Holiday Hours
For those who might not know, USA Thanksgiving is this Thursday, November 22. I’m heading out of town, so I will not be posting on Thursday, Nov 22 or Friday, Nov 23. Everything should return to normal on Saturday, Nov 24.
If anybody else is traveling and/or celebrating, please be safe, and enjoy the holiday.
| Leon Ravencourt |
| HP 27/34, AC 20/24, F +8, R +5, W +6, +9 Perception, Punish 1/1 |
|
24 gp, 3 pp, and a single citrine (50 gp) (totals 104 gold)
Two healer’s kits
Vial of antitoxin x3
Vial of antiplague x3
Vial of soothe syrup x2
Bloodblock x3 doses
Smelling salt x2 doses
Potion of cure light wounds x4
Any thoughts on who gets what?
| Firavel Mandorellian |
| Male Elf Rogue 4 [HP 31/31 || AC 19, T 15, FF 15 || F +2, R +8, W +1 (+3)] {Effects: None} |
|
Having just been hit hard by poison in another game, so I think I'll snag one of the antitoxin's and antiplague's.
EDIT: I just realized Fir already has one each of those. Someone else should have these ones instead. Can be quite useful, particularly against a CON poison.
Firavel already has 2 CLW potions, so perhaps spread them to those who have less. Sometimes it's good to have a potion or two on hand in case of emergency.

I'll take a few things. Minus the stuff I took and Lysa's healing kit, here's what's left.
1 healer’s kit
Vial of antitoxin x2
Vial of antiplague x2
Vial of soothe syrup
Bloodblock x3 doses
Smelling salt
Potion of cure light wounds x3
I recommend the Bloodblock go to Lysa since they give bonuses to heal checks and she's the one most likely to be making those.
I put the 104 gp into a "party fund" that we can pull/divide from later.

Leon and Sethis should both take a cure light wounds potion. Also Leon and Mithias should take two each of the Holy water Vials.
Mithias, I checked over your character sheet and saw that you could make your own healing potions so I figured it would be better for those of us without that ability or too a fair amount of healing potions to have a higher priority to gain a means to heal ourselves.
That ought to do it for our current load out of party equipment.

Oh I thought we were just heading back after a night of rest. So unless somebody else has something they need to do, we head back. Jean will grab his climbing gear and lead the way down. Grappling hook w/ a 50 foot rope to climb down.

Well, the highest roll in the last spoiler was a 21. Since you stated that I was fighting defensively when you DMPC'd me (which is exactly what I would have done, good call btw) my AC was a 22 (I think).
I don't mind taking the hit since a lot has happened because of it, but if Leon had died I might have asked for some leniency since it looks like he should have been missed.
I'm actually kind of enjoying the fact that Leon has become the game's punching bag. It'll make his choices in later levels make a whole lot of sense if I can manage to live that long.

All, these are some changes I'm considering; please review and let me know if any of them seem inappropriate or cause problems for you.
Most of you do some or most of these requests already, so hopefully I'm not asking for a significant time investment or additional work on your part.
I'm asking for these changes because over the past six months, I've figured out where many of my biggest "time sinks" happen as I'm running the games, and these adjustments will significantly reduce the amount of time it takes me to adjudicate the action and make appropriate responses. Thanks!

Character Footer
I would like everyone to update their character name footer in the following format:
This information can be placed in the “Class” cell on the Profile page.
Keeping current hit point and condition effects as OOC text in posts during combat is fine with me, I don’t expect you to update your profile every time something happens. But after combat is concluded and the character moves on, please update the profile with pertinent information.
Additionally, please post current spell selection whenever a spell is cast; I don’t need to see it in every post.
Rolling Dice
When rolling dice, please tell me what the character is doing. For example:
Good: {dice=Perception]d20+6[/dice]
Confusing: {dice]d20+6[/dice]
Good: {dice=Attack, battleaxe, power attack, furious focus, flank]d20+4-1+1+2
Confusing: {dice]d20+4-1+1+2[/dice]
For attacks and damage, you only need to type everything out the first time if you make multiple attacks with the same modifiers. If the attack changes, please note it accordingly (i.e. “same as before without flank” suffices).

Okay, well, I know what happened. Sort of embarrassing. :)
I make all of my rolls in initiative order - so when I made the roll for the skeleton, he had a 19 on the die. I figured out everything, rolled the damage, fire damage, did the math, and saw that Leon got knocked down to -13. I don't like to kill characters when I DMPC them, so I double-checked everything, confirmed the -13, and went on with initiative. Seeing he was finished, I put in my spoiler tags, and went on.
Firavel and Jean went, then I got to The Wyldling - who I was DMPCing - and decided he should attack with a claw ... he hit, rolling a 19. :/
So the 19 I originally rolled for the skeleton went to The Wyldling and I didn't catch it. You can see the 12 I rolled for the skeleton's damage, but like the d20 roll, the skeleton's original d6 of damage got taken by The Wyldling.
Anyway, royal mess up by yours truly, very sorry for the confusion. To answer your question, had I killed Leon, I would absolutely have figured out a retcon. I try to minimize mistakes, and when I make them, I try to make it as painless as possible for the players.
So... as it is, are you okay with leaving what happened as "real life" and continuing on? If not, let me know and we'll figure something out.

Yeah, I'm fine with not retconning things.
Pathfinder death threshold is negative Con, so even at -13 Leon wouldn't quite have been dead. Lysa's spell would have brought him up to -3, so I guess he's still unconscious. I'll RP that out in a bit.
