Taking this to discussion because I don't want to derail the game thread too much.
Yes, you can trip with an AoO. here's a thread discussing it.
You can Trip and Disarm with an AoO because they are attack actions. The rest are Standard actions so they can't be used as an AoO. (Sunder is up in the air. There's been no official developer response yet, and there's pretty good arguments on both sides of the debate so it's up to each GM to make the call)
If I Trip him he gets an AoO against me for trying it, assuming he has a Reach weapon drawn.
If he falls, he loses his Move action but still has his Standard. He could either use it to stand up (and then he could even 5' adjust away since he would not have actually moved yet), or he could use his Dimension Door from the ground (provoking another AoO)
That's the rules breakdown as I see it, given the information I have. Have I overlooked anything, or are there house rules you use that might change things?

My apologies for being quiet of late. It's been a hectic few weeks.
Anyways, the only addition I have to the Trip discussion is to clarify that it is not possible to "trip-lock" via AoOs. (That is: they are prone, try to get up, provoke, and get tripped again via that provoked AoO). This is because the AoO happens just prior to the action that provoked it, meaning the prone character is still prone when the AoO for trying to get up takes place, thus he cannot be knocked prone from prone / cannot be trip-locked.
One can, however, use a Readied Action to knock someone down again as they get up (much like readying to interrupt spellcasting), or even re-flavor a Grapple to keep them "pinned" down by hovering over them and knocking them down again and again.
Also: OUCH! First attack on me is a crit! :O

oh, and I almost forgot!
Was there opportunity before this point to perform a Tea Ceremony? Or are we going without for now?
(without will save me my bardic performance rounds for when we need them later, but with will give us the benefits of a bardic performance for 10 full minutes... the catch is the ceremony itself takes 10 minutes)
As we're in combat right now, I'll assume we're without for now unless told otherwise.

True, you can't re-trip someone who is trying to get up from prone (that's why trip-lock builds don't quite work)
You can knock someone down as an AoO to effectively prevent escape though. Ive looked into a lot of threads on this to make sure I had it right when I was running a game with a polearm based fighter in it. At the time I was really hoping it wouldn't work as well as it does. :)

"Unless otherwise noted, performing a combat maneuver provokes an attack of opportunity from the target of the maneuver. If you are hit by the target, you take the damage normally and apply that amount as a penalty to the attack roll to perform the maneuver."
Since he is using Kusarigama which has reach he counters with an AoO. With the penalty applied from the damage (CMD: 22 vs 23 - damage) the trip misses.

...well, the good news is... I'm still up and have my full contingent of spells and scrolls. That includes some Cure Light Wounds to get Onitora back into the game, and my "card up my sleeve" spell Windy Escape (to essentially negate the next attack on me that hits).
The bad news is that I'm also last in initiative. :(

Be careful about coding for dice, ooh, etc, from a smart phone. I occasionally have lots of trouble with the edit function on mine. Not sure why. Also, if you're in a car and lose your connection during a post, you'll lose the whole thing.
I've found that copying my entire post before I try to post it solves both problems. If I've coded wrong, or if it doesn't go through, I can just Paste a new entry rather than having to rewrite it all.

Mamoru Onitora: If I wasn't on the verge of death, and had a different list of spells known (or even were higher level), I'd create an illusion of a bunch of cheerleaders cheering you on. ^_^;;
At least, that's what I'm picturing in my head right now. :P
SMASH THAT CORBY! YEAH!

Hi everyone.
Turned out to be more than a power supply issue, and hit at a time when I had to um "re organize" my employment. It was several months before I could have a new computer built, as funds were required for more essential matters. Posting on the forums, unfortunately, was near the bottom of my concerns.
I apologize profusely. I am glad the game continued so long.
Sorry to have missed out on the fun, but life was steamrolling ahead unexpectedly.
I still appreciate having been invited.
Thank you,
Greg

TALIV!!! We thought you'd dropped off the face of the earth or something! We've been losing people left and right with no warning! Just seeing a party member post again is...I dunno, unprecedented?
DM! This is your cue. You know what to do.
EDIT: Also, my own absence last day or so was do to internet chicanery. Oh comcast, you silly, silly cable non-calendar reading cable providers...Lost my internet about a day early. Fun times...
Ok, now this is the part where Yumi steps up and goes, "hey guys! What Taliv said! Yeah that! Me too! Still wanna play!" and we all go YESSSS!

Nice to meetchya. You've got more experience in the thread than me, and I'm dead. Maybe?
"Taliv!? You died back there?" interjects any PC.
"Nope, I was talking with the man behind the curtain over there," asserts Taliv pointing to a poorly concealed man behind the curtain.
"IGNORE ME!"shouts the man behind the curtain.

Hi, Sunday and Monday are always going to be my worst posting days. Sunday Family time, Monday is work work work till its done day.
Scrolling back and re reading, cuz, I admit to being just a lil' lostered.
Are we in the Front Gate area? Or the Throne room area? Or the open air area between?
Just for my personal bearings, though. I'll post in a bit after dinner.
Thanks!
