As you gallantly do the tango style dip of your dancing partner; you intercede; but not against the monk who is fluid and accurate; instead, it is the downward chop from Grymbol which lands across your back; as the blow lands; yours and the little persons blue eyes meet; some bond between you exists as you KNOW that she feels your pain; feels what you feel; though she has no feelings yet of her own until they begin to grow; Anger; pure and rightous anger grows in her; her body swells and gains perhaps 20 pounds and 4 inches of height all muscle like a tiny little Hulk; and some of her creamy skin shows between the tattered bandages. A certain trepidation for your comrades is a vague notion somewhere in the back of your mind.

Val, I wonder, could the Dimension Swap power be used as a test of whether someone is an ally or an enemy? According to the power description, only allies can be switched. But is "ally" defined as someone who the manifester consciously acknowledges as an ally, or is it defined as someone who either has the party's best interests at heart or shares a common goal with the party? If it's the latter, I'm thinking it might be possible to try it on the Slaymate, and if I am able to penetrate her PR/SR, and it works on her, then it could answer the question of whether or not she is a "friendly." But I wanted to run that idea by you.

I define ally by the caster; so if you consider someone an ally; and they are willing to participate; it will work without any rolls needed. If you could find some way to tell her, though you dont know her abilities; that you are a friend and she believed you for example; it would work.

so; bottom line; ally is anyone you consider an ally who accepts the switch.
in the next round of course; alliances might change as sure as circumstances do.

Slaymates are powerful undead; dont know how to put this into playing terms; so just think 16HD undead that can be advanced from there; they are elite and vile among undead.

your detect evil is nuts; sometimes this thing flashes and spikes beyone anything you can concieve; like near godlike or demon prince evil; sometimes nothings; some instance; you feel a kinship aura to aura; is very confusing; I rolled a wisdom roll for you and and intelligence and looked at your skills; you best guess is this thing has multiple personalities that come and go or perhaps take over in various moments of stress, but you dont get the idea that this is either undead or a slaymate, but something else that may have been posing as one; you get the idea it was on its way to the concert and doesnt seem concerned about the music that is deadly to mortals, ie; the living. Maybe it is a machine or mechanicus or something like a golem. Without more information you just cant tell.

It would be appropriate that everyone make a roll vs the intimidate; if your in combat you can add +4 to your save; the results of failure wont be as severe as it would be for a non pc; as I think pc's should really choose their actions and this skill is more for use against non pc's is my thought. If you guys really dissagree we can just go with the consencious; but once we make this kind of call we stick to it.

good by everyone?

Llevenoc fails save and moves with dance and grace. It was already dancing and joins in with flashing blades; no contact made.

round one; Llevnoc on full parry from last round; banter; she dances and flows like the wind with Llevnoc's graceful movemnts making him look sluggish and slightly cuts both his feet; he dances toward the green door and she partially follows.

a pychic spell is cast to freeze IT with no effect
a Pychic blast is cast with no effect; detect magic inate power used.
combatants join the fray and do various amounts of damage; though far less than they thought; obviously this creature has some damage resistance.; Llevnoc blow next action to intercept a hit with his body.

It yells in an exceptionally loud voice; YOU HURT HIM! YOU WILL PAY!

she is suddenly as a quick action; 30FT North up the street, she lifts her arms to the sky and shouts in a voice so loud the building shake; make a fort save dc 22 to not be stunned and deaf for d4 rounds if you are out in the street; the casters and people still very near or in the inn; dc is only 17.

"BROTHERS; BROTHERS; I AM BESIEGED; COME TO MY NOW MY BROTHERS THAT WE MAY DANCE WITH BLADES OF DEATH AND PAY THESE VARLETS WITH THE BLOOD OF ANGUISH!

A stirring of power is heard; felt by anyone with divine or arcane or pychic power;

everyone makes a perception roll successfully unless your are deafened, then you autofail as I used you pre rolled ones; You all notice that with her very very loud shout of power; the music of the concert has come to a grinding halt; a dead silence reigns.

in the swirl of shadows near between you and IT something steps from the shadows; it is a thin fey looking creature about 4ft tall, it has twin heavy black broadsword that are dark purple in radiated power, it also has several daggers; looks deader than dead; blotched skin and a broken neck; its head lols a bit to the side; yet it has uncanny strength and grace; it is black and nearly wire thin; yet radiates life like becon. It has the polished skulls of several powerful creaturs hanging from its belt tied on by its hair. Around it the shadows wisp and snarl; some coalasce into biting teeth and and momentary faces then fade back into shadow.

