Browman |
A zombie charges Voryn attempting to smash him with its arms.
1d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
It seemed like Voryn was going to block the zombie's attack with his sword. But it's momentum couldn't be stopped. Voryn takes 7 damage.
Garekk, Vorel, Sir Rois, and Hailey can act now.
Swift-Palm |
I'll take me delayed action. How do you deal with diagonal movement? Is it 5'/10'/5'/10'? Or all 5'? If its all 5' I can make it to the zombie next to Voryn in one shot.
Vorelloex Vaecaesin |
Vorelloex keeps his head about him and creeps up along the side of the entrance of the cavern, waiting for Calistria to bait the dead into his hellish embrace.
This fair woman has a good plan... I hope this doesn't go to uinota.
Swift-Palm |
I forgot we could attack diagonally. I will be moving my full speed to the spot next to Voryn and use an unarmed attack on the zombie.
Unarmed Strike: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12
Lol, I miss again!
Sir Rois Grave |
you should have a 13 to hit Swift. You have a +2 strength mod. Monks get their full attack bonus when they don't flurry. Not sure if the extra bit helps or not though...

Normally I would have a +2, but I used Power Attack, thus only having +1 :)

You don't qualify for power attack at level 1. Monk's BAB is only +0. Power attack requires a +1 BAB. Sorry none of us caught it before now. Maybe the GM will let you switch feats?

Definitely Swift Palm can switch feats. Sorry I missed that earlier.
Also in order to move and attack the zombie you have to charge as delaying only gives you a standard action. Charging gives you an extra +2, though you have -2 AC until the start of your next turn.
This is also a good time to point out that you should always roll damage.
Hailey Besh |
Hailey will move fifteen feet closer so that she is now standing behind Garekk. She is too small and too slow to be able to do anything else.
She is not in range to use her 'hexing' or channeling energy against N. Nowhere near in range. Nor can she take a safe, clear shot against him with her crossbow. And there are no spells worth casting as yet. So, in my judgment, she can do nothing else this turn.
Sir Rois Grave |
Sorry guys, I messed up hard :( I'll make changes to my sheet. I'll try not to be nooby in the future
Ya. No worries. Monks are tricky beasts to get a hold of, rules wise. You won't believe how many monk, bard, or rogue builds I see on the Advice forums with Power Attack at first level. Every day, someone needs a reminder. In fact, I almost forgot when making my character.
Calistria the Courier |
Calistria heaves a heavy sigh.
"I suppose I should have actually told everyone the plan before I ran out." She berates herself. Then she steps backwards and clasps her hands together around her holy symbol.
"Desna, lady of butterflies and stars, I plead for your aid. My allies are hurt and the undead plague them. Let your light shine through, healing the injured and harming the unnatural."
Calistria moves back behind Swift. Then she Channels Energy.
Channel Energy: 1d6 ⇒ 5
Anyone living within 30 feet of me heals 5 HP. I believe both Swift-Palm and Voryn are injured, assuming Voryn stays within 30 feet of me on his go - my turn is after his. By my count, three of the zombies are also within that radius - which means they each get a Will save, DC 13 or they take 5 HP of damage.
Channel Energy uses left: 5
Bit of Luck uses left: 6
Voryn Chaldov |
Voryn feels his wound become lesser as the energy from Calistria heals him. "Thank you Calistria."
He then drops his bow, pulls his sword out and swings it at the staggering corpse, but in a manner so that he will be properly ready to defend himself from the zombie's next attack. Voryn fights defensively giving himself a -4 penalty to attack and +2 bonus to AC.
Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7 (BaB+1, Str+3, Favored Enemy +2, –4 fighting defensively penalty)
Damage: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 1) + 6 = 10(Twohanded Str Bonus +4, Favored Enemy +2)
AC 21 until his next turn

