Had an extra 36 hours on my trip after my flight home was cancelled, but I should be ready to move things forward soon. Let me know what you're doing/where you're going or I can get the ball rolling tonight.

And just to expand on the dynamite- I believe you guys used Streetwise to get some dynamite originally slated to clear rock for rail lines in Ethiopia. A lot of stuff is abstracted in Trail, but I think we'll get a little more specific for this one: you have enough dynamite for five bundles as per the rulebook's description or about 25 individual sticks. It's all packed tightly in a backpack with a lot of straw so that no accidents happen en route. Does that make sense?

Added the Trail system cheat sheet to the campaign info up top.

Male Human - Russian (Kulak) Archeologist - Religious Artifact Hunter / Stability 5/10, Health 10/10, Sanity 10/10

Since I see little way for Anatoly to survive this encounter with the stage prop from a warped Rolling Stones tour on acid... I'll make up another character this week to replace him... unless by some miraculous circumstance he survives this.

I debated on it a while and decided I couldn't let this great Georg Martin epic moment go.

That's how I would want my PC to go out in a Cthulhu campaign personally, I just wanted to make sure you knew there were other options rather than me railroading you into a conclusion.

I don't have my computer today, so I will write up the end result tomorrow morning.

Male Daytona 500 DM / 12

Perhaps the Knights of Malta are not as dead as it seems. Perhaps they have just went mostly underground... and now with the events at the long guarded temple, one in particular has decided it's time to do something about this growing threat. To step from the shadows into the light...

Thinking about making a Knight of Malta replacement character... suggestions???

A priest is a likely candidate, though as of 1937 the Knights of Malta are mostly a philanthropic organization on the island so a businessman, professor, doctor or politician is another likely choice. Even a military man could work for that.

Alternately, Janet could enlist some of Anatoly's sources of stability or colleagues back at Brown.

Health 12/12 | Sanity 6/8 | Stability 6/10

A cursory look through my list of hidden threads has revealed to me that, for whatever reason, this one has been hidden for some time. My apologies. :/

Still, now I can say say that that was one hell of a way to go, Anatoly. I honestly didn't expect it at all!

I suppose I should ask, should we assume Ralph left us at some point? He just sort of faded into the aether.

I sent Ralph's player a PM a little while ago- I think he's dropped out. I feel bad that I didn't have a ton for him to do. Eh, this game has managed to survive a lot of drop outs.

Male Daytona 500 DM / 12

I've almost finished my replacement character. Just need to finish up drives and sources of stability...

Male Human (Italian-American) Priest - Librarian; Stability 10/10, Health 10/10, Sanity 10/10

I present Dominic Pizzaro.

Looks pretty good, though by my count you have 15 investigative points spent rather than 16- maybe an extra point in Languages to bring it up to four? That way it squares with your known languages and the open slot you have remaining.

Male Human (Italian-American) Priest - Librarian; Stability 10/10, Health 10/10, Sanity 10/10

Hmmm. That's weird. I used their online character generator and it said 16... but yeah. Languages is good.

How would you like Dominic to be introduced? Did he track the investigators to Malta at Father Dudko's request and is waiting in the lobby of their hotel or does he get in contact when they're back stateside?

Male Human (Italian-American) Priest - Librarian; Stability 10/10, Health 10/10, Sanity 10/10

I covered that in my wonderful history, that the boards ate. He'll probably be waiting in the hotel in Malta. He was in Vatican City, and got a telegram from Father Dudko, stating that he was worried about Anatoly's soul, concerned with his choice of friends, and hadn't heard from him for a few days.

He asked Dominic if he could check up on him, since he was fairly close by. Father Dudko contacted Janet, and she gave him the location of where they were, and he was finally able to track them down to the hotel... where he anxiously awaits his reunion with his old friend Anatoly.

I'll probably be ok to update, but I am moving on Wednesday so it may be slow posting this coming week.

Health 12/12 | Sanity 6/8 | Stability 6/10

Almost definitely going to put some points into Preparedness. It would give Evelyn's "bag of holding" a bit more use ("Why, yes, I did remember to pack the blasting caps"). Any recommendations for other point expenditures?

As far as contacting our Sources go, as much as I like some good RP, it might help our momentum more to just skim past that part and get right into the next investigation.

I would say take a look for any Investigative abilities that aren't covered between everyone. After that, it doesn't hurt to have more in the commonly piggybacked skills like Stealth or Shadowing so that you can accompany the investigators that specialize in that. Gunfights are kind of rare, but they tend to draw on points more than any other contest besides Athletics or Fleeing.

Sanity 8/9 Stability 9/9 Health 12/12

Agreed with Evelyn on the Sources bit.

Not sure how much of a difference it will make since we've slowed down after Malta's conclusion, but I'll be on vacation from Sunday to Thursday this coming week. Phone data is expensive for me internationally but if I can get wifi I'll check in as I can.

Male Human (Italian-American) Priest - Librarian; Stability 10/10, Health 10/10, Sanity 10/10

Out of the country on business through Thursday, and Internet is spotty... so if I disappear for a few days don't fret. I'll be back.

