Silver Crusade

Female Human 18 Paladin/Heartwarder

I know Raya does. I may have to do a background post for her too, though I do mine a bit differently than most. it's fun though!

"I always felt there needed to be an element of tragedy in every hero's story" - The Joker

Silver Crusade

Female Human 18 Paladin/Heartwarder

As much as I'd love to think that quote mine, I had some help with it...

91/111hp Dark Reckoner Warlock

I remember reading Don's background, that was really well done. Gave a perfect insight into his past and tugged the heart-strings (although I am an old softie).

So you read Rev's games too eh? heh, its a fun way to pass the time.

Yep, I end up reading way too many threads.

91/111hp Dark Reckoner Warlock

I believe I have now finally finished with James character. The alchemical items are back at his lodgings along with the bulk of his cash.

Temp HP from bedroll 1d8 ⇒ 5

ahh organic character meetups, how clumsy they can be.

we need like, an obligatory bandit fight or something so we can go "I thought you were an NPC!" and you can go "Nope, PC." as you dust off your shoulder.

91/111hp Dark Reckoner Warlock

Very interesting how this has gone & James isn't quite how I thought he would be.

Rev Rosey:
If they end up going to see Lu without James, he will use 'Eyes of the Warlock' level 16 Utility power, to see through Thom's eyes duringt the meeting. It does only have a 10 range & says (save ends) but that might be only if James uses a power through his eyes (also there are probably may ways of stopping it, but its 'invisible' to the rest of the group) Going for my sunday game @6 be back @11.

"Whom would dare say otherwise? I am sure they would feel your cutting...tongue."

Human

Back. Internet connection went funky on me and decided I was not worthy. Or something.

Qadira

M

good timing then at least heh

91/111hp Dark Reckoner Warlock

Sorry, wasn't trying to exclude anyone Lanthair, or take charge. Just thought it best to keep an eye on any possible escape route, if Lu runs.

Silver Crusade

Female Human 18 Paladin/Heartwarder

I can just see Lanthair getting teased by his kin, calling him 'Mr. Grumpy drawers' or something. I've always felt he's just not been comfortable in his skin.

Male Halfling Monk 18 / Ghostwalker

Lanthair has done surveillance before. He's not the most sociable halfling.

As long as Barel doesn't try to get him drinking. Lanthair has no patience for self-medication. Which might turn out to be interesting.

Qadira

M

given what I know of James now, what with the picture, attitude and the sunglasses equivalents, I can only see John Morrison.

Qadira

M

does anyone here play Exalted? I've been interested in seeing how that plays, so if there are any links you guys know of to a PbP game, or even one recruiting, let me know! thanks!

Human

Don't know it at all, except by name. I have seen it crop up occasionally on the recruitment forum though, so you might try and raise a group that way.

91/111hp Dark Reckoner Warlock

Exactly, just about created a character for a RL game (see DSX's profile). But I have seen only a couple on the boards in the last few years.

John Morrison or Jim Morrison?

I was thinking Jim Morrison, meself, he he.

Qadira

M

yes, the pro wrestler, John Morrison. the profile pic and all that just comes together, granted James prolly isn't that buff...

Shocked he (& Melina) hasn't gone to TNA yet, although he did a commercial with Jessica Alba (so that's probably better artistically).

Qadira

Rev or Tombs 2:

Do angels and demons still have the neat ability that they don't technically die if killed on the Material Plane? If I recall, it used to be that to really slay a demon/devil you have to be on their home plane.

91/111hp Dark Reckoner Warlock

Darn my first roll & a miss :(

Human
Zerombr wrote:
** spoiler omitted **

Depends on the demon, devil or angel. In my head that's still true of the more powerful ones. Of course, in order to finish a major immortal of any kind, you'd have to go on some sort of uber-quest. You can't just vanquish Demogorgon with a sword.

Female Tiefling Warlord/Infernal Strategist 18

I wouldn't worry, Sir James. We're all equally incompetent here.

Silver Crusade

Female Human 18 Paladin/Heartwarder

Now that you have it out of the way, your other attacks are sure to hit!

:I

Human

Incompetence includes your DM. I have a nasty habit of rolling rather badly for my monsters.

Silver Crusade

Female Human 18 Paladin/Heartwarder

I really didn't want to have a preachy Paladin, I REALLY didn't want to play a Paladin that gave ethical lectures, but what just happened....I dunno if I can NOT do something after this fight.

I guess that is depending on who these guys work for...

