You do not notice any non-goblin tracks from the main trail, there are so many overlapping footprints with the main group though that a prisoners tracks might have been stamped out from the passage of the goblins.
Warren is unable to spot anything but goblin footprints on the side trail either. These are spaced far enough apart that it seems unlikely a medium sized creature walking through the area would have had its tracks obscured by the goblins.
Irina Moretskya |
"Agreed, we shouldn't waste time on the small group. We can't leave that paladin in the hands of the goblins a moment longer than necessary. If we're too late..." she pauses grimly and shudders, "If we're too late, the goblins might become unbearably condescending and patronizing, and we cannot allow that to happen!"
Irina Moretskya |
Good luck getting Irina to buy that logic! :D The main hurdle Alma has with her is that the representative of the Mithral Rose to which she is acquainted was not a shining example, and if the order knew what she had done, she'd probably have been ousted. No doubt, she's gotten a warning or two of her own from on high. But as far as Irina knows, she was what a paladin is supposed to be.
TowerOfTheHeavens |
Fortunately the goblins are afraid of reading words, else they'd go about thumping their scriptures and crying repentance :)
Following the trail north you travel for a short time only before darkness and make camp.
Nestled inside a canyon you see two large statues of dwarves. Each has hands resting on the haft of a large battleaxe, the head of the axe resting on the ground in front of them. Between the two statues is an opening into the side of the mountain. You view rushes into the darkness and all is black. Soon a light begins shining in the distance, you are drawn to it. As you get closer to the light you see a man standing in the midst of it, or rather the light is emanating from the man. He is chained to some form of altar though, and black smoke boils forth from it, twisting around him, slowly squeezing out the light. It grows dimmer and dimmer as you watch. When the light is at last extinguished you awake with a start.
Soon you drift off to sleep again, and the dream repeats. And again a third time.
500 XP earned for the day, which should put everyone at 3150 XP I believe.
Irina is missing 4 HP, and has not used the cure hex on herself if you wish to do so before night. Alma is missing 7 HP.
I will be needing new initiative rolls from everyone. And 4 new perception rolls from everyone.
Alma |
If I am able to do my remaing 3 LoH before sleeping here goes.. if not.. then ignore.
LoH: 1d6 - 1 ⇒ (5) - 1 = 4
LoH: 1d6 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2
LoH: 1d6 - 1 ⇒ (5) - 1 = 4
that will put me at full.
init: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (19) - 1 = 18
Perception: 1d20 - 3 ⇒ (17) - 3 = 14
Perception: 1d20 - 3 ⇒ (13) - 3 = 10
Perception: 1d20 - 3 ⇒ (11) - 3 = 8
Perception: 1d20 - 3 ⇒ (4) - 3 = 1
Upon waking, and fixing some breakfast. I recall the dream to the group. "I have a feeling this may be the paladin I am seeing. And some kind of evil is tempting him to fall from all that is good. I feel we must seek him out, and hopefully he will be found in near the goblin encampment."
Determined, Alma eats quickly and readies his horse to begin as soon as possible.
TowerOfTheHeavens |
Warren's lit arrow reveals five goblins moving through the weeds heading south. With only a minor yelp of surprise they turn east and begin loping towards the camp, drawing short bows as they do.
The rest of the party is still asleep, Warren may act, the lighting is dim, those without low light vision will take a 20% chance to miss.
TowerOfTheHeavens |
Not sure if Markov had something come up in a real life again...
Init roll for Markov: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Alma, it is a move action to stand up from prone, then a move action to retrieve either your sword or your shield from the ground, unless Irina played a prank on you and hid them... ;). Going to assume you probably want your blade first.
Seeing Alma stand up the one of the goblins shouts out. "Dalhin ang isa walang nakasuot unang."
They continue rushing forward through the weeds and brush, drawing arrows to their bows as they do.
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 1
Critical Confirm: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 2
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15

Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19

Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 2
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Alma is nicked by multiple arrows, small rivulets of blood beginning where the arrows have touched him.
Markov grabs his crossbow and loads it, remaining prone for added protection from the arrows.
Party may act.
The dim lighting of the night time will give those without low light vision as 20% miss chance so long as a light source is not created.
Warren Enzroth |
Dropping his bow, Warren straps on his shield, recasting light on it and stepping forward I30.
Try not to kill them--We want at least one alive.
I think we should all take a rank in linguistics next level so we can speak in an unknown language. I don't like the idea of them knowing what we're doing.
Alma |
Yes, I will get up and and grab my sword. On my next move, I will grab my sword. I will charge to P26.
Upon reaching the goblin, Alma swings his long sword.
attack: 1d20 + 6 - 1 ⇒ (14) + 6 - 1 = 19
Damage: 1d8 + 3 - 1 ⇒ (6) + 3 - 1 = 8
Do I have my Loh's refreshed back up to 6 yet?
TowerOfTheHeavens |
Coordinates are fine, I was referring to your first sentance "Irons targets..."
Warren is wearing his armor since he was on watch. Alma presented himself as a nice standing target for arrows, is what was meant to be implied by target the unarmored one.
Perhaps, what they meant to say, is target the one who is ridiculously good looking. Alma gets that a lot.
They might have said that, but you are dependent on Irina for translating it.
Spells and LoH castings have not been refreshed yet.
Alma straps his shield onto his arm and crouches into a fighting stance.
Warrens now glowing shield sheds sufficient light that you can now plainly make out the front four goblins.
Will Save: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (17) - 1 = 16
The northern most goblin shrugs off Irina's hex as Irina stands up and takes a step backwards.
As they knock additional arrows Irina's standing up draws some of their attention.
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 1
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
For which she takes a minor wound.
Alma continues to draw most of their attention though.
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 3
Crit Confirm: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 1
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Party may act - map update later as usual

I'll allow the bluff check.
Markov takes a shot from his position in the weeds and brush.
Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
But the shot goes wide.
Shield in front of him Alma rushes up to the southern most goblin, striking it soundly with his blade in an upper cut. The goblin cries out in pain, taking a couple steps backwards on wobbly knees.
Sense Motive: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (13) - 1 = 12
Sense Motive: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (14) - 1 = 13
Sense Motive: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (9) - 1 = 8
The goblins squeak in fear, one of them exclaiming, "Tumma taikuutta."
All three, finding themselves now outnumbered, turn in fear, fleeing from the group.
Alma and Warren you may each take an AoO if you wish.
Party may act
TowerOfTheHeavens |
The two goblins lying on the ground near Irina cower, placing their overly large hands over their heads, and whimpering. The others continue running off into the darkness.
The southernmost goblin is moving slowly, gasping for breath, blood dripping from its wounds. A piteous sound of agony coming from its throat.
You could catch the southernmost one without a horse if you wish. The other two are moving more quickly and will soon vanish into the darkness if you don't have a means of tracking or catching up to them. The fight is basically over at this point though.
