Hydris has the Haunt Channeler Medium class feature.

Haunt Channeler:
At 3rd level, a medium can use his familiarity with spirits to assist him when dealing with haunts. He can always act on the surprise round against a haunt, and his touch funnels a portion of the haunt into himself, dealing 1d6 points of damage to the haunt per 2 medium levels he possesses as if via positive energy and allowing the medium to ask the haunt a single question. The haunt can answer the question however it chooses. Additionally, the medium can forgo his saving throw against a haunt’s effects to funnel the haunt entirely into himself. If he does so, the medium suffers the haunt’s full effect, but the haunt doesn’t affect anyone else (even if it normally would). The haunt then gains control of the medium’s body for 24 hours. Once per minute, the medium can attempt to end this possession early by succeeding at a Will save (DC = 20 + 1/2 the medium’s class level).

If the haunt is still active, and Hydris can funnel the haunt into himself he will do so and let the Haunt posess him to save everybody else from the negative levels.

Hydris pulls the haunt to himself and damages it, hearing an extremely deep bass voice saying "Sacrifices" in amongst loud laughter, sparing his companions its fury

"If this haunt is an indication of what we face, we would be best advised to withdraw while Hydris recovers. It may be that I should adjust the magic I have at my finger tips... that said, apart from Hydris we appear in good condition."

Hydris will take at least a few minutes to get himself in order, probably at least 15.

After resting a bit
"We should press on, even if we've dealt with the haunt for now, who knows when exactly it'll be back. I think somebody else should take point though."

My vote is to press on, even though I'm the one suffering.

Yeah, we need to rest for sure. We ALL took negative levels (that was touch AC to hit), and a couple of us took 4 levels. We're going to be pretty crippled without rest, and I don't think there will be any negative consequence to resting, except we all use an extra trail ration.

pieces of stone clutter the floor. An unrecognizable statue

With the whole map uncovered, I'm a little unclear about which room we are physically in, and have explored, at the moment..