Human

They won't tell you, that's for sure. They don't share secrets. It would be against their oath. That in itself may give you a clue.

Silver Crusade

Female Human 18 Paladin/Heartwarder

Indeed it does, and it'd explain a few other things, now all we need is ole girl to figure that out IC.

91/111hp Dark Reckoner Warlock

It'll be interesting adding extra relationships to the group, better to have some RP focus then less.

And it'll add to any relationship between the group.

91/111hp Dark Reckoner Warlock

Stupid Question time - I take it (obviously) that the Darkspiral Aura, is not a 'Necrotic Power' even if it is a Necrotic/Psychic ability. And also that my 'Curse Power' that does Necrotic damage is also not a Necrotic power.

I think Barel also needs a save Vs. Weakened.

Qadira

M

I think since it is a 'booster' that it does whatever damage the standard attack does.

91/111hp Dark Reckoner Warlock

Well, the Darkspiral is an immediate interrupt - but I would tend to agree. Just making sure.

Human

Both Darkspiral and Curse deliver untyped damge.

91/111hp Dark Reckoner Warlock

Unless it was errata'd the FR book says Darkspiral does 1d6 necrotic & psychic (going to 1d10 in James case). And the Dark-Warlock Paragon path allows James an extra 1d6 Necrotic damage on a curse.

Again I don't expect either would have any extra damage from the Dark Fury Feat or Deathbone Rod but, just checking.

Human

Ah, yes. I do believe you're right. My mistake.

Just note what damage types you're dealing when you deal them then. A pain, I know, but there are resistances and whatnot all over the place. None that are likely to be relevant to you in this particular fight.

I'll try to remember, but you're all rather fancy now and stuff does slip past me.

Qadira

91/111hp Dark Reckoner Warlock

"Mwahahaha, I killed them all. And I'll do it again." James cackles.

Qadira

M

having not read the story yet, I am curious, is this the same James from that game or no?

91/111hp Dark Reckoner Warlock

Different that is based on the card game 'Werewolf', where 1-2 people chosen at random are werewolves (in James case an assassin). Then every 3 days real time the group vote for someone to be lynched & the assassins secretly vote to kill another player.

That James was based upon 'Flashman', as the 1st game I tried to create a nasty character. Although he became nicer, and every though he was memorable. Unfortunately the game is quite tense, but a lot of fun.

Currently, we have a new game going on, HERE. The next one will probably start in 5-6 weeks, we only just started this game. And we try to get as many players as possible.

Qadira

M

Flashman reminds me a bit of Ciaphas Cain. Amusing concept.

Silver Crusade

Female Human 18 Paladin/Heartwarder

"My story, you ask? Well if you insist..."

Background:

Listen to this, please

The scene is a small dirt farm in nowhere in particular...

"Mother! Help! It's Solan"

"Careless boy, what'd you to do yourself"

"I was supposed to watch him, to watch you..."

A poorly lit bedroom, with a stool beside the bed.

"A coma....What does it mean? He is alive but naught? Why torment us so? Would that I throttle the Raven Queen herself for this."

A city slum, with a silhouette of a girl on her knees, a shining figure before her.

"I just don't want to hurt anymore, such illness, so many problems. I am lost here, is this truly my life?"

"Who are you?..."

"Destiny...it is a foolish thing to believe in, only the rich get such luxury."

A training camp, filled with wooden dummies

"It's too hard! I cannot endure. I give. Was stupid for me to even try."

"Why? Why even bother? No one cares about the plight of others, of people like me, Why do you even persist? Why suffer so?"

"So others don't have to."

A battlefield, soaked in rain, lightning in the sky, and a monsterous shadow of a knight.

"Kill me then! I won't let you harm another, monster. I will die as I live, defending the weak."

"Why...why does he not slay me? Hawthorne..."

Female Tiefling Warlord/Infernal Strategist 18

Ah, so that's the trick. All those Inspiring Words getting results below average, and then I threaten Thom with a spanking and he responds well. Now, I just need to know everyone else's secret switches.

"Raya, dear, there's some candy if you don't die."

Silver Crusade

Female Human 18 Paladin/Heartwarder

hrmm, well that changes my course of action...

Female Tiefling Warlord/Infernal Strategist 18

Drat. I should have looked at the initiative order. Would have been a lot better to give the Adaptive Stratagem bonus to Raya.

Silver Crusade

Female Human 18 Paladin/Heartwarder

I got done what I needed anyway, whew what a big turn!

It certainly helps the team more than fully healing Thom.
