Oh, before I leave you, I would check my possessions. Master Bob has an interesting concept of ownership. Hey, Baelinor, are you going to return them the items Bob returned to you?

When Lorm leaves you, you notice that he moves with grace and in silence. Even though he is wearing the hideous pink cloak, there is a darkness around him. He is wearing a holy symbol, even though he is with the emperor.

Hey Mageling, referring to Kemnebi. What Lorm says is true. He can't take responsibility for his own actions. Why should he take responsibility for others...

...By the way Lorm. Have you told Baelinor how your good wife Arlene is doing? It is very clear there is disgust and hatred in my voice.

Sorry folks, I just am not getting the time to post...so quite rapidly.

Baelfic; "Apparently we still see things at a different level..." He laughs. "I am concerned about what Freda is bringing, the thing she managed to wake up/summon/create one of the ancient enemies akin to the ones sleeping in the ocean, that is what we need to deal with now."

Lorm; "I see folks are under a little misunderstanding, the quest things young adventurers are on was one I have been moving forward...it seems the Emporer finally agrees with me..at least publicly" Baelinor smiles. "The items our most noble hafling returned to me are those I created or otherwise obtained to aid those seeking to accomplish the tasks I set forth." pauses..."hmmm, well most of them anyway..."

At that Baelinor moves over to the Priest of Bast. In Egyptian: "I regret not having more time to spend and discuss at length the importance of this quest, set forth by me and my friend the High Priestess of Isis, Amber. But time is not in our favor now, so go with the Blessings of the Gods upon you and your comrads. And know that the Goddess Bast will undoubtably smile upon this work and in time yet grace all her faithful again."

"Please take these items as a sign of my appreciation for the work you set about doing and a hope that they may savely aid in even a little way your successful completion of this dire mission and you and your comrads safe return."

Baelinor will hand the items over (I havent had time to look through things so Val, up to you our I will take care of it later) and then offer up his own prayer (spell buff Mass Eagles splendor (lvl 16) and Mass Energy Resist (Val, pick the energy I think they would most likely encounter--swift prayer to Donblas I select the best one/some gold sacrifice... counts as lvl 17).

And then, he says in common; "May Donblas bless your adventure and justice strike down your foes. I look forward to seeing all of you safely back at the Temple of Donblas, I will keep some beer chilled..." He smiles.

"And now if you would move into the passage, I will ensure no-one follows." The temperature starts getting cold...freezing and ice begins to from in a wall like pattern around the doorway.

Female Kalashtar (Eberon Campaign Setting p. 16) Psion 6 (7 when imp is within one mile)

I give Baelinor a smile as I duck through the doorway. "You and your companions have our deepest thanks for your aid. May luck and light be with you!"

Once inside, I send Falco quietly winging a little way ahead to see if anyone or anything lies in wait.

Tarry and speak with him; I suggest you let him bestow a kiss upon you which will open yours and is minds for private conversation (ie; you will get a free mind link when he is not blocking you)

she turns her attention away dismissing you; seems unconcerned with what is happening here in general.

Baelinor; you have a boon to ask me, I understand; but never have you been my friend; always have you resisted my teaching; riddle me this and I will consider what you ask; it is no small thing; If I destroy Frieda as you would ask; the Old Ones would know; surely they slumber; but they would know; it is a game of strategy; we move; they move; they move a knight; you would expose the queen at this time; I am not certain that is the best move. But I ask you; why am I here; why do I let Balfic Graa continue to carry the sword of my champions; what is that swordd for and what does it represent. Answer this for me well enough and I will see that Frieda is stopped.

Turning to Falco, I say, "Do not fear the mighty Kojan, Little One. He, as the rest, are here to protect us. And when this is over, your name will be praised along with all the others in the Halls of Heroes."

I chuckle at the conundrum of the halfling and barbarian and their wayward tunnel, then I turn to Loviatar.