Voryn concentrates on defense and misses his attack against the zombie.
Calistria heals.
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
1d6 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
1d6 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
1d6 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
One Zombie attacks Calistria
2 Zombies attack Voryn
The zombies all miss.
Everyone but Voryn and Calistria can now act.
Swift-Palm |
I have settled on Mobility as my feat in replacement for Power Attack. Also, if I am not mistaken, I would like to move through Garrek's square to try and circle around all of the zombies. Yes I know I will be provoking AoOs (I have an effective AC of 20 against those). Let me know if this movement is not ok. I am using both my actions to move.
Swift swerves around the hulking figure of Garrek and follows the side of the cavern, around the mass of flailing bodies. A few of the undead attempt to stop him, but he expertly avoids all of their vicious attacks.
"I will try to take care of the spellcaster!" he shouts over his shoulder to the rest of his companions.
Garekk |
With a raw guttural cry Garekk leaps forward at the skeleton threatening Calistria. His greatsword swings through the air, and
Rage Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Damage: 2d6 + 5 ⇒ (1, 5) + 5 = 11
I really doubt that this hit, but we will try
Sir Rois Grave |
Rois moves to flank the zombie with Voryn. He plunges the longspear into the fleshy skull of the terrible creature.
Longspear Attack w/ Flank = Longspeak Attack w/ Flank: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 3 + 2 = 17
Longspear Damage = Longspear Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Sneak Attack Damage = Sneak Attack: 1d6 ⇒ 1
6 total damage
Hailey Besh |
I'm going to have some fun with this guy, Hailey thinks to herself.
She moves down ten feet, then moves to the right by five feet, completing her ability to move. But then, with the mischievous smile only gnomes can do, she casts Dancing Lights near the magician. One immediately to his right, one immediately to his left, one between his legs, and one atop his head.
This doesn't do him any harm, but it might provide the rest of the party better clarity of sight. Perhaps it'll reveal a weakness in his armor or something. Or at the very least, confuse and startle this little upstart.
Vorelloex Vaecaesin |
If we are still in round 1 I already acted, moving along the side of the corridor much like Rois. I only took a move action for positioning, sorry I didn't format it clearly before.
Swift-Palm |

We are in the second round, afaik
Vorelloex Vaecaesin |
Sorry bout the delay guys. Here it is.
Round 2
Vorelloex keeps both hands on Scream, and bustles to the other side of Calistria to defend her. At the sounds of the engagement, Vorelloex's countenance begins to focus and darken, and he speaks not words, but seethes a sort of mystical, radiant fury. Entering Rage
He swoops past her flank, aiming to sever the zombie on Voryn's other side.
Raging Axe Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 181d6 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
Standard Action: Axe Attack. Move Action: moving. Rage Round 2 of 5 spent.
Calistria the Courier |
Calistria quickly leap backwards, stepping behind Garrek. She reaches out and brushes his back, letting the gift of Desna flow from her to him.
Calistria is making a five foot adjustment and then touching Garrek. She is using Bit of Luck on Garrek.
Garrek At any time before my next round, when you roll a d20 you can roll 2d20 and keep the highest of the two. You get to do this once.
Channel Energy uses left: 5
Bit of Luck uses left: 5
Garekk |
Thanks, Calistria! I get the feeling that I am going to need that.. The dice have not been friendly lately!
Swift-Palm |
I'm going to try grappling N. He shouldn't have a high CMD, so I just need to roll well. He can't cast if he is grappled, other than using Still Spell Metamagic. I'll let you know if I need assistance :P
Voryn Chaldov |
Voryn launches a power attack on the zombie next to him.
Power Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7(BaB+1, Str+3, Favored Enemy +2, Power Attack -1)
Damage: 2d6 + 9 ⇒ (6, 3) + 9 = 18(Twohanded Str Bonus +4, Twohanded Power Attack Bonus +3, Favored Enemy +2)
Garekk |
Disappointed with his miss, Garekk repositions, and tries again on the zombie directly in front of him..
rage round 2/7
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Obviously I am going to take the 14 lol Many thanks, Calistria!
Damage: 2d6 + 5 ⇒ (5, 4) + 5 = 14
Garekk lets out a primal howl of victory as he lands a solid blow against the Zombie
Garekk |
Browman. Who is the 14 to attack against? With my rage, I am -2AC, making me a 14..
Calistria.. And thats the honest truth there.. lol

Pretty sure you should be doing at least 2d6+6 while Raging Garekk. Your strength should be 19 at that point for +6 damage from strength with a 2H weapon.
The Half-orc finally lands a blow, and cleaves the zombie in half with savage arcing slash.
Swift-Palm |
Swift approaches to mysterious man and tries to get him in a chokehold.
Grapple Check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
I have improved grapple so I don't provoke when attempting to grapple.
