Goblins are not overly bright but they can be very cunning. I find it best if we can plant the seed of confusion in them and maybe get them to fight themselves. Hopefully it will make what we must do easier.

Directs Galen and the others to the more defensible area he spotted earlier.

Go up there and Hide, do what you can to rest up and recover. I am going to cover your tracks up there and cover our tracks from where we came from earlier. Hopefully I can erase all trace of our presence and if not, I can at least lead them away from you and double back later to meet up with you.

The spot Mogue shows the party is fairly good; still quite close to the goblins; good temperary spot; but if the goblins really start searching; best estimation; they will find this spot in a few hours. In this spot the party has the advantage of higher ground; cover, and some concealment.

What preparations are being made?

in the backgound; various coughing and coughing fits can be heard from the various members affected by the spores and various cuts that members have begin to throbe and swell and burn; as cuts tend to after the adrenaline wears off.

anyone with the healing skill would think it a good idea to change or make bandages and clean various wounds and well; there are also some teas that can be brewed of common things that could help with all the congestion and mucus from the spores.

Male Gnome Sorcerer 3

Getting to the temporary hiding place, Gloisil unties the extra shirt that he put over his nose and mouth to keep out the mushroom spores. He stuffs it back into his pack.

Gloisil then goes about checking on the rest of the party members to see who is injured. Although not trained in healing he will do what he can to assist the others.

Male Halfling Rogue / 1

Bob will gather some dry firewood and start a small fire checking the wind to make sure it won't blow toward the cave and heat up some water for tea.

Fem Elf Bard 3

Sunset staggers along until every one stops. She simply collapses onto the ground, caring only about breathing, dimly aware that her heaving has stopped since her body is long past the point of having anything inside to void.

With effort she begins to fumble at the back pack she didn't have time to drop, struggling in her weakened and disoriented state to work her way out of its confining straps. Slowly weak sobs begin to intersperse with her labored gasps for breath.

"I...in't...worth...th'...effort."

val,if i take 20 on a heal check can i tell how long it will take for lost con to reappear?

Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD

Sure, this is not permanent, with good rest as the body purges the spore invasion; about 1 point of con return per two hours, much faster if grain alchohol or certain healing teas are used. These symptoms are very much flu and allergy like; very heavy chest congestion, dizzyness due to infected ear channels, feverishness, wearyness, blurred vision and eye redness, runny nose, lots of mucus, severe cough, thoat soreness.

Of course, there are spells and other magic you saw during the war that would clear this right up.

ok; after about 5 minutes; Bob has a small, fairly smokeless fire as it hasnt rained in a couple days; but that isnt gonna hold; sky is pretty dark; rainclouds just hanging up there waiting for something to happen. Most of you guess it will probably rain in 6-10 hours a pretty heavy downpour.

Mogue gets back from covering the tracks; Bob has some water (about 4 cups) heated <gm is wondering what he is gonna put in it>

"ok all of you who can help, we need some stuff; see what you have or can find nearby:
Honey

Hyssop herb

Safflower petals

Licorice root
Menthol leaves

I can mix this in a tea and ointment that should allievate our discomfort and cleanse these spores; try to get enough that we can make enough to take with us back into that infernal lair."

Fem Elf Bard 3

Sunset does little more than fumble at her clothes and gear, vainly struggling to put enough strength and co-ordination together. After a few moments, she manages to get her back-pack straps off her shoulders. Then she spends as much time as he gasping breathing will allow her removing the boots from her legs/feet.

Every one else gets a good perception check to realize Sunset isn't going to stop at just removing her pack and boots!

Lifting her already ruined shirt, it loudly serves at material to alleviate some of the girls 'mucus' build up, before she begins to wriggle and strain against its soggy folds.

Galen looks slightly pained! "damn my knightly vows!"

Galen roots through his back pack and provided sunset with a blanket to cover her up.

Fem Elf Bard 3

Even as Sunset casts away her mangled, mucus laden and mangy shirt she coughs loudly as something is thrown over her head. Galen doing the chivalrous thing with his blanket

"Hey, who done turned out th' lights?!" Comes Sunset's muffled complaint from under her covering. The mounded blanket twitches,

"I mean, geeze, If'n I'm puttin' off that much of a waft ye've got's t' throw somat over me, please lead me t' th' water an' I'll happily throw m'self in!" Galen's Sunset shaped blanket twitches and wriggles, hunching occasionally as more coughing, gasping and sneezing attacks ensue, before her torn pants follow the rumpled shirt out into the fading? daylight.

"Awe maaaan! I'z gots t' get some water an soap on m'self, asap!" And Sunset's bare brown arms emerge from under the blanket to fumble with the clasps on her back-pack.