Unlike previous greetings, where I performed a formal curtsey, I bow on one knee to the Lady who has been so gracious to me. "My Lady, I am honored to be in your presence. When we have freed your Green Sister, she shall know of the value of your aid in our effort."

this is a square 5' shaft going down; lots more slime and ick here; the floor has fairly large rollers built into it and hte shagt goes as a down angle of 55 degrees; it will be difficult, very difficult for some; to walk down this shaft; you think they had one or more carts here and this is a roller system for the carts to roll down the shaft; probably carring all the towels and stuff that gets washed each day for the bathhouse; where the cart is you dont know; behind you on the wall you see an old corroded, but fairly large winch system; probably for hauling the carts back up. The ceiling is peaked; but there are a lot of crackes in the stone; and booming noises as the Dracolich arising from the bathhouse shakes things and the Dark Dragon a bit away shakes things; and when Kojan walks; the world trembles, thank all that he is mounted; but you have heard that where Kojan walks; earthquakes follow; so you want to get down deep enough to safety before that happens.

the fairly passive freaklike fey kid all in black freaks out at this:

he points right at Lorm "THAT BASTAGE KILLED MY MOTHER; BROKE HER HEART, USED THE MAGIC IN HER TO DESTROY EVEN THE ESSENCE OF WHAT SHE IS. I WILL KILL YOU, MY NOT STEPPED ON ENOUGH STEP FATHER, I WILL KILL YOU SLOWLY LIKE YOU KILLED HER, BRING YOU THE AGONY YOU GAVE HER; TAKE YOU FROM YOUR FRIENDS AND LOVED ONE; HAH; YOU HAVE NONE; BUT IF I FIND ONE; YOU WILL SUFFER THROUGH THEM; I SWEAR IT. BY HORUS THE AVENGER, YOU WILL GET YOUR AND KNOW ILL BEGOTTEN FATHER OF MINE THROUGH THE LOVE AND LIFEGIVING OF MY MOTHER; I WILL CLEANSE YOU OF YOUR SINS IN PAIN AND AGONY." Then the kid is overcome by his emotions and leaps into a fight with some undead somewhere in great reckless but trained abandon.

Loviatar, is very moved by the "kids" open performance; she looks at Lorm her face pale; well, more pale; "As it should be, you murdered love Lorm; I will bless that ones quest and give him the power and resources to do that which he desires; you must learn Lorm and must stop this trail of destruction that you have chosen in your life; each day millions of asians in and around the monestary that you came from hope and pray that someone will take up the staff of ancient knowledge that you spurned to walk with that nutsoid elf. My tone becomes sympathetic. Mageling. I do not know whom you have angered. But you and your kin have a Doom upon you. I see it clearly. It would be best to appease who ever you angered. For this Doom will kill you and your companions. Every monster will try and attack you if it can reach you. They will be drawn to you like moths to the fire. Anything that might be an enemy will be an enemy because of this. They will never stop or give you rest. Your companions and your quest are in danger because of it. I suggest you offer up a prayer of forgiveness to whom you angered. Ask for a quest or deed to accomplish. To prove your worth and good will. If you fail then you carry the Doom. Do this for your companions sakes.

Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD

ok; I have forgotten a few things.

Kenembi; when you see Fystor staff; you realize it is a Staff of the Arch Magi; much, much stronger than a staff of the Magi as os his robes; you should all the the idea that Fystor transends all this petty squabble talk or at least ignores it as such a person bathed in the light of truth doesnt need an interpreter.

Especially Astinos; but any lawful person; in your eyes; as much as Cera appears comic hazy and unreal; Baelinor exudes law; is the most real and finely defined person you have ever seen; with Baelinor close; all the effects of the sword of chaos normalize; with Baelinor and Balfic here; Law has the upper hand at this moment; so lawful people feel much better, clearer thought, my sure of themselves and renewed sense of purpose; chaos wanes; feeling bit uneasy and edgy; once in the dungeon; everything will go back to normal.

oh; with your already rolled spot rolls; when Baelinor walks on the cobblestone road; the bricks all align and straighten to perfect alignment of size; shape; and function; guess he has holy feet. :)

did I mentioned the two amazingly pretty girls who come to join the party looking at Kenembi and Astinos; for you each they are the perfect height; weight, and build; they are demure and have downcast eyes; they just come and stand close to you two; and follow along where you go. They will assist and seek to help you; hold your staff; a light; a refreshing drink; they dont at all look wimpy and in Kenembi's detect magic sight he has one; they do appear to be or have on them many types of magic; many meaning many spheres of magical type school; ie; tranmutation; enchantement; illusion and the like.