"Why have you summoned me sister? I have not yet finished by training to become the ultimate assassin under the Dark Priest Balfic Graa that I fulfill my debt to my blessed mother by causing the death of Lorm Dragonheart. <it looks around> everyone can feel its fear aura; dc 22 to advance on it; failed means your shaken for a d4 rounds. <the can be countered by many things so dont worry to much>

ah; children of Lorm; are they to be a test; shall I kill them and mount their carcasses for you Sister?

the She It says; No brother; they acted with honor and did not disturb my dance; spare them;; the It He says; I wish to kill them; but for you I will grant them naught but the Great Doom of the Vikings; I learned it from the Cursed Sword of a viking god; it was carried by my aunt/uncle and surmother of darkness Cormath/Cormatha. <it twirls some vicous looking daggers; <Thoronhen; you recongnise the Left Hand Assassins guild symbolage on them as a Master though this thing is only like a 9 year old by the looks; or it died at nine or something>

The ground erupts to the She Its right; a crack in the earth of fire and brimestone and a very well dressed (like imagine the best looking studded leather you can imagine; kind the tuxedo of this time period if you will; silks; high collors; ruffles, gems, his sword and shiney dagger glow dark yellow in magical power) eight year old boy springs out. "well now little sister; only a month old and already finding playmates in over your head; ah; the frailty of womanhood; sit back little sister; though I am not ancient like our elder brother; I have been around for a year now and can handle the likes of these, he cocks and ear and looks behind him, they may be a little much though; what did you expect from me little sister; perhaps if you told me I had to win a war I would have brought the cadre of southern boys with me and the deathknight allied to the emperor, we may be in over our heads"

"the elder creepy looking guy responds; we will win; we always win; even the dead fear my touch. I can smell my surmothers touch even her; ah; that bat knows me; we are one is the mothers embrace; and that dark elf priestess; Jewel is that you? How is your Sister? Are you with these; Sister of mine; we cannot harm the Jewel; nor it cocks <it cock it head> nor can we harm Namaste; bad karma."

She It says "I will have me revenge; join me brothers; follow my will.

"they are worms who attacked me; worms; <she stomps her foot and beneath you down the tunnels under the inn you hear a groan> Worms hear my call; "worms hear my call intone the brothers" and worms by the millions begin to appear; they crawl up through the ground; the wood; the floorboard; and pour out of the tunnel in great speed.

Wraiths and Shadows; the fastest of the undead begin to fly down the street; nearly a hundred; they move and the eldest it brother moves his hands and they all begin to circle him like a giant undead cyclone, the She It; opens a cut on her writs and pours it forth on the worms and the brother pulls the essence of brimestone and essence of hell forth from the ground and pours it into the worms; the eldest brother rips apart the essence of shadows and wraiths and pours it into the worms; and hte worms begin to seeth and bind.

Then the She It; speaks to the worms; you are my sons; my brothes sons; you are the sons to Kurse the world of living and the dead; kill them; kill them all save those we give 10 minutes respite.

This finishes her action and the brothers actions though they have a half action left; by game terms they each cast a spell.

about 30 vampires appear in blinding speed coming in armor and not to kill and slaughter; fastest of the corpreal and fleshy undead; hundred of slower others of all types do you see coming down the street; I guess this fight in the street may have not been that wise you begin to think and the green door is looking like a good idea.

the vampires move to attack the three and other move to incercept and attack you guys; but any who get within 10 ft of hte worms are doomed; the worms are everywhere and crawling now slowy and moving out; but when somethign gets within 10 foot it shoot out and digs in; all of the vampires get infested with the worms; and stand shock still as the worms seem to be gaining power over them then begin fighting the undead coming; this seems to soon turn into a huge civil war right here between the undead and the newly created worms feeding on them; the Son of Kyuss are born.

currently there are no worms within 20 ft of the party as they are all in a moundlike circle around the three and starting to spread out.

"hmm; what have we done my brothers, perhaps I went to far; this could get out of hand, I think you should go; I will be ok; these worms wont hurt me; I have to consider this. Perhaps playing games of death with Sicilians last week has warped my thought process; never before have I felt such rage; what is that all about".

<she strips off her costume and is a beautiful little blonde haired 6 year old girl underneath with pigtails and a sunny dress probably made by some farmers wife.>

Llevnoc; your up, though you probably need to wait for heal to do much other than talk and you gave up your action.

