Ali stripped the unconscious thug of all of his things. At least it is stated in Ali's first post after the fight he did. I have not seen a post to suggest he had given everything to Maria.
Ali stops for a moment, placing a hand on Maria's shoulder to stop her. "You do your sneak thing and go see what you can learn. We only have like 5 minutes here so be as fast as you can. I'll wait till you are gone then go for a chat. Sound good?"
Helgarr |
"This is a very valuable gift Father" - Helgarr again thanks the man, then turns to the her companions in agreement - "To the Glassworks it is then"
To the others present in the meeting, she adds - "This will be our first order of business, but in any case we won't be far in case our assistance becomes of urgent need" - then bows slightly - "With your leave" - and heads for the door.
---
Outside:
"Maria and Ali just left, pure and simple - I'm starting to wonder if the children understand the value of working as a team" - the woman growls - "In the Plateau, if one hunts alone he or she will quickly understand the value of trusting your brothers. If one survives" - she vents.
"Are we all ready to move to the Glassworks then? I'm not going to search for them all around Sandpoint" - she finishes while distributing the pots between herself, Furnok and Vandra.
Cleo, you want one of the pots? I can pass my own ;)
Also quick question - was any of the loot sold, gold divided? I don't believe it has happened yet, right?

probably not on the selling yet. We went from night of battle to morning of meetings. No time for selling in between. Cleo will accept one, if Helgarr will be offering. Can always pour it down other's lips if the need be. Thanks. And the halfling will follow the others to the glassworks.

Ali watches Maria out of sight, which is not very far, before nodding to himself and turning to Azeri.
"That girl just might be the death of us..."
Ali coughs softly, before calling out to the Halfling tending the garden. "Ma'am, may I have a word with you? I was with the Council and was asked to look in to the disappearance of the Lord. I have come to ask you some questions, if I may. And to take a quick walk through of the last place the Lord was seen. Can you help me?" Ali puts on his most convincing Government Official persona.

Cleo's right, no selling has been done. Now that Savah is out of the meetings, you're free to do some shopping if you wish. I figure though that everyone is most eager to get to the glassworks, still, you've got some money to spend!
Although the Kaijitsu manor doesn't look like much from the outside, its interior is a completely different story. Elegant hardwood lines the floors, while stunning paintings of a foreign design, usually depicting the sea, the sun, or what look to be warriors, turn the walls into an ever-changing story. Strange symbols can be seen along some of the door frames, each painted in black or red ink. Everything stands completely still, void of all motion.
The halfling lady lifts her wide brimmed hat to take a better look at who is speaking. Feeling a sense of urgency, the halfling quickly sets her tools aside and approaches the young man. "Yes sir, I'm on my way. How may I be of service?" she asks as she gives Ali and Azeri a good once-over.

A click later and the door swings open. Maria can easily tell that this is Longjiku's bedroom, as it smells like old people. The room itself contains dozens of gold, jade, and silver statues of different animals and dragons. Eerily, one of the statues is a cat that stares right at you with its large eyes. It's paw motions over it's shoulder, back and forth, back and forth. The bed itself is made out of darkwood, and the sheets are made out of silk. A fairly large darkwood desk can be seen on the opposite side from the bed. It it neatly sorted into quills, ink, notes, parchment, and the like.
Maria the Great |
She moves over to the desk examining it hoping something over there may tell her more despite her Minkaian language barrier.

As Maria steps into the bedroom, a sudden puff of white dust bursts all around her. As the dust settles on Maria, she feels incredibly tired, getting sleepier and sleepier until she collapses on the floor.
Ali, Maria has been in the house for a long time. You are beginning to worry.
Maria the Great |
Do I not get Reflex save to avoid trap?
DM TreasureFox |
At the Glassworks:
Although only 1 story tall, the Sandpoint Glassworks is an enormous stone building with large solid oak doors, and plenty of glass windows. The roof is slanted with several sky lights, and the south portion of the building contains a shopping area where the walls are made completely out of glass. All the windows are blocked by drawn purple curtains, and all of the doors are firmly shut. There seems to be absolutely no activity around the area, but smoke plumes from the easily audible furnace. There are several different entrances, two of which can be seen from where you stand. There is a shopping entrance to the south, and a employee/meeting entrance to the east.
Helgarr |
"Suggestions on where to head first?" - Helgarr inquires from her companions, taking a look around for tracks, but not very hopeful since this is probably a site with a lot of movement.