Casting a glance back at the wench assembly, "That device should hold our weight with a rope attached, and if the length of a rope is not sufficient to get us past the steep decline, we could probably run the wench out for added length."

I draw my silk rope from my pack and begin to tie it to the wench, testing it carefully to make sure the wench is securely set into the wall and that it won't tear loose when weight is put on it (after all, gods only know how long this thing has been down here, probably rusting away).

As he waits in line for his turn to begin descending, he looks to the side to find himself standing next to one of the pretty young girls who had appeared and asked permission to accompany the group. She makes no no attempt to hide that fact that she is there to accompany him. He glances at Nebibit with a look of confusion.

ok; need some balance rolls; str rolls if you miss a balance roll; the path is very very step and with all the rollers and slime; pretty hard going;

five balance rolls please; base 10; +4 slime +3 incline smooth surface +2 rollers; add in your armor mods; -5 for using the rope; total: 14 plus armor mod.

str checks to hand on 13

balance to get back up

Male Drow 5th lvl Fighter/2 Order of the Bow (Crossbow) Initiate

Balance rolls.

d20=5+5,(rope)6(skill)+4(Fystors Spell)-1(armor)=19
d20=19+5,(rope)6(skill)+4(Fystors Spell)-1(armor)=33
d20=15+5,(rope)6(skill)+4(Fystors Spell)-1(armor)=29
d20=7+5,(rope)6(skill)+4(Fystors Spell)-1(armor)=21
d20=2+5,(rope)6(skill)+4(Fystors Spell)-1(armor)=16

male Half-puck Barbarian-1, Cleric of the Grey-3

Balance: 1d20+6-2(armor penalty=19
1d20+6-2=19
1d20+6-2=16
1d20+6-2=16
1d20+6-2=14

Female Kalashtar (Eberon Campaign Setting p. 16) Psion 6 (7 when imp is within one mile)

Don't forget our buffs. Everyone will have an additional +4 from Fystor's spell, and since Balance is Dex-based, you also have another +2 because of the +4 Dex increase from Lorm's spell. So everyone should have at least +6 on top of their normal skill bonus.

As far as the rope, it looks like Val already subtracted it from the Save DC, so if we add it to our roll, then our Save DC should be 19 rather than 14 (plus armor penalty), otherwise we're doubling the rope bonus.

Female Kalashtar (Eberon Campaign Setting p. 16) Psion 6 (7 when imp is within one mile)

My total bonus: Skill +2, Fystor's aid +4, Lorm's aid +2, no armor penalty = +8

Using the rope, but not adding the rope bonus, Save DC = 14

1d20+8=15
1d20+8=23
1d20+8=21
1d20+8=25
1d20+8=18

The first cautious step is a bit miscalculated, and Namaste slips but manages to catch her balance before plunging headlong into the muck. The rest of the way is slow but steady going, until she reaches the end of the rope and nearly stumbles over whoever went before her.

male Half-puck Barbarian-1, Cleric of the Grey-3

adjust my balance checks by +4, I already included the cat's grace but not the morale bonus from Fystor

All Balance rolls are: +5 (skill) +4 (Fystor) +2 (Lorm)= +11 Total Bonus to rolls

1d20+11=22, 1d20+11=27, 1d20+11=12, 1d20+11=27, 1d20+11=18

Giving up on casual conversation with the new girl for the moment, Kemnebi follows the others down. His natural balance with the gifts they were given allows him to easily travel the first bit of their journey. But halfway down he ponders some of the words given to them by the entities above. As he contemplates the meaning of "Having a great doom hanging over them" and how to get rid of it, he loses concentration and stumbles. He recovers, but near the bottom apparently becomes entangled with Namaste.
