I'll go ahead and cleanup the bottom room and try to secure the staircase if the rest of you want to see to our dinner guests. Although any support is always appreciated. My attack and damage are in my Combat Spoiler block for the purpose of AoO's. It's probably easier for Dieros to roll them.

F Human Rogue

Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

Round 0, Initiative 5:

AC: 15=(10 + 2 + 3 + 0)
HP: 17 (1d8+2+2{f})
Saves • Fort +2, Ref +6, Will +2
CMD: 14

Since she attacked, Nichelle headed with Lindynt, intent on giving him a hand, since she wanted to retrieve her dagger as well. She said nothing, trusting that the others would be able to handle themselves.

Cheliax

GM W.R. Monger

Surprise Round

Initiative Order

Spoiler:

Akela
Unknown
Reinholdt
Alaire
Wraith
Lindynt
Vance
Nichelle

Lindynt from were you are you can see stairs that lead up at the bac to your right and windows in front of you and to your right, unfortunetly the staircase comes with a couple of more creatures coming down the stairs.

"Nichelle, you and I will press on to secure the staircase while the others engage the wraiths nearby. We cannot afford to let ourselves be overtaken if there is another wave waiting to flank us when we go out in the open," Lindynt tells his companion as he pulls his flaming glaive back and kicks skewered enemy from it's pole in a fluid and well practiced motion. "Stay close behind and slay any that pass by me."

Human Blue Mage 4

Attacking the nearest wraith (charge)
attack 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12
damage 2d6 + 5 ⇒ (4, 1) + 5 = 10

Cheliax

GM W.R. Monger

I will secure the staircase in front of us as Alaire rushes forward to the other stair case.

Remember you have a round to do something as a surprise round so waiting on every ones actions

I will have a personal chat with that thing! as Reinholdt moves forward towards to help clear some of the wraiths, moving in to attack with all his wrath.

Red Keep War Room

Surprise!:

HP: 33/33
AC: 16
CMD: 19
Saves: 5/2/2(+2 vs fear); (+1 vs Spells/SLA's)
Speed: 30ft
Status:
Abilities: Challenge [-/day]; Mounted Combat [Ride: +8]
Equipped: Flaming Glaive-Guisarme (brace, reach)
Conditions:
Attack/Damage: base +8/+7, Brave +1/+1, Charge +2/-, Power Attack -1/+3; Total: +10/+11 + 1d6(fire)

"GUAHHH!!!" the knight cries as he rushes towards the closest wraith by the south staircase with his glaive lowered.

Full-Round: Charge into square D37 and attack B39

Attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16
Damage: 1d10 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12 (weapon) + 1d6 ⇒ 3 (fire)

From D37 there is no way for A39 to move against me without provoking an AoO. Take that evil!

Cheliax

GM W.R. Monger

Lindynt moves towards the enemies in the south and gets rid of a couple of them, Akela charges forwards but his attack wasn't good enough, while Reinholdt just burns the undead to a crisp, Vance aims and shoots one at eh end of the hall cracking the empty skull open for all to see and helping Alaire in his fight.

Round 1
Initiative order actions

Akela
Unknown
Reinholdt
Alaire
Wraith
Lindynt
Vance
Nichelle

Akela is first

Cheliax

GM W.R. Monger

Will DMNPC Akela for the moment to get this moving along

Akela attacks the wraith with all his might finally destroying him.

The unknown monster is so busy that all it does is shiver in pain.

Reinholdt moves towards his next target, receiving a welcoming hit in his arm.

Alaire exchanged blows with the creature but making no lasting damage on it and the creatures misses him.

Another one moves towards Vance and Nichelle AoO for both of you

One of the Wraiths attacks Lindynt but he is butchered before he even reaches him, but makes enough time for the other one to close in.

The rest of the wraith advance on everyone they can reach overwhelming Alaire that is only capable of getting himself rid of one of his assailants.

Red Keep War Room

HP 23/23, AC 12, CMD 13, Fort +2, Ref +3, Will +4, Init +3, Per -1 Current Spells:

Vance isn't armed with a melee weapon. Can I try to pistol-whip the wraith?

Note to self, get a one-handed Melee weapon. Preferably with reach...

Round 1, Initiative 9:

HP: 33/33
AC: 16
CMD: 19
Saves: 5/2/2(+2 vs fear); (+1 vs Spells/SLA's)
Speed: 30ft
Status:
Abilities: Challenge [-/day]; Mounted Combat [Ride: +8]
Equipped: Flaming Glaive-Guisarme (brace, reach)
Conditions:
Attack/Damage: base +8/+7, Brave +1/+1, Power Attack -1/+3; Total: +8/+11 + 1d6(fire)

In a flurry of fire and blood, the knight continues hacking down wraiths with his glaive in a brave attempt to secure the south staircase alone. He sidesteps the lone wraith who made it past his barrier and sets to right the wrong of his failed defense.

Misc: 5' step into C36. Standard: Attack D38

Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
Damage: 1d10 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12 (weapon) + 1d6 ⇒ 1 (fire)

Reach is pretty great, unless you roll a 4 and two 1's...

F Human Rogue

Round 1, Initiative 5

These things were closer than she liked, almost being able to reach out and touch them-- not that she wanted. A shake of her hand drew one of her other daggers as she slid opposite Vance and the thing closest to them, attacking to disable it.
Attack:1d20 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 1 + 2 = 14, Damage:1d4 + 1d6 ⇒ (3) + (5) = 8

Cheliax

GM W.R. Monger

You can use your gun as a armed attack (bludgeon) that does 1d3 dmg

Lindynt missed his attacks putting a bit of worry into his situation, as he can hear more steps that seem to be coming down from the stairs.

Nichelle you hear as your dagger hits something solid that is not armor but solid nonetheless only getting a murderous glare in return.

At least I'm strategically placed!
...long pause...
*cries*

Cheliax

GM W.R. Monger

Yes of course you are... I would advice to focus on the unknown creature ^^ this guys are an endless horde of bodies that have fallen around the castle...

HP 23/23, AC 12, CMD 13, Fort +2, Ref +3, Will +4, Init +3, Per -1 Current Spells:

AoO: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8

Vance lashed out with his pistol as the creature passed, but only caught air.

"Ignore these things! They're a symptom, not the disease!"

Channeling arcane energies into his weapon, the runes on the barrel flared to life. Bolting past the creature near him trying to evade it's claws, Vance slid to a halt at the end of the massive table, leveling his pistol across it for stability and fired at the monster in the distance. Instead of it's usual loud crack, the weapon instead whined briefly as the hammer came down, building quickly to a high-pitched whine that streaked forward and hit the monster, erupting into a sound like a cloudburst that left the entire room's ears ringing.

Move to G25, burning Create Pit for Mage Bullets (+1 Thundering for 2 minutes). Kneeling for +1 ac vs. ranged weapons and Cover
attack on unknown monster: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
piercing damage: 1d10 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
sonic damage: 1d6 ⇒ 6

acro to avoid AoO: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21

Cheliax

GM W.R. Monger

Wow! nice dice rolls

You do notice the bullet didn't do that much damage but you magical effect did what it was supposed too your tumble is high enough to avoid the attack ><

As the body screams in pain putting his hand were you just got him with your bullet and the voice rumbles again "Quickly you fool! or this is the end for both of us, yield to me now!" as the unknown being goes to it's knees holding his head like he is trying to tear it off as he keep slowly transforming into a demonic shape you have already seen before.

Ding Ding! round 2! Fight! Akela will wait for your post or will DMNPC you while you deal with IRL stuff that is more important and I understand that can be very time consuming.
