with your superior vision; you can see a group of abberation snakemen at the corner of the hall right where it turns; you havent an idea how many; but they are obviously guards, but dont seem to good at it; they are big and there are enough to fill the hallway; roll for more info
Kosan
This area of the dungeon has stone construction very different than the other parts; the crypts were 10,000 years old; the recent earth tunnels; a few weeks old; this stonework is ancient; the stone imported from somewhere you are not familiar with; you estimate the age of this dungeon to be Pre Dwarf, perhaps even Pre Elf and perhaps older; roll for more info.

'Fox, I suspect that this environment is going to hamper fire spells, and probably enhance cold-based ones. It's also going to hinder displacement and illusions. I'm loathe to try transport spells unless desperate. And I'm fairly certain that True Seeing would be hazardous to our sanity!'

I roll 15 on 1d20. In case it matters I have a Dungeoneering plus of 11. Shades offer +4 to search and enhanced vision. and Search +9 Adj. If any of this helps me decipher the age.

AS for your roll; this stuff is totally ancient; like before calendars were invented and peeps kept track of time; maybe before peeps; so any guess is as good as any other; older than the Collossus; probably not as old, but nearly, as old as a story Kosan told you about the Table of the Gods down in the Southern Continent, where the various dieties met while creating the world to work out how everything was going to fit together. Something this ancient might be why the current dieties dont have much influence here or able to see this place.

The reason for the differing pantheons converging into a common folly of a plan to send a group of inept, under powered, diametrically opposed pairing of misfits to save the realm.
Not even the most vile evil in the darkest reaches of hell would have thought to make a concentrated effort to stop us, we were thought by them all to fail miserably.
Yet here we are below the crypts of the Gods champions from many pantheons that are over 10,000 years old if a day.
Then into the fire of this ancient arena, with stones from I know not where they were cut from or their composition.
This place is older than the first mighty Dwarf or pointy eared elf. Nay even before the Colossus of legend. This be the Table of the gods as told by me brothers tale.
The very place where the first gods of all aspects, races, and desires sat to decide what was good, bad, elf, dwarf and even what was evil. This is why the Deities all look on only if they can even see within this area at all.
None have power here this is the place where they were given their powers, dreams, and desires as prime beings.

Have your priests and (Looking at the mad mage) you magi to cause havoc to aid us in getting to the Goddess. Please have them follow the instruction of Fox (pointing to fox) so that we can concert all our efforts.
