Any turn you use a 2H weapon you can't parry with anything besides the 2H weapon. The specific text:
During any turn in which a two-handed weapon is used, you may not parry with anything other than that weapon (even if a Shield is mounted on your arm
So you'd need to have a shield mated to the 120mm.
Kanoe' Yashida |
Hmmm... I don't realize that.. I think I agree... I'd rather have my parry.. I'll also take a 90mm Machine Cannon too...
If that's ok?
The Warlord |
Most towns in mongolia are not that big, so fighting will be mostly for the grunts as they quell any dissidents, but also there isn't a lot of hills it's mostly flat terrain or small rolling hills. While there are some arid areas it's not hard to navigate.
The route is were the majority of big towns or cities are.
Kanoe' Yashida |
Just making sure this is ok...

I have some technical questions.
My 120mm rifle has 20 shots. Do we have extra magazine or is that it until we resupply?
There is 246km between Naranbulag (drop point) and Songino (2nd city) At what speed is our supply chain moving? I'm asking because I wouldn't want us to move to fast and be stranded. Or the opposite, plan a destination that we can't reach in 10hrs of running time.
Oh and I can't wait for the first battle!
The Warlord |
Planning the distance you travel and what towns/cities you take is up to the players. You can stay in Naranbulag longer and aid the ground forces controlling by sheer show of force what is needed and possibly force the EFF to come fight you out of their defensive positions.
Expect minor oppoisiont. Mostly tanks, aircraft and guerrilla warfare infantry taking pot shots with anti-MS weaponry.
Not all battles will be inside your MS just so you know, so be prepared to skirmish outside of your MS.
Roldy Heson |
That would make sense. The level of resistance and our own accuracy while fighting would give us at least a way to judge how far and fast we want to move out. Nothing worst then fighting with a empty clip in your gun!
Kanoe' Yashida |
Opps Sorry... about the Sturm Fausts.. I though I have misunderstood you.. fixing it! It look like you were saying we could carry an additional two... no problem.
@ Katsuya - Yeah I think we should first set up our first resupply base.. then hit a couple of surrounding villages... and with I say hit I do not mean 'wipe' off the map I mean just to spread a little panic..0.0 body count among the civis if at all possible! Scare tactics.. put some holes in the roofs, cut power lines, bust some water mains, flip over a few vehicles.. mostly vandalism stuff that can be repairs but take time or specialized skills and material to fix .. like destroying the town main power-lines to the local power plant.. fixable but tedious to fix nothing that can be jury-rigged around.
Kanoe' does NOT like making war on civis.. but if we can force them to flee to the bigger cities for protection it will put a burden on the real defenders for resources.. which is what were seeking to occupy and deny them.
Zzed Fox |
It might be a good time to do our split up plan, send three MS's to the nearest smaller town, one off our intended path, and hit any infrastructure we can, while the other two help the grunts secure the town and dig in defensive positions.
Then move out and start hitting towns along our route.
Kanoe' Yashida |
I think a better course would be to have 2 MS go with troops to Zavkhan, Urgamal and then meet up in Songino... while 3 MS went on raids to Tsalgar, Khyargas, Turuun, then pressed on to Songino to establish the resupply base. Our mobilized support infantry will surveillance Tsagaankhairkhan {we will need the name of its commander and his/her rank~ Warlord}and will follow the path of the 3 MS but keep to the green planned route, staying mostly hidden and scouting and observing the actions of the fleeing refuges and the Mongolian emergency relief and military movements to find the best opportunities to introduce their military infiltrators to gain additional intel. When we ALL meet up on Songino we'll collect their intel and report it to Lt. Dhavana of our progress to continue on the next day's push east.
Welkin Katzuya |
Danm Kanoe' now you ruined what I've been thinking all morning on how we should attack this stage of the story.
My idea was along that line so I wont say anything for now, as it would just sound like a repeat.
At the very least I need to clear my head and think of a new post to make, I'll try to do within the hour.
Kanoe' Yashida |
LOL..opps sorry! :)
She is kinda of a type-A .."go out and get it person!"
Kanoe's insightful and bright.. just not a genius... even though she is a rookie for now. She has GREAT potential!
Kanoe' Yashida |
Er... I do have one question.. why does the 90mm a arguably smaller caliber ammo than the 120mm.. have less shots... by A LOT? 8M compared to 20...
Kanoe' Yashida |
Yes, that is indeed why Kanoe' choose that weapon and shield configuration.
Roldy Heson |
Don't worry in about a month or two you will receive new Zaku units :)
With my army of attack and scouting drones?
The more I think about it, the more I like the idea.Assuming eveything is game legal of course.
Zzed Fox |
Actually, you reversed my suggestion. My suggestion was two MS units help our grunts secure the first town we are all being dropped in, and that the other 3 do some raiding on towns that are off our beaten path to draw forces away from where we intend to go as a group. Kanoe got it mostly.
