About the Module
The Sunless Citadel is a classic 3E dungeon crawl created by WoTC. The 5 heroes will start in the small town of Oakhurst, which for our purposes has been placed in Taldor, in the foothills of the World's Edge Mountains near the Verduran Forest. They will then travel to a nearby ruined citadel which is located at the bottom of a chasm. Characters will begin at level 1 and should end the module at level 3.

Those Pesky Rules
I'm more of the RAI type rather than RAW. That being said, I think its good to clarify expectations up front.
-We will be using group initiative for combat. I'll roll the initiatives at the start of the encounter to get it going quickly.
-We will also setup some basic guidelines for searching rooms and opening doors to limit back and forth that can stretch things out on pbp.
-Encumbrance will be loosely monitored rather than strictly enforced.
-We will be using light and dark rules for vision and concealment...because it is a dungeon crawl.
-We will also put into place rules for food consumption because I think having some sort of tie back to Oakhurst periodically could be interesting.

So all of that being said, this is all up for negotiation prior to starting.

Posting Guidelines
You will be expected to post 1/day during the week and possibly less on weekends.
I will promise at least 1/day during the week and probably more if we get some momentum going. I can't promise 1/day on weekends. In addition, I occasionally have to travel for work. If this happens it should not affect my ability to post, just may change my posting time or frequency.

Character Creation
-20 pt. buy
-All Paizo material is acceptable
-Non-Paizo material will not be used.
-Unchained versions of classes should be used where possible
-There are no limits on character race but, I don't really want to go with 5 non-core races.
-Max HP at 1st level, we will roll at other levels, re-rolling 1's
-Average starting cash
-A background will be required - see below for more information
-You can take 2 traits as long as you can work them into your background.
-We will be using Background Skills

So, about that background...
I will not really be checking your crunch prior to selection - so don't feel like you need to focus on it unless that drives your creativity. I will be selecting our party mostly based on the background you create. Now that does not mean I am looking forward to reading pages of text on every aspect of your character's life. I feel that being concise is an element of good writing. I will be expecting to read a well-written synopsis of your character's background and how that helps define them as a character. In addition, please include one or more hooks that I can use in the adventure. My hope is to form the module around our companions. Assuming you can meet that relatively modest goal in your background, I will be selecting based upon what I find interesting. Note: I will not be focused on selecting a balanced party necessarily. Having an interesting mix is more important.

Once the party is selected, we will together select a hook to bring us into the fortress (there are a couple to choose from) as well as some basic info on the ties between the party members at the start.

Recruitment is currently closed.
