Unbinding the Fetters - Disciples of Master Gond (Inactive)
Game Master Mark Sweetman

The path of those that aspired to be students is taking them to the Kingdom of the Impossible where they will engage in a tournament...

People:
Master Gond: an elderly human who runs the school. He enjoys tea.
Mtumbo: a tattooed Mwangi Tetori who specializes in grappling. Some have seen his tattoos move upon his skin.
Fangul: a scarred Ulfen who specializes in hitting hard.
The Harrower: a female half-elf, dexterous and lithe with a fond love of the Harrow deck.
Morthar: captain of the gnome and Halfling crew that manned the ship to the Isles of Jalmeray.
Houses of Perfection: Untwisting Iron, Unfolding Wind and Unblinking Flame.

Places:
Master Gond’s Monastery: nestled amidst the world’s edge mountains in Taldor
Isle of Jalmeray:
Ballenwood: a mythical town where men are ten feet tall, arms like tree-trunks and built of solid iron. To be the master of the pits of Ballenwood is a feat that few mortal men can claim…

Resources:
Chakras: one of Master Gond’s abilities is to unlock the chakras of initiates so that greater focus can be obtained. Must be focused for passive benefit, and can be expunged for an active reward.
Maneuvers: Initiates of Gond are taught to stretch their physical abilities beyond what should be possible. Once per combat, perform a maneuver with specific benefits.

The Tao of the Applicants:
Upon arriving the applicants were challenged and bested. Though this was the first of their trials, and they were subsequently tested in several ways. Awakening to an assault by first orcs and then a rogue Giant, it was here that the masterful art of the Orken Shield first saw the light of day.

Two were cast aside and two new applicants received before their path was altered. As Master Gond explained they were bound for the Isle of Jalmeray and The Challenges of Sky and Heaven. Travelling over the desert in magic wagons the group arrived in Sedeq and were sent to retrieve supplies.

Their attempt to purchase saffron and dyes was sidetracked by a pickpocket and the party found their way into a pit-fight as a means of earning enough money to fulfill the order. Torgus rejoiced and the party was triumphant, though he lamented the sad lack of wenches.

Eager to be underway the party boarded a ship bound for Jalmeray where the Bear met an old friend. They were beset by a derelict hulk manned by creatures of the deep and a creature of the deep. Deemed worthy now, the party was made privy to a fragment of Gond’s power.