Kanoe' Yashida |
Actually yes, I think you are right about that... been awhile since I played mekton! I never put thrusters on something I did not intend to have sustained flight! :)
Kanoe' Yashida |
Got a question.. on the matter of personal character scale armor.. the Mekton Z Core rules has several sets but whats appropriate for GUNDAM?
Light Mesh = SP10, 0.2kg/Loc [1.0kg - Full suit '5' Loc: Torso, L/R Arm, L/R Leg]
Medium Mesh = SP12, 0.3kg/Loc [1.5kg - Full suit '5' Loc: Torso, L/R Arm, L/R Leg]
Full Utility Helmet, Light = SP20, 1.6kg - Head
Full Utility Helmet, Medium = SP23, 1.8kg - Head
+ Includes: H.U.D., anti-dazzle flash compensation, Commlink, Air Filter
Space Suits -
Standard Suit = SP5, 1.6kg [All Loc]
Military Suit = SP25, 7kg [All Loc]
+ Includes: Magnetic foot plates, radiation shielding, 3-hour life support, maneuver verniers {MA 6}, Helmet: H.U.D., anti-dazzle flash compensation, Commlink
I do not have a source for a thin suit in the Mekton Z rules... save in Starblade Battalion.. which does have 'thinsuits' but I don't have in my hot little hands right now as its in storage.
Kanoe' Yashida |
Hmmm... ok.. I found a photocopy of the relevant page from Starblade Battalion...
It lists -
Skinsuit = SP5 (Helmet SP10), 1.6kg
- Includes: 1/2-hour internal scrubber, Commlink {collar}, transponder
Vac-Suit = SP10 (Helmet SP15), 4.7kg
- '8-hour' life support
...up to you which set of stats you think is appropriate for Gundam. The Skinsuit in Starblade Battalion are more described as kinda like Evangellion's plug-suits... not quite Gundam Tech in my opinion.
But the 'Normal' suits seen in Gundam worn by the 'White Base' Crew are clearly different from the Pilot Vac-Suits worn by Amuro and Char ...or any other MS pilot for that matter!
The Warlord |
THe MS pilot uniform for zeon looks like this
Denim wears the standard color and pilot suit.
Gaia, Ortega, and Mash are aces so they have different colors.
You can say they are "Skin Tight"
Char... is Char he don't count.
Descriptions can be changed to suit Gundam, bu I think skinsuit is the most appropriate.

Question : Are we operating under the equivalent of the Geneva Convention and other International War Crimes rules? I had thought we were, but some of the posts in the thread seem to indicate those are either not being applied, or are being ignored.
Flaming the house where the RPG was fired from is fine, attacks came from it. Burning down all the buildings around it or lighting them up with automatic weapons isn't, as there may be noncombatant civilians.
Same with fleeing vehicles, unless they are marked military, or have obvious military personnel in them, then stomping them flat with an MS would be a violation of the Rules of War as they are likely to contain fleeing non-combatants.
Kanoe' Yashida |
As far as Kanoe is concerned if they are firing RPGS at us and not wearing a uniform or identifying themselves as any recognized military... then they are effectively 'enemy combatants'... and therefore Clearly terrorists... and they get what they deserve!
She has no intention of letting them rally on some other street to snipe at us again!
Kanoe' Yashida |
Yeah, I agree.... to be honest.... the reason why Kanoe charged in with a heat hawk and not a 90mm carbine in hand is because she did not like the tanks shelling any 2 story building .. but she could tell them to stop... so she moved in with a weapon that is more non-random hoping the tanks will stop shooting so they don't hit her.
The Warlord |
You are under some Geneva type convention regarding prisoners and humane treatment there of. No type of nuclear, biological, or weapons of mass destruction (like a colony or meteor drop).
While the tanks are doing questionable things they are toeing a fine line, it's up to the officer in charge to tell them to stop.
Welcome to some high drama and tension were spacenoid and earthnoid hate spills over in war, and both side will commit one or other atrocity, or force you to make hard choices.
The Warlord |
What's going in in the town is mainly one thing.
The feddies are going to use this as propaganda of Zeon shooting their hospitals and civilians, while in reality you are facing mostly soldiers among civilians and they using buildings that are off limits as firing plataforms.
This happens more often than not for propaganda purposes, and the feddies need it to bolster their morale and recruitment.
The Warlord |
Yes they are :) Now you got to ID the soldiers among the civilians also when you capture the place, which also brings up the problem. Is this in every town/city?
IF at some point someone thinks they can't do or something happens they feel uncomfortable please let me know and I will make it into a Hitchcock fade to black scene with no details or anything just left to the imagination kind of thing.
The Warlord |
In MS Gundam is the Antartic Conventions. Geneva Conventions only applies to Earthnoids, which is part of what started the war do to indiscriminate war crimes form the EFF against the colonies "Spacenoids".
At this time the "Laplace Box" is very much unknown, almost mythical in nature. Whi is like the letter f independence of all colonies that the EFF kept hidden.
Kanoe' Yashida |
I got no problem with the grit level of this game WAR is HELL... especially when soldiers behave like monsters~ THIS is WHY Kanoe' joined ZEON! Let it roll!
