Cleo will bring up the rear, since she has no hope to catch the others. Someone has to keep an eye on the goblin bodies, you never know if any of them are playing possum. She'll plop down on a near by rock, getting out the remains of that biscuit.

Azeri turned to Cleo and smiled slightly, before beginning to stack the Goblins together, and rummage through their stuff.

"I'm too big and you are too little. A fine pair we make, and good company we will be!" He grinned at the Halfling woman. It is plain to see, as Azeri rifled through the Goblins gear, including the leaders, that he is frustrated about not being part of the chase, and nervous for Ali too.

As she runs Maria slings her bow over her shoulder and pulls out her goblin dagger while not saying a word, just grinning madly. Well, I finally got hit with my campaign tab not updating.

Feeling a little bad about letting him do all the heavy lifting, but resigned knowing he's probably much more capable at it, she gives him a clean rag and her water skin to help clean his bloody claws.

Well first off let's get the funnies out of the way, because just after Ali thinks "Come if I holler, right?", he immediately trips and falls into the entangled roots. They latch on to him and hold him flat against the road.

Dex Checks:

Vandra's Dex: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
Jeaux's Dex: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Jeaux gets a +2 bonus for having a 40ft. movement speed
Maria's Dex: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11

Vandra and Jeaux join the race at breakneck paces. Speeding through the woods, they catch up to Furnok without too much effort (Furnok suffers a -2 due to having 20 movement, heavier armor can have downfalls).

The race starts heading further uphill as the goblin dogs continue their frantic pace. Not nearly as frantic as the goblin, however, who CONTINUES to race faster than any goblin seen before. So fast is he, that he fully catches up with the goblin dogs and KEEPS ON GOING. Still he screams desperately for help.

Maria finds that she's having a hard time keeping up with these dogs, despite being bound and dragging a heavy object behind them. Though to be fair, normally they would have nearly double her speed. Helgarr however hits a root and falls arse over teakettle. As she recovers her breath and stands back up, she has time to notice that the leaves on the trees seem much darker than usual, and the air is thick with smoke. At that same moment, Vandra, Jeaux, and Furnok catch up to her.

"F%&! IT! I give up..." Ali struggles for a moment till he can extract his kunai from his belt. One knife in each hand, he begins to cut himself free.

"Azeri, get a fire going, we can have some tea!"

"We should really get after them..."

Not too long after Ali gets cut free, the roots finally begin to shrivel and recede back into the earth.

I love that spell, but damn it can be a double edged sword.

Vandra, it's not so much what you see, but what you hear that's interesting. You hear the sound of clanging metal in the general direction of where you're running. The clang happens roughly once per 2-3 seconds.

Anyone who keeps running, please make your Dex saves. Furnok has a -2, while Jeaux has a +2.

As the goblin dogs round a large tree, Maria summons a final burst of energy from within her. Charging with boundless determination, Maria sprints forward, quickly gaining on the goblin dogs. Just as she's about to reach out and grab hold however, she notices something roughly 100 ft. in front of her: At least two dozen goblins lying in wait. They all grin devilishly and one of them makes a slicing motion across his throat. Another goblin yells out and they all break cover and charge!

Utter chaos ensues as the party scrambles in the opposite direction, practically terrified in the face of the large number of goblins running after them. Great news for the slowpokes earlier: They're now in the lead! Especially Ali, who turns on a copper to flee. Azeri, however, must have tripped over that copper because he's taken a fall! When he stands back up, he's now in stride with Jeaux. Both Furnok and Helgarr get a big boost of motivation to hightail it out of there, but sadly Maria is now in the back.

The goblin chase reveals a half dozen riders on goblin dogs. All the goblins screech in delight, save the 3 that bite the dirt.

Azeri glances back over his shoulder, frowning as he runs with all of his might. He glances at Jeaux and at the rest, before speaking. "We aren't going to make it. Were all going to di..." He stopped running, pausing for a moment, scratching his head. "Huh..."

"See you tomorrow kid!" He sends to Ali, as he turns, and awaits the oncoming Goblins, ready to fight them to as much of a standstill as he can.

"OI GREENSKINS! I TASTE LIKE BABIES AND PUPPIES!"

Ready an action to attack the first Goblin dog that comes in range. I figure with luck I can take down maybe the lead two. Here's hoping...

Vandra huffs and puffs and blows through the foliage, trying his hardest to keep outrunning the pursuing goblins.

When she hears his declaration, pauses for a moment to give him a nod of respect before continuing on. 'I wish you luck, my friend,' she thinks to herself.
