For the record, if I am incommunicado for a while feel free to make rolls for me.
Is there a good place on here to keep a document of shared resources, like the accounts book, or an actual log of our travels if we wanted to write one?
Shorga Brull |
I'd like to take this opportunity to say, *sigh* I miss my Wolfbane. ;)
Kiren Tanariel |
Otis - massaging characters is 100% allowed. So switch away.
I'm fairly open when it comes to character modification even after we get underway, so just ask if you'd prefer to have a particular ability changed out.
Does this extend to changing our stats? I wouldn't mind tweaking them a bit now that I'm more familiar with what sort of things come up. Maybe bump STR down a bit, reduce my WIS and increase my CHA to 12. Role playing wise, I think his CHA should be better than his WIS. Also when we level up I'm thinking about taking a level of rogue (mainly for the skills and class skill bonuses) if that is OK.
Shorga Brull |
Oooh, in that case I've been itching to play an undead paladin of Iomedae, that cool with you? ;) I kid, I kid.
Kiren Tanariel |
Shorga: are you talking about me adjusting my stats or the rogue level? I don't want to go all munchkin but I hope you will bear with me a little as I learn the ropes here.
Kalum: where can I find information about those?
Shorga Brull |
@Kiren, just the adjustments we've all made since the beginning. I think it's awesome, so don't worry that I'm thinking you're a munchkin, cause I dont.

How does alchemical crafting work? The craft rules seem to indicate it takes a week to make something? And I pay 1/3 the listed cost in materials? Would I just deduct that from my gold (or the party's with their consent) or do I need to find a suitable place to buy materials in advance?
I found a few useful items I could make like the ones Kalum mentioned, also Beast Lure, Weapon Blanch (cold iron), and body balm.
Shorga Brull |
mmm, I am generally of the opinion of the more the merrier. So I suppose that means I vote for recruiting a 5th. I'm easy either way. We have a solid 4 right now...
Icarus Ras'Drexel |
I feel that our current group chemistry is working really well and don't want to risk mucking it up, but I suppose it depends on the challenges headed our way. I am for whatever would be most favorable to the group as a whole.
I will just move around a few skill points slightly nothing earth shattering so that I will be the one driving. Maybe develop a few new quirks hehe.
Shorga Brull |
That's what Icarus needs is more quirks ;) With the attention span on this guy I'm not sure how I feel about him driving heh
Icarus Ras'Drexel |
Well he is extremely Intelligent, just easily sidetracked haha. Just don't ask him a question that he needs to think about while he is driving or he may try and set up a chalk board to do complex equations.
Done fixing him up, moved a few skill pts around and switched out precise shot for expert driver:land I will re-pickup precise shot at 3rd most likely
DM - Voice of the Voiceless |
So I bent the intent a bit and gave you a peek of what's in the clearing :P
Icarus - don't feel like you need to focus on jacking up the drive skill as much, you can always keep Precise shot if you want.
As to a 5th - I'll leave it to you guys. If you know someone directly looking to add an extra game, then feel free to direct them over here.

On vacations... I'll be on vacation at Lake Tahoe, from tonight till next friday (the 12th). Supposedly there will be internet and I am bringing my laptop, but I'm sure my posting will be sparse at best. Please bot Shorga as needed.

Working on a backstory for another adventure...are clerics normally part of a formal organization or can they just be freelance? Do they need training or do they just have a miraculous experience? Coincidentally this character would be a halfling also, but he follows Erastil.
Shorga Brull |
They can be freelance for sure. They don't even have to follow a particular deity.
While the vast majority of clerics revere a specific deity, a small number dedicate themselves to a divine concept worthy of devotion—such as battle, death, justice, or knowledge—free of a deific abstraction.
I think even some of the archtypes reflect a hermit, or solitary lifestyle, which is a further indication a specific group isn't needed. The only example I could find was 'Separatist (Archetype)' But clearly this isn't a new concept.
Icarus Ras'Drexel |
Clerics need no training, their 'powers' come from their god or ideology as a direct conduit through them. They pray or meditate and then the spells that they require become known to them. Hence why they know their entire spell list and wizards/sorcerers have to learn theirs.
They can of course get training or guidance through a church.
Icarus Ras'Drexel |
Nope, I am good with sharing driving duties with you, that way if one of us is injured or tired the other can step in. We have not yet replaced you so as long as DM is ok with it, you were sleeping off a mighty hangover in the back or something, glad to have you back.
Shorga Brull |
the victors write the history books, as they say
Shorga Brull |
Guys, just an update; I've been swamped at work the last few days and been struggling to keep my head above water there. I hope you can all be patient with me while I get that crud worked out. I'll get in as soon as I can and get posting again. Thanks for being patient! Or at least not acting impatient! :)
Shorga Brull |
Me! - sorry for that, am travelling for business and didn't get as much time as I hoped before I departed.
I'll have a post up in 24 hours or so when I have enough time. It's close to midnight already and I've got a 5:30 wakeup call.
Yikes! travel safe and good luck with the trip and wakeup call.
Shorga Brull |
checking in :)
DM - Voice of the Voiceless |
It is with a heavy heart and after much reflection over the last few days that I must shut-down this PbP. The travel over the last three days has combined with the general slow and steady building of relative busy-ness at work to make me need to reassess what time I have available to be a DM.
I know that I've not been as active as I would have liked recently, and I don't see it improving in even the medium term. Given that I would rather run a good game than a half-assed one, I'm needing to drop both this game and a few others from my PbP roster.
I truly enjoyed the time that I was able to spend as your DM and feel an absolute heel for pulling the rug out from under you like this - but it really is the only real way that I have to move forwards with some degree of confidence with being able to service the games that I will continue with.
Best of luck in your future gaming, and I'm sure I'll see you around the boards.
Shorga Brull |
I'm sorry to see us go, but we had a good run. By the by, I really enjoyed the concept of the campaign DM, it was interesting and engaging. Group members, you were also tons of fun to RP with and hopefully we'll all get a chance to play together at some point. Mahareheza!
Kalum Navigator |
Voice: This campaign has been really good - I can understand wanting to stop if you don't think you'll be able to keep up such an excellent standard. I am disappointed, as I was really enjoying it, but I understand.
Everyone else: Been great playing with you guys, I hope I get a chance to do it again!
Kiren Tanariel |
Voice: thanks for running the game for us. It's been a lot of fun. Thanks also for picking me for my first PbP and my first RPG in quite a few years!
Even though I am in a couple of other games, I sort of hate to see this end. I would not mind trying a turn as GM if you guys are up for it. Or we could perhaps take turns at it? What do you guys think?
