This spell comes out far more powerful than you expected for no reason that you know of.... X2 effect; very bright... as the rainbow goes down the hall; arcs on the back wall and come back stopping a few inches from Astinos...The image of an arching rainbow burns the retinas as the acrid smell of burnt lizard scale and flesh begins to fill the hall.

d20=1+8=9 sigh. As per my flaw I take double duration of all blinding attacks vs sight. So 4 rounds for me at -2
I stagger back from the rainbow flash as if I were buffeted by a strong gust of wind. Drawing one arm back to protect my eyes. But alas I was to late. Instead of being enveloped by blackness I am surrounded by blobs of color dancing arounf and obscuring my vision.

He staggers a moment, rubbing his eyes, then peers through narrowed eyes at the results. For a moment he stands there, gaping, then he puffs his chest up, smiling like he just ate the canary.

"I know, isn't it great? I modified that spell from an old scroll I found in the library back home. It works a little better than I thought it would,..." He mumbles at the end, but his chest is still puffed out as he turns his attention back to the abominations, still grinning.

the Abominatios; infused by dark snake magic; surge forward and attack the front lines of Astinos and Kosan hitting the paladin for 16 and the dwarf for 17 as one attack from the series hits each and the others leave scratches down their shields and breastplates.
Aahz; still trying to get the rogue to follow him in a sneaking attack plan, tosses a dagger into the combat hitting for 8 points of damage.
a wave of pychic energy comes from the Dark Elf and rolls over several abominations leaving bleeding eyes and noses for some damage; can a snake look disoriented hehe.

The undead mage casts lightning bolt on the abominations; the thunderous clap that follows shutters the hall and shakes dust from the ceiling BOOOM!
47 damage to all abominations who apparently cant reflex save for diddly.
This is enough damage to finish the one Astinos has just wounded as Kojan has finished the one wounded from last round.
The undead cleric brings out a warhammer; casts a spell and it appears 30' down the line and beans the third abomination for 28 damage. The warhammer hangs in the air swinging and such by itself, following the undead clerics movements.

I draw my rapier for self defense as I can't see. I hear the crash of combat and the cracking flames ahead of me, but won't risk shooting blind down the corridor. As my vision is still obscured by giant splotchs of color.
I try to amuse myself with thoughts of shooting the idiot who blinded me in the ass with one of my crossbow bolts. I just have hopes that Kosan and Astinos continue to hold the front line, as my sight returns quickly.

Are there still several of abominations 'close' (IE=Melee range) or are those down, and the others are farther away? (Trying to decide on a close or long range spell!) :)

The grease should be gone at the end of this round as it takes two rounds to burn down; all sight modifications will now be at -2 due to all the smoke.
