Sorek |
Is that the Pathfinder equivalent of 'Hold my beer'?
Lars...I think one of pekkos brews will help steady nualas hands. always works for me irl when i'm playing pool.
brvheart |
Nuela, your scorpion falls asleep. No save. Missed the DC by over 5.
WabbitHuntr |
I suppose the saying "let sleeping dogs lie" applies even more so to scorpions

Nuala Sataleeti |
"Well that didn't work to well.. Lemme try again.."
Did is reset? If so..
DD: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (19) + 13 = 32
brvheart |
It resets automatically. That disables it long enough for you to roll it up. Underneath is a trap door. As soon as anyone enters this room, several candles in small wall alcoves ignite, dimly illuminating the room.
WabbitHuntr |
Sorek walks in with a bad feeling about this room as the candles flare to life.
Detecting evil then magic

brvheart |
Nuela, your scorpion will not wake up. As she opens the trap door, everyone make a DC 15 Will save vs sleep. The entire room detects as magic Sorek even the candles.
brvheart |
Yes, I rolled Nuela's perception for the second trap. She did not notice it even actively searching.
WabbitHuntr |
yup definitely had a bad feeling about this room
Immediate action :Sorek spends 1pp to activate his Elan resistance racial ability to gain +4 on his saves for the round.
Will : 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (2) + 11 = 13
despite his years of training in the monastery learning to harden his body and mind to resist effects like this and the innate toughness of the Elan race Sorek slumps to the ground unconscious
next time we enter a room like this that sets off Soreks spideysense he won't hesitate to say "stop don't touch ANYTHING" . hoping there is a next time..... gulp
btw this is the second time Sorek has failed to resist a sleep effect. . He was the only one to fall victim to the Ogress sleep spell in the forest. I hope this narcolepsy is not fatal.

brvheart |
Then he will get a well deserved rest for awhile, but at least Lars and Nuela who is immune will be awake:) Perhaps one of the others can take your lead for the time being?
Nuala Sataleeti |
Nuala attempts to wake her companions.. Normally sleep spels can be broken by waking the folks..
brvheart |
Normally you are correct, but they are not waking up. Normal and Rappan Athuk are not in the same sentence.
Darrien Rossberg |
will: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21
Why is everyone sleeping? It is not nap time yet! Wake up!
Darrien will heft one of the sleeping companions up and begin lightly smacking their face.
WabbitHuntr |
for the second time in his life Sorek sleeps. His dreams are filled with shadowy skeleton figures and evil laughter. . Darrien slapping him doesn't help

"Indeed"
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27
Know Arcana: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
brvheart |
It is a modified sleep spell. They will sleep for 24 hours. I still need Will saves from Aggrammar please.
WabbitHuntr |
wow Sorek will be VERY rested after 24 hours. Anybody have a pillow?
-Posted with Wayfinder
brvheart |
And a blankie.
rolling Will save for Aggrammar so we can move on
will save: 1d20 + 5 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 5 + 4 = 25
brvheart |
So who is carrying Sorek? The passageway continues another 70' to a dead end. At the end there is an opening in the ceiling.
Darrien Rossberg |
Well then, if you were that tired, you could have just said so! Up you go then! Darrien will toss Sorek on his back.
Perhaps we should find a defensible place until they wake up yes?
brvheart |
Only Sorek and well the scorpion are asleep. Where is it you wish to hole up for 24 hours?
Darrien Rossberg |
Tell me, have you come across a room with but one entrance and exit? Perhaps that old room with the worn out wooden bed? How far back was that again?
Darrien looks around a bit. Then looks to Lars.
brvheart |
So far on this level you have been in this room, the fire room and two rooms with sarcophagi both with a single entrance. Of course the guy with the map is asleep!
Sorek |
just an fyi... Sorek would much rather sleep on top of a sarcophagus than in one. even if you took out the skeleton..fyi
Almon Elros |
Catching back up. Also, I believe Almon is the one carrying the map.
"Agreed, best we take them somewhere safe. If they don't wake up on their own, we can try a few choice methods before pulling them out of here."
brvheart |
You still need to decide where you are laying up and then set watches among the five of you. You may lay up, but this is an active place. I will have random encounters to roll.
Aggrammar Deepdelver |
We've got a couple of spellcasters - won't be easy to have them all at the end or start :D
"Lets do that lad - move out!" - the dwarf adds in, making for the sarcophagi room.
We'll try to block the entrances as best as we can before resting - perhaps Nuala can lock the doors?
Almon Elros |
"Perhaps I can take the first watch solo. I can hide us all away for about three hours. But I do agree on getting back to the sarcophagi."
Following Aggrammar to the 't-intersection' and then following around left wall, Almon slowly unfurls Sorek's rope. Once in the room, Almon tries to help the others secure the door. If other supplies are lacking, Almon pulls out the pitons from the climbing supplies Sorek purchased at the shop.
Does the door open into the sarcophagi room, or into the hallway?
Knowledge (Engineering) to ensure door is secure: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26
brvheart |
Doors generally should open into rooms and can be spiked. However here is only so much air in a small room for six people! Remember the room you could not get in upstairs? The doors were spiked from the inside.
Nuala Sataleeti |
Nuala helps in anyway she can.. "Perhaps its just best to do rotations.. We have to wait 24 hours after all, not 8.."
brvheart |
Ok, none of the random encounters can get through a spiked door so you can fast forward 24 hours when ever you wish if that is what you want to do.
brvheart |
Sorek removes the spike opens the door to get a breath of fresh air.
Aggrammar Deepdelver |
"That hit the spot" - the dwarf stretches - "Lets get back ta daungeon-a-delvin' shall we?" - he smiles to the others, patting Sorek in the back - "Ye had a nice rest lad?!"
brvheart, I'm assuming the tunnel we are in at the moment is approximately the direction we were following?
Nuala go! :D
brvheart |
I will put you back to the door where you entered this area. Not sure if you want to finish exploring that room or not where Sorek fell asleep. The trap is still active.