"Me N'uncle didn't say nothin' abouts needin' t' bring a dang bucket on a adventure." She grumbles, gagging and coughing between complaints.

some roots, might be the right root
you found some mint
found some clover

you see Mogue has found some:
Honey
safflower
Menthol leaves
rose hips

but you know that cinnamon is from trees that dont grow around here an neither does licorice; which is a legume from a much more southern plant ans so is Hysop which is very mediterranean (and likes to grow near cabbage plants and attracts a certain butterfly that visits each.

The goblins might have what we need, but I doubt it since it doesn't affect them. We will have to make due with what we can find.

Male Gnome Sorcerer 3

As Mogue and Gloisil are walking back to camp with the ingredients that they have found, Gloisil has an idea that may work.

Upon returning to the camp, Gloisil takes off his pack. He retrieves a spoon from inside and unties the kettle that hangs from his pack.

"Bob, I believe that with the water that you already have boiling, and the few needed ingredients that we have found, that I may be able to make up for the ingredients that we lack with a little magic."

"If we combine the ingredients that we have as Mogue suggests in my kettle and stir it with this spoon, my hope is that the magic inherent in these two items will make up for the lacking ingredients."

With Bob's permission, and under Mogue's direction, Gloisil will begin to attempt to brew the antidote for the mushroom spores.

With a whisper the Kirn arrives, he has with him another cleric; Greko/Roman by the look; he tips his horn to you and all of your are healed; all wounds; all lost stats; you are restored to full health.

Here, a companion's request

Then, the Kirin leaves, just fades away...

Brother Kedan says; well; we are just gonna need this brew; I can get the stuff; you guys go on; I will get the stuff and get a little hospital set up; if you guys need it; and i fear you will; I will get some antidotes and stuff; I can do this much better by myself; so if when you guys come out I will have the stuff; doubt we can depend on that holy horse guy to come heal us each time.

There is a look of surprise on the newcomer's face as she looks around, likely wondering where she was. She was carrying her own pack and a quarterstaff, armed and armored; the leather armor tooled with beautiful patterns, but no obvious symbols. Her dark, curly hair was pulled back away from her face and behind her un-pointed ears, secured by a thong, from which dangled a beautifully worked hair ornament, a golden lyre, visible when she looked around. She was short, but able-bodied and her gaze was clear. Underneath her armor and pack, she was dressed practically, A woolen skirt fell to her knees just past the leather skirt, the sandals she wore typifying her culture, laced up to her knee, and fortified to be something more suited to long travel. Despite the circumstances that she had witnessed, a slight smile showed on her face. "Well met, it seems.."

Her voice held a cultured accent to it, speaking the trade-tongue in precise, measured words, her attention drawn to the animated blanket, looking a bit bemused. "My name is Desidera", she said, giving a slight bow, one fist to her chest. She spoke two more phrases, both with rather liquid sounds, both having the tone of inquiry to them as she looked among those gathered for comprehension, but what they were specifically was unknown. Her next words were in the trade-tongue again. "I see you were suffering before.. what manner of situation have I been brought into?"

Male Gnome Sorcerer 3

As the Kirin appears and announces the newcomer to the quest, Gloisil stop in his preparations of an antidote and listens. He also feels the slight wound that he received is healed. Looking around he see that everyone has stopped coughing and is looking much healthier.

Gloisil listens carefully as Desidera speaks, not quite understanding everything that she says. Gloisil tries hard to understand her and see if it is one of the languages that he knows, but he is pretty sure it is neither elvish or gnome.

After she finishes he says, "Welcome to our humble and humbled party of adventurers. Yes, we were in deep need of help, but it seems that your appearance with the Kirin has healed us of our ills."

"We ran afoul of some goblins, that in and of themselves were not difficult to fight, had put some rather nasty natural defenses up in their cave that is below where we are currently camped."

"If the Kirin brought you here, it would seem that you are to join our quest. We would gladly accept anyone that would help us achieve our goals."

Male Halfling Rogue / 1

Now that we have hot water and don't seem to really need it, I will put enough dirt on the small fire to extinguish it quickly. Then seeing our newcomer I will introduce myself as Bob Proudfoot, a halfling, gentleman rogue. Pleased to make your acquaintance, Desidera.

A thoughtful look is given to the animated (and now limb-possessing) blanket, Desidera mentally checking the things she knows she has, and much to her dismay, oil is not one of those things that she has with her. The halfling's greeting draws a smile from her, and she looks between everyone else, inferring their group roles. The sound of the goblins making noise as they search ensures that her attention is there, slightly worried that the group may be caught unprepared. She looked around as she spoke, taking in the lay of the land, though she knew next to nothing about defensible positions, save that where the ill-intentioned creatures were, it was usually practical to be not.

