Grigg the scarlet shamed |
Grigg wilts as the beast backs away from him.
"a healer's hand can only heal so much I suppose"
He sighs and joins the rest of the party around the fire, partaking of whatever food the orcs are eating.as he settles down, he takes a look around the camp, beyond the chief and their supposed champion.looking for someone who might be a beast trainer of sorts, or a medicine man.
perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Grigg the scarlet shamed |
"strange.they claim to be nomads, but don't seem to have pack animals for transport.perhaps their might allows for easy travel."
Grigg wanders away from the rest of the party, letting the stronger fighters handle the matter of challenge. Surely kax or ipreek could easily bring down the champion.lost within his thoughts, grigg finds himself moving towards open tunnels.
"perhaps time alone will clear the mind"
He mumbles
grigg gotten up and is moving around the camp, though now he's head for an adjoining tunnel not too far from the camp. Do we know how far the village is from the orc camp?
'Scram' Ssslic the Weakling |
Scram observes the interaction between his and theirs. Their leader was more intelligent than most given for. He could be an useful ally or a deadly enemy. Grigg seemed to have healed Scratch and the Orcs were now playing host but the challenge.....it seemed that there is more to the challenge than expected. Indeed this orc was more than what his kind normally allowed.
The tribe was small though.
Clashing Boom-Boom |
Boom-Boom pats the hilt of one of his pistols, and reverses Kax's insinuation. "Me. But it is not good to kill ally unnecessarily. The 'clicks' and the 'booms' do not like prisoners. You should be our champion."
I don't know how to deal non-lethal with firearms! :P
GM Larkin |
The Cheiftan interjects
"Do not feel the need to fight, we do not need you to prove yourselves to us" behind the Chieftain Gugrog snorts.
Grigg the scarlet shamed |
"no harm in exploring i suppose."
He looks at some of the spiders, trying to identify them from previous ventures around the tribe cave
knowledge(nature): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
That done, he slows down his pace, taking light steps towards to the heart of the spiders.
stealth: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
GM Larkin |
There are 3 spiders that are about a foot long (30cm), everything else is smaller.
Do you want to continue approaching? Are you OK with crushing some of them?
Grigg the scarlet shamed |
lore leeper domain power(melee touch attack): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Grigg slows down, almost to a snail's pace.he attempts to squish as few of the spiders as possible, even if it means he'll take ages to reach his destination. He attempts to use a little finesse to get past them.
Arcobatics: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
GM Larkin |
The task is a difficult one and Grigg steps on more of the creatures than he wishes. Some of them leap on his legs to avoid being stepped on, but they're easily shook off. It's only when he's close to the mound that he feels the first bite
Wounds: 1d6 ⇒ 2 You are poisoned and must make a DC 11 fort save per turn. In order to keep an eye on that let's roll initiative. You are now 15 feet from the mound.
As you near the mound the three larger spiders stop and look at you, while the rest continue to scurry around
Grigg the scarlet shamed |
initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
fort save: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
Grigg starts to hum as he approaches the mound. He attempts to overcome the posion plaguing him
heal: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11
He pushes on.
GM Larkin |
When you move closer the larder spiders rear up and start to hiss, while most of the smaller ones scatter a horde of them remain on the mound.
@Yraalik - The chieftan is only suggesting a one to one unarmed combat to prove that his tribe are strong enough, not an all out battle between kobolds and orcs
Grigg the scarlet shamed |
Attempting to take 20 on perception if possible, total perception is 23.Grigg will not move while attempting this
GM Larkin |
Range Touch: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Range Touch: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Range Touch: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Confirm Crit: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
Grig takes 3 HP damage and is entangled. He needs to pass a DC 11 strength or escape artest test at the end of his turn to escape.
The swarm scurry forward and attack the kobold for damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2 and is poisoned again
Grigg the scarlet shamed |
strength: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13
fort save: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 14
Grigg surges forward despite. he mutters a prayer to kalinahat
"oh winged stranger.Grant me protection from those who so seek to harm me,and those i dare not lay hands on."
GM Larkin |
The swarm attacks again
Wounds: 1d6 ⇒ 1
The 3 larger spiders charge in at the Cleric
Attack 1: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Attack 2 flank: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13
Attack 3 flank: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
but none land any attacks.
Are you recording your HP on your profile
@Yraalik - Cool I just wanted to make sure we're on the same page
Grigg the scarlet shamed |
strength: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13
'Scram' Ssslic the Weakling |
Scram speaks up now.
"Is there a need to prove strength now? Have we not prove enough to each other against our foes? The Murdit tribe is strong though they be few. Few can match them!" playing up their obvious superiority.
"We too are strong though in different ways. In fact this is but a step. We shall need more allies. The Murdit tribe is strong and cunning, which other tribes are there?" Scram fishes around for information.
