Speaking up so Galen could hear. "If all the rooms are in the state of the other one, without any evidence, it is fairly safe to assume they are all in the same state, isn't it?"

Sunset shivers a little at Desidera's words, though her gaze doesn't leave the glittering motes in the distance.

"Um....they in't clouds, luv." She whispers back. Upon hearing the rangers words Sunset blinks back to the party and looking at the door.

Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD

Door looks broken; is closed but smashed; could be scooted aside fairly easily.

Male Gnome Sorcerer 3

Gloisil will move the door just enough to peer inside and see if there is anything of interest.

Male Halfling Rogue / 1

Bob does a quick perusal of the door hoping to spot any traps or other signs. 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Well if there is anything there, I sure don't notice it.

Fem Elf Bard 3

No worries bob! (^_^)

"So's, we's happy with there bein' nothin' more o' interest an' be movin' on?" Sunset asks, still sounding casual and unconcerned as she looks either way along the corridor the party is standing in.

Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD

No traps are detected.

This room is like a mirror; meaning backwards but otherwise identical, to the other piston room before you entered and cleaned up the place a bit.

in the far corner there is something a bit hazey and hard to see; misshapen lumps in the darkness.

Other than that; peering from the door; this room seem unremarkable; certainly not the center of infernal darkness that you have come to destroy :)

Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD

There are two other doors close by; on to your left; one to your right; this place was the site of a bloody battle some time back; dwarves made a real stand here; the ranger is checking the floor and walls and mumbling.

"Those dark shapes in the corner certainly could be just more barrels of grease, but I'd sure feel better if we got some light in there and made sure real quick before moving on."

Until someone can get some light in this room to see what is in the corner, Gloisil will check out the room to the right and see if there is anything of interest there.

Fem Elf Bard 3

Sunset actually luaghs a little,

"Hey! No worries Gloisil, ye've a capable Bard about t' be sheddin' light on'a situation!" So saying Sunset directs the small bobbing orb of light that she had summoned earlier with her magic to drift forwards into the room, the better to illuminate the shapes in the darkness.

Oh, an by the way. There was another game which I was a part of where the DM has dropped off the twig due to Real Life issues. Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD

ok; just so we are all on the same page/map, I might have messed up from memory so have the map and relaying correctly; please adjust.
After coming up the steps from the Grand Hallway into the Machine Corridors, so I was giving as you see it; but looking at the map ;the Grand hallways is at the top and the corridor you walking is coming South or down on my map:

First two doors on the left side of the wall go to piston rooms
Then one door to the right goes to Very Large Gear.
Then one door to the left to another VLG; one door to the right you have not explored.
then one door to the right your standing in front of which is a piston room.
Continuing south; you see another door to your right and a little farther on; a door to your left.
The Hall continues.

So; I assume Gloisil wants to check out the door to the right that was unexplored; it goes to a small antiroom that is 20x20 and a hallway leaves it going right or East on my map. Their is blood and bones and refuse as if a bloody battle took place here long ago. You are standing in the hall looking in and have not entered.

For some reason it is getting much warmer in the hallway...

As the temperature rises Sunset actually rolls her shoulders,

"Hey, things is feelin' nicer in here, don' cha think?" She asks pleased that the dungeon isn't all damp and cold.

you notice the swirling, buzzing lights getting closer; you know that if you or anyone looks directly at them; it will be very hypnotic.

Since the angle that they were travelling at was probably leading them deeper into this place, the heat that Sunset noticed was not something encouraging to her. To her, heat was "sun", and there was no sky. Not here, anyways.

So that meant "fire". With not a single dwarf seen yet, that fire was worrisome, since the only things they had seen were goblins. Sunset could hear her sniffing the air, testing to see if it could tell them anything beyond the increasing heat. If it were foul, then it was more likely something bad. "Is it a good or bad thing, though?, she murmured back to Sunset.

"Here now, luv. Our Fay friends c'n be a mite too good on th' ol' eyes. Them's flickerin' has a way o' trancin' peoples out, so's jus' be careful with th' sweep o' yer gaze now, okeys?" She informs Desidera, but also speaks loudly enough that the rest of her companions can be aware of the potential hazard.

"So? Checkin' in? Or movin' on?" She asks.

Nice roll:
among all the smells of earth; guts; gore; death; you do sense burning but as you remember that there are several scorch marks and saw evidence of burning stuff and smelled it from rooms; you cant tell if it is new or old; the stone beneath your feet doesnt feel any warmer neither do the walls; so must be the air then...

it occurs to you that you notice the heat is internal to you; and not outside at all; like your heating up in your chest; could it be the lights coming this way...

"Sunset, if you are right about those fey lights, then I think the best thing for us to do is to turn our backs to them and move on down the hallway."

As Gloisil finishes his comment he just just as he advised and starts moving further down the hallway trying to put some distance between himself and the on coming lights. While he is moving, Gloisil and his owl will stay alert for any signs of possible danger.

Ok; you have two hallways to choose from; the one behind the door that is bashed you didnt check ;but is obviously a hall; and the hall you are currently in; you can see one more door before the hallway ends down down out of sight.

on the floor you can see a few rocks of coal and wheel trails; seem to come out of hte hall with the door and head down the hall; is obscuredin many places by dried blood and gore, but looks like decades of driving wore a single tire path down the center of hte hall; which sadly acts like a blood groove.

Male Human (Britonian/Azurin) Earthblood Knight/2

At each pause of the party, Elsdyn will turn and eye the way behind him, looking for signs of being followed.

"Mogue, tis not my forte to find that which does not wish to be found, particularly in this armor. Thus it is on you I depend to alert me to a problem."