"Well met, Bob", she replied politely, "Do you know many goblins are there that we should be concerned about?"

Male Human (Celtic) Ranger 1

To Desidera:
Greetings to you, I am Mogue. We would welcome your aid, for the more the merrier. We were sent here to retrieve an object the goblins have, and kill a few goblins while we are at it. *Chuckles*

Bob would you be so kind as to sneak down to the entrance and see if they left a guard? I will follow behind and guard you should you be spotted. Am hoping they are all off following the false trails I made and we can sneak back in.

Male Halfling Rogue / 1

"Certainly Mogue, on my way."

"Well met, Bob", she replied politely, "Do you know many goblins are there that we should be concerned about?"

With a flourish of material, Sunset swings and twirls the blanket about herself. Revealing lengths of arm and leg as she does so, eventually her dandy-lion puff of blond hair is surrounded by the now blanket turned 'poncho'.

"Hey there!" ^_^ She exclaims upon seeing the new comer within their midst.

"Are you th' one respons'ble fer th' sparkles? I in't felt this good in ages." Sunset skips towards Desidera. "Mind you, I in't felt as bad as afore as in ever." She adds quietly and seriously, before using the solemness as a distraction the better to 'GLOMP' the newcomer within the folds of her blanket.

With a thrusting of bare leg and foot Sunset quickly points to all of the party members and introduces them in quick succession then turns and, at a distance close enough to rub noses, says,

"As fer th' oil ye mentioned? There's no call fer needin' that. We's got a small keg o' spirits whut'll do th' job handy enough. We's just got's t' be sure'n we dun't get hoisted by our own 'petard' when we set the thing t'light." She winks and then whispers,

"Now then, if'n ye c'n be doin' th' sparkly thing about's me gear over there, we c'n stop Galen here fr'm lookin' redder'n a tomato." She giggles mischievously ^.~

Desidera could not help but smile at Sunset's attitude and slight indication at Galen, who indeed did seem a bit flustered by her fashion sense. The hug was returned easily, if not as enthusiastically, and she left her arm around her waist as she leaned in to her to whisper back just as quietly. "Cleaning is the province of the Arcane. Mend them, I can, however." That said, she did suit deed to word and gave a glance just as mischievous in return, moderating it somewhat when she looked at Galen again. The small smile she could not hide, and busied herself with humming the minor effort of divine magic to repair the indicated shirt and pants, having learned that sometimes one way to mend bodies and minds was by ensuring that they were comfortable.

She did recognize Sunset's type, having heard stories about those like her from her family, though she had little opportunity to meet any of them. Of course, juvenile fancy was one thing, and this was entirely another. She was not some weak maiden, and Sunset was not a roguish male-- well, she was roguish-- here to sweep her off of her feet. Still, she was not minding the circumstances as much as before. In fact, she was wearing a brighter smile than before.

Carefully casting mending on Sunset's clothes

Fem Elf Bard 3

Sunset watches, blanketed arms till rapped around Desidera's shoulders, as the newcomer casts her magic over Sunset's gear. Resting her chin upon Desidear's shoulder she whipsers something in Elvish to he ear.

She she turns to the group, laughing.

"I like this one! C'n we keep her?" *giggles* ^_^

"Okeys, who's up fer roastin' gobbies!" She adds, with a slightly darker undertone creeping into her voice.

Sorry, couldn't resist th' image. *^_^* Lets go get some!

As she watches Desidera work her magic, something the other woman has said slowly percolates through her thoughts. With a startled blink Sunset comes to a realization. She untangles from around the new comer and skips towards her mended, but still trap tainted, gear. Bopping herself lightly upon the forehead with a brown palm Sunset exclaims,

"Here I be, th' Bard o' the party an' fergettin' th' tricks I dun lernt from me Nuncle an' friends." So saying Sunset begins to cast Prestidigitation upon her clothes, humming a bright and jaunty tune through which the magic weaves and cleans. After a while and happy enough with the results Sunset simply drops down and folds herself under the blanket, the pile wiggling and twitching until, shortly and sprightly, she stands again having transferred her clothes onto herself.

She grins impishly at Galen, though sharing the smile with every one else who is still about,

"Sorry fer that. I guess I were sooo distracted at tryin' t' not be dyin' I plumb fergot whut magics I could be doin' t' be helpin' out." She quickly checks her weapons, armor and kit, though still wearing the blanket 'poncho'style.

"Y'know? Fer some reas'n I rilly feel I should be wearin' a hat." She ponders to herself as she 'strikes a pose' holding her x-bow skyward, resting it's stock upon one hip.
