Human

The nice thing about this rather tricky battle is that it's bringing home to me just how powerful you all are.

Apologies for flitting by so late. It's been raining heavily which tends to stuff up my internet connection for some reason.

*stokes the campfire late at night*

*looks at all the threads*

Been pretty quite of late....too quiet.

91/111hp Dark Reckoner Warlock

I think the rain might have gotten in her net? There was a lot of thunder up her way and some flooding?

The Exchange

M

My thoughts as well, since there's been no activity here nor on Rev's blog.

Silver Crusade

Male Celestial Cleric of Myself 10/Radiant Servant of Me 10

Yes, I've heard there has been some power/communications troubles across the pond.

91/111hp Dark Reckoner Warlock

Rev lives just up the road from me and there was heavy rain Thur, Fri & Sunday. Hopefully it's just a minor issue (or she's just having too much fun.)

Nearby in Todmorden (awesome name btw) there was heavy flash-floods of 1-2 feet flowing through peoples living rooms :o

Female Tiefling Warlord/Infernal Strategist 18

There're a flood warnings in North Yorkyshire, so I think it's quite possible that she's got problems.

Edit: Huh. Todmorden. We've got proper names round here, like Fylford Flavell, Chipping Norton, Wyre Piddle, and other proper Anglo-Saxon names.

Couldn't see anything for Richmond on bbc web-site. Fortunately Harrogate is flat but high ground.

And to think I live near boring old Fort Wayne, Indianapolis and Ladoga...

Correct. Not sure if it was the floods or just having four foot thick stone walls, but internet got knocked out for several days.

Now back, operational and catching up.

Female Tiefling Warlord/Infernal Strategist 18

Well, that didn't work as well as I hoped. Intimidate to force a surrender, indeed.

Silver Crusade

Female Human 18 Paladin/Heartwarder

Sadly that's nearly impossible. Beat a Will Defense +10 for being hostile? That's probably in the 40s!

Human

Not that bad, but it is high.

91/111hp Dark Reckoner Warlock

Dabbleboard was not loading from about 10pm last night, FYI.

Silver Crusade

Female Human 18 Paladin/Heartwarder

Considering, even if I had Intimidate trained, it'd be +17, and my lowest defense is 25+10 for hostile. +i'll guess I'd need an 18+ to do it, 21+ since its not trained.

91/111hp Dark Reckoner Warlock

Circumstance boni? For destroying all enemies, RP, for being bloodied.

All of these could lower the DC, I know I'd surrender if you all died and I was bloodied ;p

Female Tiefling Warlord/Infernal Strategist 18

Arishat has +21 on Intimidate. A roll higher than 7 would help, of course.

That's partly why I wasn't too disappointed. An attack would have missed, if I'd done one instead, given the roll.

Silver Crusade

Female Human 18 Paladin/Heartwarder

And this is why so many fights are to the death. The enemy can't be intimidated easily, and PCs generally will never allow themselves to be captured

91/111hp Dark Reckoner Warlock

James can get a bonus +5 to either bluff/intimidate/diplomacy. But his Intimidate is only +14, the other two are 5 higher....

Intimidate doesn't get the girls (or the guys) ;p

No seriously, he prefers to actually charm people not scare them.

Human

I am giving you a circumstance bonus, but it wasn't quite good enough. You're welcome to try again of course.

I've been flooded, by the way. Ground floor v wet indeed and on towel duty, so a tad distracted.

Silver Crusade

Male Celestial Cleric of Myself 10/Radiant Servant of Me 10

Yikes. I hope you get a break from all that water, Rev.

91/111hp Dark Reckoner Warlock

They taunted us with the high pressure zone across the Atlantic on the weather last night. :(

91/111hp Dark Reckoner Warlock

Dabbleboards back, but so is the unceasing rain.

The Exchange

M

nice damage there James, but I think you used that minor for no reason then. Too bad, that crit for intimidate would've done the job. Still probably did the job though.

I am now debating on whether or not Raya is horrified.

91/111hp Dark Reckoner Warlock

I know both minors are probably wasted, but hey-ho. I was even thinking of using an AP for an intimidation check although with the battle now probably having a certain conclusion....

Human

Yup. James "Angel-foe" Durham Fairfax has wiped out an angel with 68 up the nose. If they have noses.

Circumstance bonus has gone up as well for the last dude.

91/111hp Dark Reckoner Warlock

And that's with potential curse damage going to the other one (but it missed). Whoops.

The Exchange

M

Is there a 'ready to disrupt spellcaster' move in 4E or is that not a thing anymore?

That's "being in his face so you get the OA when he casts a ranged or area attack"

The Exchange

M

which is generally resolved by 'he shifts THEN...'

Human

Just put Lyan next to him and he shifts nowhere at all.

The Exchange

M

Indeed! Lodestone Lure is pretty darn nice I must say. i've often wondered what fun a psychic character would be. I see one reason why Battlemind seems useful (even without Lightning Rush)

Psion looks interesting too...

91/111hp Dark Reckoner Warlock

Yeah, I know I shouldn't be name dropping but I am trying to get information out of XXXXX. It won't give us information directly, and if we end up letting it go (which we will unless we know it comes from an evil source) then James is trying to sow disharmony.

If anyone wants to jump in before he says A******* feel free...

Silver Crusade

Female Human 18 Paladin/Heartwarder

Just keep in mind James, the other team isn't where we are

91/111hp Dark Reckoner Warlock

Edited to keep the names of the parties secret. Thanks for that.

The Exchange

M

I'm enjoying the dynamic between James and Thom. It just shows exactly how different the two are....and why Raya will never be swayed from Thom's gentle heart....or something.

91/111hp Dark Reckoner Warlock

Looks up thread,.... that wasn't me swearing, honest.

Zerombr, yeah I am having a lot of fun with James so far.

Female Tiefling Warlord/Infernal Strategist 18

And here I thought Raya was sweet on me, and just didn't know how to show it. My heart is broken.

91/111hp Dark Reckoner Warlock

Condolence hugs? *wink*

Female Tiefling Warlord/Infernal Strategist 18

As Sir James' ribs start to crack, he realises the disadvantages of hugging the ridiculously strong tiefling warlord. She can hug back.

91/111hp Dark Reckoner Warlock

Totally worth it :P

91/111hp Dark Reckoner Warlock

James screams as the party is split and he is devoured by a giant racoon.

Silver Crusade

Female Human 18 Paladin/Heartwarder

Try to give it indigestion!

Female Tiefling Warlord/Infernal Strategist 18

Fun fact. The game thread is blocked at my local library - The Hive - as being inappropriate for users.

Silver Crusade

Female Human 18 Paladin/Heartwarder

Odd, maybe all the boogily oogily words in there are filtered. Point is that Thom deciphered how to get in the grate, by taking a piece of candy, and stomping on the grate. So far, Thom, James and Raya have ventured into the sewer

91/111hp Dark Reckoner Warlock

James thinks 'I must tone it down then...' Then smiles; 'Or I could....'

Whatever enticing feelings Raya may have for Arishat, they will stay where they are, repressed and buried in a coffin of self-loathing and confusion.

You see...this is why Thom has a succubus GF. She takes care of his...needs and he provides her with...affection, he he

The Exchange

M

and it gives him a save versus disease bonus!

91/111hp Dark Reckoner Warlock

Ahhh....good point. But we also don't know what devil/demon was in Arishats' blood-line ;)

Although judging from her crushing hugs something strong.
