Helgash moves along with his companions, weapon ready, and bolstered by their actions at the church, and the fact they managed to put the boy's soul to rest.

He tends to stay close to Jetro, Venja and Duardlara, doing his best to keep them safe from any possible threats, so he addresses the elf as they approach the house and body - "Are you well Duardlara?" - his tone is calm - "It has seemed to me you have been very introspective since our encounter with the dreadful wolf creature - is something disturbing you?"

People, I'm gonna grab that +2STR Composite Longbow if no one does, and those 4 remaining arrows - is that cool?

She regards him with her very large eyes, gives him a little smile, but dismisses his question with a shake of the head. Quietly, "Fine, thanks."

As you approach the body a voice calls out from near the body in the direction of the house. Filthy human scum and smelly elves. Mind your own business and leave well enough alone while you can. Oh and antler boy, you reek of worthless as well.

Lara, looking around you see no one in sight that the voice could belong to. either it is magic causing the message to appear, ventriloquism and the source is nearby, a creature that is adept at hiding, or an invisible creature

You are still 10 ft away from the body but can see claw marks on the arms and the side of the face. He does not appear to be breathing and is indeed quite dead as far as you can tell Venja.

To answer your question Beck apparently twigjacks are quite vulnerable to arrows blades, teeth, claws, bardiche and anything else you want to throw at them. Fire weakness is there as well. No ther weakness or defensive abilities. they do have an ability called splinterspray: 15 ft radius cone of needles fly out for 3d6 damage reflex 14 for half.

Quicklings are highly susceptible to slow effects. If they do not move they are invisible. their fast speed gives them an evasion type quality, blur effect, and uncanny dodge.

Two of the twigjacks are immediately pulverized into kindling as Jetro critically hits one as well as Beck. Sheelah rips into it as well using it as a toothpick. Helgash gets a lick in as well but that twigjack remains upright.

Venja and Lara protect themselves with mage armor spells.

Bottom of Round 1
The last twigjack steps up to provide a flank for the quickling who comes sprinting back to attack Beck.

quickling attack on Beck with flank 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (16) + 12 = 28 for 1d4 - 1 + 1d6 ⇒ (4) - 1 + (3) = 6

the twigjack then unloads a splinterspray attack hitting Venja, Helgash, Sheelah and Lara for 3d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 4) = 8 DC 14 reflex for half.

Good guys up

From the house a sobbing woman riushes out and collapses in agony over the fallen man. After a while you get the story out of her...

The house belongs to Maret Truskin (NG female human commoner 1)and is currently under siege. Maret's husband, Borvald, lies facedown, dead, in front of his home, while a terrified Maret has locked herself inside with their two children, Jory and Katlina.
When Maret was just a teen, a passing satyr seduced her and left her with child. She soon gave birth to a male faun she named Garen. Ostracized by the people ofEllsprin, Maret came to live on the outskirts ofthe village. Garen sensed he was the source ofhis mother's alienation, and when he came ofage, he ran away. Years later, Maret found happiness and married a kind woodsman named Borvald, and the couple had two children oftheir own.
Recently, the now-adult Garen fell in with two quicklings, a couple named Faernip and Zzababa. The naive faun was unaware of the capricious cruelty of the fey and told them his story. The quicklings became outraged that "verminous humans" would presume to be ashamed of fey relations instead of the other way around. Now for cruel sport, they have traveled to Ellsprin to punish the village, starting with Garen's mother, Maret. Garen attempted to stop them, but the quicklings overpowered him and tied him up in an abandoned barn nearby. The quicklings intend to "toughen him up" by forcing him to watch what they do to his mother.
When the quicklings attacked, Borvald tried to fight them off while Maret and the children barricaded themselves inside. Sadly, the quicklings killed the woodsman.

Searching the barn you see the other quickling and quickly dispose of it and free the bound faun.

Venja tries to comfort Maret, and listens to the tale of what happened here with rising anger at the cruelness of the fey creatures who perpetrated this. "I cannot say their own anger at your treatment was misplaced, Maret, but their reaction to it was so very wrong. I am so sorry for your loss. What can we do to help you?"

Duardlara's face clouds at the woman's story and she is eager to seek out the barn immediately.

Afterwards, back at the cabin after they have rescued the faun, she's at a loss and stays at the back of the group as they speak to Maret.

Oye Kiddo, Beck says to the young Fawn, clopping along the crust of the snow to the boy how yea holdin up? Yer mum's fine, as are yer half-siblings. so at least there's that. come on, and we ken see em. Things'll be hard but you can manage. Actually having a family would be more than worth it. Trust me.

The faun and mother reunite after the long ordeal as both seem to be in a state of shock at first. Eventually they recover and thank you all for intervening when you did. The faun listens to Becks words of encouragement and decides to tame his fey ways and stays closer to the family while Maret thanks you all for saving her and the children and helping to fix a situation that she felt horrible about for years. In thanks she asks you all What brings you to us at such an auspicious moment. We do not get many travelers this way. Clearly you are headed to Whitethrone. If it is not too forward what business do you have there?

In repayment as well for saving her and her children and faun son she gives you a ushanka of the northlands. This large, furry hat is sewn from the thick pelt of an animal native to the frozen north, and has earflaps that can be pulled down or folded up over the crown of the hat. When worn, an ushanka of the northlands grants its wearer a +2 resistance bonus on saving throws against cold effects and a +5 competence bonus on Survival checks. When the earflaps are pulled down, the wearer gains a +2 bonus on saving throws against sonic effects, but also takes a -2 penalty on Perception checks made to hear. Pulling the earflaps down is a move action.
CONSTRUCTION REQUIREMENTS I COST 2,250 G P
Craft Wondrous item, resistance, creator must have 5 ranks
in Survival.

The faun, Garen, also gives you 750gp in gems and jewelry that the quicklings stole form others.

Sorry for the sparse posting guys - been having crazy work weeks. I'll try to update in the morning.

Understand just waiting to see if anyone responds to Maret's comments or if we just have the stylish Jetro now all encompassed with a new hat.

Btw, unless specifically mentioned all magic items except for armor and weapons are able to resize to fit small or medium creatures.
