M Hobgoblin Battlemind/Quicksilver Demon 17 (Foe Killer)
My lady needs a day out, so I'll be AFK today, possibly into tomorrow. I am somewhat interrupt-based, but since Rev's monsters rarely violate marks, it doesn't come up much :).
I'm so used to playing Palladium, that your comment made me laugh. I'm so used to games where magic weapons are extremely rare! and here 85K is chump change. :D
Will fight horrible chaos monsters for food and shelter! Runequest is also good for a tight economy game.
The D&D economy is a bit Extreme. Although I've also played Traveller, and 85000 every month isn't enough to pay the mortgage on my spaceship. And Pendragon, where my knight is in real trouble if he has to ransom his horse and armour after losing in a tournament.
heh, and yet 4E is still better off than the christmas tree effect of 3.5. Sure some of these items are nice, and add, but not nearly as necessary. Gaining an extra 3 points to my Lay on Hands is nice, but its just a small edge. As opposed to +5 armor, +5 shield, +5 amulet of natural armor, +5 cloak of resistance, and ring of protection +5

Running a PbP takes less time than you think. The prep is spread out over a long time, since most groups barely manage one encounter per week, or even every two weeks. As long as you can commit to posting, it's not bad.
That's very true. Monster updates can take ages (well, mine quite often do), but as Celestial says, you can spread the workload. The main thing is to keep checking in and being prepared to nudge things along if necessary.
Endorsing Rev's nudge part, especially. The waiting game -- everybody waiting on somebody else -- kills PBPs. I believe the GM has the responsibility to push, even in combat. If the GM has delays, that's ok as long as notice is posted, but if the whole game is silent for four of five days with no warning, the players will drift away.
Zero - just to add to the information about PbP adventures. You'll be seeing an awful lot of whatever it is. Pick something you like enough to be staring it in the face in six months time.
a good point indeed. However I also have only one module to work with, but I've been looking it over, to see if I can get into the concept, as you said.
Excellent. Bundle over to the Group 1 thread whenever you like.
Just to bring the rest of Group 1 up to speed, Zero has volunteered to run Akemi. He's already played through this section of the adventure with his own character, but I'm confident it will work out very differently with this group.
Hmmmm, do you have to be a hybrid to get an at-will from another class? I've been reading the Spellgard campaigns, (on the 2nd one btw), and found Riposte Strike is pretty nice for a defender. Now granted Raya doesn't have the Dex for it, but it does sound pretty good for a Defender.
You can get most at-wills as a multiclass power one way or another, but as an encounter for you. If you want somebody else's at-will as an at-will, yeah, hybrid.
Howdy! I've been looking for a 4E game for a while, and Zerombr directed me this way. I've talked to Rev Rosy, and I guess I'll be joining you guys with a level 16 monk when possible.
Said character is still under construction, but not for too much longer.
ReconstructorFleet will be your new Group 1 striker. It's not the optimal moment to work him in, but I'm trying to find a way. Zero has taken over Akemi until we can get sorted.
I don't know what there is in 4e that helps with planar travel. Endure Elements could be useful, depending on what environments we might end up in. I don't imagine divinations being especially useful against an enemy like Acererak. I remember a DDI article a couple of months nack had some I thought were rather nice; I'll try and look it up.
Fantastic Recouperation seemed to be pretty nifty, and we've already got Heroes' Succor, in terms of combat, are there any rituals that give buffs or make healing afterwards easier? Oh, how about Remove Disease?