Male(s) 27 Ducks in a James suit Duck 27/ Expert 5

Spreading the word- I've been considering running a 5th edition game using the latest Scarred Lands adventures. I have an interest check thread if you folks want to peruse.

Sanity 8/9 Stability 9/9 Health 12/12

So I realized that I never refreshed any of my ability pools since Malta. Should we have done that?

Male(s) 27 Ducks in a James suit Duck 27/ Expert 5

Yes, you should be fresh (besides Sanity and Stability if you lost more than what your Sources would heal).

Sanity 8/9 Stability 9/9 Health 12/12

Nice, thanks!

Male Human (Italian-American) Priest - Librarian; Stability 10/10, Health 10/10, Sanity 10/10

It appears that I am smack dab in the middle of the hunting grounds of an angry Air Elemental named Irma, so if communication stops for a while be aware that I'm probably hiding in a hole somewhere, but will pop my head back out when it's safe.

Male Human (Italian-American) Priest - Librarian; Stability 10/10, Health 10/10, Sanity 10/10

Two week business trip. Should be able to post most days, but might be spotty. Camping on 22nd through 26th, so AFK then.

Health 12/12 | Sanity 6/8 | Stability 6/10

Whoops. I guess this campaign is now about serving hard time in a Mexican prison. I'm sure Nyarlathotep will still be there when our sentences expire. ;P

Should have a post up soonish.

You know, a one-shot Call/Trail or Delta Green scenario in a Mexican prison could be pretty good.

On an unrelated note, I caved and got the Cthulhu City book and it's awesome.

Human Dilettante

I will also post soon. Joseph regrets pulling his gun, and now he will try to explain that.

Sanity 8/9 Stability 9/9 Health 12/12

Hey, sorry for the absence guys, I apparently got the plague earlier this week. I'll catch up asap.

Today is two years since the start of the game! Thanks for sticking with it!

Sanity 8/9 Stability 9/9 Health 12/12

Yay! Thanks for keeping it going for so long! It's been a blast to play. When we're done, I really want to get the book to read through it just to see what we missed. Also wouldn't mind running it for my home group in the future.

Out of curiosity- have any of you played/been playing the Strange Aeons AP?

Sanity 8/9 Stability 9/9 Health 12/12

I haven't. I was considering running it for my home group, but at the time we were doing Curse of Strahd and they didn't really want to do any more horror stuff after that.

Health 12/12 | Sanity 6/8 | Stability 6/10

Can’t say I have. I remember being really hyped when it was first announced, but it kind of fell off my radar.

I want to run it, but I don't think it will be my group's cup of tea and I'm wary of running Pathfinder again or converting it to 5E. But I love Hastur stuff and it looks awesome.

Health 12/12 | Sanity 6/8 | Stability 6/10

I love the idea of Lovecraftian elements, but to be entirely honest, I have yet to read any of the man's work. And I'm still uncertain of how they would work in a game like Pathfinder, which in a lot of ways enables murderhoboism.

I read part of a review for this book this morning (stopped when it started to get spoilery) and it seems really crazy. Does it seem like something that you could run or mostly a good read?

I think it's very usable either as a mirror Arkham to slip in and out of throughout the campaign or as a follow-up to a disastrous campaign where the bad guys win. Running it in concert with the Armitage Files campaign book seems like a great way to use it. I tend to find the Pelgrane books both easy to read and latch onto since they're layed out and organized well and to be pretty imaginative. If only my RL players liked horror games!

Sanity 8/9 Stability 9/9 Health 12/12

I feel your pain, my players have been a bit resistant lately to moving away from d20 based games.

Male Human (Italian-American) Priest - Librarian; Stability 10/10, Health 10/10, Sanity 10/10

BTW Dominick is still interested in the game, I'm just feeling him out, and trying to figure out how/where he fits in with the group, and how to play him. He is pretty good at being a face when influence is needed, but not so keen on lying and bluffing... and shootouts are new to him... so if I'm not posting a lot, it's me feeling things out, not a lack of interest.

Male Human (Italian-American) Priest - Librarian; Stability 10/10, Health 10/10, Sanity 10/10

It is with regret and sadness that I'm going to step away from these boards for a while. It's a combination of many things, and the frustration with the board performance just pushed me to do what needed doing. I've got some things that are taking a higher priority in life at the moment. It's been a real pleasure gaming with you all, and hopefully life will give an opportunity to share this hobby we all love in the future...

Very sorry to hear it, scranford. Stay in touch if/when you come back.

Had a stomach virus over thanksgiving so I may not be updating for a little while. Sorry!

Sanity 8/9 Stability 9/9 Health 12/12

For our post cards, I need a minute to figure out what I want to write. Is it okay if we keep on with the scene and I revisit that when I've sorted it out?

That's fine, I want to keep things rolling above all.

Human Dilettante

Hey guys, I'm going to take a break from the boards for a while. I know I haven't posted in a long time, and I apologize for that. I'll probably be able to post again in the new year.

Everyone still here?

Sanity 8/9 Stability 9/9 Health 12/12

Hey, sorry. RL and work have been super hectic these last couple of weeks and I haven't been able to make it on to the boards. This week is honestly not much better. I'll try to get caught up as soon as I can.
