Has anyone played (or read) Hollow's Last Hope? Thinking about stealing some stuff from it but not if you're familiar with it.

I'm ALIVE! and I'm glad you're all doing ok too, especially those near Sandy! Be safe. This is the first time I've logged in since my last post. I'm not out of the work-woods yet, but I'm about 3/4 of the way there. Things have eased up slightly though and so I wanted to pop my head in and let you all know the scoop.

Have no fear of me disappearing - long term. I appreciate the patience and I will press on as soon as I can. Yay for gainful employment!

Also I have not read or heard of Hollows Last hope :). I miss playing :(

I think everyone has reported in since Monday...not sure where everybody lives. I probably don't need any of the Hollow's Last Hope. It is a free module you can get from Paizo, coincidentally set near Droskar's Crag.

I'll probably be able to speed up a bit once I figure out where everything is going. Combat is pretty easy but figuring out plot and background sometimes takes a bit of work, particularly if I have to look up plausible areas of Golarion for things to appear in.

As I understand it, if a spell is on your spell list (one you could learn), you can use the wand automatically, otherwise you have to do a Use Magic Device at DC 20.

For the factotum I'll say he has to actually know the spell based on what I read here.

Just to make sure we're on the same page with the Bodyguard feat Shorga gained at 3rd level;

Prerequisite: Combat Reflexes.
Benefit: When an adjacent ally is attacked, you may use an attack of opportunity to attempt the aid another action to improve your ally's AC. You may not use the aid another action to improve your ally's attack roll with this attack.
Normal: Aid another is a standard action.

I read that to mean that whenever an adjacent ally is attacked, Shorga gets an AoO chance to roll to aid another to give the extra AC bonus. Also I'm thinking this AC bonus would be applied before the attack in question lands on my ally.

Is alllllll that you're understanding as well?

Tie Up

If you have your target pinned, otherwise restrained, or unconscious, you can use rope to tie him up. This works like a pin effect, but the DC to escape the bonds is equal to 20 + your Combat Maneuver Bonus (instead of your CMD). The ropes do not need to make a check every round to maintain the pin. If you are grappling the target, you can attempt to tie him up in ropes, but doing so requires a combat maneuver check at a –10 penalty. If the DC to escape from these bindings is higher than 20 + the target's CMB, the target cannot escape from the bonds, even with a natural 20 on the check.

I like the idea of a CLW wand, but am also interested in Mount.
If something happens to our horses we're going to need replacements. Hopefully we could re-rig for four light instead of two heavy.
At level 3 the horses are pretty solid, but as we go up levels they become relatively fragile.
The ability to have 50 2 hour horses is useful, but only situationally. It's not worth a prepared caster leaving multiple mount slots memorised.

I know it isn't very exciting...

Admittedly I don't know Wolfwaker's vision for the future, but originally the horse drawn carriage didn't seem like it would be our only means of transportation. While I don't imagine we'll be flying around on dragons anytime soon, I want to consider that we may not always have the carriage. Of course I also realize that we are a traveling group, and horses will probably always come in handy...

I guess I'd feel better about the CLW, and then buy a potion of Mount later on. Sort of like getting a 'rainy day fund' in place before making other investments, if I can use the analogy. Thoughts?

Shorga considers the request a moment, "Probably lessh difficult than it'd be to learn to ride covered in shlime all the time." he finally says, thinking of the slime shooting out of the slurks back.

You can get two wands since you did the side job.

The slurk back slime gives you a bonus to stay in the saddle, but a penalty to dismount! I don't imagine they would make a good mount for traveling, though!

I am down with Cure Light, that is one I wanted anyway so I could work as back up healer to(and for) Kalum. Sleep or Enfeeblement would be a good second.

Do we auto "Aid Another" skill-wise? Meaning if someone rolls a 12, and someone else rolls an 18... do we see that as a 20?

I'm in another game that does that and it seems to encourage skill use/rolls, teamwork and keep the game moving.

Was imagining old worlde coach, facing eachother... with a folding/removable card table in the center. Space for a crate, maybe if table is stowed.

Little sliding window thing to speak to driver/passenger outside. Possible extension like a trunk.

When we get fancy, can we get better suspension and possibly a flexible hull, where is can twist a little and be more maneuverable/agile?
