Arishat's javelin penetrates the darkness and Moghadam with equal ease as she refuses to bandy words with the wraith.

Raya on the other hand, recieves a courteous bow, as the Moghadam's blade deftly parries her own.

"Aye. Betrayed. My work and my genius betrayed by Him. I shall not sully my speech with his name."

Meanwhile, Barel blunders badly as his axe flails wildly through the darkness.

If I recall, dazed is -2, and Total Concealment, which Moghadam has due to blindness, is -5. So yeah, -7 total penalties. Must invest in gear to fix blindness and pitfalls...


Lanthair's attempt to kick Moghadam in the shins fails.

The wraith shifts slightly and swings his greatsword at Raya, Lureene, the shadowy assassin and the halfling.

"My work has been destroyed. My unlife no longer has meaning or purpose. You shall all join me in annhilation."

Neither Lynore nor her shadow self can make any impact on the wraith. Despite that, another noose of doom wraps itself around Moghadam.

Arishat's javelin makes no impact at all on the wraith, but Raya's words seem to hurt him as much as her radiant attack.

"Petty? You call the casual disposal of the service of a thousand years petty? I am not a used glove to be thrown aside. I am Moghadam, great architect of the vile one and I will have my vengeance. The walls cry out for it."

Moghadam leans forward slightly to get a better look at the wizard.

"We rebuilt, he and I. Rebuilt as of old and then, at the apex of my creation, he drained this place of all power. Left it a dry husk. I believe I have become a little unhinged since then. I dream only of vengeance. For that I need an army. You will lead it."

He swings his hammer at the thing again from where he stands.

One source of potential confusion is my reach. With the level up, I retrained thorn strike which has a defined reach 2. My guardian form grants me +1 melee reach, not just reach 2. So, unless I am reading this incorrectly, I should have reach 3 for this specific attack, and reach 2 for all others (since the rest are all just listed at "melee". Here is the text for the power. "Effect: You assume the guardian form of the oak sentinel until the end of the encounter. While you are in this form, your melee reach increases by 1. In addition, any enemy that hits you with a melee attack takes damage equal to your Strength modifier. This damage increases to twice your Strength modifier at 21st level."


@Barel - you're quite right. No damage to you. I had just miscounted and I'll amend the init order once Lanthair posts.

@Lanthair - yes, you can.

Damage 2d10 ⇒ (6, 5) = 11. I've really got to get out of this aura.

Enduring Champion 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (19) + 21 = 40 vs Fort. (I get a free save 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14.) Damage 2d10 + 26 ⇒ (3, 1) + 26 = 30.

Action point. Crane dance 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (7) + 21 = 28 vs Reflex. 2d8 + 28 ⇒ (5, 8) + 28 = 41 damage on a hit and he is knocked prone and weakened to EOMNT. (Included bonus from Arishat.) As part of that attack, I shift to F4.

If the second attack is a miss, it still deals 13 damage but does not knock him prone or weaken him, and I get 12 temp HP. I can still shift.

Here's hoping that second one hit, because dealing 71 damage would make me happy right now.

Also, the 21 damage I took at the start of my turn left me bloodied.

If it is a miss, Arishat can use Flexible Authority to add another +2 to the attack roll. I may spend that anyway if it hits. Or as a different Immediate Reation, Arishat will spend an Action Point for Felling Action which will allow another attack roll.
When you mention the bonus from Arishat, does that include from Resourceful Presence? 14 damage on a hit or 12 temp hit points if an attack misses after an AP.


28 missed Ref and +2 isn't quite enough to make it hit. I've moved Lanthair, but let me know what you decide to do before I deal with Moghadam.

Lanthair, don't forget to make your save at +3 from Arishat.

Felling Action, Arishat can spend an Action Point to allow another character to reroll an attack roll - in this case, Lanthair's Crane Dance against Moghadam. If the reroll hits, I'll use Flexible Authority, and Lanthair can recover 11 hit points.

I did include Resourceful Presence, and I got the +3 save bonus in the save I rolled as part of my enduring champion power. I do not have ongoing damage.

Also, no longer bloodied thanks to Arishat's healing.


With Arishat's help, Lanthair refocuses himself and kicks Moghadam's legs from under him. The wraith collapses to the ground. Breath cannot be knocked out of him, but he seems momentarily weaker.

"I have never thought much of halflings," he muses. "Now I see that this was an error. Nonetheless, first things first. My dear," he rises and bows to Raya, "your radiance will bind my army and lead us to glorious victory. Allow me to present your enlistment papers."

Darkness envelops the companions again as the wraith hides from the onslaught.

Darkness (Ref). Close Burst 5 (enemies). On hit enemies are blinded. Lasts to end Moghadam's next turn.

Thom grimaces as he realizes he had neglected to examine Moghadan using his Foe Stone. After that, he gives Lureene a look that speaks volumes...You WILL do my bidding...

Minor Action. Choose one creature you can see. You learn all the target’s vulnerabilities, as well as which of its defenses is lowest.
Standard action: Ranged 5; targets one creature; Intelligence 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (19) + 19 = 38 vs. Will; 1d10 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11 damage, and the target is dominated until the end of your next turn. Once a creature has been dominated, the target cannot be dominated by the succubus again this encounter.
Symbiosis: While the summoned succubus is present, each creature you hit with a basic or at-will attack takes a -4 penalty to attacks rolls made against you until the end of its next turn.


Thom's exploration indicates little in the way of weakness. Moghadam is, like many undead, vulnerable to radiant damage, but can be neither poisoned nor diseased. The power of death is greatly lessened in him.

Fort is weakest defense. Resist 20 necro, vul 10 radiant.

Lureene casts a melting look at the wraith and plunges back into the darkness. This time there is no gainsaying her and Thom's enthusiasm for his girlfriend becomes much more understandable.

Where is she exactly? The attack hits and Moghadam is dominated, but if she's in the aura she'll still take the damage.