Diplomacy 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23
GM Larkin |
Grigg quickly throws aside the lightly heaped dirt and at the bottom of it finds a small pocket sized book. It is bound in black material and on the cover there is a white spider web where not all the lines connect.
I'll try to get a picture up for you tomorrow
The spiders attack again you take 1d6 ⇒ 2 hp damage from the swarm and are poisoned again
Attack 1: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12
Attack 2 flank: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Attack 3 flank: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
but none of them manage to get through your armour
Grigg the scarlet shamed |
channel positive energy: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 1) = 7
Taking the burst of energy from the healing, Grigg scurries off with the book in tow and his tail between his legs.Grigg will grab item as move action, channel energy ,then withdraw at the start of the next round
'Scram' Ssslic the Weakling |
"Sigh. First one to yield or knocked senseless?" he asks.
GM Larkin |
As Grig flees from the swarm they sting him twice more HP damage: 2d6 ⇒ (4, 4) = 8 And you are poisoned again DC 11 Fort
The larger spiders attack once more also
Attack 1: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12
Attack 2 Flanking: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Attack 3 Flanking: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
but Grigg gets lucky once more
"Indeed little Kobold, by those rules" Murdit nods "Though you will find that Gugrog never yields"
Grigg the scarlet shamed |
fort save: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (9) + 11 = 20
Grigg the scarlet shamed |
Grigg renters the camp, looking significantly more tired and scratched up as he is.
Clashing Boom-Boom |
Boom-Boom nods, "Well, we have our champion, you have yours. Lesee how the night's entertainment plays out, shall we?" As the words pass Ipreek's lips, he glances towards Griggs as he reenters the camp, and then in draconic sputters, "What? ...What? Where did you go?"
Grigg the scarlet shamed |
"To yonder caves brother Ipreek.I met with an unfortunate gathering of pests, but I'll be fine after a night of recovery."
Grigg chuckles and pats his wounds, winching slightly."I think i'll retire early tonight. I'm sure by our lord's grace you'll do fine without me."
Grigg wheezes and trudges off.As he leaves,he turns to Ipreek and mentions
"i'll be with the weasel or just sleeping on the cave floor, patching up.Wake me up if you need me for anything at all, though i doubt you will" Grigg is just rather tired and there is no trace of sarcasm in his voice
spontaeneous casting, converting rest of lvl 1 spells into clw.: 4d8 + 4 + 4 + 4 + 4 ⇒ (6, 1, 2, 4) + 4 + 4 + 4 + 4 = 29Grigg wipes his mouth with his hand and sets the chalice back into his robes.Content with his current state of health he cups the chalice with both hands and begins: "Oh stranger of bright darkness,I know not why you have chosen me,nor why you have granted me this gift, but i thank you for your divine watchful eye."With that done, grigg Retrieves his bedroll, and goes to sleep/
Clashing Boom-Boom |
Yeah, I was watching it go down just wondering what was going on! I see nothing! I'm at camp eating meat and hoping to see Kax get his face stomped on! I'm not seeing this unnervingly high number of spoilered post and seeing Grigg's HP go down! Nope! :)
Boom-Boom nods at the obvious flattery, still looking confused. "Alright, guess we're only scouting tonight anyway." Shrugging, Boom-Boom turns back to matters at hand.
GM Larkin |
"I had thought we would go out tonight, but if your healer is so unwell and your fighter is just about to become beaten until unconciousness... Perhaps you will be needing the rest!" the Chieftain comments on seeing Griggs condition.
Gugrog removes his weaponry and armour, strippinbg down to the waste. He is large even for an ork.
"Ready when my Chief say"
Murdit gestures to Kax
"Traditionally we fight without weapons or armour little warrior, but we will understand if you wish to keep the armour. Gugrog is intimidating!"
@Kax - After you have responded please roll iniative.
Kax |
Kax lifts his snout with pride and defiance. In the common tongue he says "I understands. Gugrog afraid of serious fight, Kax will not use weapons on his delicate hide."
Intimidate (with size penalty): 1d20 + 11 - 4 ⇒ (8) + 11 - 4 = 15
Initiative: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
GM Larkin |
The Orc champion laughs at Kax's words. As he does so the chieftan's signals to start and Gugrog's laugh turns into a bestial roar
Initiative: 1d20 ⇒ 16
The orc charges his foe, pure rage overflowing in his eyes
Enraged Charge: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (6) + 12 = 18
Unarmed Damage: 1d4 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8 non-lethal
Clashing Boom-Boom |
As the fight begins, Ipreek grins widely. After all, regardless of who won, he did! If Kax won, the glory and strength of the kobolds was proven, and Kax would prove himself reliable in the eventual destruction of these green pig-men. If Kax lost, it would be absolutely hilarious!
