"I'd step back..." Ali mutters to Cleo just before Azeris body begins to flow and change, growing to almost 12 foot in height, the bearman growing to a large, terrifying creature.

"Nice face a%!#@*@!" Ali summons his power, pulling the runes for burning, melting and flight to his hand, collecting a pure ball of energy, before casting it at the face of the leader.

As the ball flies from Alis hand it changes, morphing from a golden globe of energy in to a green liquid that boiled and hissed, leaving a trail of noxious fumes, before splashing across the leaders eyes.

Ali has 0 ways to do nonleathal without getting himself shanked so... What's a little acid between friends? ;)

As Cleo distracts the mook, Volioker takes his chance to strike. "And take that you dirty cur!" A solid hit, but no real "Umph" to it.

Once again, the leader seems to be shaken, but even with Ali's acid attack he is not frightened. Focusing on Maria on the ground, he tries to feint his attack to make her expose a weakness, then strikes hard. Maria may make a DC 21 Sense Motive check to avoid the sneak attack. Success=8 damage. Failure=15 damage.

The first mook decides to let loose on the loudmouth dwarf, punching as fast as possible. Thankfully only one blow hits, as Cleo successfully distracted him. Volioker takes 8 damage!

The second mook makes a series of punches against Azeri, the first punch clearly misses, but the second one lands due to Azeri's increased size. Azeri takes 3 damage!

When Vandra casts his eerie blue spell, the leader is completely caught off guard. Sapping a portion of his strength, he curses "Damn magic users. You're next, and your pet too."

Meanwhile, Helgarr and Azeri continue to beat down upon the mook. It seems as though he is simply too nimble to be caught... well except for a good claw *bonk* across the arm. He seems to be quite battered and bruised, but how much more punishment could he really take?

Jeaux, I don't think you can make a prepared action to attack, and use total defense at the same time. I'm pretty sure they are both standard actions.

As Ali grabs Maria and drags her out of harms way, Furnok goes in for a deadly strike. Failings miserably, the falchion escapes Furnok's grip and whips like a boomerang into Volioker's wall. With a loud *THUNK* it chops into the wooden beam like an axe, and remains perfectly horizontal, reverberating from the sudden stop.

Meanwhile, Cleo hustles over past Maria. Judging her distance carefully, the young halfling channels divine power from Erastil. A refreshing sensation pours over Ali and Maria, restoring their wounds... er... scratches.

In the middle of Cleo's channel, Volioker tries to seize the moment to strike a solid blow into the already bruised mook. Frustrated, the old Dwarf yells "Blast it! Stay still damn you!"

Laughing as Furnok loses his falchion, the leader nimbly dodges around Jeaux's glaive. Coming in close, he tries to drive his sword into the Mother-in-Wallaby, only to be denied by her swift feet.

Meanwhile, the bruised mook complains to the leader "Boss! There's too many of em! We ain't gonna win this." To which the leader replies "You know what happens if you run! You damned coward, do your job and beat them down!"

So the bruised mook pushes onwards, unleashing a slightly panicked frenzy against Volioker, which catches the old Dwarf off guard. The powerful fists of the trained brute smash right into Volioker's chest, winding him. Volioker takes 11 damage!

At the same time, the other mook continues beating down against the giant Azeri. A full powered punch catches him in the chest, but the second punch merely bounced off the bear-man's hard skin. Azeri takes 8 damage!

Leader [8NL, 7L, -1Str, Shaken], Mook1 [15NL], Mook2 [6NL], Volioker [21]. I had accidentally put Azeri's damage on the first mook last round.

Realizing that this might not go well, Vandra decided to beef his defenses a little. Channeling some of his magical essence, his hand glowed a pale blue before touching himself on the forehead.

Jeaux moved a bit closer to the leader of the group and swung her glaive, hoping to end this fight.

Ah Vandra, tactically I was picturing you and Jeaux being side by side (that way she can protect you no matter where the leader attacks from). Since he was adjacent to her when he finished his turn, Jeaux would need to back up at least 5ft in order to attack him. I would also need a concentration check from you since you would also be within threat range. Feel free to change your actions as you see fit. This is the downside to Theater-of-the-Mind.

As Vandra begins to weave the protection spell around himself, the leader seizes the opportunity to attack. With a sudden whip of his sword, Vandra feels the blade slash right across his chest. At first he looks at his blood covered hands in shock, only to black out prone onto the dirt. Vandra takes 6 damage! (But he regains 2 from Cleo, see below)

In a sudden rage, Jeaux brings down her glaive on the man who attacked her son. The blade sinks right into his shoulder, and he grimaces with pain. There seems to be some serious fear in his eyes.

Both Helgarr and Azeri continue attacking the mooks, but they simply can't get a good clean strike in. Volioker clearly refuses to leave combat, as he seems ready to lay his life on the line. Changing his tactics slightly, he keeps the mook on his toes while giving Helgarr a better chance to hit. "Now Helgarr!" Helgarr gets a +2 to her next attack, due to Volioker's Aid Another

When Vandra falls to the ground, Cleo starts getting desperate. Although lamenting healing foes, she gets into range and channels her healing powers. Ali, Maria, Furnok, Vandra, Jeaux, and the Leader all regain 2hp.

Furnok takes a step back and unseathes his Lucerne Hammer. Ok, time to make new occupants of the graveyard. he lashes out at the leader, his training as a bounty hunter kicking in.

Just as the leader turns his back on his henchmen, Furnok steps back and draws his hammer. With a solid *CRACK* the hammer is brought down upon the leader in full force, and a sickening crunch is heard as the hammer firmly crushes into his skull.

Knowing that Maria is now stable, Ali moves around to Volioker. Summoning runes of protection, Ali gives Volioker a protective armor made of force. "Ey thanks lad! Let's finish em!"

The two mooks see their leader die and they try to book it out. However they both fail miserably in dodging any attacks.

Helgarr, Azeri, Jeaux, and Furnok can make an AoO against Mook1. Furnok can actually make 2 AoOs.

Jeaux was filled with a kind of rage she had not felt in years. Her son had nearly died, right in front of her, and she couldn't stop it. A fire blazed in her eyes. It was time for this wallaby to get serious.

When one of the underlings tried to run by her, she immediately lased out, hoping to catch him with the glaive her son had given her as a gift.

As the two mooks run away, Furnok and Azeri catch one with a massive swing. Struck right in the stomach, the brawler fall to the ground unconscious, still breathing heavily.

Although the second mook failed to dodge any strikes, his armor protected him from any damage. He runs off into the night, hopefully never to be seen again.

Combat is over. You have 1 dead leader, and 1 unconscious brawler. Unless you guys plan to fight some more, you can now level up. I'll discuss the process in the discussion thread.