Ali glanced towards the Mansion before drowning softly. "Well, first of all ai would like you to take me on a walk through of the mansion. I need to see bedrooms, studies, anywhere the Lord could have been before he disappeared. And while we walk you can talk to us. Tell me, did the Lord seem off to you, before he disappeared? Was he spending time with any strange people or anything?"
DM TreasureFox |
"Yes sir, right away sir, this way." She says as she ushers Ali and Azeri into the manor. "No sir, Master Lonjiku seemed to be his usual self. Although he was suffering from a head injury at the time. We tried to find out what it was about, but he wouldn't say. The injury itself wasn't anything major, I checked myself, it was nothing more..."
Her voice trails off as they come across an open door with Maria's foot hanging out.
DM TreasureFox |
Helgarr takes a look for any interesting tracks, but unfortunately she can't make out much. There is a lot of foot traffic here, and so she only finds regular prints. (Humanoid footprints, horse hoof prints, wagons wheels, etc.). It seems that no one has entered the building recently.
Furnok tries the eastern door, which is labeled with the words "reception" on it. Unfortunately, the wooden door is firmly locked.
Alandrian Verium |
Ali steps forward and stares down in to the room at Maria, cursing inwardly. "An unwanted visitor. No doubt they heard about the Lord being missing and came here to have a look around for themselves. Well fear not I am here now and I will take her with me. I will see she is properly taken care of, believe you me. I'll have her standing before the Council in no time. Mister A, if you could pick up this person please, we really must be going. We have that other appointment to keep!"

"Oh my! Thank you very much, sir. It seems you've come in the nick of time! The master would have my head if he discovered this, so thank you very very much. I'm sorry that I don't have anything of value to you."
Alandrian Verium |
Azeri scoops up Maria gently, blocking her face from view as he drapes her over his shoulder. Ali stands there for a moment before frowning slightly. "I really must be going but before I do, can you show me where the Lord was last seen before he disappeared? I will take a quick look around before I leave!"
I was very careful not to outright lie. ;) Haha
DM TreasureFox |
"It would of been right here, sir. Well apart from actually exiting the manor. Be careful, this place is heavily trapped, as are many areas in the manor. Master Kaijitsu is extremely protective of his possessions, and there are places, such as this bedroom, where we are forbidden to clean. As for this bedroom, there is a sleeping trap that activates to anyone's presence unless they are the Master or his servants. Even his daughter is not allowed here. His possessions are trapped by magic as well, turning the culprit into multiple colors, and gluing the statue to their person. Lastly, the desk is trapped as well. It will incinerate everything inside the desk if someone tries to open it without the proper key, which is carried by the master at all times. We're told that if we set off any of these traps, that he will fire us and send us to Magnimar prison. He does not lie about this stuff."
Maria the Great |
o.0 Damn. I'm glad I had no intention of stealing anything. What were the disable checks for this stuff?
Alandrian Verium |
"Well then... In that case I suppose you should leave me here so as not to risk your job. There may be a clue here that I can find, but I would not want to possibly get you sent to jail. How about I close this door and do my investigation, then you may check me for valuables when I am leaving, to make sure I have not pilfered any of your Masters valuables. Seem reasonable?"
DM TreasureFox |
The sleep trap was DC 25 to spot and to disable. The trap on the statues are DC 27, and although the lock can be picked for DC 30, the trap itself is a literal incinerate spell. DC to spot and disable are really really high. Lonjiku is no wizard, but he has the money to hire one.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
"I'm sorry, sir, but this is just too dangerous for me and my fellow co-workers. Besides, the sleep trap reactivates on its own, and there is no way for you to bypass it. If you wish, I am willing to investigate the area for you, while you watch from the door. I should be able to look at any notes that he has ontop of his desk, but I can't get inside the desk. Is that reasonable?"
Alandrian Verium |
Ali nodded softly, before gesturing towards the room. "Most acceptable yes. I would appreciate that greatly. Please do continue!" Ali smiled pleasantly at the woman, indicating for her to proceed.
Cleo Gingerberry |
Shopping area then? Cleo shurgs and follows the others, assuming they'd not break down a door at this point.
DM TreasureFox |
As the halfling servant sorts through the documents, Ali can tell that she's making a big effort to place everything back to where it was before. "Hmm these are mainly business letters around the different areas for the glassworks, an import for a new chair from Magnimar, setting up a vacation in Absalom, oh! What's this?"
The halfling notices a crumpled and torn piece of parchment hiding under the bed, a short ways from a little wastebasket. She picks it up and examines it. "It's written in Minkaian... let's see... Something about Sandpoint... 2,000 Varisian sails or else... yes this is a threat of some sort... signed by... TSUTO???"

the Pixie's Kitten?!? LOL! comfort, that means they sell slippers right?
Nope. it means they deal in the business that Maria was likely to end up in had her talents not been discovered. Though much more respectable.
Vandra Geaux |
Thinking they might sell pets, Vandra walked towards the Pixie's Kitten before being pulled back by his mother-in-wallaby who was shaking her head frantically. She took his hand and pointed to the Bottled Solution. It would be a good place to get all the vials they had recovered earlier. Walking into the shop, hearing the flinging of a hell overhead, he called out, "Hello?"
Cleo Gingerberry |
Vandra didn't come with us to the glassworks?
Maria the Great |
Apparently he preferred to try and get a pet. And now I'm picturing him walking around town with a catgirl
