I haven't finished updating my character sheet with the info about how each mythic bonus functions, but I don't need that to play (I'm only going to do it because GM said we have to)... I have a little bit of time today and am hoping that finishing those updates will be part of that time, but all my mechanics are already updated and im ready to start stabbing things in the face again whenever you are.

I also was not planning on ever sleeping in a dungeon... Elliomander's mechanics were built with dungeon-delving (and resource management) in mind.

edit: I guess, on further reflection, that's a slight exaggeration... I need to spend some money... I'll make sure that definitely gets done this afternoon.

Well, good to know that I can toss away my bedroll and blanket if the need arises then. At this level, I'll be hanging close to melee range still until I can get more spells online.

We're literally at the first room of the dungeon... Do you want to GMPC her all the way through? I mean, that's fine if you want to do that and see she shows up at some point, but if you're thinking about recruiting a replacement we could probably ret-con someone else having come in with us pretty easily... or just reboot the dungeon with a different third (I think you use an auto generator you could just re-run right?)

I'm just thinking the farther we get in the harder it would be to do anything like that...


Switching characters at the start of a dungeon would be the easiest way of going about it, yeah... XD; And I'd rather not reduce your survivability by having you lose one of your teammates. After all, you can't easily rest mid-dungeon...

I don't want to take Cyth's place but would be happy to make a character to assist you in this endeavor until his return.

I spoke with the GM and he requested that I bring it up to you and ask your permission.

I can't speak for Jason, but I have no objection to you helping run this dungeon in Cyth's place (possibly even treating it as a trial run for full time replacement depending on how it goes).

In terms of what we'd like to see class-wise... Resource management is very important in a setup like this... So I'd love to see a build intended to handle 10+ encounters without a rest. We also don't have any divine casting. Maybe something like brawler/shaman... You'd have full BAB, all good saves, hexes which are practically an unlimited resource, and divine casting; the only downside is that you only get 4 base skill points. hierophant (possibly dual pathed) would improve resource management even further because you could spend mythic points for extra spells.


Yeah, resource management is DEFINITELY something you want to be good at. I am fully in favor of that for all builds.

To be honest I had already thought about the Divine Casting and was tempted to try a Oracle of Battle/Ranger(not sure archtype) Saving the spells for healing and the like. Though, extra healing via cleric or liberal buying of wands would be good.

IMHO that's not a great combo... Several battle revelations are useless for you because you'll already have a full BAB and can't wear heavy armor (or else you lose all your combat style feats); all but 2 of the others have very limited daily uses, those 2 are pretty decent but it looks like there might be better options (like flame, maybe, a lot of those powers have more daily uses and then you'd have some AoE for things like swarms).

That said, I'm not interested in dictating other people's builds (just trying to provide some helpful advice), so if you want to try it out go ahead.

Most of Flames are a once daily until 5th I had seen. But you are right about swarms and it better being able to take those on.

Battle I was looking at for 4 of its Revelations.

Weapon Mastery -Extra feats are not bad
War Sight - Initiative is Initiative
Resiliency - Being able to stay standing to cast healing. (Surprisingly enough I have seen this come in handy alot)
Maneuver Mastery - Dont have to dip into combat expertise or such to gain the feats

Flame I do like for:

Molten skin: Most often used energy type
Cinder Dance: Extra movement is always nice and difficult terrain movement
Burning magic can be nice.

The rest are mostly different ways to use fire for dmg.

I guess i didn't really consider the value of Maneuver Master for bonus feats without the normal requirements... although by the time you get the second one at 11th most maneuvers will be on the tail end of their usefulness...

Like I said, if you like it go for it. My advice was intended to help you think about how your classes would synergize and how consistently effective you can be across 30+ rounds of combat without resting, but at the end of the day it has to be a character you like/want to play or else you're going to lose interest pretty quickly.

Hmmm... I don't know much about the divine side of the spellcasters but non-magic ranged damage would be a good way to preserve spells.


The new kineticist class is a nice way of having consistent ranged damage without having to worry about ammo. Of course, you'll have to decide if you want to go against normal AC (and be troubled by damage reduction) or touch AC (and be troubled by spell resistance), but both are workable options, especially when you can grab Expanded Element. It's one option, at least.

With and TeleKineticist it specifically states its blast is picking up objects and using them. If the object is of a special material would you allow it to by pass dr? I know if it was a weapon I couldn't add any magical bonus's or abilities but I ask because it didn't clarify for special materials.

It is an interesting combo when mixed with Oracle. Though my BAB will be Medium, and Skill points will be based on Oracle points. It does ensure I have good saves all around and is indeed a constant source of damage IF within 30 feet.

Con and Cha become my important stats since Con is for Kinetist

Okay, I got a chance to go back through it and read it and I am actually willing to give Kineticist a chance. Telekineticist specifically even without your ruling on the DR.

Though I do miss out on alot of the fun stuff for ranger if I want to fill the Divine role.

Now Oracle of Battle is looking a bit better for a fit.

Though Flame is nice.

Aasimar will be race. The resistances handle most issues with cold environments. If I take flame that will handle hot.


Telekinetic Blast doesn't benefit from special materials - not unless they errata it, anyway. Incidentally, I'm also fine with pretending it's just a wave of force visually (though it won't count as a force effect for any mechanical purposes). You'll generally be within 30 feet of your foes, so there's not much need to worry about things like Extended Range unless you try to draw enemies into the hallway. XD

Kinetic Blade is quite useful if you get into melee combat, by the way. There's not much choice in the early levels, and it may be worth nabbing.

Well reading in the description it specifically states you are picking up an object and throwing it. Which is why I asked. Because Later in the ability it calls out other things but never says doesn't count as special material for DR.

Telekinetic Blast (Sp): You throw whatever unattended object happens to be nearby at a single foe as a ranged attack. The object must weight 5 lbs. per kineticist level you possess or less. If you hit, the target and the thrown object each suffer an amount of bludgeoning, piercing, or slashing damage equal to 1d6+1 + your Constitution modifier. This damage increases by 1d6+1 for every 2 kineticist levels you possess beyond 1st. Spell resistance does not apply. Even if a telekineticist uses this power on a magic weapon or other unusual object, the attack does not use any of the magic weapon’s bonuses or effects and simply deals the telekineticist’s blast damage.

I do bypass DR/Magic though automatically.

All damage from a kinetic blast is treated as magic for the purpose of bypassing damage reduction.

Either way I think ill do Kineticist. Its worth a shot. Should be done shortly

You bolded the wrong parts.

"Even if a telekineticist uses this power on a magic weapon or other unusual object, the attack does not use any of the magic weapon’s bonuses or effects". Special materials count as an effect - and, incidentally, there's a modification for Metal Blasts that lets it be treated like different kinds of metals that can overcome DR.

Equivalent wealth is 3000 GP, Mythic Tier 1 is fine (since they just got that).