"As you are a man of the bow, I think a simple system using your bow will work well enough. I shall keep my eye on your bow, rest assured even in complete darkness I can see it fine. As long as the string is not pulled, I will know you have not found anything. A half pull, will indicate we are being followed but to do nothing. I will respond to this by sheathing my sword and stretching my right arm, making a comment aloud as to it being cramped. I will then pull the sword back out from the sheath. A full pull means the battle is to be engaged and I shall immediately move to protect you and the others, engaging as necessary."

"If this is agreeable to you, then we will let the others know the signals."

At hearing of the lights and their fey relations, he will avert his gaze from them. Though not tutored on such, any man of Brittany knows full well the stories of the fey and the dangers such encounters have for humans.

with your evidence; light; warmth your guessing summer court though being underground is more winter's or wyld's domain. That thier here means Titania or one of the Queens has an interest in what is going on here; or if their Winter; then Mab does or one of the other two queens of winter. Cant be Wyld as you would never see them unless The Hunt was in effect. Flying; glowing; voratious; probably Grigs and Sprites; but hard to say; might have a few ground troops you cant see depending on how important what their doing is; probably lead by something not as flighty as a sprite; maybe a brownie or if really important; perhaps a leperchaun. You know that there is a high lord of Summer nearby that is a leperchaun who has a few legends with adventuring parties of note; he has sworn to watch over any adventuring groups in his domain and stop them from destroying the world. You rolled well enough to know that High Lords name is 'Blarney Joe'

As Gloisil remembers that there is another hall to choose from, his resolve to just continue down the hall they are currently in falters. In his concern about the fey behind them he forgot about it and almost set off in a blind panic.

"Looks as if we have another choice of direction, there is a hallway through this bashed door. There also appears to be a well worn track heading off in that direction. Which way would everyone like to take? I think that we should take this hallway to the right."

Ok; I would like to move this along one of the hallways; so am just gonna do it as we seem to be stalled.

The hall behind the broken door is long and straight; is 15 foot wide and 15 ft high; made of heavy carved stone blocks and mortar.

There is a large opening on the right side of the hallways about 30 ft distant; the opening is about 30' of the hallway. This hallway is also lit by some undecernable magical effect. There are a few more doors to the left and two to the right beyond the large opening.

This hallway ends in a door some 150' foot away. There is evidence of massive fighting in this hall and the groove in the floor comes from the large opening.

It would be appropriate to make spot checks at this time.

Male Gnome Sorcerer 3

Gloisil not waiting too long for a response from the others, goes through the broken door and and motions for Sunset to follow. Upon seeing the 15' foot hallway now in front of them and the illuminated hallway ahead, he scans the area ahead for anything that might catch his eye.

"Sunset, let's go, the others can follow our lead."

Gloisil & Hoot make a spot check as they start down the new passageway: Spot: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24, Spot (Hoot): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23

Sorry I haven't responded in a bit. I picked up some extra computer work on the side and have been busy. I was also hoping some of the others would post, but I agree, let's move on and they can catch up.

Fem Elf Bard 3

At Gloisil's urging Sunset nods and follows along, gently tugging at companions elbows to get their attention as well.

Desidera follows along, each new hallway holding another hope that this one led outside, though she knew that it would be a while before she was not enclosed by so much earth. Her natural state was a neutral blah, the world seeming to not have much meaning if it were not done outside. Still, these were her companions for good or ill, and she helped Sunset nudge the others along, with little change in expression, trying to take a shorter view of things, so being down here did not seem so bad to her.

Sunset eventually starts to 'high step' along with the party,

"Oooo, ICK!" (>_<) "This place is right horrible!" She mutters as she winces and looks down at the grime she is both walking through and is covering her bare feet.

"Gobbies is definately not th' sort o' peoples I'm gonna be invitin' around t' any place I be callin' my home." She whispers.

"I surely do be lookin' forward t' gettin' t' some where's whut's got a bath o' some sort." She sighs in contemplation of one of life's small luxuries. "I dun like a floor whut's all squicky!" :P

Gloisil at see the remains of a great battle pauses to consider those who died and if he will one day meet the same fate, perhaps even in this once great dwarven city. He then takes a moment to examine the scorch marks on the wall to see if they were caused by magic or more mundane methods.

Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD

Hallway; and you would think everyone sees it at this point until someone walks down the hallway oblivious and walks into it or past it; you would think it is noteworthy; but maybe they are waiting for you to investigate; is definately magical.

Arcane roll; definately magic battle took place here as well as mundane. That means dwarven sorcerers/psions as they dont have wizards; might mean gnomes too as most dwarven strongholds have a contingent of gnomes; usually illusionists. You know from growing up not far away that this one had Yuri Brighteyes <lvl 9 specialist wizard illusionist> and his two apprentices Calipus Sourface <lvl3 illusionist> and Dogwalker Diddlestep <Lvl3 illusionist/lvl4 rogue>. In this area you see the effects of several explosive Orb spells and the way some things are stuck in the walls; looks like the Dark opened up and ate some goblins; fire looks like oil; but the greenish tinge is definately a magically summoned gas. Looks like a few lightning bolts orginated from the elevator so that cant be from the gnomes. Also looks like many magically sharp weapons as there are slices in the floor and walls.

"There was a lot of magic used in this battle. Most of the scorch marks are mundane fire, but there are traces of magical energy based attacks and lightning. Looks as if some of it may have been the Dwarven sorcerers, but there was also a contingent of Gnome illusionists here."

"I'm going to take a closer look at this gem floating in the hallway and see if I can determine it's purpose, it is most certainly magical. I have not the talent to tell exactly what it is, but I can find out the type of magic that created it."

Gloisil casts Detect Magic and makes a Spellcraft check to see if he can determine the type of spell used to create the object. He will try to use the Detect Magic spell for the full three rounds to gain as much information as possible.