Ok; proceed by initiative; worms 20 ft away and moving toward you slowly; three freak weird kids in the middle of it; hundreds of undead starting a little war here; soon the big hitters of liches, mummy lords and deathknights will arrive; on the other hand; this is one big distraction to keep the undead busy.

Unless im very much mistaken a protection from evil spell cancels out any mind control spells in affect

Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD

Protection from evil does grant protection from enchantment and charm compulsions; but it must come from an evil source ie caster or item; or be used to do evil; ie cause an evil action; hence the spell is called protection from evil; his compulsion to come dance; was not evil nor cast by and evil castor. According to the Sage column of the old Dragon mag; the Sage spells out three things for this spell. That it is Evil is first and foremost. A magic circle of chaos or neutrality would be effective in this case as this opponent would fall into either of those, but not in this case as no evil is involved.

I believe that if you asked Llevnoc in this or the discussion page; he believes this to be a dance only and not combat and no intent to kill or do great harm and is irate that the party attacked his dance partner.

Is this an acceptable explaination?

He takes a deep breath and bellows," Light has come to your dark hole, come and try to quench it! Come and see your shadows stripped away, your worthless souls laid bare and naked in the light. COME AND SEE THE BRILLIANCE THAT WILL BE YOUR OBLIVION!!"

Swift action-Test of Mettle: All enemies in a 100ft radius who hear him must make a DC 18 will save or they are forced by the power of his challenge to only attack Astinos using any means at their disposal

He then adjusts his stance taking total defense as he watches them come. AC for next round is 30

Grymbol casts a spell still has a half action left. Llevnoc has no action; Jewel has full action; Astinos has a half action left after moving and emitting a challenge (quick); though nothing or no one has yet responded as the worms are to stupid (int less than 5 and the worm mother is not yet fully formed), the good looking kid has left into the crevise (half action); Llevnoc's dance partner shimmered and left (half action); the oldest freak looking kid seems deep in a trance and is wrapped in shadow; little shadow jaws kill any worms that come near him.

Jewel casts a spell; a disk lifts that is flat and round and is created under Grymble and Llevnoc; it raises to a height of 8 ft and moves toward the Green door; she jogs that way as well looking about.

Thoronhen easily lifts Namaste and with dexterity jogs toward the Green Door.

Other things that happen this Round. Wierd green yellow and red lights begin sparkling around and inside the bathhouse; they look hmm a whole lot like Will-O-Wisps (and they should cause that is what they are) and a great undead bellow of some Gargantuan beast sounds from within the bathhouse like a mega challenge to all; probably the reason Caledon said not to go to the bath house proper.

The near silent battle of Vampire vs Kyuss Vampire in talon and bite feral type battle; the advancement of other undead; Ghouls are cowards unless they have great numbers or someone commanding them so you can see them cowering or and running around in teh backgroud if you have good enough vision.

In the distance about 500 ft; you can see many tens of flying and foating wraiths and spectres; they hate you all and want to kill you; but are afraid to come near and they saw many of their number get combined and grafted into the worms. No telling how long it will take before they will approach.

Projected from the Oni mask that Jewel wears; the image of the face of the Emperor, a face about 10' high and up in the air about 30' takes a look at the situation; which gives some of the arcane users of the party, like Kenembi, an idea that the masks are in some way connected to the Emperor.

High in the sky's overhead, the skys begin to churn into a storm and a very cold wind starts to blow.

Namaste;

Spoiler:

though your stunned and a bit out of it; you know your familiar is in deep rapport with that weird undead fey looking thing and some powerful hungry mind in the distance and get the idea that they are calling this great beast; your familiar is quite excited as it got and is relaying to you that the wierd undead fey kid says that their is a Dracolich in the Bath house and your familiar is concerned for your safety.

As the little girl begins to wink out. I raise the goblet I have and toast her drinking the clean water. I then put my goblet away. Fall back Astinos. Reposition to where your shield and spear will have use. A twig has no hope of stopping the storm that is upon us. But it might block a door. Holding here will be a useless sacrifice.

do you mean holding there, as in the street, rather than here as you used? got a bit confused when you said holding here is a useless sacrifice; holding the doorway for characters to leave to relative safety would be heroic and noble of deed or sacrifice if it got that far.

anyway; just waiting for rest of peoples this round actions before we continue to next round.

Seeing all the others head for the green door and deciding that discretion is the better part of valour Nebibit will follow after them, grabbing Kemnebi by the collar of his clothes on the way past and pulling him behind her.

Str check to pull Kemnebi (If needed)

1 d 20 + 3=23

You are strong enough to carry him if he is not resisting at a jog as max speed.
